Alicia Vikander is everything Rooney Mara is not.
>Warm instead of ice cold.
>Genuine life experience rather than sheltered rich kid.
>Earned her success rather than handed it via nepotism or sex favors w Fincher.
>No Kate Mara sort of rival
>Didn't have to get ass raped on screen to break into the mainstream.
Merry Christmas /tv/!
This will be a theory with spoilers about the movie EP VII. Please do not read below this text if you don't want to be spoiled.
So, Snoke is the real Luke student that raged and destroyed everything, that is why he is so obsessed with the Skywalker return and why he is concerned about Rey. He killed some students but took a few with him > Kylo Ren He thought everything about Vader to Kylo that's why Kylo is obsessed about Vader, Luke woudn't say nice things about Vader, and also Snoke seems much more likely to have fought against Luke because he is really fucked up, has a weird looking, and Kylo fighting against Luke and losing to Rey ? I mean, he controls the force like no one but that's because Snoke taught him . And before you say " He is too old to be a student" It's not like Luke only took children to teach the jedi stuff and there is a 30year break so you don't know if Snoke was 20 and is 50 now. I heard this theory in a brazilian podcast and im 100% with it. Thats the secret JJ is hiding, maybe the plot is not as predictable as we think it is.
So we already know it's better than RotJ, but is it better than ANH?
HO HO... HORGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Does it make you happy that there are kids right now awaking to a big box with a puppy or a kitty in it?
What a moment.
Is this man on SUICIDE WATCH?
I'm going to hang a high wire between the two towers of the World Trade Center and walk on it.
heres my problem with Rey, because of the way she is written every other character becomes irrelevant, in the OT luke has Leia and Han to lean on, because he needs it at times, this makes him a character able to grow and become great. Anakin has Obi-Wan to lean on and learn from, this makes it so he is not, despite everyone telling him he's the fucking chosen one, able to win all the damn time. Rey has Han solo a veteran fighter pilot, Chewie a veteran savage and Finn a trained soldier to lean on and get supported by. But she doesn't need anyone, ever. so Finn is made...

Just because Rey doesn't need to rely on Finn, it doesn't make Finn irrelevant.
In fact, Finn is really the one driving the story. Finn's defection from the First Order is what puts everything into motion. Finn is also the one keeping Rey on track. If it weren't for Finn, Rey wouldn't be doing anything except for trying to find a way back to Jakku.
the new star wars is probably something you're supposed to see with your children. cause only kids would be able to enjoy this shit. it's the same fucking story as before. at least the last three were original.
no fucking kidding - if you think this was a good movie i can't respect you cause you just don't fucking see how obviously shitty this movie was.
Started watching this the other day and holy fuck the cinematography is terrible. What the fuck is up with those little zooms in every bloody shot? And jesus christ, those millions of cuts per minute. I can't stand it. Also the show itself is pretty terrible.
Is there any good cinematography in television series? Is there anyone who actually cares what the final product looks like?
Lucasfilm employee. Won't reveal what I do, but I can say it's not related to scripts, so I don't know much of their plans, but I'll share what I know about the logistics of their upcoming movies.
>The Force Awakens is a table-sitting movie. They retreaded elements from the old movies to introduce the new characters, reintroduce the old ones to new audiences, and build enough good will so they can can go off the handles in the sequels, since a lot of stuff they're planning changes the lore pretty drastically.
>The movies will be divided in phases, kinda' like the MCU, all centered on a trilogy. Episode IX will be the end of the "Phase I", so to speak, and they'll then begin a new trilogy with Episode X that'll focus on new protagonists.
>The idea is that all directors collaborate with the scripts as well.
>Rogue One is coming along nicely. It's a grittier movie than the average Star Wars. No Jedis, droids, aliens or monsters. It is pretty standalone, but there is a big connection to TFA. James Earl Jones will record some new lines for Darth Vader. They'll also use CGI for a few new scenes with Tarkin and digitally de-aging Carrie Fisher for new scenes with young, ANH-age Princess Leia.
>Rian Johnson has completed the shooting draft for Episode VIII. The confirmed characters to return are Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, Hux, Phasma, Snoke, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, R2, C-3P0, BB-8, Ackbar, Nien Numb, Snap, Jessika and Unkar. Benicio Del Toro will be in it, and they're also working out deals with Billy Dee Williams and Hayden Christensen for cameo appearances. The casting process for the other new characters will being in early February.
>Han Solo will be the anthology movie of 2018, from the 21 Jump Street duo. Script is halfway done, and they're auditioning actors for Han. Chewie will be in it, and we'll also see young Lando. Boba Fett and Jabba are slated to appear, but not as the main villains. There'll also be a love interest.
>Episode IX has a rough outline and the Jurassic World guy is already having meetings with the studio, but it's not gonna pick up speed until Episode VIII is out.
>The 2018 anthology was going to be a Boba Fett movie by the new Fantastic Four guy, but he completely shat the bed and it got delayed in favor of the Han Solo movie. The Fett movie will new probably be out on the "Phase 2", but there's a chance the studio will up to two anthologies per year if Rogue One does exceedingly good. Zack Snyder...

Since everyone here is growing out of their Reddit based prequel hate, can we also appreciate how based Jar Jar was?
A fun character that works as a guide to the audience, let's us experience this grand adventure as a fellow outsider. Honestly a top 5 character for me. Good mix of humor and being an outsider in an already strange world.
I used to get mocked for it, but now that all the prequel hating Redditors have been run out, its okay to expose that you liked Jar Jar, they're not here to throw tantrums anymore.
Why can't I accept that it was a good movie?
Why wouldn't you be a Sith? They do seem much stronger.
Darth Maul took 2 supreme Jedis to take him down.
Dooku actually beat 2 supreme Jedis, including one with one of the highest midichlorian counts ever
Palpatine managed to go unnoticed by the Jedis at the height of their powers, right under their very noses. He outfought Windu and Yoda and was also wiser than Yoda
Vader goes without saying
Why wouldn't you be a Sith?
if the movies had portrayed the sacrificing of your body and spirit in order to use the dark side it would have made more sense to not go with it, sadly it didn't and instead it showed everyone that with it you get to shoot lightning from your fingers, choke people regardless of how far away they were and generally just be stronger than anyone
>Why wouldn't you be a Sith?
bad for your health
