5th Concert BD (Go Go! Love Live~Dream Sensation) was released on September the 30th
Aqours 1st Single has been leaked
General Elections to determine the leader of the 2nd Single will be held tomorrow,
Looks like the new kids are already, ahem, getting to know each other better.
An unverified rumor goes that Emitsun and Kussun, in days gone by (before Radio Garden and NozoHono Variety Box) were made to go on the down low after their respective management stepped in to keep them from getting too affectionate on Twitter and other public channels.
Hopefully the Sunshine CVs' agencies know better than to go against what we've expected, in this day and age.
It's nice to see these two getting to know each other already given the two of them both like Anime.
Since Suwa wants to live in Hidamari Apartment Room 101 maybe Ainya can be the occupant of Room 102?
I am personally looking forward to Arisa getting to know Emitsun. They acted together in the Phantasy Star stageplay. Unless she knew about it beforehand, there must have been a million things going through Emitsun's mind in the past months after finding out her fellow PS actor became a School Idol.
Anju/Kanako meets anyone from µ's would also be great since they are both LL fangirls.
Is it not allowed here? Is it even relevant about the discussion of Love Live?
Ok just to pleased you, will not use it on my future posts.
Because Gaia is the only place on the internet where people have ever used that emoticon.
I'm not the biggest fan of them myself, but flipping out like that just makes you look super immature. Which is a bit ironic.
Learn to lurk and understand the board's posting norms before you embarrass yourself more.
There already are so many obviously ESL posters shitting up the board, Mugino I'm looking at you, that you aren't doing yourself any favors in using poorly-cropped image replies and awkward grammar.
Now I will cease before >>1884308 starts crying about people "flipping out".
I don't get quite follow this, but this is what I got
Right, so you go on a completely unwarranted rant and think you're justified in looking down your nose at me for criticizing that.
There's no need for wannabe board police here. Either a post is breaking the rules or it isn't. Trying to force "board culture" with "posting norms" is a fool's errand.
I like how you've got such a vendetta that you're straight up sticking words in my mouth. It's not about what's welcome. It's about what's allowed. You'll get nowhere by throwing a fit about someone doing something you don't like, especially if they aren't breaking any rules. Report it, ignore it, or do both.
Are they going to make my leave my Honk and my RinPana for some upstart sailor girls? I don't know if I'm ready for this :(
This happens with every Idol Franchise that introduces a spin-off group, doesn't it?
No-one is asking you to leave the original girls.
They are just giving you a new set of girls to like and buy mercs/cds from.
Why say that when μ's are still featured in the November 2015 Dengeki G's, with Honoka on the cover and doing Q&A as well?
Plus, HEART to HEART will be prereleased in SIF next week and the new unit singles are still scheduled to drop over the coming 3 months.
The respective CVs may be doing more solo work now, but μ's aren't out of the picture just yet.
I just watched it here
Definitely some shades of Bokura no Live Kimi to no Life
-Leader stops and pauses outside school before running to it
-Begins a Idol recruitment with friends
-Foreign character is initially alone but then MC gathers her friends to recruit her into the group.
Also, the SS RikoChika is now ready to set sail.
Pretty much a nice introduction to Aqours.
What's surprising on the PV is the emphasis on RikoChika. I don't think there was any indication of that on the materials. In a sense, Riko does fill Umi's role as the awkward second year. Still, I'm fine with the multiple shipping options, that is what makes the franchise appealing after all.
Might need to tweak your goggles.
Reluctant exchange student who gets dragged into something fun by a genki girl has yuri potential.
Come to think, this is starting to sound a bit like Mitsu.
Other potential pairs with Chika
Kanan- Childhood Friends
Dia- Defrosting Seitokaichou who gradually warms up to Chika.
Ruby- Shared interest in Idols.
From Mari and Kanan's story
"When Mari first moved onto the island--- I remember being rather surprised.
It was just, seeing a blonde girl in the countryside that is Uchiura was surprising enough, but to think that she was living on the island.
I was only mildly convinced when I heard that there was a girl from a resort hotel living on the island but--- if it was such a rich family, the fact that they would stay on such an island where it's impossible to get anywhere without taking a ferry was surprising.
