So /v/, what video game character most closely resembles your personality?
Pic unrelated. It's not you. Hard mode: don't be an uncreative faggot that posts the Kefka copypasta
You know those games that "detect" when they are pirated? Like GTA4's wobbling camera and other games getting stuck in loops or become unbeatable?
How does a game know if it's pirated? If games can become unplayable when it's pirated, why can't it just be broken from the time you press Start? Why even allow it playable at all?
It's really just an attempt to break the pirate's spirit, or sometimes it's just a cruel joke. I'm sure developers spend their days asking questions like "Why the fuck would someone even want to play some shitty version of our game?" It isn't even worth worrying about.
If someone wanted to play final fantasy and never played a single game before, what game should they start at and what games in the series should they play?
Here is an opinion that ISN'T someone telling you to start with their favorite FF or the first one they played:
Start with the SNES version of FFIV (called FFII) and play FFVI and FFV next in that order.
Now if you liked FFIV the most play FFIX next. (Both games mainly focus on their stories, have very linear gameplay and barely any optinons for character customization due to their characters being locked in their job classes)
Now if you liked FFV the most play FFVIII next. (Both games have a focus character customization and if you actually care about their...

You obviously start with FF7, the most popular one and also the easiest and most accessible one. Perfect for newcomers. If you are already more into sprite-based games, starting with FF6 is the main alternative.
This is the worst idea ever, fuck off. 99% of people who are new to the series would get bored of FF4 in an hour and drop it.
Friendly reminder that you should never emulate
Emulation is great though, the problem is that most people are too stupid to use them without ruining the game in some way. ie. using the wrong aspect ratio, setting a higher resolution than the game was made for, using bad sound plugins, playing games on computers that can't run them at full speed, using fast forward buttons, etc.
Why is Mario 64 praised as one of the best games ever if Crash and Spyro were better platformers and games at the time, and also looked much better and had superior level design and musical score?
I mean, I liked Mario 64 and I know it was a pioneer and all but the camera angle stuff was wacky and it had little going for it against its competition.
Because Super Mario 64 was one of the first games to actually do 3D worlds properly.
Honestly I'm not really liking how FFXV is turning out. The boybandness is weird and the gameplay of the demo seems uninspired.
Can FFXV-kun resist this thread? Find out on this episode of Dragon Ball /v/!
boy bands spend all their time singing about how they love some girl and FFXV…seems to spend most of its time focusing on getting to some princess?
I really am tired of entitled female princess shit. Like all the dudes in the kingdom have nothing better to do than serve you. This is a damned girl game.
what are some other games like this? i'm not big on gaming but i loved the comfy atmosphere of these 3. please tell me there's more.
What is the single greatest JRPG...on PS1?
It doesn't have many to choose from so it should be easy to come to a conclusion.
How come video game developers don't make any games about High School delinquents?
Post your face when this show gets a world in Kingdom Hearts 3
Would we finally be able to Doug faster?

The one where you actually have to look your opponent in the eye while saying what you say.
Also Moneyweather only won because the rules of boxing reward flight over fighting.
