What's something you are really, really tired of seeing in video games?
warrior women trope
I'd be completely fine with this if any of them had the build of gwendoline christie with the muscle tone of ronda rousey, but all of them look like playboy models. every single male combat soldier has some muscle, but almost none of the females have any. the devs want to walk a line where they want to have female soldiers in there game, yet still want them to appear sexy. fuck that. give me a shredded 6'3 woman who is cut and has almost no curves
Thoughts on the final design?
I'm surprised they didn't put a texture on the right pad like they did on the left. I think originally they had rings so you could feel where on the surface you were but maybe they hurt over time. An octagon around the outside would have been nice.
Definitely picking one of these up when they launch. Might build a Steam Machine at that time too.
Disregarding the character's familial status, and assuming you are financially and emotionally stable enough to support a child, which /v/ boy would you adopt?
although it's a tossup whether or not I could handle a suicidal cyborg.
Name a flaw.
>Game makes you fight your teammate with all their current stats and equipment
I don't play a lot of RPGs, but only example I can think of is
>New game+ has you maintain your current level
>Every enemy in the game jumps up 30 levels
Will Mass Effect 4 be like the first?
Can we have a hidden gem thread?
Let's talk about those games which you didn't know shit before playing and that turned out to be actually great.
Dragonfall is a blast. One of the best turn-based RPGs I've played in years.
Is the original campaign as good as this one? I heard it isn't, but I'm really looking forward to trying it out anyway.
First one is a typical murder mystery story that turns into saving the world. You may or may not like it. Characters are not as good as DF and some interesting characters only appear at the end game so they don't have any development.
Playing Dragonfall before the original campaign was a mistake (if you still intend to play the main campaign, that is) and unless you're extremely forgiving you're going to have an even harder time slogging through it. I actually quit the game for a couple months because I was so bored with the campaign. When I beat it and switched over to dragonfall it was like someone flipped a "good" switch in the development process.
AW SHIT MOTHERFUCKER, ARE YOU READY FOR MORE DESPAIR?
I've seen multiple people say that the lore in the DaS2 DLC tries and fails to continue what DaS1 started.
Is this true? In what way?
The DLC of Dark Souls 2 is completely different. It's about a couple of kingdoms getting corrupted and falling to ruin from the undead curse. It has nothing to do with anything in Dark Souls 1.
Overall the DLC are all great. They all have a unique style to them that makes them distinct.
It just plays into the awful sequel baitey concept of cycles that plagued Dark Souls 2 even more. They go full Bioshock Infinite with the "There's always a King. There's always a Manus Shard. There's always Undead" notion so that they can forever rehash the same concept through cycles and make the same game forever.
ITT Games you think only you played.
Disney out pokemoned pokemon, and nobody played it
Why don't you support indie games, /v/?
1)Pixel graphics. Lazy for the most part unless well done (see Metal Slug or Mercenary Kings)
2)Platformers. Stop it.
3)'Retro'. Which is a code word for my pixel art sucks so it looks old amicoolyet xDD
And of course the indie dev mentality and look doesn't help. Granted I'm generalizing as there are good indie games, they're just very rare.
GOG INSOMNIA SALE THREAD
BUY TEN COPIES EDITION
But I already play DRM-free games on Steam.
What makes the gog client so special?
Hardmode: only post your stations, not some shit weve all seen 500x.
This is what the station looks like now that we moved to a bigger place.
havent seen this in forever, this is what it all started out as
How does on make turn based combat "fun"?
Add some degree of interaction basically.
It doesn't even really need to be anything major, but for fucks sake, let people interact a little instead of pressing a button and watching some numbers fly out of a bad guy.