Everyone's been gossiping about Mari being rich and beautiful, saying this and that but--- I don't pay heed to any of that.
It was just, when I saw the figure of Mari on one of her occasional horse-riding sessions on the island--- Somehow I felt she looked a bit good.
Just a bit--- cool
My hobby is diving, and Mari's is horse-riding, and in truth--- I'm certain these have absolutely no relation to being idols, but right now, that's what the two of us are and that really gives me a mysterious feeling. Even now, I still don't really understand how it came to be like this, but--- we're third-years. From here onward, we'll be taking care of everyone while doing our best! "
That leaves 3 members waiting to have potential pairings set up. I wonder who the Chuu2 will be paired with?
>looks like a fusion of Umi and Nico
>has Umi's closet chuuni-ness and dialed it up to 11
>has overly confidence completed with persona like Nico
UmiNico's lovechild confirmed.
She's really cute though. So far I really like all of them for being a bit more distilled and mixed around from the original group's formula, and not like they're going to can μ and the sub units successful recording career just because, so it's a good future.
Not a fan of Yoshiko as Chuu2 is not my favourite archetype.
I will have to say this group might be easier to get into due to the lack of squeeky voices, a common complaint of Kotori and Hanayo. Of course, we have not heard them sing solo yet.
Speaking of intros, what does /u/ think of the girls voices?
I'm surprised that Maru ended up with a deep voice.
Also /u/ might like that Dia hijack in Ruby's intro.
The squeaky voices for the original group is odd because it seems like it was a conscious decision on someone's part to go squeaky. Because you listen to their speaking voices and they are decidedly less squeaky. And as far as actual voice acting goes Aya Uchida is particularly capable and did a way better voice in Trinity Seven than the voice she does for Kotori.
Most of these voices are nothing like I would have expected since I've never heard these people before. Which I suppose was true for most of the Love Live ones as well. Dia in particular took me by surprise, but I can get into that voice. Some of them do feel immediately appropriate despite the unfamiliarity though, like Mari's.
In my opinion, the best one is probably Ruby's. I was not prepared for the blast of moe. She is really earning that #1 favorite spot.
On this day Kimi no Kokoro wa was officially released. Also the movie will be out in PH today.
Finally the polls are now open to determine the center of the 2nd Single. You can vote until 13/10 11:59 JST.
Results will be published at the end of this month.
Firstly pressed go to begin voting.
1. Obviously your candidates
4. Write a comment. I hope someone over at Dengeki understands English.
Since I doubt many of /u/ will be able to read the names, they're in the same order from top to bottom as they are from left to right for their profile on the Sunshine site.
As expected of Nico. Still looks barely legal even in her 40's.
Since this is a a recurring order, I'll presume these are the default trios.
Chika and friends- Pretty standard stuff
Dia/You/Yoshiko- I wonder what will happen? Dia wants a Min'you-inspired song (traditional Japanese song) while You wants a sea shanty and Yoshiko wants to sing about angels and demons.
RubyMaruMari- Mari as the 3rd wheel?
>RubyMaruMari- Mari as the 3rd wheel?
Totally not BiBi.
I have to listen to the intro again. But after listening to it for the first time, I actually liked Ruby's intro then Yohane and You.
I think I am the only one who likes the voices of Hanayo and Kotori. Lol.
Reminder that Eli went to parfait date with Nico in side story when she first join moose.
To summarize: It's Eli. She does whatever she wants.
Okay, so. I had this dream last night, and Nico took a gun and shot herself in the head. Then Maki saw it and shot herself in the head too, because why live without Nico. But then Nico got back up because it was a trick like in Romeo and Juliet, but then she saw Maki had killed herself so she shot herself in the head again and died for real. It was kind of romantic though because they died in each other's arms. What do you make of this?
What's especially odd is that everyone else was there doing their own thing (considering the guns, possibly a gangster staredown?) so Nico and Maki went through this whole thing pretty quietly without showing much emotion about the whole business. I think that's true love.
I certainly don't hate them, but some of their voices took getting used to. I think this is probably because they're more suited to singing than voice acting, but as they settled into their roles it got better.
