The new show base in a spin off with thing improving with Lilies
the opening is badas
I didn't fell for Hibikek, as well as many other het shows endorsed by Mugino, won't fall for this one either. However some other anon said this has some legit yuri in it, so I'll wait until it gets confirmed before picking it up.
I remember some anon posted some raw pages a few months ago,and apparently it really has yuri in it,but I think they also said the first volumes don't really have much yuri, aside from some light subtext.
Is the manga still being translated?
I wonder if the spin-off gets as batshit insane as the light novels got few volumes in. The worst thing about the main anime was that it didn't get nowhere there and I really doubt that this one will. Well at least there will be some yuri bait.
I'd say this is explicit enough. The yuri is sprinkled around in rather heavy doses, specially after Raika meets Kirin. Those two will provide the majority of the yuri.
This "Yuri Fantasized" line is making my head hurt.
So both Raika and Kirin ship Akari and Urara, and viceversa? And this ninja girl also ships Raika and Kirin?
Also, I was under the impression Sakura, which I think is the police girl, also "loves" Akari.
Not always unrequited.
I'm not at my PC so I can't check the exact chapter, but I remember a scene where Urara says that Shino is in love is Akari while they are both in the same room, and the both start blushing the furiously.
That's just one early example. There is of course KirinxRaika, and Akari has multiple girls who like her
Air date was listed as 10/6/15, but I haven't seen any subs (let alone RAWs) for it yet. Anyone know what time it is supposed to air/have aired? Anyone know if anyone has committed to subbing it?
Damn it! We need some of those love arrows (why not all?) going both ways!
>Sakura, which I think is the police girl, also "loves" Akari.
She does, but in recent chapters (you can only find them in Chinese, lost the link) a cat burglar appears and seems to be trying to "steal" her heart.
Quick heads up, last time I checked it seemed like someone accidentally uploaded a chapter from the main series into the AA section. There's a chapter that is basically all about the ninja girl fantasizing about Kinji seducing her.
>Raws are up on nyaa, Funi picked it up so subs will probably be out in a few days.
I saw the RAW was up. I also looked on Fun's website earlier in the day, and saw they have the non-AA season/show up there, but don't see any indication that AA is going to be added as view-able on Fun.
And naturally there are already subs in spanish. Watching with subs in native language is awkward as hell, but I don't feel like waiting for Funi.
I can only pray these subs are at least somewhat accurate.
Not sure if trolling or just don't really know.
The yuri of AA has been confirmed repeatedly in multiple threads.
It really takes off in Volume 5 and there's no telling how much of the story will get animated but there should at least be some AkarixShino and KirinxRaika yuri, hopefully.
And yeah, there is plenty of "I want to be friends with Akari" getting thrown around but it generally leads to "I want to be more than friends" pretty quick.
Pretty sure the wording here is "It is clearly love"
Sakura, the police girl, who eventually falls for Akari.
And then there's Hikari, Akari's childhood friend
she enters the story as an enemy but at the end of her arc she's on the way to becoming a member of Akari's harem
So yeah, the pairings are
That's just what I know from before the Japanese raws stopped appearing, so Akari's harem might have expanded since. Apparently there's even a thief girl in the newest chapters who might end up stealing Sakura.
Yes, for the nine-billionth time, but the original male harem MC hardly ever shows up and when he does he has no effect on story and the original characters don't suddenly want him. There is nothing like in Railgun where Touma basically hijacks Mikoto's story.
I will admit that the first episode actually adds a scene with Kinji that wasn't in the manga, but he literally does nothing.
As I recall, it was only really bad at the end of the Sisters Arc. His appearance and subsequent one sided beatdown of Accelerator makes all the shit Mikoto went through end up being pointless and despite being a complete baddass in that arc on her side, in the end she still has to end up a helpless damsel for Gary Stu to save.
So yeah, Thank Madoka HnA AA is an original story with characters who have no connection to the main plot.
AA has it's own definition of friend / friendship.
After Kirin and Raika's mock marriage Kirin suggests that the next step for them is cohabiting. Shino takes note and says to Akari: Their "friendship" has already progressed to this point, lets do our best too!
