Too bad it never caught fire. It was rather /u/, especially that second ending. I miss it.
Anyway, this thread is for:
*Screenshots, pages, and discussion about general series, current or old, not covered by an existing thread, be it yuri, fanservice, subtext or goggles. Canon and non-canon both welcome.
*News reports about things relevant to our interest
*Original content that doesn't fit any specific thread topics
*Pretty much anything that doesn't have or need its own thread.
Just saiying that this manga is getting gayer
Reply to this post if you hate Mugino
>terrible fucking OPs and posts in general
>blatant and moronic misinformation
>picking fights on pretty much every board that might be discussing something with lesbians
He's a shitposter either way you cut it and frankly I'm surprised his namefagging doesn't trigger some kind of automoderation.
Are the subtitles that are out for that episode garbage? (figuratively speaking - I know literally they are garbage). In other words should I wait for someone else to sub them, or should I watch garbage?
Would be better if he shitposted using proper English.
I'll assume he's on something as it provides a plausible explanation for Mugino's weirdness and insane rantings over on his pixiv account. Perhaps that account is an imposter but we have no way of proving that theory.
I will also assume that 90% of pro-Muginos are just sockpuppets.
>there is no way to prove 2 posters on the internet are different people
>therefore they must be one person
I suppose the reason there's so little yuri next season is because of a plot by the Illuminati huh?
That would be the Freemasons, stop giving the Illuminati too much credit.
Unless someone proves to me that there is a greater possibility that Mugino pixiv is not the Mugino here, I'll assume they are the same.
In any case, some of the rants made by that idiot seem similar enough to what he's written in the past.
Well that's what I guess also. There are quite a lot of gay fanart of this series on twitter, so I'm just curious about how gay it actually is since I can't understand shit.
What is surprising is the majority of fanart I encountered is of two characters which I don't see interact much, in stead of a pair which seems much much more gayer.
>Agiri got arrested for cocaine
I don't usually browse the general but I wanted to ask this question so I hope this is good enough.
What kind of things do you guys like to see in yuri material? Like everybody has things they DISLIKE but I want to know what kind of stuff you guys actually like.
Personally I've got a weak spot for delinquent girls. Brash, crass, hardheaded girls, not necessarily tomboys, just tough girls. The Real Her, Love/Death, Notes from the Garden of Lilies, etc.
That last one ties into my other nomination, girls with scary faces. Hana to Hoshi was good for that.
I like delinquents as well. Other thing I like are office ladies. Also fluffy family stories (two mothers) get me all fuwa-fuwa.
I like "intelligent" types for thoughtful relationships like in EventuallyIWillBecomeYours. Sakura Trick didn't feel like much to me.
Maybe that's why I like to see yanderes. At least they're putting some effort and thought into their love lives. Upfront with what they want.
Not enough ara-aras. Mature and sweet types really get to me.
Age gap, height gap and monstergirls are my absolute favorite things to see in yuri. While the first two are uncommon the incredibly small amount of monstergirl yuri out there makes me very sad. But I suppose how rare it is makes it all the more exciting when some crops up.
I like when it's about
This might not seem light much but some girls have issues being cute. Sumika from Sasameki Koto, Shizuma
still madand Amane from Strawberry Panic are good examples.
>tank out several months ago
>can't really risk importing
It keeps happening.
I'd like to see a second chapter where she's looking at
her legs while they have sex, and it makes her even more horny and aggressive, and she finds not only does she love the look, shape, and feel of her legs, but every part of her body. I could also see her really getting off if the girl rubs her leg(s) up and down along her pussy.
I was reading The Flower and The Star but the volume or tank or whateveriscalled version (I just love this series) and I found out that the author added three more pages at the end of the manga than in the one uploaded on Dynasty. I do not know if this was mentioned before, just in case you might be interested (read from left to right).
And sorry for the bad quality of the pics. Also, been lurking here for a year… so hi.
I don't know if she's being completely ostracized. That would imply she would be completely shunned by her community. I won't go that far unless we have a good idea of how her fans (however few), friends, family or her general community are treating her. Her entertainment career is effectively teared up for a few years.