There's a bunch of tracks on that single in the OP that just have the characters talking. You don't have to download it though, you can go to the individual character pages on the Love Live wiki and listen to them there. They're already uploaded. The "greetings from" such and such.
Tbh, i don't like Maki's voice when I first watch the anime but I got used to it in the long run. It's understandable that Pile is not a voice actress. But Maki have improved so much since the first season.
Ruby is from the spin-off group Aqours. Officially the spin-off is known as Love Live Sunshine. The best way to think about it is LL's Cinderella Girls.
Imagine Love Live transplanted to a small coastal town in Shizuoka complete with a transfer student and you have Sunshine.
As for Ruby, she is basically the obligatory shy girl and an androphobe to boot. You can read more about the new group at the Love Live wikia.
For now, we will be limited to CD releases and fan polls. They might still be doing the character Q and A over twitter.
At the moment, we have no clue when there will be a Sunshine anime let alone Sunshine characters in SIF.
I actually like Hanayo and Kotori's especially Kotori's singing.
BTW this is a minor point but if you listen to Mari's intro (and recognise some loan words), you'll notice that her ethnicity has been retconned. She is now a Japanese-American whose American father owns a hotel chain in Italy.
Oh. That's a shame. And I doubt it, NISA fucking sucks.
Anyway, while I'm here, have the sexy thing I found. So something can be gotten out of this.
SLAMS HANDS ON TABLE
Superior Quality mv has been uploaded
'Plot' begins 3 minutes in with Chika trying to recruit Riko into her group. Naturally she refuses at first.
The New Power Trio?
Kanan is Chika's childhood friend and You sits next to Chika.
The scene where they fail at dancing. Maru is next to Yohane again.
Thankfully Kanan is there to break her fall oh and yes Yoshiko has an umbrella.
Dia gets angry. Not good enough for a potential wife of a Kurosawa heiress.
Got to admire Chika, she runs barefoot, in the rain just to recruit a girl into her har---School Idol group.
You may have guessed it after watching the MV by now but Riko and Chika are joint lead singers. That could explain the RikoChika focus.
Thematically I like it.
Riko (might be) from Otonakizaka. It's obvious from her uniform but there's no confirmation in her character intros.
Chika is the Red Leader of the new group.
In a way, it's signifies the old passing the torch to the new.
She did mention that Uranohoshi has even less students than the once about to close Otonokizaka. My guess is she was in Otonokizaka before Muse formed and save the school, which makes her classmate of MakiRinPana since there was only one class in first year.
Anju (Chika)- 19
Rikako (Riko)- Himitsu
Shuka (You)- Secret
SuwaSuwa (Kanan)- 21
Arisa 'Yellow Buster' (Dia)- 21
Ainya (Mari)- 20
Aikyan (Yoshiko)- 22
Kanako (Hanamaru/Ola/Zura)- 22
Furirin (Ruby)- Not telling
The average age (until the remaining three reveal their birth year) is 20. For further trivia, the oldest at the time of µ's debut would have been Yoshino at 26.
Anju's VA is about the same age as Rippi when she debut. Makes me wonder, does Rippi like being called a senpai?
It's possible that what we hear in this CDs might not be their final voice, some of them may tweak their character voices over the coming years. For example, Rin was much more soft-spoken in the Wonderful Rush intro.
It is interesting to think that the seiyuu are highly in favor of certain pairings considering how there's still that big stigma against gay stuff in Japan. Leave it to Love Live to encourage such open-mindedness.
We will have to wait and see. Maybe they will be another Moe Metal Song?
That is if they don't retcon that away as well. Listening to Hanamaru's introduction, she did not end all her sentences with Zura.
I personally would like to hear Ainya try to sing a Andrea Botticelli song (in Italian)
Weird that they'd already be doing retcons honestly. They literally just wrote the previous introductions and then they're like "actually nevermind." Well, but it's best to get any changes out of the way early before people have gotten too used to it, so that's smart.
She should do Nessun dorma. I like that.
If we are still discussing fanfiction.
I'm not sure what to think of this one.
All of µ's parents are lesbians who were forced to break up with their girlfriends (read Minami and Nishikino) and now it's up to the second generation to get them together again.