Previous page is:
"You win this time Shino. Your love was stronger than mine.
But I'm not giving up pursuing "acts of friendship" with Akari.
Touma ruined that entire franchise, not just Railgun. The way every encounter and battle is written just so he can win and be the hero destroys everything interesting and compelling about the characters and setting.
>The new show base in a spin off with thing improving with Lilies
>the opening is badas
The new show is a spin-off, but it has been improved by adding yuri ("Lilies")
the opening is badass
But be careful Akari. Shino surely wants *HONK* and *HONK and ingurimonguri (this seems to denote intimate bodily relations) with you. Remember to always carry *WRROOMM* with you, prevention is important!
Well, friendship in the AA universe, at least according to Urara&Shino, seems to have no limits to how far it can "progress".
>These subs are hilariously bad, but they're subs.
Are these so bad that /u/ would advise against watching them, and wait for another sub to come out, or should those of /u/s that have been eagerly waiting for subs give this version a watch?
I just watched it, and it appears the translator/typesetter's first language ins't English. Having said that the translation seems to fit pretty well with what is being said it just is off in grammatical flow and sentence structure.
About are main character for the show based on the episode I get the feeling her talent lies in
>About are main character for the show based on the episode I get the feeling her talent lies in counters
If I'm remembering it right, Akari is
from a family of assassins who passed down to her their certain-kill art. She always holds back brcause she doesn't want to kill anyone. Her dream at the start was actually showing her full power.
This looks like the smile of girl who knows about the purest form of love.
The moment she said "Shino-chan" I knew she was Ayane Sakura, so she's doing 2 lesbians this season, good.
I never watched the original but I enjoyed the first episode. Aria is pretty badass and the action scenes are good.
I just hope Kinji's appearance will be minimized or just wrote him off by Doga Kobo just to pissed off those people who will not watch this because he's not here. Lol.
As far as I know his biggest role is at the start of the second volume of the manga where he's introduced as Akari's rival for Aira's attention, and is actually portrayed as kind of an asshole.
His appearance in episode 1 was actually completely new, but it does sort of show how little his existence matters to the new girls. We do however get early appearances from Urara and Kirin (whose thirst is real) in the bargain so I guess it's not all bad.
The animation of the boat scene was pretty jarring, though. Especially when the trailer made it look like the animation in this would be top.
Still, I wonder who did Kirin fall for. At this point of the series she doesn't know Raika.
Kinda annoyed with some comments that Aria will not be Aria because Kinji is not around. Which pisses me off because Aria is a very capable girl that don't need a saving from a boy. Based on the the description that I've read about hin, he's the typical Male MC that can do everything but oblivious to thr people who likes him.
Yea, honestly, it's a bit disappointing.
I remember people talking this up like it's actually legit /u/. But it's looking like the typical romantic friendship shenanigan so far, even the scans people posted, with loli designs that just look awkward.
>I remember people talking this up like it's actually legit /u/
It's basically the standard LN cliches but with a female main character.
As far as reciprocal yuri goes Raika and Kirin are pretty legit.
The original and AA were never ever on rails to begin with so don't expect anything serious or deep from this.
That makes you a fool. Like the first 30 seconds had anything that would scare you away from the show. The only thing plausible thimng that would convince a true /u/ viewer to give up on a show in the first 30 seconds would be heavy, stupid, disgusting het where some disgusting moron of a guy is screwing a girl and she's liking that. That didn't happen with this show, so if you really did watch 30 seconds and drop it its your loss. I could tell you to give it another chance, and to watch the entire episode before you decide to drop it, but why bother I'm sure you wouldn't pay any heed, that you'd most likely use it as an excuse to bitch, so why should anyone waste their time to convince you to keep watching? If you really were a yuri fan you would have not only watched the entire episode before dumping it you would have already read the other threads (most obviously general) and know about the two other yuri shows debuting tonight/tomorrow.
Now to keep this thread AA related instead of derailing it like anonymous is trying to do:
>has some yandere tendencies
And what she does in private.
