I will post this in every general thread until Bocchi gets an anime.
Yuribait is our decade's version of shoujo-ai.
People are using it way too liberally, to the point it's trivialized when there's actual yuribait afoot.
The entire yuri scene is full of misused or just way too loose terms. Hell, I bet /u/ would have a problem defining what yuri is to begin with (one-sided comedic crush, genderbending, subtext, etc).
I think there needs to be an actual element of deception for something to qualify as bait. No one who's watching, say, Pretty Cure or Love Live thinks there's actually going to be an unambiguous lesbian romance there.
Oh Joukamachi no Dandelion is really going full yuri
Angelise confirmed been in love of Akane
Bought Gakuen Polizi because I'd been curious as to how it proceeded after the amateur translation stopped. Quite a lot of fun, but the abrupt end was a bit disappointing. Slow burn yuri seems a tough sell these days.
Unless it's so slow nothing ever actually happens, apparently.
> Manga artist Mitsuhiro Kimura (Dullahan-chan wa Kubittake) will draw the new series, titled Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Kanna no Nichijō (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Kanna's Daily Life).
Is this normal? A new artist on a spinoff?
Have you girls read any good proper yuri one shots recently?
Honestly sometimes it feels like reading one shots is better since there's more yuri pper page than those super long series with like one kiss at the end.
This could be a good thing if this new author sticks with what was set up already and doesn't have to pander to Cool's proclivities. I'd prefer an unknown author to the high chance Cool would slowly ruin the Kanna spinoff with random chapters of
shotas, futas, titmonsters, or other unspeakable horrors.
Can girls love bears?
(This is tagged yuri on pixiv for some reason)
No, they are both very, very gay.
However, one might die and the other will live in the closet for the rest of her life. She will only realise on her death bed that het was a mistake.
I fucking hate myself and want to die. Someone recommend me something emotionally draining so I can funnel my shitty angst into lesbian fantasies.
I don't care if it has a happy ending or not. As long as there's a lot of onscreen (on page?) suffering and it's not over trivial shit, I'm good.
I always love it when fans make a character's wishes come true.
Annoyingly I can't determine who the scanlator is (far as I can tell, it's not the same group of did the first three). If anyone manages to find out, do forward it to Dynasty's Upload Request section.
As nice as its art is, the story is kinda all over the place. Daughter's route was a mistake. I still don't know why the author gave her such huge spotlight only to have it come down to nothing.
Found this manga in a store while in Taiwan. Roughly translates to "My Best Friend is the Cutest in the World". Googlefu says it's 私の友達が世界一かわいい
I think this is yuri, but I can't seem to find a translation anywhere. Any help?
Damn, I didn't know that the first volume of Katakura Ako's Last Waltz was already translated. Too bad her first series is terribly bad. I mean the idea was good bad the characterization and plot is almost non existent. What a mess.
So it turns out /v/ found something pretty fun. This website edits pictures automatically onto images of people holding magazines and stuff, pretty good potential for some amusing pictures.
Anyone know what this is from?
I thought it might be Mikanuji's new series in yuri-hime. But I checked and doesn't seem like it is.
How is Stellaris? Does it have lot of micromanaging compared to other Paradox title? Sorry for the off-topic, have alien yuri.
Oh, the scorpion nurse of Arachnid is really gay in the Caterpillar manga
Gameplay wise I've found it to be right inbetween Civ and EU4. Less micromanaging and more exploration than EU4, and quite a bit more complexity than Civ. I've been enjoying it a lot.
Yeah there are three crises that can happen. Two are dependent on actions taken by the player or AI, and one happens by chance. Only one can happen in a game though.
4U Chapters have been fully translated.
That UmexEmoko at the end though. It's like Mitsu only 100% more tsun and 200% more snark.
And because she also did everything she could to protect Ume's smile- some HaruUme.
