Havent seen a pairing as cute as them besides maybe Their Story, but I enjoy FF more. This is really well written and it's going at all the right speeds and is pretty realistic.
>there's something kind of creepy about it
I can see where you're coming from here. Some panels seem off in some way. But overall I do dig the art. Also makes for good reaction images.
Never say it was good. Some people here treat as it was that "messianic yuri" we are all waiting for, though. Frankly, to me it's kind of bland and tries to cover its lack of deep with sex.
kek, people waiting for a "messianic yuri" are fucking retarded.it doesn't matter how good a manga/anime is,it's always going to have detractors, specially on 4chin
since is full of hipsters that instantly hate everything once it gets popular among normies
I totally agree. But hey, some people still believe that "anime needs saving", that "edgy" isn't a buzzword, Madoka and Evangelion are "deconstructions", competent characters are all mary sues, and so on and so on.
Apparently this is in Korea somewhere.
Just reread the entire comic again. Never would I have thought that Seol-a would be the first one to realised her feelings.
I guess Norae's friend who described Norae as someone who's very difficult to understand/ get close too deeply is correct.
Love this manhwa too much. Would love an anime of it.
Are we reading the same manwha? Seol-a was probably the first to fall for No-rae (may have been love at first sight honestly), but it was No-rae who realized her feelings first.
Seol-a is just figuring out all the affection and attraction she's felt towards No-rae was not of a platonic nature.
Comparing WDTFS with Citrus is almost offensive. I like FF more but WDTFS gets better and the main character is funny and cute.
Anyway I'm excited for today/tomorrow's chapter, hoping for more fluffy moments.
Idk i don't think sarcasm is rude. It gets my point across, yet I'm not coming off as too soft.
Is there a way to get comico app to send notification when there's a new chapter? if so, any instructions will be appreciated /u/
Well they both feel awkward and probably dont want to make each other feel uncomfortable either. Let alone thinking they're setting themselves up to get hurt anon. It's hard if you don't know how someone really feels about you-- you don't want to come on strong or push them away or have it be one sided.
I hope not too. But I think she's making her compare Norae to the dead girl because maybe she realizes she liked the dead girl too and doesnt want the same bad outcome as that with Norae? Which kind of doesn't seem to make sense because Norae didnt shit talk her or push her away-- that I can remember, excuse me if I'm wrong on this-- I should go re-read again it if so.
I think maybe it's about her accepting the fact she maybe had a crush on a girl back then and maybe now realized it-- or comparing their friendship but trying to find out WHY or WHEN her and Noreas feels different. I think they're both trying to pinpoint their feelings and trying to understand them and it's mentally depressing/confusing for them both over the big "Well what if she doesn't feel the same? Do I pretend not to keep her closer?"
>"Well what if she doesn't feel the same? Do I pretend not to keep her closer?"
I thought that was already out of the way with Seola going to Norae's family house, keeping Norae by her side in her apartment, Norae letting Seola stay at her apartment and so on. They already made a statement
Norae did push her away. After she realized, she was kinda super bitchy and even told her she didnt want to be friends. After that she went to her family. Seol-a meanwhile had a to little flashes about dead girl and that led to the decision to follow Norae (or influenced). In fact we had alway little flashbacks to the dead girl in contrast to Norae, we only didnt know who she was
Well, I'm a bit disappointed I don't get to see them wake up in the same bed or at least more of them continuation of last chapter and we even got a surprised visit by Yuji... I hope Seo-la stops comparing No-rae to Yuji soon, and let go of Yuji before she properly confess.
But No-rae blowing kiss was hilarious, it made Seo-la blushed.
It was incredibly short. Being patient with FF is torture sometimes, even though we've had a steady diet of weekly chapters, hiatus notwithstanding.
I'm not sure where this Seolrae/Jihwan thing is going, but if it leads to progress, I'm all for it.
Maybe Jihwan can do for Seol-a what No-rae's brother did for No-rae
It's not nice to talk bad about dead girls, anon. I think its important its dealt with because dead high school friends are strangely influential and Seol-a is who she is because of it. FF was never fast paced,, so its appropriate to take time considering its been build up from the very beginning.
>i wonder if anyone else feel the same
There is just not much of Norae and Seola together. There is always someone else with them, be it ghosts, guys, family, friends...And it gets tiring, it's like ssamba teases the readers on purpose but she should be aware of a distrust it can bring
I care and the people who just want ssamba to hurry up and make them fug already without appreciating the care she's putting into their characterizations are annoying the fuck out of me.
We had that last chapter and Norae also just walked into the conversation so its really dumb to complain that they dont interact. Now that the ctual flashback is over we willl get both bits of dealing with dead girl and cute Norae.
