The thing about Asian breakfasts is that they're usually some sort of leftovers from the evening before. Like fried rice. Asians don't have "set" breakfast dishes like Europeans/North Americans do. A lot of them these days eat western style breakfasts. And yeah I agree that their food even during breakfast is something you'd expect to see for lunch or dinner in the west. For example they add meat to their porridge, often eat a spicy soup, and less sweet foods like you see in the west with pancakes or waffles.
I think of almost the entire east asia region only dim-sum is something you should typically only eat for breakfast. And even that is eaten more of a weekend brunch.
>>1047381 Can you eat things fried in nut oil? If you can't you will have to stick to items that are either boiled or steamed. Otherwise with fried things you will run the chance that it's fried in peanut or soybean oil. Carry those allergy cards everywhere and write out a sentence asking if they use a nut oil because there's a possibility that they will say there's no nuts in the dish but it's fried in peanut oil.
Seafood might not be as easy to avoid either as some dishes are cooked with shrimp paste but for the most part if you stick to grilled meat you should be good.
>>1047673 Yeah it's pretty much only peanuts. They eat cashews as well and sometimes other nuts but those are more expensive so you're unlikely to eat them when eating street food or average restaurants.