So i started reading this ongoing comic called N647-Brother Complex purely reading for impure perposes but then suddenly Megan. I have hopes for Megan I do not expect much but I can hope for some interesting dreams
Seems the comic is on patreon too but it looks interesting if you do not go in with expectations of pure /u/
It is about 72 pages so far and Megan shows up around first 20 pages but only sight hints that she is awakening and has no idea
We do get them with Japan. It's just that they're mostly oneshots, so they don't stick out when we think yuri. It's much easier for web comics to get those kind of story settings going when they're not restricted by the number of pages an editor gives them.
Bullshit. Japan just don't want to make yuri series outside the most overused yuri trope that is all-girls school with "special friendship" themes. I don't think it's a mater of editor's restrictions or something. Quite interesting that most of my favorite ongoing yuri series right now are not from Japan. They are web comic, sure, but so what? Japan have them too.
>Japan just don't want to make yuri series outside the most overused yuri trope that is all-girls school with "special friendship" themes
This is only the sort of thing people believe when they're making lazy assumptions instead of actually knowing what they're talking about.
Why is everyone always unanimously follow the progressive ageda that representation of "lgbt community and culture" in mainstream culture is a measure of how people are treated IRL?
One can be culturally conservative and still have no particular issue with gay people they know IRL. Personally I think the whole thought line of the "acceptance" of the "lgbt community" as an "other" amongst the masses is in itself undermining the fact of people being just normal human beings who want to live their lives. It encourage people to be obsessed with "openness and acceptance" as ideology and point the finger outward. One should accept himself before blaming others for not feeling sufficiently secured.
The top two are Ushio and Sumika from Sasameki Koto, and the bottom two are Akko and Mari from Girl Friends.
I think Akko is just innocently being cute and not at all trying to make any particularly lewd finger signs.
why so many artists post their stuff on twitter rather than pixiv? Twitter fucking sucks and it's so hard to find their art because many of them don't tag anything.
It's a new serialization by Konno Kita. Seems intriguing so far. If the older ladies aren't a couple then Maya at least has feelings for Nobara.
I feel like I've read something really similar but can't quite remember what it was.
Spitting distance is no longer enough.
Feelings are no longer enough.
I propose a motion by which any work that does not include physical contact or gazing into each others eyes in every panel be branded non-yuri. Anti-yuri even. Enemies of the yuri state.
But do you pay attention to the other side of it, such as information about manga that exist because of suggestions from editors, or just ignore it and think editors simply fuck things up?
Well, when things go right, nobody thinks of the crapton of people that make things go right.
When things go wrong they're all worse than Hitler.
And sometimes editors don't have enough power. I think the one in Cross Ange begged to have Tusk retconned but Fukuda really wanted his selfinsert.
Certainly makes me appreciate that Long Rider's editor just suggested toning down the yuri instead of adding in male self inserts, although I naturally would have preferred the author having the freedom to make it as yuri as he wanted in the first place.
Too bad that wouldn't save the anime from being lazy and cheap though. It also doesn't help that it's being airing during a really yuri season. More of us might have actually watched it.
She could always watch the actual yuri related shows this season... One of them that actually has a lot in common with one project she was involved.
It's kinda silly to watch a yaoi-like show and then gender bender the characters to look like it's yuri, though. Just make yaoi fanatic already.
>We would get to see both the male and female sides of the competition.
That's my problem with the anime.
I don't care it's about gay men, or whatever. But I hate seeing theses things putting female characters to the side doing nothing. Even more if it's a sport they actually practice.
On the other side I don't care if they do that with male character, so I'm a hypocrite.
I am very curious about the title. Did whoever made the anime explained a thing about the title? Was it meant to be a slap in the face to yuri fans or was s/he being seemingly unaware about the mislead it has caused?
Yuri is also a russian name, and it is about russian skaters.
For some reason I immediately figured that when it was first announced here. Was hilarious when it turned out to be yaoi too though.
But like >>2204799 pointed out sort of, the title is in katakana instead of hiragana or kanji, and katakana is used for foreign stuff, and of course there is no distinction for which alphabet something was in when you translate it to english. On top of that it is a name so 'Yuri' can't be translated while the rest of the title can.