As for drug laws, it depends where it is. From what I've read some European countries (Denmark, Netherlands) have a looser policy. If you happen to be in Asia especially Singapore, Malaysia or China just pray you don't end up in the rope when caught with drugs.
Gloomy girls. The sort of spooky witchy chick with the long black hair who gives everyone the creeps, deservedly so or otherwise.
That one shadow girl from Dr Hitomi's Infirmary, or Honoka from Virgin's Empire, or Hex Maniac from Pokemon - characters like that. Bonus points if paired with a genki type.
Just finished watching Miss Monochrome S3 ep5 and it was yuri packed. If I interpreted things correctly it was making reference to her Girlfriend Beta time, and how she fell in love with her female teacher.
Some things I like in yuri:
>Two cute loli or young girls
>Both are medium, small, or flat chested
>Both are same age or there's a minimal age-gap (1-3 years is usually fine)
>Both of them are
On the Shirobako manga, it's so hard to decide which ship I like most
AoixEma- VP and Pres who complement 'each other perfectly.' I'm also reminded of the Bakuman pair with Aoi dragging a half-reluctant Ema into their chosen path.
ZukaxEma- 'Thanks for being angry for me.' Also Zuka re-enacting a romantic scene from an anime with Zuka
In the Future
AixEma- The SenpaixKouhai pair.
i love it when one of the girls does a lot of inner monologuing and is always longing for the other like in Fragtime and especially Kuchibiru ni Suketa Orange.
Are you ready for Kumiko Love Story?
Truth be told I wouldn't even mind half as much if Shuichi wasn't such a creepy piece of shit. Fuck everything about him and fuck everything about "if a girls acts like doesn't like a boy, it must mean she secretly craves his dick".
>Kyoani could either become the enemy or the deliverer
You're not seriously thinking they're going to go against the source material and make them gay, are you? It's not just unrealistic, it would be pretty fucked up if it did happen.
The best we can hope for is that they'll skip any relationship development, but they know what sells so that's highly unlikely.
What I'm thinking is what they plan to do with the story they now own. They are free to remove and add and replace as they see fit. I'm not confident they'll make Reina and Kumiko big gay lesbos all over the place. I just know they have other characters and other options and things we shouldn't assume.
>Are you ready for Kumiko Love Story?
I'm not much of optimist remembering Tamako Market route with first season teasing Midori and movie ignoring that for the het route, since the original material has Kumiko x Shuichi dating I really doubt they would ignore that especially with the movie confirmed too.
Maybe we can be happy with some side yuri couple?
>>1903193Since a recap movie, I think they'll het it up so that they can justify the growing relationshipof Shuichi x Kumiko in the second season and will lessen up Kumiko x Reina or they'll completely ignore.
Ugh! I will not torture myself again.
And Fuck Off Mugino
They can take a route that will ensure that the current fanbase will buy and not going "full lesbo" and that is keeping the status quo. Strip the romance out of the story and that's it. They did for season 1, they can keep it for season 2. Sure, it would still be bait, but at least i won't be full het.
Now, what KyouAni would actually do it is anyone's guess.
>"Yes, we might even get a kiss between them now!"
>Um, sorry to burst your bubbles but-
>"Fuck back to /a/ you troll!!!"
An S2 and a movie later
>See? I told you that-
>"Wtf u talking about? Nobody expected yuri from this!!!"
Every. Fucking. Time.
I don't understand it. Why do you guys care so much about a show which is clearly not yuri and would never be yuri and cluster up this board, while obviously discussion can be provided for show with legitimate romance between girls.
Watch it all you want, but when it goes full het pls just shut yourself in a corner and don't go screaming here.
First name, last name, same person.
As for Hibikek, it was a lost cause from the start, KyoAni rewrites or not, and Mugino is to blame for making threads about it here.
One day I'll know why is he not perma'd.
I was playing the trial version of Fatal Frame V and got to a cutscene.