Yeah, maybe just a tiny bit yandere.
I read all of what is translated of the manga (which is not much), and Shino seems to have calmed down after that momment when she goes yandere for the first time. Isn't that kinda weird? Like, it feels like she got cured of her high yandere and now has only weak tendencies.
But that's normal. Can't have the MC end up with a girl before the ending, regardless of the gender of the MC. And if she returns someones feelings while not being super dense... yeah.
This exact question has been answered already a hundred times. Can we make a sticky already?
There are original characters. They don't even interact with the male MC. Akari only ever really directly interacted with him once, and in that instance he left a terrible impression. Seriously, when he's introduced in AA manga he looks like an evil bastard.
>I haven't read the thread at all but want to pretend I know everything about the show so I can bitch!
The "main" yuri couple in the show is the one the MC's best friend is in. Akari gets her own later. The fact that she idolizes Aria, who in a different series is a love interest, is meaningless.
Hey Onee-samas! Episode 2 is out. Lot of nice yuri action between Akari x Aria, and especially Shino x Akari. It seems Bobbert is continuing the subs, so we might be getting it sooner than next week. (For the last time, I wish slow Funi didn't get the license. Crunchyroll is faster and better.)
Just watched the first episode. Seems like a nice enough show with some /u/ potential, but I still have no idea what the fuck is going on. I don't have to watch the haremshit main series, do I?
>Just watched the first episode. Seems like a nice enough show with some /u/ potential, but I still have no idea what the fuck is going on. I don't have to watch the haremshit main series, do I?
I'm new to the series too, and I didn't watch the original either so I see on reason why you should either. Which sub did you watch. The first sub out was a bit rough in translation. In short the girls are training in school to be detectives, and there is some dark underlying plot behind events in town (based on the end of ep1). Aside from that what do you want/need to know? Episode 1 introduced some of the characters, and explanations of the world and powers will probably come in upcoming episodes. Wait for subs of ep2, and see if things are easier to follow after watching both 1 and 1 (maybe re-watch one again too for things you might have missed in the first viewing).
1. No need to watch the original series. Unless you think you may like it. This show is a spin-off, aka a different world which simply shares the former's similar setting. It is not, and never meant to be a season 2 of the original. (Hetfans were complaining why isn't this harem? Why is the lead female, and why is this yuri? Because they didn't get that it's not a season 2 for them.)
2. I recommend Bobbert subs or the official Funimation subs for episode 1. Don't use the others. They are nonsense subs. Yuri goes up much more in episode 2. And episode 3, from what I heard, looks set to veer off from the manga somewhat into original territory.
>Hetfans were complaining why isn't this harem? Why is the lead female, and why is this yuri? Because they didn't get that it's not a season 2 for them
I have to say is kinda funny watching all those hetfags whining 'cause their self-insert male character no.1200 isn't the mc this time.like there wasnt enough haremshit this season to satisfy them kek.
Long story short, it's set in a school where they give kids guns and have them solve mysteries and fight crime. Minus the main series' dumb gimmick of
male MC literally getting super powers from harem antics. i am not kidding
>And episode 3, from what I heard, looks set to veer off from the manga somewhat into original territory.
>Isn't this in the same continuity as the main series?
Yes, it is.
Yes, they did. Or at least they replaced the self-insert for a girl and removed dumb shit. Remains to be seen if that's enough to make this not shit.
>And episode 3, from what I heard, looks set to veer off from the manga somewhat into original territory.
Is it? It looks like the scene in chap 16 where Raika confronts Kirin at the rooftop and that's where Kirin gives her a kiss
Kinda typical for Dogakobo by now. They only do one season. And for that they take what fits together into one nice season. So some things will change in order, some things will be ignored and so on. All so you have at least somewhat of a round experience and not some weird "tbc" in the middle of an arc, even though there never will be a second season anyway.
I don't want to sound like a manga elitist, but episode 2 was too rushed compared to the manga and Akari is more useless and crybaby in the anime (there was no build up for her to cry after sewing the parachute). On the plus side, Aria seems more gay, I don't have much hope for her hooking up with Akari, but it is nice anyway.