The backstory is that HonkPapa is actually Kousaka's (HonkMum) roommate who she wears as a beard (or whatever lesbians call a pretend boyfriend) because HonkMum's Mother (or Honoka's Grandma) was homophobic. Later on, Kousaka gives birth to Honoka via sperm donation with HonkDad as the Donor.
I imagine it'll get more complicated if/when Kousaka gets together again with her past girlfriend Yazawa.
I checked out Mimorin's blog post to see what this was all about.
Does she really expect people to believe Ucchi just so happened to also be wearing a dress of the same make? Really? Just like they expect us to believe Mimorin "just so happened" to see Ucchi's new album on TV, eh?
It's also interesting that, as with their characters, these two are very similar in height and build. I would put money on their dresses being of the same size.
futago koude has been quite the trend for a while, but coincidentally? Definitely planned
while I don't find it interesting,I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same size, but I wouldn't be surprised either if it's not. Well, preferences varies.
Nice goggles, anon
anon pls, keep that delusion to yourself
Apparently, the dress costs 13,200 yen: https://twitter.com/cowboybibimbop/status/652180925145485312
Mimorin I still can understand because she has a tendency for splurging on impulse buys sometimes. This coming from Ucchi, on the other hand, is a tad surprising. So it therefore begets the question of when and how they both would own one... unless it's a sponsored gift or something.
Could have been a different brand. Plain dresses are common. Design looks tad different and Mimo's blog said nothing about it either.
The only surprising bit is how both of them are fashioned similarly.
It is possible that Ucchi had the dress prior to Mimo's
Pricewise, I thought it'd be a bit... normal?
I don't think the line you said is related to what Ucchi is wearing.
All I saw on that bit was how Mimo mentioning that knit dress (snidel) is comfy to wear
The previous line was something about her one-piece dress design being cute (The swirl bits I bet)
The only relevant bits was
but futago koude doesn't necessarily imply the same dress. It implies similarity, not the same brand.
If you take a look on snidel 2015 catalog, I could not find any one-piece knit dress that looks like hers'. You'd find Mimo's easily though.
Then again I could be wrong, on either translation or catalog bits.
If I happen to be wrong, I'd be happy to learn what mistake I did just then.
The focus in the part that mentioned Ucchi is that they happened to wear dresses that were alike (whether by the same label and of the same make or otherwise). So yes, it does seem that the dresses they are wearing may or may not be exactly the same.
The way >>1886174 had come across made it somewhat confusing what you were saying, and the context suggests that Mimorin was pleasantly surprised that their outfits matched. If it really was coincidental, though how are we to tell.
As it were, isn't a common way to get somebody's attention doing something just like that person?
>The focus in the part that mentioned Ucchi is that they happened to wear dresses that were alike
That's what the whole context with the picture was, until...
>Could have been a different brand. Plain dresses are common. Design looks tad different and Mimo's blog said nothing about it either.
Referring to Ucchi's, which wasn't written on Mimo's blog.
>Except she did? Unless snidel have made other such dresses.
>The way >>1886174 had come across made it somewhat confusing what you were saying
>This coming from Ucchi, on the other hand, is a tad surprising.
What I get from reading that twice, it's either
>Anon implied Ucchi bought one for this futago koude purpose
>Implying the product is the same makers and price
> So it therefore begets the question of when and how they both would own
>Mimo just got hers'
>Dunno Ucchi, does "When" or "How" matters when it could have been in past or recent.
To be fair, if I have to assume, it would NOT be coincidental, but it could have been. It's not like it's unrealistic for it to be a coincidence.
These seiyuss are cute w/ their similar fashion. That's that.
I wouldn't rather go that far and assume something which had a lot of different possibilities, like how or when they got their knit dresses, or implying Ucchi did "This" or "That" when it could have been something else
Yes, this is /u/Yuri. We ships, we pairs, we discuss
, some shitpost and shipfagging, but far stretched assumptions with multi-possibilities are something else
While it remains difficult to tell what it is you are trying to say here, why don't we simply take the dress thing for what it is, at face value.
