I've been playing through some older jrpgs, recently FF3, and I've realized that I enjoy these kinds of games more when the focus is on how you can customize your party and abilities to overcome the challenges thrown at you rather than follow a story.
So recommend games to me please. I don't want to see googly anime eyes if I can avoid it too.
You want dungeon crawlers then. No real story, character creation for all party members, focus is on resource management and fights.
Try Etrian Odyssey or SMT: Strange Journey.
Labyrinth of Touhou 2 is pretty good about this.
A large portion of it is overcoming difficult bosses through your team loadout.
It also rewards you for being at a level where you're up for a real challenge, and you can freely set everyone's level down.
It's inspired by Etrian Oddyssey, but it isn't unforgiving.
There's also Genius of Sappheiros, also a Touhou fangame, which is long, challenging, and also very customizable.
Get the Devil of Decline patch, it makes the experience better. Also allows easy mode if you like.
Alright /v/. That ONE song that just sets you off, you listen to it and instantly puts a grin on your face.
LETS SEE 'EM.
It didn't really get you pumped, but fuck if it didn't pull you in.
Okay, I just had a copy of this fall in my lap.
I tried the first one back when it came out. While it seemed to get a lot of praise, it felt boring, bland and uninspired to me. Granted I had just finished tons of Demon's Souls.
So I never got more than a couple hours into the first, heard the second sucked. Is this one really a solid, worthwhile 60+ hour experience? Unique enough? Or more just a pretty blend of wrpg/fantasy tropes with Bioware narrative?
The best review I could give it was it wasn't as great as Origins, but it was way better than DA2.
gameplay wise its alright, but kind of dull, rumors how they originally were planning an MMO with the engine but swiftly converted it to DAI seems likely based on most of the sidequests.
So Stephen Colbert had the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess on his show.
Surprised there isn't a thread on /v/

Who else prefers Pokemon XD to Colosseum?
what are some games that go beyond the superficial majority? games that actually try to convey a message, games that have artistic integrity, games that have literary merit...etc.
These games are so deep that it's pretty much a rabbit hole with no end.
What does /v/ think about Tanyers?
I'm completely out of the loop and want to know about Undertale.
What is the deal with the game, why is there any controversy or debate over it, and what does /v/ generally think about it?
Which is your top 5 favorite PS2 tittles?

Anyone else having trouble with the expansion quests on Death March? I beat the game on Death March and it wasnt as hard as this shit. What build are you using?
I find using Yrden and Axii helps with the faster enemies like the arachnomorphs and boars. It's still annoying ploughing through all the enemies when they're like all damage sponges.
Normie fag here, just thought I'd share something I found interesting that my anthropology teacher showed me.
NEW! MGO3 THREAD - WAIFU EDITION
Deus Ex is cheap on Steam right now. Should I get it? I've never played it or known much about it but I hear a lot of people talk about it positively. What about Invisible War and The Fall? Those didn't really get good steam reviews.
Where are the exclusives for this? I got it for Monster Hunter and that's pretty much all I play on it but weren't there supposed to be games that took advantage of the better hardware?
>weren't there supposed to be games that took advantage of the better hardware
That being said homebrew has managed to make it so the New 3DS CPU runs old 3DS games at new 3DS CPU speeds, so it runs old 3DS games better.
Nintendo should patch this shit in.
Hey, first time visitor from /k/ with a hardware question. So I'm on the ol' X360 playing some Skyrim as my favorite controller starts giving me lip. The left stick loses sensitivity when pressed forward; even pressing fully, my guy barely walks. Is this potentially fixable and if so, how? Or am I grabbing a new one on Amazon tonight?
Picture unrelated, an Israeli Name heavy armored personnel carrier armed with a 30mm autocannon.
I will bump this with assorted militaria for an answer.
This is an Enhanced Sea Sparrow Missile, or RIM-162 ESSM. It's a naval mid-range air defense missile, designed to shoot down planes, but mostly sea-skimming anti-ship missiles, at 27 nautical miles, or 50 kilometers.