>Removing the bathing scene and Shino's reaction to Akari texting her about her and Aria having a bath together made very little sense.
Damn, I would have liked to see that. I don't read the manga, so I didn't know I was missing out on that.
I'm suprised no one has posted about the sub of ep2 being out (its been out for a couple of hours now).
Shino is the Hotaru of AA.
Figures, they must be normalfags who think that this is a direct sequel to the previous HnA anime by JC Staff back then.
I don't blame them because even Funi list the first episode as "Hidan no Aria ep 13".
Kinji can do anything but dense. Lame. Same old harem male MC which i have no idea why they like that genre.
What actually pisses me is they are saying that Aria can't do anything without Kinji at her side. They want her to be the damsel in distress that need saving from Kinji. Too bad Aria is much cooler and badass on this series than on the original.
Btw, episode 2 is already released. And I think Akira is not weak as she was shown on the 1st 2 eps. She have some ninja training.
>And I think Akira is not weak as she was shown on the 1st 2 eps. She have some ninja training.
Pretty much. Manga spoilers
The dream at the beginning of Ep1 was actually a demonstration of Akari's actual power. I'm pretty sure she holds back as to not hurt anyone
Shirayuki talking to Shino: Have you thought about what to name your kids yet?
You know there's this iPS thing...
So... Amica is literally the Souer system, just with a different name?
That's fucking gay.
No, the entire episode is fucking gay.
Apparently a lot of major characters have famous ancestors (for example, Aria's is Sherlock Holmes), Based on the techniques Shino uses (and obviously her name), I guess Shino's is supposed to be Sasaki Kojiro.
RaikaxKirin from Chapter 77. The anime... probably won't reach this.
>Oh my dog, somebody star translate the manga again, maybe
I hope it wasn't you, because that grammar, word choice, and sentence structure are awful!
Whoa, I really liked that song that played when
Raika and Kiring fought.
On another hand, they cut the whole amusement park part in which they give a reason why Kirin loves Raika, but kept the panchu scene with Kinji? Fuck. I hope we get the amusement park scene in a flashback at least, that scene is important for Kirin x Raika relationship.
>Still, next episode looks like the Urara fight and the beginning of Akari's harem.
Akari's harem sucks so this doesn't do anything for me. I do hope they will include the amusement park scene later somehow.
Funny thing is that the latest chapters seem to be showing Shino and Urara as a possible ship. Or it could just be that they've found camaraderie in their desire to fuck Akari.
Still, Sakura might be getting taken by that delicious brown phantom thief
Akari was the first person who treated Shino like a real person. I'd hardly call her love for Akari pointless.
I'm pretty sure in Urara's case it's just "Hgnnn, Akari a cute, must have" but whatever.
>Akari was the first person who treated Shino like a real person. I'd hardly call her love for Akari pointless.
Chances are your mom was the first person who treated you like a person. Are you going to fuck you mom?
Besides, I said pointless because nothing is going to ever happen with Akari.
Kirin kissing Raika. Apparently Kirin knows Raika has a fetish for lolis, which she used in their fight to distract Raika and win.
I hope we get to see the "Kirin is my wife!" scene in the anime.
>in Urara's case it's just "Hgnnn, Akari a cute, must have" but whatever.
I don't understand how it works, but Urara started cushing on Akari because
Akari beat Urara in their rematch
Maybe Urara thought "how did she get so good? Must get close to her to know!" or something.
Don't worry. This show is Yuri because the manga is, and it has nothing to with the Hidan no aria main story. It is a spin-off. To make it simple, think of it as a different thing, but it just shares the Hidan main world settings. This is NOT a season 2 of Hidan No Aria.
Shino's family seems to be the type that leaves poor people things like raising children to the servants. It's entirely possible Shino doesn't even see her mother expect on special occasions.