Then again, what is it with the opinion/implication (generally speaking) that Ucchi is the party doing [xyz thing] in consideration of Mimorin, which seems oddly prevalent? Given what we know of their interaction it often is Mimorin who wants Ucchi to notice her and/or is paying attention to Ucchi, than the other way round. Imi wakannai.
I'm taking it at face value, until someone made some assumptions and implications which isn't necessarily true.
about Mimo -> Ucchi, yes. I think most people know about that but. Imi wakannai
I wonder why they retconned her ethnicity to become Japanese-American.
That's already been done before, I would have perferred she stayed Italo-French which I have yet to seen.
Of course, that could just be that I'm an Francophile and a Italophile.
Not the anon you are replying to, but it's always been obvious that the cast have their favored character pairings. NozoEli and NicoMaki especially are supported not only by the respective CVs behind them, but also the other members as well.
However, it also isn't accurate to attribute open-mindedness to the franchise or cast; the voice acting industry is quite accepting of same-sex relationships, fictional or not, simply because the nature of their work involves yaoi/yuri pairings and since many voice actors and actresses have romantic tension of some kind while often also marrying late if at all. Tamura Yukari once discussed the phenomenon of fangirls shipping her with Mizuki Nana, and how they'd rather she and Nana get married than to some unknown randoms (to paraphrase).
Mid-way results release.
You is currently first with Ruby coming second.
Riko is in the top 3 again.
This is troublesome. I'm worried that Sunshine is going to make the same mistake as GBF Try and just give Chika a big harem instead of pairing off everyone perfectly like the original did. Sunrise always seems to throw completely different staff on their second seasons and forgets what made the original so good.
It's still too early to draw any conclusions. Sunshine might not even get an anime production, or if it does, it could be much later from now.
Furthermore, the writing staff at Sunrise only gave us part of the characterization for the original 9, they had no part in the audio dramas or any of the written material. If you're concerned, you should be concerned about whether God ships your ships, not what Sunrise will do.
And inb4 "but NozoEli only became popular because of the anime", there are plenty of suggestions that God already saw them as a romantic pairing before then.
Why is You so effing cute?
I was never ever one for sporty girls, but there's just something about her.
Further to µ's, and Jolno (with fripSide) and Mimorin, Pile has been announced to be appearing on Music Japan: https://pid.nhk.or.jp/event/PPG0269283/index.html
Being affiliated with a major music label really is helping her solo career much more than what Spacey was doing.
Why are we saying God now? Also, I think the anime is going to be very soon thanks to the original Love Live anime doing so well for Love Live. I fully expect it to happen next year.
Harems can be good, especially with no men, but GBFT handled it in a very disappointing way. Better hope they don't call in that director.
God = Kimino Sakurako. The only writer any member has ever addressed as sensei. Not Hanada, not the directors, not even Hata Aki.
Also, the first season of the anime did well because there already was an established fanbase, and as some detractors would claim, because the DVDs/BDs were bundled with raffle tickets to the 3rd Anniversary Live, a sales tactic which carried on to season 2.
It's definitely asking too much to expect current fans to all get on board Sunshine, and Sunrise, for all the poor decisions they are known to make, understand that. Aqours have to prove that they can carry a series on their own, or at least provide a return on investment. Otherwise any Sunshine anime will be plagued with the same "new characters aren't anywhere as interesting as old characters" problems which tend to make expansions do poorly.
Try problem was how rushed it was. Kuroda, the main writer, is good if you give him time to plan, but Sunrinse rushed to make a season 2 to cash in the success that season one had, and effectively killing any chance for it to become anther cashcow.
I've read Chinese scanlations of the NozoNico books and all I can say is, Kanbayashi did an excellent job for both the art and plots, just as we can come to expect from her. Whether you ship NozoNico as friendship or romantically, these are worthwhile reads. There's also a panel where Maki makes the most ridiculous face as Nico and Nozomi run off together, which makes me laugh every time.
Sadly I have no means to contact the Chinese scanlators so we can only hope a kind soul will provide. And hopefully a decent scanlator will pick them up.
