What did /tv/ think of Bridge to Terabithia?

Paul Verhoeven is a pretty cool guy. More action directors should take notes from his work. Modern action movies take themselves too seriously and it makes them less fun to watch for the sake of some stupid adolescent ideas about hardcore grittiness or something. It's the reason I can't really rewatch Dredd.
>made hilarious films
>was a jew that made hitler jokes
>made David Lynche's career to exist
based Directors thread
Why hasn't he made a movie in years? Blazing Saddles is fucking hilarious and we could use more Mel Brooks in this comedic wasteland of garbage and reddit memes.
Last thing I remember seeing him in was Curb Your Enthusiasm
What other controversial movies are out there? This one brought a lot of controversy.
>controversial?A Sweet Movie (1974) It caused an immediate uproar on its release, and is still banned in several countries today. Just released now on DVD.

Is it true that Saoirse Ronan turned down the role as Rey because she didn't like Boyega?
Why did the HD DVD die? I liked it better than Blu Ray and even had a HD DVD drive for my Xbox 360.
I have one too because my dipshit brother thought it was the future. I also have on HD DVD Troy, King Kong, and Transformers...
ITT: best exploitation films. Honestly anything by Troma is God-tier and fuck you if you think other wise.
Think of the last movie you saw.
Name a flaw that the female lead has related to skill, intelligence, or ability. Personality flaws do not count.
