Silent movie thread? Silent movie thread. Wanna talk about 1910s-1920s films?
I've recently gotten into the Golden Age of Hollywood. I am a casual still so I only really know of the big names like Mary Pickford, Anna May Wong, Theda Bara, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Clara Bow, etc. Silent film has such an unsavory reputation. People all think it's comedy and slapstick when there were many high quality films of many genres. They take more concentration than talkies (ie, you can't double task while watching them) but are enjoyable films.
Alright, why are Marvel movies so popular?
-The plots are so goddamn predictable it's fucking boring.
-The cinematography is almost always shit.
-The acting is absolute balls.
-They all exist for setting up the next movie (less happened in Civil War to advance the plot than a 30 minute TV show for fuck sake) but still critics and normies eat this shit up.
easily digestible content, nothing groundbreaking or intellectual stimulating just solid/mediocre action entertainment, it's not different than westerns during the 50s, plus there's the addition of these colorful comic characters that while the average consumer might not know everything about them they have some basic knowledge, as an extra bonus most of them are played by famous well known actors.
at this point god knows
when avengers 2 came I couldn't believe how every one said it was good

>I have to tell you something, Louis. I have a fetish for black men. I understand..

Sartre biopic when
I dont get the ending bros, where is Bryan going? why was everybody so sentimental? is he going to some kind of witness protection? where was he going without his children? is he leaving them behind? why was Vin diesel okay with it? why was everyone acting like they wont see Bryan again? Wont they visit him at all? is he going to tokyo?
What did you think of this movie? Did the ending make it better or worse?
What's his appeal? His routines are all shallow social comedy, wordplay and random ranting about stupid shit. I feel like he was just phoning it in as a character after a while.
Which one of these degenerates do you relate to the most?