It's just an incredibly amusing coincidence.
This was like the perfect combo of cute and lewd.
>Was it meant to be a slap in the face to yuri fans
Really? The description outright says "boys". It isn't b8 for longer than a second at best.
Why the fuck are people here pissed about a /y/ show, to the point we need more than two posts?
I know a woman named Yayoi, so who knows, maybe it's possible
But in truth I just want that horse girl thing to become an anime and have yuri, it could have the ice skating scene in some episode
Can't help you, since I'm not a mobile poster.
But I understand your pain. This is the first time in years I've actually used adblock on 4chan. I usually turn it off on sites I frequently use if the ads are unobtrusive. But these ads are just unacceptable in my opinion.
What are some good artists you've come across, recently?
>You deserve it desu
genuinely curious where this meme came from.
thanks, this was the solution i was going to try next. hadn't been using firefox since i didn't like it for a while but guess i'll have to give it a shot.
tried it, will give it a couple more days but still just prefer the way it works in browser.
thank you neesans.
banning all mobile posters doesn't seem like it would impact the rate of shitposting at all, at least to me.
thanks for explaining. i remember when ban evasion was unplugging your router for a sec.
didn't know about mimi, will give it a shot if firefox + ublock still doesn't feel comfy. just tried posting from clover and it crashed.
I recently watched Murder Princess, and it got me thinking about something.
Now, I'm sure the manga/novel/whatever that it was based on isn't yuri at all. But the small section that was made into the short anime had enough interaction between the two main girls that I could use my goggles on it. But regardless of that, it made me want something specific.
If you don't know, in Murder Princess a princess and a female bandit leader magically switch bodies and they don't know how to change back. The bandit in the princess's body pretends to be the princess, and the princess in the bandit's body pretends to be her maid/servant. As I said, it's not yuri, but they did learn to trust each other and they became sort of close friends in a way. And it had me thinking how great it would be if it was yuri.
Imagine two girls who end up body swapping with no way to change back (currently). They end up becoming closer and then fall in love. But the conflict/drama would come from them being uncomfortable being in love with someone who now looks the way they used to. Kissing/physical affection would be awkward because each one would feel like they are doing it to themselves. Plus you have the whole thing where they realize they are in the body of the person they love, so that part would be embarrassing for them when being alone/naked/etc.
Is there anything similar to that already? I know Swap Swap has body swapping. But it's played for laughs, and they change back whenever they want. I just think it would make for an interesting story.
Unsurprisingly, however much I'd love to read that as well, most people interested in writing bodyswap stories do opposite genders since it gives them a lot more easy contrasts/differences in experience and thus drama to work with.
Kazuma Kowo's contribution to web Rakuen this month is a 6p side-story to Junsui Adolescence:
>Kazuma Kowo is still thinking about the pure water characters after 10 years
>no magazine has given her a yuri serialization in almost 5 years
>Collectors ended recently from Rakuen too.
They need to give her more than 6 pages before I feel happiness again.
Please do not imply that Rakuen is somehow at fault here. If Kazuma wished to do yuri, I'm sure they would let her. Dear Tears has apparently started its final arc so we'll see what she does after it.
Yuru Yuri is a really funny case since Namori is actually afraid of making any couple official since she cares about not destroying her fans feelings about their OTP's so much
>afraid of making any couple official since she cares about not destroying her fans feelings
Is there a source for this? I always assumed she did it to milk the supple teat of yuri success before it runs dry. Also the probable canon ships are already obvious.
And not a shred of hetero outside of one already married minor pairing. Granted it was pretty much non-romance across the entire board, but there was still a fair bit of subtext to work with.
Just because a third person is attracted to one of a pairing, or one half of the pairing is currently attracted to a third person, doesn't mean that pairing isn't already "pretty much confirmed." Being unable to discern between teases and hints is a sign of autism.