The thing about these three is that any permutation of pairing them off is entirely workable. If we switch the roles around it could be
> Soramaru: the MC who amasses romantic interests anywhere she goes by just being her usual self
> Mimorin: confesses to MC at every turn and they both claim to be "like family"
> Pile: says Soramaru is her "dear partner", often gets spotted having her gaze and attention on the oblivious MC
> Pile: "If I were a guy, I wanna have a harem so I can be surrounded by girls"
> Mimorin: the target of many affections, but people (fans) keep bugging her about Pile
> Soramaru: probably spent 3 years subtly and unsubtly getting Pile into Eva and now they have another common interest
Toss in any other member into the mix for even more pairing excitement!
I tried to edit and translate what I could to give this some context.
On the topic of Eva:
> THE archetypal tsundere
> awkward at conveying her feelings for the person she likes
> gets upset about her love interest not noticing her
> has a Nice Girl for bestie
> OP as all get out
> team tsundere (acknowledged by the IRL μ's)
> awkward at conveying her feelings for the person she likes
> gets upset about her love interest not noticing her
> nice girl Hanayo is one of her besties
> multitalented for her age, and also filthy rich
Nico and Pile also have a large number of shared similarities: http://dorple.tumblr.com/post/126842728332/imagine-this-though
The day Pile finally caved in and started to watch Eva must have been very illuminating for her.
That's not bad editing, you could honestly do a pretty acceptable job of providing a full English version yourself if you wanted. Though I recognize that's still a lot of work so I can understand not wanting to. I certainly don't work.
Thank you. I wouldn't mind translating, but I only will do it with the actual Japanese raws, not translating a translation. This here is a rare exception.
I'm sure those who translate other people's translations have good intentions, but I find it a disservice because there always are things in the original that will be lost in the process.
>Nico and Pile also have a large number of shared similarities
I thought you were referring to her personality, though. Thanks for the link btw.. So wait, was she the one who cosplayed as Asuka or it was Sora?
That time again?
EmiUcchi- Ucchi as Emi's wife.
SoraPi- NicoMaki fantasies get taken one step too far
RippiShikaco- Shikaco takes the lead with her kouhai
NanjoxAqours- So many innocent kouhais to take advantage of.
What would life be like in the Nishi-- Kurosawa household?
For one thing, Soramaru and Pile have repeatedly shown that they adore and admire each other for who they are, out of character. Simplifying it to just "NicoMaki fantasies" is very rude.
They both ship NicoMaki. We get it. But as >>1887053 pointed out, Pile, on her own non-Love Live program, in a personal capacity, called Soramaru her "dear partner". Soramaru has, for her part, always been sensitive to the dorky side of Pile, and once said that she "is unexpectedly the sort to be easily embarrassed" (how did she learn that?). The chemistry shared between them onstage is palpable, but there are plenty of grounds to ship them while not factoring in their characters' relationship at all.
If Shikaco has a crush on anybody, you can be sure that she won't say it in so many words.
Hell, in the LisAni 14.1 interview, the interviewer compared them to "boyfriend and girlfriend" and she was like "lol yeah, we make a weird couple, huh".
μ's guesting on NHK Music Japan is going to be broadcast tomorrow.
Given that bizarre Tsubasa/Maki scene in the movie, it'd make for some strange scenarios.
> "Funny story, sweetie, I used to have the biggest schoolgirl crush on Auntie Tsubasa"
> "So did your other mama"
It's been updated.
Predictably enough, all of µ's have ended up in relationships similar to their parents (i.e. KotoMaki, NishikinoMinami, HonoNico, KousakaYazawa).
Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing.
My only complaint here is when Granny Minami ends up accepting Minami's Mama lesbianism a bit too fast for my liking (about 10 sentences). It could have been a plotpoint considering how vehemently opposed she was in the Second Chapter.
While we're on the subject of Love Live fanfiction, is there any story that is legitimately epic? And I use that word as seriously as possible. Something that really justifies the use of that word the way it's supposed to be used, and not just the way people throw it around for the hell of it.
"Epic" is a subjective adjective in the first place, though I am somewhat partial to http://archiveofourown.org/works/4059712/chapters/9136441 (nearing its end) and http://archiveofourown.org/works/4410878/chapters/10017824 (7 chapters and ongoing).