I guess the hiatus left people craving more than anticipated
This is the first time we've been given any real insight into Seola's backstory and particularly why she has trust issues with other women. Also, her burgeoning sexuality, imo, though there's plenty of people who seem to want to think that she and Norea were completely ignorant and untouched until they met each other. I want to see them interact as well, but considering the fact that we also have guaranteed updates every week I'm happy with the pace so far.
>They finally realize their feelings
>Was expecting gay angst or fluff
>mfw Ghost Yuji chapter instead
Fuck this call me when something actually happens.
on the contrary. This thing with Yuji has been bother her for years, but now, she can finally close that page and put that behind.
The new of her death is really fresh for her, so of course, she still think about her but I think this is maybe the last we will see her (depending on the translation of course).
She need closure to start something with No-rae. So, when she will be over with that, all her thoughts will be toward No-rae.
I definitely think he has his suspicions. He actively persues No-rae immediately after witnessing their intimate moment.
Also, I just finished rereading this and Seola is gay as hell.
Jihwan must be on to Seol-a's fixation with No-rae. It's been obvious from the start that she's a raving dyke, he must have a hunch surely..
Plot twist jihwan is actually gayer than seola which is why he didn't tell her about his high school relationship. Just asked norae out so seola would stop pussying out.
What am I thinking nobody can out gay seola.
i still don't understand why everyone seems to already jump to the conclusion that seol-a was in love with yu-ji. it was never explicitly said and nor was it really implied heavily enough. yu-ji is seol-a's first close friend and that's that. if seol-a really was in love with her then there should've been some sort of epiphany or realization and acknowledgement now that she knows what she feels for no-rae and hence, she should've also been able to finally label what she actually felt for yu-ji in the past.
but there was never any of that realization. she never said anything along the lines of "hey, i think my feelings for yu-ji back then are similar to what i feel for no-rae now. she must've been by first love." still, she doesn't need to have been in love with yu-ji for her to feel the way she does now. seol-a's been awkward with girls her entire life and then comes along the very first female friend she's ever gotten close to. it's safe to assume she'd feel some sort of attachment or even admiration. and then she gets betrayed in her face and then finds out two years later that she's dead and seol-a will never be able to get closure. of course she'd react the way she did. again, just because she's breaking down whenever yu-ji comes up doesn't mean she was in love with her for seol-a to react like that.
if i'm missing an important scene or whatever that clearly says or implies yu-ji was seol-a's first love, then let me know. right now i honestly can't see why people are assuming that and it's starting to bother me because it seems as if i'm missing something since everyone else thinks differently.
This. I don't think Seol-a could ever fully get to the stage of liking someone romantically due to her problems with initially befriending them. I think she was getting there with Yuji but it never really panned out because she fucked her over (for whatever reason). It feels like Seol-a was mostly enamoured with her because she was her first "real" friend. I'd say at the very most it was an unrealised crush.
You kinda do things you are afraid of for the one you love. She could and did do that for No-rae. At the time she went after No-rae after the argument but most importantly those times she opened up to No-rae about her wanting someone to never leave her. Exposing her true vulnerabilities, if you will. She couldn't do that with Yuji (far as we are aware anyway). Maybe her behaviour back then was because she was immature and childish, but if you are immature and childish you probably aren't likely to be "in love" either. All this reaction from Seol-a right now just screams of regret. It doesn't necessarily show she was in love with Yuji. She just regrets not patching stuff up with her first best friend.
So I think No-rae is her real deal. Talk of first love with yuji just sounds cheap. No-rae IS the first love. Yuji is just a puzzle piece fitting into the bigger picture behind Seol-a's love for No-rae.
>So I think No-rae is her real deal. Talk of first love with yuji just sounds cheap. No-rae IS the first love.
You sound like a purityfag, anon. Even if No-rae wasn't her first love, that wouldn't cheapen her love for her one bit.
I partially agree with you. I dont think Seola was in love with Yuji. But I do think she did have some subtle (romantic) feelings/crush on Yuji that had got shot down by Yuji's betrayal before the feelings developed into something more categorizable/comprehensible. I think the reason Ssamba brought Yuji into the story was to say Seola got reminded of the similar vibe/tension when she's with Norae. When Seola followed Norae to her hometown, Seola just didnt want to repeat her history with Yuji, of never having resolved the conflicts. In fact she did mention it with Norae.
And when Seola finally realized that her feelings for Norae was romantic, she decided to go to that high school friend's wedding, maybe was to face her past with Yuji, only to find out Yuji was dead and Seola couldnt have that proper closure. Poor Seola.