I don't ship any couple in YRYR, but those who follow the series should have picked up that Akari x Chinatsu, Rise x sensei, and Sakurako x Himawari are obviously set up to be the endgame. You don't have to ship them, you can go for Akane x Akari or Yui x Chinatsu or sensei x art sensei or whatever, just don't be in denial.
The rest of the characters are caught up in muddier love polygons, so it's less sure who will end up with whom. And that is fine too.
Chinatsu is already dreaming about Akari, and Akari will come around. She just has to slow down a bit until Akari is an adult.
Akari seems to be pretty eager to help her "practice."
I don't like it overall, but people tend to attack the one scene, yeah, so it's hard to have actual arguments about the series as a whole since it devolves into purity arguments.
Anyway I did make this regarding it: http://i.imgur.com/pESawlt.png
HOLY FUCK /u/!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU RIGHT NOW FOR NOT DEVOLVING INTO SHIT.
I think it's the first time I've ever seen this actually not turn into >>2207463 at the mere mention of the word. Good on /u/ guys!
In b4 it actually happens after I say this.
Dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I'm looking for a yuri comic where the main characters are an older blonde woman and a taller, younger girl with black hair who form a relationship.
They knew each other since the black haired girl was a kid and the blonde was in high school or something along those lines.
I drew a panel from memory. This could be fan art, I dunno, but it's the only part I remember well enough to describe.
I'm pretty, pretty sure it wasn't ero, but I never read the entire thing. Think they lived together so sex was probably implied. The black (could also be brown) haired girl was more of a tomboy while the blonde was shy and girlish.
It's such a filthy lie that I feel somewhat aggrieved.
It's true about appealing to CITRUS fans, but I wouldn't say Girl Friends fans (unless you happen to like both). It's really nothing like Girl Friends except for the fact that both are yuri. There's also an EXTREMELY vocal minority on /u/ that despises NTR and wants to foist their hatred upon everybody and won't let up until it's vanished from the face of the earth (which won't happen). Therefore we have to just put up with them, unfortunately.
NTR is VERY soap opera-ee, so if you like drama-heavy soap operas, then you might like NTR.
Appealing to Citrus fans, yeah. Both series have shitty forced drama and seem to be taken out of a mexican soap opera
Fuck me, the write a plot thread died.
What's a nice excuse to have a girl need to kiss a hundred girls as a central plot device?
She was kissed in the night during a massive slumber party during a school trip at her all-girls school. The only way she can find out who stole her first kiss is to find those lips at any cost. The only problem is she has no moves but she'll have to discover her inner player in order to find true love.
The girl who kissed her did so out of true love but seeing her crush turn into a 99 kiss slut means it ends in tears..
Dont put Gunjo fans with these sick bastards. It has a very good reason for the suffering the characters are going through. It's not writing in ntr for ntr's sake, disgusting. Don't even read it for yuri, though it's nice that lesbianism is a factor in their emotional development .
Thank you for reminding me this every month. This chapter was great.
Speaking of yuri series on shounen magazines, the first chapter of 君と6時間の恋をした is out but I didn't find raws of Comic Heaven.
Also Ogino Jun is drawing a yuri one shot in the het ero magazine Comic Xeros next month.
Bikini Warriors new release came out.
They have redone the old episodes.
Old show gave us this.
Redone show gives us this.
There were a couple het pairings in Gamma, but he drew yuri porn of literally every other female character in the series. His pixiv accounts were 100% yuri. He posts about other authors' yuri series on his twitter.
I think it's safe to say he's committed.
I think the editor has more to say in this than the author, if they will want pure yuri one-shot for some diversity they will allow him to draw it, but if it's Ogino Jun fishing for any work at all it can easily be full het or group action.
Chapter 4 of
Yuri Danshiand oh my god does it sum up /u/ (in) General perfectly.
This has to be a scanlator joke or heavily localized dialogue for /u/. I never thought I'd see a manga describe /u/ better than this image.