Hisoka got kidnapped by a ghost lady. But the ghost positioned her grab as if she has other plansCouldn't screenshot the cutscene, so I pulled it of Youtube
>be optimistic and at best you'll not be disappointed when something good happens
>be pessimistic and at worst you'll get what you expected when something bad happens
It's pretty solid way of living.
That doesn't really seem like hoping to me then. Or at the very least either your expectations are low or your viewing habits must be quite boring if your choices are always that safe.
>Why do you guys care so much about a show which is clearly not yuri and would never be yuri and cluster up this board, while obviously discussion can be provided for show with legitimate romance between girls.
Do you even look at this board? And that's on top of the hilarity of complaining about "clutter" on a slow-ass board like /u/. I'd rather have actual discussion on a show, even if it might turn out bad, than another five imagedump threads that were abandoned after the OP posted just a few pictures.
I never got this about /u/, why care so much about whether canon het happens or not? I'm still shipping InoSaku in spite of the Naruto epilogue.
Your ship might be torpedoed but you and your crew can keep bailing out water.
In any case, maybe /u/ should stay away from discussing Kyoani altogether if we have gotten to this point >>1903199
As for Eupho coming back, yay for more awful shipping wars.
>I never got this about /u/, why care so much about whether canon het happens or not?
Because we are all emotional here and I won't lie, for me fanart of existing in-canon yuri or yuri subtext couple is much more hot and fulfilling than random pairing up of two canonically straight girls who lust after guys in original material.
Similiar I dislike fanarts which pair canonically yuri girls with guys just for the sake of shipping.
It's just a matter of preference, similiar I'm not much into just porn yuri doujins, I prefer some story build-up leading to sex in them.
Aparently this another manga by the same author of Prunus Girl had a yuri subplot
remember this author is very good in this subplots
The first 2 episodes of Adventure Time season 7 leaked and the second episode is a Bubblegum/Marceline episode.
I'm pretty much at peace with Hibikek by now. An anon over here said that the author intended to show how friendship between two girls can be a greater force than romance in the books. I don't have any sources for that explanation, but you know what? I'll just believe that. That's fine by me.
It doesn't matter if Kumiko and Reina's relationship never go beyond anything platonic. In ancient times, platonic love used to mean a relationship that transcends earthly desires towards a more divine love, and that's completely okay.
It was an interview with the original author and the director of the anime. Look in one of the archives for the last Hibike! thread, there has to be a link to it somewhere in there.
Are you watching the anime about the tittymonster and her loli harem?
It maybe a recap movie but it might change things, such as the fist bump. Actually KyoAni changed a lot of the Shuuichi x Kumiko scenes from the novel. The talk after the first day of school might be extended in the movie, as well as the Shuuichi asking Kumiko out scene and of course replace the fist bump with the entwining fingers. So honestly this recap might change it so it follows the original first book more clearly. or not with KyoAni you never no.
Not in the novel or Manga. She was obviously flustered by what he said and was visibly jealous of Hazuki. Anime watered it down vastly. I feel the recap Movie will turn it up so that the second season will make sense. Though do understand second season will have more characters and Shuuichi will barely be in it since that novel focus heavily on Asuka and the second years, even Reina's character only has a subplot. Nozomi, Mizore and Asuka are taking Hazuki, Midori and Shuuichi's place in the second season. But unlike those three these characters will be in the spotlight and main plot.
>I feel the recap Movie will turn it up so that the second season will make sense
You do realize the KumiRei in season one didn't happen by accident when no one was looking, right? Knowing full well what was going to happen in the novels, they chose to write Kumiko's romance differently. They have no reason to do a sudden 180 and alienate a sizable portion of their audience when they can just continue making changes to the novel.
She does like him, like she likes Kazuki or Midori. Nothing beyond that.
I don't get why are you so freaking focused in the romance, though. It's not important in the novels. Hell, the three main volumes never directly address it, and it only gets a confirmation in the last side story with Kumiko and Shuichi deciding to go out and the novel ending right there.
Friendship is the main focus, and KyoAni will likely focus in that, as they did during season 1.