The only thing I dont like, when Yuji was mentioned in the discussion, is the speculation that Yuji liked Seola too, and was jealous with Jihwan, blah blah blah. Oh please give me a break! This is not a story of Seola/Yuji. Ssamba will never give you a deeper look towards that direction.
Now that Ssamba has declared closure of Yuji's topic, lets all move on too, towards a future of Seolrae.
there were a few flashbacks of seol-a in high school shown in chapters 40 to 42. the beginning of ch 44 showed yuji (girl in flashbacks) as seol-a's imagination but still in the present time.
I'll never understand some people's feelings about this subject. I think having been in love/in a relationship before is better in most cases because it gives you a perspective on your feelings and experience so you're less likely to fuck things up.
She may not be fully pure, but she is still immature when it comes to love. Seola only dated around because she was 'bored' and 'dated whoever seemed decent' so we're not sure if she really did 'love' those guys she dated. I'm not sure if Seola is a virgin, since Ssamba has shown that she often goes clubbing and gets crazy drunk around guys.
Regardless, I still think Seola's gay awakening was better late than never. It's about time she started got into an actual, serious relationship.
And what future do you see for the protagonists? So far the manga has been pretty realistic, and being gay and living in Korea, doesn't seem to be something that is going to bring very much hapiness to any of them.
Regarding Seola's virginity, I myself think she's not a virgin anymore. Remember the extra pages at the end of Chapter 19, one of her (half) naked boyfriends was trying to wake her up for the sunrise. And considering her touchy personality and getting drunk around guys all the time, its a high possibility she's already had sex before
Considering itтАЩs taken at least 40+ chapters for them to even acknowledge they like each other, itтАЩll take another 100+ til they get married. Once they start dating, I assume most of the тАШactionтАЩ is going to happen behind closed doors or in private. As long as theyтАЩre not making out in public they wonтАЩt face that much negativity from the general public, although SeolaтАЩs situation is a little harder, since sheтАЩs popular in their university and tends to get gossiped about. The only time I remember homosexuality being mentioned is when No-Rae is gushing about her friend and she accuses her of тАШplaying for the other teamтАЩ so I think some of their younger friends will be at first shocked, since theyтАЩre both known for being previously straight but generally okay with it.
Unless all hell breaks loose and the rumour spreads like wildfire, they could always move to Australia since theyтАЩre both financially capable enough (which I think would be interesting, considering Ssamba mentions it all the time), which is generally more open and accepting compared to Korea. But for now, neither of them has shown so far to be conflicted with the fact they might be gay.Or has been bothered by the fact that theyтАЩre both girls, they seem to just be focused on whether or not their feelings are requited.
>As long as theyтАЩre not making out in public
What about handholding, hugs, kisses on the cheek, leaning in, being lovey dovey and sweet with eachother without going full porn in public? I think they might do that despite being in Korea
Yeah that far i got. But one chapter seola is with norae right after the accident, then shes at a wedding, then shes back with norae, then she wakes up in the bed after getting drunk at the wedding and meeting with sunbae and a norae walks in with no busted up face. I'm confused.
Dude, yeah. In the very introductory chapters, Seol-a is fixated on No-rae. And is pretty much immediately flirty. That whole thing where she whispered in No-rae's ear if the seat next to her was open.
I do hope Jihwan doesn't try to break them up or something. It'd be cool if he played a Kashiwagi-type Marimite role, the ultra gay good looking duo with Seol-a.
Hey there onee-samas, been waiting for a new FF thread. I was wondering- in the chapter where Seol-a and No-rae are cuddling and watching that movie- is the text in the box about liking etc from Seol-a or No-rae? I'm assuming No-rae since Seol-a seems to have legit fallen asleep towards the end.
No-Rae is just going through some gay-panic. Crushing on a seemingly 100% straight girl, telling her to fuck off, running away to her home town and then proceeding to continue talking to her despite realising her feelings. Seems like she does accept and acknowledge her feelings, but is merely suppressing them to keep their friendship intact.
Seola on the other hand, doesn't really seem to care and is much more confident/aggressive in pursuing her feelings, compared to No-Rae. Which I find endearing, yet strange considering she's never experienced this before, so how can she be so confident? I'd spill spaghetti all over the place.
Seol-a just isn't the spaghetti spilling type. Despite her issues making friends when she was younger, she's past that, and currently does not suffer any lack of confidence. She's just a straight forward gal. If Jih-wan does try to get between her and No-rae I might feel a bit sorry fro him, because I think Seol-a would tear him to pieces.
