What is the /v/ opinion on this series? main games only please, no sperging out over fucking chain of memories.
Childhood is playing as Orcs and Elves and beast races.
Adulthood is realizing humans are the best fantasy race.
When I was a teen in the 90s the only thing I dreamed of being as an adult was a video game developer. I'd already begun developing games on home computers. I couldn't see me doing anything else with my future.
I got swept up in that mentality, that I'll make my own game and be successful like my idols. I never got higher education since I knew that I already knew everything I needed to know to do what I wanted to do, and it sounded like a waste of time. I just sputtered through life for years, making engines I never finished for ideas I could never fully flesh out, making flash games and web games for companies I had no passion for, reducing myself to meaningless contract work for web development just to have money in my pocket, and writing software under a company that I considered true scum. And since I'm always broke there's also the occasional computer repair freelancing, which is even mind-numbingly worse since it exposes you to the true stupids of the world.
So now I basically have no respectable experience for a resume, no education, no personal breakthroughs outside of hobby-tier shit, no savings, and no prospects.
Learn from my mistakes. Don't assume you're going to be the Next Big Thing, kids. Especially not today, in this oversaturated market where video games are actually cool and anyone can dump something on the Steam store and barely make enough to pay back the cost of membership.
Making a breakout video game today is almost entirely about viral marketing and knowing people. Nothing really comes from nowhere anymore. There's always some backstory they don't tell you. Just get an education, get a stable job, and don't ruin video games for yourself.
If you did freelance web development then you easily have enough experience to get started as an entry-level web dev making like 60k a year.
That is if you actually learned the shit and weren't hacking together stuff in dreamweaver.
I have $20.49 in my Steam Wallet, recommend me something
I find that I have NO confidence in myself when playing video games.
Like rarely do I feel like I can take on another player. 1v1 situations in video games make me want to run away from the fight in game. Its why I can't play fighting games. I just feel like I can't take on the other player or that they know something I don't.
How do you improve confidence when playing games?
I play a lot of dota and I often just play support. I just don't have the confidence for a core postion.

>People who are particularly skilled in certain games.. how did you get to that point?
By playing and accepting I'll lose.
>How do you get to the point of saying " I can win this!"
I don't. I play even if I might lose so I can improve.
If someone held a gun up to your head and forced you to get a video game tattoo, what would be the least cringy thing to get?
Personally, I thing the foxhound logo looks nice and it isn't obviously game related.
Health-bars/buttons are atrocious.
I already have a tattoo of a video game, it's the log o of my WoW guild that I was in for like 5 years. Went to the wedding of my GM very recently, even though I don't play WoW anymore.
What game explores cosmic horror?
ITT: videogame kinos
>draw a girl
>call it boy
why do video games do this?
Looking to get some Christmas cheer after some asshole punched you in the face for your PS4, or the thing you wanted was sold out? Well, you've come to the right place. Trying again, because last time no one wanted any hats.
Santa Hat Transparencies:
I was thinking of some rpgs to play on my new 3ds. Is it ok to just start on the third entry in the series? I mean why else would they have only localised this one and not the rest?
It's ok. All the stories are mostly self contained and anything you need to know about previous entries is explained in game.
He didn't even look to see who that was.
What if that guy was really popular with the men or was the only one who remembered where they parked?
Why would you even do that? Don't your men need to know they can trust you and that you won't murder them for literally no reason?
Officers throughout history have been fragged over way less.
He did it because HE'S DA BAD GUY.
Seriously, even for Call of Duty, Infinite Warfare's story was absurdly hamfisted. Just call them Space Nazi's for fuck's sake.
When does it get good?
give me one reason to not go buy this right now
also recommend games
Anyone still playing this shit?
So is it worth $10 to once again live out my fantasy of being a cute lesbian with a good career?
don't mind me. just delivering this bottle to page 10
Why do people still play this shitty game?
>Blatant hackers, smurfs, trolls in every single rank
>Always forced to play 4v5 because Dimitri's internet shut off
>Worst, most non-transparent ELO system ever created
>Everything changes once every few months because of Valve wants to make the game take no skill in aiming and make everything RNG so casuals don't get mad
>Completely based on the premise of taking...