Well, that's how usually is. Hibike, in its anime form, hasn't been like that, though. Its focus was Kumiko and Reina's relationship, to the point of altering romantic scenes that Shuichi did have in the novels. So, fearing a change of focus in the story to romance, that isn't even that important in the source material, seems bit silly.
Whatever you think of Kumiko and Reina's relationship, for the staff is nothing more than "a really close friendship" and that's the story they are telling. Everything else is just fluff to that.
The entire "a really close friendship" thing is just blatant bullshit to avoid commitment.
Just imagine for a second their relationship with one of them being a boy. It would patently be marketed as a romance anime.
That's the problem with adaptation - there's already a het romance in the source, there's only so far they can go, but they /can/ get away with that much because it's two girls, whereas it would be different if one of them were a boy. Yuri is a double edged sword sometimes.
Exactly, they bought the rights and can cut and paste whatever they want into the story. If anyone is reluctant to watch it, just wait until the final credits roll in a year or two and watch it then. Any other choice could result in prolonged suffering.
>there's already a het romance in the source, there's only so far they can go
Not really. Adaptations can and do make significant changes to the story. Haven't you ever read a novel that was turned into a film?
>Haven't you ever read a novel that was turned into a film?
The less I think about the Hobbit movies, the better.
Also, much like the Hobbit movies, those changes are rarely for the better. They could perfectly speed up the het romance, or make it dramatic, or a long list of bad things. It is a given that they won't remove it.
Actually, think about it.
There's a lot of subtext shows (some of them less gay than Hibike) where the author themselves make sure that we know the girls are actually intended to be a couple.
And we buy that, because they're really gay anyway.
So really, the only reason Shuuichi exists is to make her point that the girls relationship isn't romantic. Because no one would listen to her otherwise.
Look at Aria's ending too.
And I heard it's not and they even removed some Shuichi scenes. But I didn't read it so who knows.
Either way I don't believe Kyoani will deliver. I hope it's gonna end ambiguous with no s3 in sight so I can at least pretend I got yuri.
>Are the subtitles that are out for that episode garbage? (figuratively speaking - I know literally they are garbage). In other words should I wait for someone else to sub them, or should I watch garbage?
I just watched the garbage sub, and it actually wasn't garbage. It was pretty good. For anyone who hasn't watched the ep14 ova of Wakaba girls there is no reason to wait give garbage a watch.
Do you feel like you spend more time staring at all the stuff on Netflix you wish you wanted to watch than you do actually watching things on there? I usually just end up reading something I find on the lit threads on here instead.
Same here, almost. But mostly with games. Skipping FFXV, ignored ToZ because of the forced male protagonist in the party/field. Kinda sucks.
I'm fine with stuff like Mushishi though, and you should be too.
Eh, I can still watch movies or series and read books without yuri.
Manga and anime, though, are a definite no-no: if it isn't yuri or at least subtext, it's not even worth considering.
I'm right there with you. I didn't enjoy a lot male/het oriented media before, but now that I know how good things can be thanks to yuri I don't want to go back to thew way things were.
Every videogame I play now, I have to do my best to make my main character into a girl and then make her act like a yuri character. Even if it's a strategy game like xcom, I try to make them into shoujo action squads.
Heh. Me too. I pretty can't play any game that doesn't let me play as a girl these days. Thankfully, because of the progressive movement, female protagonists now are a dime a dozen.
There's been some overtones throughout the show anyway.
>You should check out Kino no Tabi if you haven't already.
I have, yes, it's great. I just meant that not everything that doesn't have a female MC turns me off but this does heavily apply to games.
So, that trap aparently will had a real girl falling for a real girl
"I will never forget the kiss I quietly exchanged with Miyu-chan behind the umbrella when singing Zetsubou Yuugi on-stage."
a confession here!
Supposedly people on twitter are speculating about the meaning, and some of them think it has romantic implications.
To be honest, I think is pretty bad taste to speculate about the life of someone who just passed away based on comments from people grieving about it.
It doesn't matter if it makes sense or not. It's just wrong. She just died, her friends and family are grieving. Speculating about how she lived her life is an horrible transgression.