Both are quite longrunning and do fairly well at keeping the characters IC yet getting some interesting worldbuilding done too. That said, I find most angst-for-drama commonly seen in English fics not done very well (please stop killing off Nico), and consider writers who can pull off slice-of-life and adventure stories better. It takes skill to make the simple things engaging. If that is not to your tastes, then these may not be for you.
Re-re-requesting if anyone has this. It's out of stock and I want it bad enough to pay for scans or shipping.
I have it. Though I'm not really in a position to scan it, and I'd rather keep my copy myself. I suppose I could take photos, but I'm not sure if they'd be any good.
Sorry I can't be of any more help
If you can take photos, I think any remotely skilled editor can touch them up.
I've read the stuff this circle puts out. That there aren't enough people who know of them and the excellent work they do is a painful shame. The English fandom especially need to open their eyes beyond just Ooshima; there are plenty other good NicoMaki artists, who actually can write them in-character, whose books are never shared or translated.
I ;_; with these ones, you should give it a try, they're not that long
The list at >>1888353 is proving the point made by >>1887302 about how angst for drama isn't usually done well in English fics. My hypothesis is that such fics tend to be written by teenagers who, in the kind of regrettable autism as to be expected of that immaturity, think ANGST ANGST ANGST equates good writing.
I also saw the ending of Red Ribbon coming a mile away, it was that predictable.
there's no rape
>going trough traumatic experiences
>dealing with ridiculous amounts of angst
not that ridiculous
did you even read them?
yeah the ending of red ribbon is too obvious but still hit me
i don't know if there are good angst/drama fics in english but the ones I listed are the 'best' I could find, there are some good drama fanfics but they are not available in english
Looking through violence-related tags, I severely underestimated how many edgy Love Live fics there would be. Not that I'm against it, but holy shit. I know Love Live is a big deal in Japan but the extent of its reach is impressive. I'm just surprised how damn popular it is here too. And not just here, everywhere. There's something in all sorts of languages.
Oh, I'm the one that didn't read?
In Amada Mia, Nico is raped by some dude in her past (fic takes place years after the anime) and gets pregnant because of it. Maki suffer severe injuries during a accident and can't have children anymore.
In Love Marginal, Kotori lost a leg and a eye due to multiple lacerations, although I don't think the fic details the process, I didn't read much further than chapter 2.
Pretty sure that counts as rape and mutilation.
I've read Lucia's past fics before although I never managed them. I guess it's pretty cool that she's now the admin of LLWikia.
Since you recommended it, I'll try to finish this one.
Which member of μ's is a fan of analingus?
LuciaHunter is one of those "hipster" authors who, despite their clumsy writing in terms of vocabulary and technique (songfics in 2015?), nevertheless made a name for themselves by virtue of being among the first to write in the fandom, at least in English. I can understand not being able to make it through fics by him/her, the copious use of ridiculous epithets, "orbs" as synonyms for "eyes", assorted purple prose which really should have gone out of fashion last century, and so on, make for a cumbersome read.
Being admin of a wikia doesn't really add so much to their cred as it appears at first glance, though that is unrelated to their writing ability and a story for another topic of discussion.
You're free to try and finish the fic, of course, but my opinion is that you don't lose out in not doing so.
Speaking of fanfiction, this new one made me laugh.
Pic cause it's related, sort of.
It's like that NZ Horror movie with WereSheeps. More hilarious then horrific.
For the sake of immersion though, the writer could have made it a less literal translation to story.
It really breaks immersion when you read R/UR/SR card.
Go ahead and do it then. With numbers like 777, I feel like this is our lucky day.
lso, I'm glad you don't do AU shit. The only thing AU screams to me is "I don't know how to write a story with these characters in their own world."
my bad, I thought you were talking about the angst/drama fanfics, but yeah those things happened but it's not that bad if you read all the chapters. love marginal is good but of course you need to read the rest of it not only the first chapters, though the end is somewhat weird because different universes and shit
amada mia has a cute ending but all the rape thing is something that might scare the people, I don't particularly like fanfics when involves rape but this one wasn't as bad as others, I still believe they're worth a shot if someone can read spanish
si me di cuenta despues de haber posteado que los otros 2 fics que comparti tenian lo que habias dicho
