What are your thoughts on avant-garde filmmaking? What's your favorites?
I would post in this thread but I'm going out for food and then I have classes.
Keep this alive for another 4 hours and I would love to take part in discussion. I've just been getting into avant-garde lately and I've found it incredibly rewarding
Why do you guys hate this movie? And what makes it "reddit"? You can say that it's "LITERALLY REDDITS FAVORITE MOVIE!", but literally if you check the past "/tv/'s favorite films", it always ranks extremely high, and it tops the list on the 2012 one I'm pretty sure. And you can't deny that it's not a significant film in cinematic history. Explain yourself.
reddit = popular, successful ...
/tv/ is too deep you see.
/tv/ has been under reddit occupation since the capeshit Boom of 2008. The authentic posters stand film and fight the reddit menace but they will always be outnumbered. This is why you get so many threads about crap like superhero movies, Game Of Thrones and Breaking Bad. The tides of reddit flood this board but they will always break against authentic /tv/.
KERNA O'NEILL WHUT THA HELL ARE YOU DOIN'? WE NEED TA GIT MORE INTEL ON DEM GOULDS. YOU HAVE A GO
Tell me about Ra, why does he wear the mask?
>Mfw this is real
You guys were right about Jennifer Lawrence. She's not waifu material at all.
Did I ever tell you about Jar Jar Binks? Without him I would of never met your father and the empire would of never risen. He was great senator and he might of been the key to all of this. He was a good friend.
Is this quite possibly the best marvel film ever made?
What is the best sitcom that's currently airing, /tv/? Is it Two Broke Girls or something else?
Terms of sitcoms, I'd have to say:
Fresh Off the Boat
Brooklyn 99 (if that counts)
There aren't really any great sitcoms anymore. I still watch Seinfeld, Frasier, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond over those
Why was Masketta so sad all the time? Did he hate his job? Or did he know what will happen during the flight?
is this the best shot in film history?
EGYPTIAN GODS ARE NOT WHITE
THEY'RE RED, YELLOW, AND BLUE
Mr T is dead
Where were you when?
Peter Jackson admits The Hobbit movies sucked
>has a fully prepped film with Guillermo Del Toro's designs, shot lists and plans
>loses Guillermo Del Toro
>decides, for some reason, to throw out ALL of the pre-production at the very last minute, re-do everything according to his own "vision"
>doesn't have a vision
>doesn't even want to do this

Most disappointing thing that could have been great. Could've been a heart warming 3.25 hour epic with cool practical effects. Could've introduced a new generation to the Tolkien mythos.
INSTEAD WE GOT A TRILOGY OF PURE BULLSHIT REEEEEEEEEEEEE
Why is Frozen so praised? I just saw it, I mean, it was okay, a regular Disney film but people overhyped the fuck out of it
It's a movie for children. You're a childish adult. The "people who overhyped the fuck out of it" are mostly between the ages of 3 and 10. They haven't seen a whole lot of other movies.
The adults who talked about the movie have children, so those songs were stuck in our heads whether we liked it or not, because when a little kid likes a movie, they want to watch it a hundred fucking times.
ITT: movies you never bothered to watch on the grounds that they seem to be trash
