Can you recommend me good fantasy movies?
I love Conan just as much as LotR, I'm not really picky as long as it's good fantasy.
A few years ago, while staying up late and watching TV (I don't have a life lol), I discovered a wonderful movie called Flesh & Blood. I've always been fond of movies set in the medieval era. I've watched it three times, and I'd cheerfully watch it again.
Toodles and good luck on your quest to find grrrrr-eat fantasy movies!
dont know of any film besides whats mentioned here, but you should watch the show Legend of the Seeker, based on Sword of Truth book series. Never read the books, the show is cheesy but entertaining as all hell, with pretty good effects and acting. And super hot chicks and fighting in almost every episode. Its an underrated show I never see mentioned here, and its the definition of fantasy. Check it out bro.
Legend of the Seeker
a 2 season TV series, starring these two hot bitches.
> not watching Kaamelott
It's like you still don't know about France.
Excalibur, Willow, Legend, City of Lost Children, Beastmaster, Dragonslayer, Ladyhawk, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Time Bandits, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, Ronia the Robber's Daughter, The Dungeonmaster, The Neverending Story, The Fall (some of it's fantasy), Wings of Desire (the '87 version), The Princess Bride, Princess Mononoke, Hook, Pan's Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal
> Reign of Fire
> Dragons and Dubsman

/tv/ I am disappoint
Does it have to be a movie? Why not a television show?
It's more sci if but still filled with boner inducing fantasy. Where else will you see a giant paper mâché head spitting guns.
OP here. Well, looks fun. I might even end up watching it. Thanks a bunch Anon!
Same as above. Those girls, fuck, are they hot.
I know, that's not even funny, it's that bad. But holy, do I love Conan the Barbarian and the Destroyer movies. They should'we made it into a trilogy. What about the new Conan movie? Starring Khal Drogo?
> Camelot and King Arthur?
> Eva Green as a sexy witch?
> does she get naked?
the perfect fantasy show exists OP.
If you watch it with Arnold's movies in mind, it's unbelievably shit. If you don't, it's amusing. Not a complete waste of time, and they tried to stay away from the original's story and everything which was a good decision.
Check out the live action Disney movie Dragonslayer. Awesome fantasy and it has one of the best movie dragons in history.
yes the CGI version
OP is clearly asking for medieval fantasy and Troy is so not. If you accept antic crap, you have stuff like Wrath of the Titans.
Also Troy shits all over the mythology, it's full of Hollywood PC crap and ignorance, it's badly acted and just lazy from the beginning, trying to cash-in on Lotr-style battles.
Too bad. Hopefully they try to revive Conan again. Hope dies last.
Will do Anon, looks great!
Labyrinth looks awesome, David Bowie just as so! thanks!
Thank you all, you already recommended me great movies, also series. But you know you can suggest newer movies as well.
> implying there is a hotter fantasy show than Legend of the Seeker
>OP is clearly asking for medieval fantasy and Troy is so not.
Neither is Conan. "Fantasy" does not imply medieval fantasy.
>Also Troy shits all over the mythology, it's full of Hollywood PC crap and ignorance, it's badly acted and just lazy from the beginning, trying to cash-in on Lotr-style battles.
I won't argue with that, but the duel between Achilles and Hector makes everything worth it. It's one of the finest fantasy duels put on film.
Also speaking of Wrath of the Titans, OP check out the old Clash of the Titans movie.
Achilles killing Agamemnon was the last drop for me.
Seriously how far the NEED of a vilain can lead hollywood productions on their way to shit all over stories ? This makes no sense.
There's a shot where Vermithrax is crawling towards the camera that I think is the single best special effects shot in film, for just one moment you get the sense that if dragons existed, that's what one would look like
Already seen it, Loved it.
Saw Beastmaster as a little kid; time to rewatch the thing!
I saw it too, loved it. Maleficent was absolutely 10/10 waifu material.
Army of Darkness
The Wizard of Oz (serious)
This Is the End
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Chasseurs de dragons (Dragon Hunters)
Big Trouble in Little China
The Gamers (2002) (and its sequels)
Gwai wik (Re-cycle)
And a huge second to Excalibur.
Not all of these films are sword and sorcery fantasy, but as a fan of the genre, they all scratched that itch.
Labyrinth is good. Just don't pay attention to the somewhat shitty plot
or Bowie's nob. Unless you're a grill, that is
