Hire a driver for a day, it's cheap. Ask him to take you around. See stuff like the rice fields, the volcano, visit a coffee farm and buy the famous cat shit coffee, see the sunset at the temple of Tanah Lot, and other cool temples too.
my girlfriend got a job as a flight attendant for lufthansa. she will begin in february and i am wondering about the dicounts we can get. anybody has experience with that? i heard stand by ticket are the cheapest way to fly but there is a high risk of not getting a place.
so, it looks like i'm going to have the opportunity to take at least a month off this coming summer. i live in nyc, but would like to pick up and move to a foreign city for the month of (let's call it) august, which i realize poses some timing issues. i'd like to to be relatively easy to navigate using english, but i'm also trying to make up my mind early so i have time to try and learn some of the local language. i've thought about eastern europe; maybe budapest, krakow, or something like that. suggestions??
Hey everyone. Since there seems to be alot of interest on this board about living abroad teaching English, I made a thread devoted to it and questions related to it.
I am a English teacher living in Vietnam,I have been living here for 3 years. I am getting married soon and will be living here the rest of my life. I primarily teach children but also tutor college kids on the weekend. I also lived and taught in Japan for one year before moving here. So if anyone has any questions about teaching in Vietnam or Japan let me know and I will do my best to answer your questions.
>>1063212 I got a degree in English not knowing what I really wanted to do with my life, I knew a guy who taught English in Japan so I said fuck it and flew to Japan with my diploma. After a few days of job searching I got a job at a kindergarten. After a year I got really sick of Japan for a wide variety of reasons and moved to Vietnam, which I like a lot better.
I enjoy helping kids and improving their lives by giving them a very valuable skill, being able to speak English, it makes me feel good. I also enjoy that I... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I'm going backpacking in Europe and the sticky recommends a camping stove. It makes sense, but will I be able to use them in hostels or is this just for camping areas in Europe? Anyone got any insight in this? Thanks
be careful with german hostels, most of them are pretty old/ haven't been renovated in a long time and many usually don't have communal kitchens so always check for that online. i'm a german geology student so i've seen quite a lot of hostels here on my field trips though most of them were more in the country side.

Brazil is not a safe country, Manaus is a great a beautiful city, but is not THAT safe. Have you ever been suspected of terrorism at an airport?. It happened to me yesterday out of the blue, first they swabbed my hands with a cotton tissue and told me it was "ok", then one girl from the airline gives me bad looks while talking by the phone, when i hand my id and boarding pass, the guy from the airline tells me "It's ok Mr.Anon, you can pass", and right after that a guard when i was about to go to the plane a guard froze me and says >-Where are you from? >-From... Hello, fellow /trv/alers. I am going to Istanbul for five days in two weeks. What should I do there? I'm into culture and history mostly, although I also like to meet locals and go to bars. I also enjoy good food. The thing is, I don't have alot of money to spend. Tell me about some cool places to go to, without becoming absolutely broke. Also, how is public transport between Ataturk airport and Sultanahmet?
Great time to go. 1 USD euals 3.92 Lira (TRY) stay in a hostel cheap. To get to Sultanahmet from the ataturk airport: - go to the metro stop in the basement of the airport - ride the only subway there (the red m1 line) get off at Zeytinburnu the 6th stop. walk to the blue t1 tram line and get on . take tram T1 toward Eminonu. Get off at Sultanahmet (the 16th stop). 1 or 2 day do all the touristy shit. sulanahmanet (hiya sofia, blue mosque, basillica systern, topkapi palace), check out grand bazar(i believe cloased sunday). check out galata bridge and walk accross.
