Sorry man, it was a joke.
Honestly, I don't know where to start if you want to watch 'patrician' films. Everyone here just calls eachother plebs but have zero knowledge about films/movies/whatever you want to call it
>make yourself uncomfortable
This is important when getting into movies. The tendency is to watch only things that give you happy feelings or exhilarate you. Now, while that might be fine for most movies, there are some movies out there that will disturb you or make you uncomfortable...these are some of the most important movies.
For example, watch the movie Se7en. That movie should disturb you a little, if not a lot. You may not like it at the time, but it will make a memorable impression and cause you to rethink things a little. It's healthy.
establishing my own taste from scratch would be ideal, but I don't have the time or the interest to engage in something so demanding. I'd like to touch on a few genres to get a taste of where to go, and maybe to learn what's critically considered 'important' or influential, which is why I came here; I just want a little direction from you guys before I set out to do that
Gonna post some charts for you because I don't have anything worthwile to do anyway. If you are a cunt and you are only shitposting and actually don't want to know anything then fuck you.
honestly IMDB is a good place to start
just have a browse and see what looks interesting and has a good rating
when you find what you like, you can start watching movies with lower ratings and by directors you've liked previously
Man, don't let the people on an anonymous imageboard tell you what's good or bad. See the films yourself. If you like them, good. What influence does it have what other people think about your taste in films?
You'e what's wrong with this board, if you help people you will only attract more newfags, look at what happened to other boards, there's a reason /a/ doesn't allow rec threads
