Macross Delta reveal live right now:
PV for those who missed it:
Song was neat, battle sequences were neat (although the mechs still look like asshole), settings were neat... but the design for all of the characters, both in clothing and overall animoo look, is just atrocious. Macross plus is what they should be mimmicking, not the modern anime garbage styles.
A 2015 anime shouldn't be following the same stupid standards we've had for the past 10 years when it's all garbage. A lot of the gundam OVAs and other standalone animes don't do this, it isn't impossible for a new macross series not to do it as well. Especially when the character design/overall animation was better in 1994.
So, yeah, a 2015 anime should mimic an anime from 1994. Unless you have shit taste and actually believe the stupid everyone has super thin everything and the worst clothing in the world style is a benefit to anything, in which case you're just part of the problem. It's essentially how 12 year olds draw anime, and somehow it got headway and now alot of major studios follow the same guidelines.
Do remember that Plus is made with different audience in mind than this TV series.
You and your generation is not their only main audience you know. Stop acting like special snowflake and realizes there are kids that were born after you.
>So, yeah, a 2015 anime should mimic an anime from 1994
Go back to your retirement home, granpa. We the young uns will be the one who will fill Kawamori's pocket. Your role is over. Go fap to Myung.
Not even him but, opinions are still opinions. You can't just argue that one is more objective, then it just seems like you're saying that your opinion is basically fact, and anyone who disagrees is wrong.
I know where we are, but cmon.
Of course it's simplified to be easier to draw, it's a TV anime with a TV anime budget. Plus only had detailed designs because it was a 4 episode OVA.
Supposedly they don't have the license to make the VF-1 in 1/60 scale.
Word on the street is that all licences are being renegotiated before delta so bandai could acquire the license if arcadia and big west can't come to terms.
I want to see the back of vf-31 battroid
Tons of pics of various things
Found a pic of the backpack. It's terrible but still better than the yf-19 or the yf-30
Backpack seems to stick out further than any valk backpack yet. But yeah, that fighter mode is delicious.
This is practically confirmation that bandai either knew back in 2013 that the new hero valk was going to be a yf-30 derivative or they straight up demanded that it be one.
Now all that money they spent on a toy for the yf-30 that only appeared in one psp game has paid off apparently.
Hey guys, I might get skewered for this, but--I'm not really a Macross fan, I've just always wanted a Valk figure cause I like the design. So can someone explain to me the significance of the grey here? I know it's usually white.
Also, are Hi-Metals generally regarded well? As I said, not really a Macross guy here, so i don't know much about the line.
Sometimes the "movie"(DYRL) toys of valks are a slightly off-white or grey because that's supposedly how they are on-screen. That's all there is to it and I can never tell the difference unless it's pointed out.
>are Hi-Metals generally regarded well?
Right now hi-metal is shaping up to be the most interesting line. All the releases have been great so far and the future looks VERY bright with several unusual and enemy mecha on the table.
You'll have plenty to choose from. And to calm your fears, no, the idols won't be piloting them.
I was kind of hoping for a new design scheme from Frontier, not more of the same. I don't even dislike Frontier's designs, but each macross kind of had it's own identity when it came to designs, besides Seven sharing stuff from Plus.
>no, the idols won't be piloting them.
I hate the rainbow colored idol shit, but if you're going to bother having so many, at least have them pull their weight and have a purpose as pilots.
This cast is going to end up incredibly bloated, like Aquarion Evol's I can tell.
Have there ever been talks to make a Hi-Metal of this fucker?
Yep, while it's sad that arcadia are getting their shit kicked in and I prefer arcadias manufacturing methods (if not their prices) I'm stunned by all these announcements. I don't think I've been this hyped for macross merch before.
Yep. Check it out next to a 1/55 chunHNNNNNNNNNGHHHH!!!!
>hard to excited for anything macross when PO always sell out in seconds.
I fucking hate Harmony Gold....
Bunch of clear photos here (nothing from the no-photo displays, unfortunately):
The Hi-Metal Regult is looking so dang good! Cannot wait for it and the Glaug.
Oh man, part of me says I've got no need for a 1/35 scale VF-1, I've got plenty of awesome VF-1 toys already and the 1/60 v2s are superb. But part of me says I totally need a 1/35 VF-1 because it's still the best valk design ever! Well, we'll see if it actually gets made or not.
Yeah, Bandai Macross preorders can be hell to secure. On the upside, all the recent releases have had pretty good amounts of stock upon release. Even the super popular VF-19 Advance had some healthy restocks.
>part of me says I've got no need for a 1/35 scale VF-1
Isn't it weird that they're showing/teasing all these new hi-metals but the yf-21 is nowhere to be seen. We know they've already got a prototype they showed it years ago.
Better pic of the chogokin 1/35 DX. Sweet monkey jesus.
Ye gods. It makes the 1/55 look like a SD joke machine.
Too bad the wingtip and rudder lights don't light up. Totally dropped the ball there, Bandai. (That's my excuse not to buy and I'm stickin with it for now.)
Does look amazing. Unfortunately, Bandai hasn't proven it can pull off a real toy at that kinda size. More like a museum piece, --no touching.
Bet the first release is a ragdoll and the subsequent ones are just a little better. Still, if all you want is shelf candy that looks good, top stuff to be sure.
it's a TOY for responsible adults, not for kids.
I transform then easily over the coffee table while watching news or tv shows.
little tabs and sharp parts are what make it not a current KID toy.
Not that guy, but the reviews I've seen of the DX Mazinger SOC didn't impress me. Nice to look at, but I prefer solid handling and, you know, stomping across the desk making noises and striking poses without stuff falling off.
a bit of forward swept-wing? check!
hint of delta wing? check!
this truly is a meme plane... but i'm still gonna order it once it hits amiami...
don't know if anyone cares, but if there's anyone who missed on the HI-METAL VF-1S Hikaru preorders and wants to snag one, they opened this morning and I ordered 2 on accident. I'll be cancelling one today so keep your eyes peeled at http://www.hlj.com/product/BANN01263 in case that PO becomes available
