If we're completely and totally honest:
Sopranos > Goodfellas, Godfather, Casino
The Wire > Scarface, Serpico ...
Fargo Season 2 > Fargo movie
True Detective 1 > Se7en
So what's the point of movies in 2015?
No bait, serious question.
The point being: if you have 10 hours to create something, it's bound to be better and deeper than if you try to compress everything into 90 minutes. There's literally no reason for movies since TV shows have reached movie quality.
You can watch tv for narrative complexity but I watch film for medium-specific reasons.
>be a Jedi Knight
>come back home from a mission
>cut a man's head off earlier that day, still feeling overwhelmed
>pic related 10/10 wife tells me she's pregnant
>no one knows we're married
>if anyone finds out I'll be kicked off the Jedi council
>later that night have dreams of wife dying in child birth

Come up with an alternate ending for the Harry Potter series.
/tv/ what do you think of supernatural?
I actually watched through most of season 1 back around Halloween, it's really amazing how good the show used to be and how different the atmosphere was. Today though it's just awful, it's full of meta jokes, Felicia Day tier mary sues, and monsters that are funny rather than scary.
>and then you saw the movie for the first time
He's a funny guy
HOW DO YOU DO I
Why were you crying, Rey?
TIME FOR SOME RANCH
Were the changes made to Star Wars really that bad?
Do astronauts really talk like this?
>tfw can't discuss my favorite director with /tv/ without getting memed on
I can't fucking explain how incredible this films is
any more like this?
>how incredible this film is
Why? Was it the oppressive grey color scheme? Was it the uninteresting paper-thin characters with the stenciled backstories? Was it the edginess for edginess' sake? How about that it's 45 minutes of story with a runtime of 100 minutes?
It was a crappy movie that tried to hide its limitations with powerhouse performances, Cockney faggot dialect, and grey. Lots of grey.
