Are the writers trying to obfuscate Gandhi's real intentions for fasting? Gandhi was Hindi, didn't even fucking believe in the Christian god
>The key figures of the summer 2016 movie season tell a more intriguing if deeply conflicted story. I speak of Harley Quinn as played by Margot Robbie in "Suicide Squad," and Jillian Holtzmann as brought to life, and how, by Kate McKinnon in "Ghostbusters."
>I had issues with the Joker's sex toy Harley Quinn long before the 10-year-old in our house came back from a birthday party sleepover with her hair in Harley Quinn ponytails. The girls saw "Suicide Squad" the night before and then played laser tag, and then a couple of them wanted to try out a modified version of the Harley Quinn look.
>A couple of weeks before she saw "Suicide Squad" with her preteen squadron, she came home from her other PG-13-rated biggie this summer, "Ghostbusters." She was crazy for one character in particular. Of course. You know. The one who actually emerged as a fully formed character: Holtzmann. Her mad fighting skills. Her goggles. Her big brain and quick wits and out-there live-wire charisma. No "Daddy's Lil' Monster" T-shirt on this woman.
>We'll be seeing "acceptable" variations on that outfit a couple of months from now, on every sidewalk. "All those young girls trick-or-treating in Chicago" dressed as Harley Quinn.
>And maybe we'll see a few Holtzmanns. The movie's likely to hand Sony a loss in the $50 million to $80 million range. Holtzmann deserves her own sequel, but now? Good luck.
>After the Chicago press screening, writer Bastien recalls, "I literally held my head in my hands … this straight-up racist, sexist, poorly edited, nonsensical, ugly movie. And it was a bummer because, for once, the casting was incredibly diverse."
>Harley Quinn represents an unusually combustible antiheroine, both victim and victimizer, a joker and the Joker's brainwashed concubine who's in love with a serial killer. Women and girls, and men and boys, can admire and enjoy parts of her persona, and try to ignore the degraded parts.
I was it a spider or a drider?
What's next for her career, after Game of Thrones ends?
Why is this show so damned funny even after all this time?
people got way too cool for this show a couple of years ago. i had never seen it so i couldn't really weigh in
but i started watching it casually recently and it's honestly fine, no more or less funny than any other sitcom, just with a more modern pseduo-nerd context
earlier seasons were watchable at least when the characters at least resembled human beings at a rudimentary level
now its just caricatures of various nerd memes brought to your TVs
what purpose did this character serve?
What is the 4chan of film?
Pizdets, that kicked ass!

Loved it, loved On the road too. Both of these films make me yearn for something more. But these films are good because books were good.

Is it possible to buy your way into alt comedy?
nah Kroll Show was terrible, but his work as Ruxin on The League was absolutely perfect. He will never give a better performance no matter how much Oscar bait he plays in.
>mfw you haven't seen Citizen Kane yet

Turner Classic Movies is showing Angie Dickinson movies all day. During prime time, they're showing the classic crime thriller, Point Blank, followed by what might be the greatest western ever made, Rio Bravo. Also, at 2:15 AM, they're showing Pretty Maids All In A Row, starring Rock Hudson as a high school teacher who has sex with his students, and tries to get a kid laid while there's someone killing all the girls. There's plenty of nudity. I think it's a pretty terrible film, but it's one of Quentin Tarantino's favorites.

>Was Angie Dickinson a good actress or just eye candy?

>Is Rio Bravo the greatest western of all time?
No, Red River is
>Is there any artistic value in Pretty Maids All In A Row
haven't seen it, but if Tarantino loves it, then it must be worth watching at least once. It's thanks to him I discovered Jack Hill