And seeing as other girls keep their distance and talk about her behind her back, it's also likely that Akari is really the first person who has treated Shino with genuine kindness
So how did /a/ react? Are they even still following this? I heard they were buttblasted that Kinji got sidelined. And here I thought VD would be the only polarizing series this season
Probably not. And it doesn't help that Funi is putting AA up as though it's a sequel to the original, not a spin-off.
Maybe just the fact that nothing is ever going to happen with a harem lead, save for more harem hijinks. If you want Shino to get something more, it'll have to be with one of the side girls.
Knee-jerk reaction to characters with short pigtailsShe's a bit too airhead and clumsy. I'm not a fan of super emo protagonists, but I also don't like it when they are too cheerful (even though really bad stuff happened in their past) and incompetent (sure, she doesn't want to use her most powerful attack, but c'mon, there must be other stuff she can do).
Can I expect more head patting scenes between these two in future episodes?
Chapter 82 teases ShinoxUrara. Can't read Commie but it's Urara trying to get Akari to eat food off of her naked body, which leads Shino to try and outdo her. They start fighting and Akari tries to get them to get along, which seems to work.
Of course, considering the one thing Shino and Urara have in common is their love for Akari, it doesn't exactly work out the way you'd think.
Would be funny if Akari gets 3P and Kinji is stuck running from crazy girls forever.
I wouldn't mind a 3p, but it's not going to happen. Nothing ever happens with a harem lead like Akari. Best they could do is forget about her and get it on with each other. I know it won't happen, but one can dream.
I'm sad the anime version changed her hobby to cosplay and not kept it as doll-collecting...
because this scene gave Kirin a pretty big hint on Raika's tastes.
They also cut a few scenes where Kirin keeps nagging Raika to be her oneesama but Raika kept saying no.
Let's assume that 'Nothing ever happens with a harem lead like Akari' is true. And you said yourself that Shino and Urara together is impossible. So given two (technically three) impossible scenarios, you'd rather have the one with next to nothing basing their hypothetical relationship come true.
I don't get it.
Shino is simply what Hotaru-chan will look like in the future,
can't believe cute hotaru can become a crazy lesbian yandere xD
I regret picking this up. Once again I was lured by the prospect of yuri and when I got there I also found hetshit.
I never watched the first season but I thought this one was gonna take a different direction.
Then old male MC showed up
The guest-starring population from the main show, of course, isn't necessarily going to be yuri, as that series was hetero to begin with. However, that doesn't make this show any less yuri, so I'm not sure what you are complaining about. This story is about the spin-off, and it's characters, which are the show's center-stage. And they are all yuri, more or less.
Don't mind that anon. If /a/ can whine about "yurishit", /u/ can whine about "hetshit". Although, there is nothing to whine about. Show's yuri.
Well, the main male MC from the original appearances so far here is mainly for comedy. Just like in the latest episode where he's dress a woman idol in Akari's dream and that was only for a few seconds.
And this show is pretty yuri. With the main pairing Kaira and Kirin. While Shino is pretty much in love with Akari. And soon Urara will join the harem of Akari.
If you mean the panties thing, that was silly but it didn't really affect the yuri or introduce het. We've seen MC-kun for like, a minute total in 4 episodes. He's basically just fanservice for people who have seen/read the original series.
or maybe you should just go back to /a/
Do fans of the original anime even like this spin off? The male MC is not the protagonist and he hardly appears, and I believe other characters from the original anime don't appear that much either.
The translation have been shown already. Except for the rescue of Kirin by Raika, Akari and Shino. I really don't understand why they didn't animate it. It think that's one of the best scenes in the manga.
Maybe you're more accurate than you thought.
And so what? I don't give a damn about that, I don't care if it's yuri, harem, or whatever. Hidan no Aria is one my favorite series so I'll check it out no matter what genre it is. And I already been know that AA was a yuri since 2010.
Well it's not even related to HnA. It's called Yagate Maken no Alicebell. It's based on a LN about a school with super-power battles. They are a dime a dozen and frequently outright plagiarize each other.
But as I gather you're here from /a/, they do at least have plenty of waifus for you. Feel free to indulge in what is pretty much the anime/manga equivalent of McDonalds.
