Trekkies of /tv/:
I have seen all 13 Star Trek movies, around half of the episodes from the original series, and I've caught various random episodes of the Next Generation flipping through channels.
Am I good to go for watching the new series in January, or will I be hoplelessly lost, having never seen any Deep Space Nine, Voyager, or Enterprise episodes, and pretty much only experiencing the Next Generation crew from the movies?
And is the new series in the same timeline as the newest three movies?
Wrath of Khan.
I unironically enjoyed the first JJ Trek, though, and I thought Final Frontier and Insurrection, while obviously flawed, are both pretty comfy in their own rights.
The absolute worst are Nemesis and Beyond.
>Ma'am, the cheese is on its way. Here's an interim banana
JLD tries, unsuccessfully, to open banana
>It doesn't even work!
Who will play him in the inevitable biopic?
So a black man is responsible for the white devil? LOL
Has a movie/tvshow made you make an important change in your life??
What movie or tvshow did make a
strong impact in your life?
Is it going to be good? I think Tom Cruise is a master at picking scripts, he'd never go along with something if he didn't know it would be great.
>6'5" and built like a brick shithouse
Sounds kinda gay.
First of all that's not true, and second of all, the writer/director of the first one is not returning for the second. It's directed by Ed Zwick (Last Samurai) and written by literal whos.
It's going to suck. Walk away.
Better than True Detective tbqhwyf
did this flop after the first ep ?. why isnt there a second one ?.
Will it be good
POST YFW FOREIGN PLEBS FINALLY DID SOMETHING RIGHT!!
When did it jump the shark?
Do you need to prepare any sort of special ritual to truly enjoy a film? I have my mom get me two of these babies at the store, one pepperoni and one 4-cheese, then I start the film as soon as the pepperoni one is sliced up and ready to eat. Later, approximately 20 minutes before the halfway point of the movie, I have my mom cook the 4-cheese one so that right at the halfway mark I can take a bathroom break and grab my second treat from downstairs. It really helps enhance the film-viewing experience, I recommend trying it.
>LIVING WITH YOUR MOM
>EATING A WHOLE FROZEN PIZZA IN A DAY
>EATING 2 WHOLE FROZEN PIZZAS IN 90 MINUTES
>NOT HAVING YOUR MOM BRING YOU HOTPOCKETS INSTEAD AND FEED THEM TO YOU ONE BY ONE LIKE AN CARGO SHORT CLAD EMPEROR EATING GRAPES
>tfw you realise this is Paul Giamatti's best movie
>tfw going to the cinema with my gf
>tfw we stare down all the awkward guys who go on their own
I always look fondly at solo cinemagoers because I know they're at least going to be quiet and watch the fucking movie rather than talking to their friends. I'm like "good for you!" in my head.
>"You can have any brew you want as long as it's this filthy Mexican piss water."
What was Dom trying to tell us with this line?
What your opinion on rick and morty?
It's been too long.
Cinegrids are welcome
parajanov is great, his short films are very impressive and the film in OP is a visual poetic masterpiece
>at the cinema
>people around you audibly laugh
This is easily the worst part of Twin Peaks. It is so fucking boring and pointless. What the fuck were they thinking.
Anyone watching this?
It's alright so far
Pretty god damn hilarious after a slow first episode.
Just watched The Thing are there any other good movies with Mimicking creatures? is the 2011 the thing good?
>is the 2011 the thing good?
It's mediocre, but it's a prequel so worth the watch.
The Thing prequel.
Some others I just can't be bothered to think about them all.
What is the best Sourh Korean movie and why is it pic related?
Here alone? ...again?
What's the appeal?
What am I not getting?
>expected classical King Arthur movie in tone and style - something we haven't gotten in a long long time...a simple, epic, meaningful movie
>instead its a weird mash-up of Guy Ritchie-isms and generic looking fantasy monsters/battles that doesn't seem very King Arthur
I liked a couple shots and bits of dialogue and it may end up surprising me but man I was let down by this trailer.
Why does no one talk about this film? I thought it was great.
Perhaps because around the time of its release, any discussion of it here just devolved into /pol/ "apes = black people" memes.
It's a good movie, but it suffers from shallow/uninteresting human characters (and pretty much all the ape characters besides Caesar and Koba too), and a universe that's entirely confined to the San Francisco area just like its predecessor, so it doesn't feel very fleshed out.
Explain to me how Star Trek Voyager is not one of the greatest pieces of television ever produced.
>this bitch right here
>also Rick 'I'm better the Gene' Berman
Watching the original Dawn of the Dead for the first time and I can't fucking deal with this music...
What video game do you think should be adapted into a movie, /tv/?
Personally, I think Dead Space has an incredibly cool setting. If it was handled well it could be a better sci-fi horror than Alien or The Thing.
Jak & Daxter
I'm an old and I hate /v/, but I always thought there was real meat to this universe. Also it was just fun, even with all the Mad Max sequels.