I think he is going to be the gay supporting friend. In chapter 25, he tells Seola "The only way for me to avoid such annoying situations is if you're by my side" then it cuts to a crowd of women. And during chapter 2, he's with some guy at the airport.
he did. in fact,if I remember correctly, there was a whole chapter dedicated to him and his flashback from when he met Norae for the first time, and how it was basically love at first sight. I think him being gay is just wishful thinking cause they're afraid he might come between Norae and Seola in later chapters(as if he would even stand a chance)
Yeah, that was my mistake. I re-read the whole series and I was the anon who made two wrong assumptions. These two things being that No-rae hasn't realized her feelings, and that Ji-Hwan wasn't truly interested. I had forgotten his entire confession, but No-Rae already turned him down and clearly loves Seol-a, so no chance no way.
There won't be any competition between Ji-Hwan and Seol-a, since No-Rae already rejected him. Though I do believe Ji-Hwan will be the first person that will know about No-Rae's feelings for Seol-a.
Jihwan is a good guy, but unfortunately the story isn't about him so that's that. The Korean readers think he's a nice guy but they want him to "get lost" sooooo it's safe to say that's the general consensus.
No one was arguing about it. We were just debating about whatever we could debate about while waiting for the next chapter, and because theres nothing better to do. We dont know how to draw fan art. Duh
Well, yeah. No one wants him to mess up the official couple. Also, nice he may be, but he is not even close to be better than the actual main characters.
If you want a nice male character who is well liked, go to Their Story. People don't mind Mopehead (Qi Fang) because he is not threatening and, in fact, is mostly supportive to the main couple.
Not that anon-- but I think he's figured it out right now that there's something going on between them now considering he said to himself "This feels familliar." Like when Seola was trying to make Yuji jealous by talking to him and then No-Rae that day they went out to eat. If anything now I feel like he's trying to make them both jealous of each other to help them maybe realize they both like each other. Like be supportive but be sneaky about it. Is what I'm thinking. He does like No-Rae but I think he's starting to notice they're into each other more then him.
Ji-hwan wasn't supposed to confess his feelings to No-rae yet, but he felt something else with Seo-la being all close to No-rae. He was impatient and rush it just to get rejected. He didn't really build up anything in order for her to like him in that way. They barely hang out or talk so it was really a defeat for him. In my opinion, he knew for Seo-la it doesn't matter be it a guy or a girl.
Can't wait for new chapter! Hoping for more Seo-la and No-rae though.
My initial response towards Ji-Hwan was rage, but now I want to thank him. His affectionate behavior towards No-rae is going to force Seol-a to take action on her feelings immediately, and that's exactly how it's playing out.
This chapter was much better than last week, even though I panicked when it started with a flashback.
I'm not that anon, but why would he need to use sarcasm? They end the chapter holding hands and No-rae blushing in embarrassment.
Contrast that to No-rae responding to Ji-Hwan's sudden embrace with a comforting pat you'd expect from a friend and no romantic tension whatsoever.
All it really did was put Seol-a in "get your hands off my woman" mode.
Holding hands! So cute, I want to know what Ji-Hwan told No-Rae.
Yeah, that's a pretty silly way to frame this scene. It's only been two chapters since both of them finally realized they're in love with each other, and they're holding hands already.
Would you rather that or Seol-a/No-rae trying to hide their romantic feelings because they think they're doing it out of consideration for each other's friendship?
But pace of the series has been methodical but effective, and now we're at the payoff.
The development of their relationship has been handled very realistically, all things considered.
>Would you rather that or Seol-a/No-rae trying to hide their romantic feelings because they think they're doing it out of consideration for each other's friendship?
Please don't give them ideas! kek, the pace is ok, I don't want to lose my weekly dose of FF
We're also going to see how dense No-rae is, because Seol-a sucks at hiding her feelings and she's not even trying to when she and No-rae have alone time.
No-rae isn't an air head in the least bit. Shouldn't be much longer. Maybe she'll surprise us and confess first.
I am the anon who asked, and I asked because you sounded truthful, but I know it could have been sarcasm. And I like the pace, but you have to admit it is a bit slow. At one point, I thought it was just a story of friendshipping.
I don't know why some making a fuss about Ji-hwan love for No-rae, it's very clear that he's been rejected already and he's graduating soon which means they won't really be able to hang out as much. In my opinion, he's good guy and he deserves to keep at least that much of friendship even after that rejection. Don't forget that that our MCs feelings for each other are already mutual, just no confession yet. He definitely felt something about Seo-la's affection for No-rae and knowing the fact that he likes No-rae, I think he's more afraid No-rae will get hurt because he know Seo-la too well already.
