Look out that window, /tv/ isn't burning its burnt.
>Envy the country that has heroes, huh?!
>I say pity the country that needs them.
BB-8 > Finn > Rey > Hux > Chewbacca > Phasma > Han > Kylo > Maz > Poe >>>>>>> Leia
What are your favorite rom coms? (Romantic comedies)
>If I wasn't single and I had a girlfriend
Where there any references to the prequels in TFA? I don't mean shit like fucking Sebulba's emblem on Maz's building, I mean planets or aliens or anything alluding that they exist
Holy shit. This is it. This is one that will be remembered. Absolutely stunning
This is 9th of The 10 Most Acclaimed Films of the 21st Century according to theyshootpictures.com.
What do you think of this film?
Wow seriously? He was still the best character in the movie. No wonder they paid him so good.
Also that female yellow alien character was pretty good.
Shit list your top 3 favorite characters in the movie.
1. Han Solo
2. Yellow Alien girl
Could someone give me a primer on how Star Wars politics stand now? How do the First Order, the Republic, and the Resistance fit together? How much power and influence does each have?
What about after the Republic capitol is destroyed?
>New Republic formed after battle of Endor
>First Order forms from the remnants of the Empire
>New Republic doesn't see them as a threat so they leave them alone
>Leia sees them as a threat so she forms the Resistance to fight them
>New Republic supports the resistance under the table
>First Order gets revenge by glassing the Capital and declaring war on New Republic
that's it so far I think
Empire was fractured after the OT, recently the pieces have banded together under the first order. Republic was re-established after OT as New Republic, and the Resitence continued to operate as it's own organization taking down the remaining empire fragments.
How did this piece of shit spawn a global phenomenon? The only memorable part was Leia's titties.
The same reason capeshit works
It spawned a memorable experience that had a larger than life feel and literally crafted the formula for blockbusters, simple story, digestable in a way that allows everyone to take something from it and visuals.
This is in an age before anything quite like it got put on the big screen
Appeals to nostalgia, even when it was on the first iteration
ITT: Celebrities whom have aged like almond milk, pic somewhat related
So there's a fine line between a movie paying homage and having callbacks, to just straight up ripping it off. I think The Force Awakens is firmly in the latter, and I fully expected it because of his hamfisted attempts at appeasing trekkies with reference fanservice.
Off the top of my head the "references" I can think of are: (cont)
Kylo Ren was an obvious pathetic attempt at creating another Vader. Black clothes, red sword, a mask? Seriously? Maybe if they spent a little less time counting their shekels and more coming up with original characters we wouldn't have these problems. You could tell they tried to make him seem powerful and intimidating but Driver just couldn't pull it off, is he even an actor? I could see clearly he was nervous and doubted himself, really bad performance
I can't believe it.
They made someone worse than Anakin.
i like him
the mask voice just sounded like someone talking too close to their mic on skype or something but that's just a minor annoyance haha i'm not one to rage over something as trivial as star wars
The point is that he's SUPPOSED to be a whiny little shit he puts on the mask to hide his weakness from the outside world and look tough
when Anakin threw a temper tantrum we were supposed to see it as a sign of his inner struggle and take pity on him
People just DO NOT UNDERSTAND this character. It's like they the prequels ruined them and they think a good Star Wars villain is Darth Maul or General Grevious
I don't get it. If you like it that's perfectly fine, but 90%? That doesn't make any sense. Nostlgia goggles/prequel hate can't possibly be that strong. There's basic film making flaws that critics should point out, but 90%? It's ridiculous.
Star Wars was "the thing" of the year. 90% of movie critics have no guts, and so will just go along with the flow. Just the Avengers was the big thing of 2012, or Game of Thrones is the big thing on tv.
Shit, I wouldn't be surprise if for most reviews 80% of it was written before seeing it.
How do you concisely (here meaning under 200 words) explain why these movies suck?
He's such a good swordsman that Palpatine went through the whole series of complicated plans to get Anakin on his side, just to be able to survive Mace's coup.
Palpatine & Yoda
Anakin & Obi