Hey /u/, pls answer this. I need to know, pls.
In your yuri heaven, there is...
Maybe next time, I'll think of all the archetypes as well. There are actually quite many though so I'll probably need some help on that. Or is there any poll website where the voters can make their own answers?
I did used another word: Shitbags. Or would you like it better if I call them scumbags? And, by the way, I don't need your little lecture on moral relativism, you retarded piece of shit.
I knew a dork like you would show up. You can't even be happy for eternal lesbian soulmates.
There's a brief one-shot by Yukimura ("Armet") where one of the girls is a knight, but I don't think it's been translated (?). It's also too short for almost any knight stuff to happen.
There's also at least one light novel with a knight character (Itsuwari No Hime Wa Kishi To Odoru) but I never got around to finishing it. It was mostly political intrigue as far as I read.
I think there was also a side-character in Wild Bouquet who was a knight, but I can't really remember, it's been too long.
You just worded that terribly, not complaining and not caring are different
Because saying something and immediately contradicting yourself in the next sentence makes you look dumb, I was just looking out for you Nee-san
That's because, let's face it, most manga and anime doesn't really have a good plot.
Their charm are in things like rule of cool and cute things. The kind of things you can't find it equal in western works.
That's why things like Mushishi are okay. Because they're actually really well written.
I still like not-yuri shows, though. But the options are getting limited, since I don't like male power fantasy and harem antics.
It's worse with games, since the wish fulfillment in them always annoyed me. I kinda like Tales of series because it doesn't focus on that, but things like Persona really upsets me.
>Kou-tan Kou-tan Kou-tan Kou-tan Kou-tan
God, I fucking hate shotas so much. Why can't he just die in a car accident or something?
Does it get better?
>That's because, let's face it, most manga and anime doesn't really have a good plot.
I know that this gets repeated a lot, but you could say this about any medium. I've read quite a few awful books in my time.
There are episodes where he doesn't appear.
On the other hand, there are episodes where he does.
On the other OTHER hand, there are episodes where he appears with another girl that also likes him (Komachi) and who will fight with Norie over him. A series that's suppossed to be lighthearted and calm then becomes an endurance test, as you wish with all your soul, with blood in your eyes, red in your vision and THE VERY FABRIC OF THE PUREST RAGE in your mind, that the MOTHERFUCKER WOULD SIMPLY FUCK OFF.
BUT NO, THERE HE APPEARS AGAIN AND THERE KOMACHI IS WITH HIM AND THERE NORIE AND BOTH OF THEM ARE ONSCREEN AT THE SAME TIME AND-
It will get better in some parts. It will get worse in some other. The second season lets up a bit, though.
Let's talk about yuri and not about a namefag. Giving attention is only feeding them, oneesama.
From a het LN of a het web game but at least something of value was created.
I just realized that the plot of Kill Me Baby would make a pretty good yuri story if you removed the comedy.
Bubbly happy-go-lucky girl discovers that her friend is a cold-blooded assassin and uses her dumb girl charms to get her to stop.
There is pretty much zero prominent male characters, and Yasuna's clinginess combined with Sonya's deadly tsundere makes a great shipping combination. Not quite Yuyushiki-tier but still very gogglable.
In fact the ending hinted that there is some yuri.
I don't know girls, but whenever I heard "confession", "friends", "itadakimasu" in the same song I wear my goggles, and my goggles reacts nicely to the ending.
Uploaded the ED with translated lyrics so everyone can enjoy the subtexty goodness. I especiall like the "I love you so much so I want to kill you" line.
No me Aneki
Instead I put this Yuruyuri reference in Shomin Sample, awfuld harem but for some reason they mention yuruyuri
I don't see the point of het harems. Fate made a lot of money but only because it had a cool ass setting/event out of the holy grail war. But it seems like studios thought that the harem aspect was what sold it. I wish I could see some hard stats on this.
It wasn't the first, but it was the most notable of way back then. What Love Hina did well, though, is making the girls and male MC actual characters instead of cardboard cutouts.