What I'm afraid is how the story might end. I definitely do not want the author to end the story after few chapters of them getting together. That's going to hurt more than all the flashbacks and the guys they been with.
So he knows Seol-a (the flower) wants No-Rae (the butterfly), but he probably doesnt know No-Rae want Seol-a right, or why would he recommend her to let go if things dont work out?
anyway I want to marry ji-hwan.
I don't get the Ji-Hwan hate right now. Yes, he's a smug little ass that loves to grind Seol-a's gears but at least he has the decency to step back when he's been rejected. This chapter has given me a better perspective on him, he's 100% caught onto No-rae and Seol-a's feelings for each other and now he's actually giving Seol-a the push! Like, what a champ!
And, I love the imagery he created for the story, with No-rae being the elusive butterfly and how Ji-hwan realises that if he had caught her, her existence would be "pointless and sad" so better off letting her fly free and settling on a flower (Seol-a!) so at least both of them will be happy.
Holy shit, ssamba is a real writer. Seriously!
I agree. Most of /u/ probably hates him because he's a straight man that (in their eyes) exists to come between Norae's and Seola's relationship, but I think there's a lot more than that. His presence just kind of regulates the atmosphere of the entire story. Without him I'm pretty sure FF would seem like just another manhwa where A and B fall in love and the plot ends there.
Jihwan isn't just some guy to hold our two protagonists back from being together. He's a legitimate character in the story. Even more-so in my eyes after this chapter when he cheered Seola on.
Ok im a bit confused here, after jihwan says it was pointless & sad cuz the butterfly was dead, in the next frame appear 3 girls, 2 of them seem to be norae but the one with black hair does not look anything like her, was that dead girl ?? If so ... when he talked about the dead butterfly was he talking about seola's first 'crush' ????
Ji-hwan knows No-rae at least has a strong affection for Seol-a. During the flashback in his internal monologue the bit where he says "I've already let you go several times", he thinks about No-rae and her ex and No-rae with Seol-a. It doesn't make sense that he would be thinking about No-rae with Seol-a if he didn't know about No-rae's feelings for Seol-a in that particular scene.
None of them have the dead girl.
First panel was Norae when her ex kissed her in front of Ji-hwan. (ch 24)
Second and third were from when Seola pressed herself against Norae's back after they overheard those girls talking smack. (ch 23)
He knew if he tried to date Norae, she would be miserable with him like the dead butterfly. Hence the "It can be such a tragedy how people know themselves so well" line.
such a cute chapter! Great to see Seol-a be willing to show her feelings to No-rae, not just thinking about them. I expect a few more chapters of innocent flirting before the confession comes!
Looks cute and light-hearted. I think we (and seola/norae) deserve a break from all the heavy emotional stuff. Hopefully ssamba is gearing us for the next important arc.
>please let it lead to angst free confession ssamba-sama
This chapter 46 was short but not bad. I liked it, as we got a glimpse at Seola's dad excited to see his daughter only to find out that she ditched him for a date haha
According to Ssamba's blog, next chapter is a special/extra. Usually that means a break from the main story. I think Ssamba is planning on a long chapter with something awesome happeining next 2 weeks. Maybe the feelings will get out on their date. Gosh i cant wait cant wait.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels like something is going to happen on this date. They're going to an area without as many people and Hye-kyung is conveniently out of the picture.
Ssamba surely won't squander this opportunity for the next big step in their relationshiop
>Ghost Yuji chapter
>A chapter about nothing
Next week is going to be a fucking special mark my words.
Why are you surprised? The author explicitly said so at the end of last chapter.
The anon typesetting it just didn't include the author's end note.
>A/N: Due to my carelessness, this chapter turned out to be short. I'm very sorry...уЕауЕа
>Next week will be a special chapter.
Hey I just got back from my station placement (whoooo!)
What's been the happenings so far? Last I heard was the hiatus, and we had a fair amount of people doing things for the translation... what's the going on now? Halmoni still kicking? We still using that dumb fucking overlay system?
Well, that would suck. I mean, nothing wrong with taking time to build up character and relationship. But most of the best parts of a relationship is what happen after the couple get together. Far too many yuri ends just as they get there. I hope FF is better than that, specially since they spent so much time already and plan to have twice as many chapters.
Yeah likely. I'd be happy with anything but I'm really hoping for something like the sex scene depicted at the end of Girlfriends. Implied sex without explicits. I can imagine Ssamba doing quite sensual panels including face/hand shots while they're feeling each other out, with a running monologue from one of their POVs saying shit like
"Her face is so red.I've always wanted her. Since the beginning". Yeah in my head this is Seol-a speaking.
Damn. I miss FF.