Unfortunately, the idiots churning LNs by the metric fuckton forgot that, and just have ancient archetypes lusting after self-inserts.
And the idiots rushing to animate those LNs forgot how those harems almost always fail to make profit. I mean, if the last twenty battle school harems were atrocious shit that sold like atrocious shit, what makes them think the next twenty battle school harems will do better?
There has to be profit somewhere. Maybe they break even (or have profits) with merchandise or something. I just can't believe that they keep producing show after show without making profit out of it.
I'd call it a proto-harem rather than the first example of the genre. For one, you aren't really encouraged to self-insert as Ranma and the girls who want him are more hilariously awful comedy characters than fantasy girlfriends.
The intentions of the anime committee is usually to increase sales of the source material. If it becomes a miracle hit like Infinite Stratos that's fine, but most of the time the anime's just an advertisement for the manga/light novels. The studio adapting it is usually paid in advance and has no strong attachment to the series if they aren't part of the production committee.
Since they keep doing this, it's reasonable to assume that either the model works, or they're too set in their ways to change it. I'd say it's a little of both.
Yes, I understand that, but how can you measure the sucess of something as vague as "it increased the LN/manga/game sales"?
Comparing sales of volume one? Or the sales of the volumes that are set after anime? The newest one? Do they even have those statistical breakdowns?
Uh, isn't it common sense that businesses have sales statistics and projections? Advertising is quite common in the world of commerce after all. They would definitely see the results of the anime through aggregated statistics of sales of the anime/source material/other merchandise and as the actual publisher/member of the production committee they'll have all the actual figures instead of speculative ones that outsiders produce from looking at public viewable numbers like amazon rankings.
>Uh, isn't it common sense that businesses have sales statistics and projections?
My point was that I don't see how can the effect be measurable.
For example, let's say the latest volume had a really great development, something game changing that make doubters on the series quality stop complaining. That volume happened to be the one that was released while the anime was airing. Of course, none of its content is on it. How can you be sure that the increase wasn't because the quality of the work suddenly went up, and no your shitty badly animated commercial on late night TV?
Well a quick google search showed me that in the same year that the To Love Ru manga started its run, certain anime started too: The Familiar of Zero. You can't get more bland than Saito.
>the quality of the work suddenly went up
Bro, you are talking about a harem. The only way you'll get that is if you retconned the male MC, and replaced him with a girl or something.
Everyone loves Teh Rie.
I welcome this development with my arms wide open.
I was just trying to understand more about marketing, a topic I don't really get. My method to learn things is asking questions and then questioning the answers with more questions until I can get a clear picture on the subject. I do admit that I can get a bit annoying with it, though.
To understand marketing, you need to understand your customer.
You just lost, because in this case the customer is a person that likes to watch/read harems. That is, a very unwholesome person, someone you can not relate to.
I concede my complete defeat, onee-sama.
So, Love Hina/Tenchi Muyo set the groundwork Fate/Familiar of Zero created the bland Male MC, and after that it exploded in popularity. Too bad that Love Hina is actually good.
You didn't actually read it, did you.
Just because one girl wins each route doesn't mean it's not harem, the same way series with multiple girls lusting after one cock are still haremshit even if the MC is only interested in one.
A harem is defined by a minimum of 3 individuals that want the same person.
I get what you mean, the old name meant a single person having a harem where they all like person and said person has access to them any time they want.
But in anime it seems to just mean the former, and they are generalized as such a genre.
I dunno, I lurk discussion on stuff I don't actually care about way too much, and I always had the impression that the FSN girls don't develop an interest in the MC unless you're on their route in particular.
You're wrong. They all want Shirou's dick in every route. During the story you triggers the flags to make "Shirou" fall for one of the girls.
Spoilered because not /u/ relevant:
Sakura literally cooks for everyday because she's on love with him. Rin tries treats him better than any other person, again, because she's in love with him. Illya was so obsessed with the guy who "stole" her father that she started to love/hate him. Saber was "seduced" by Shirou's ideal on heroism. All are true in every single route.
Obviously I've being pretty simplistic here, but that's the gist of it.
