Wtf is wrong with game devs these days
They know most people have >1 TB of storage and anyone buying these kinda games have high end PCs so they get super fucking lazy with every aspect of programming and developing. They don't compress things that can be, any part of the game that wasn't programmed by a third party like physics engines and so forth are riddled with terrible inefficient spaghetti code that only occasionally gives the results it's supposed to. I'm not even going to get into how the quality of the game design has declined either, just purely from a functionality point of view the level of poor optimization and buggy gameplay that is considered "acceptable" has gone through the roof.
You should watch the playthrough of Bad Fur Day by the old Rare team that worked on it, some of the shit they managed to squeeze out of the old 64 cartridges is absolutely amazing. If devs used their big teams to extend that "we have limited space and limited processing power" mentality to more modern games hardware wouldn't be obsoleted so fast. Actually, considering how many sponsorship deals are done with hardware manufacturers and developers it's quite possible games are intentionally made to be poorly functioning just to drive up GPU sales
Help me /v/. Which one should I buy? PS4 btw
Doom looks cool but it also looks like a "the doors lock and you have to kill a wave of enemies to get to the next door that locks etc". I know quality over quantity but it seems quite short, repetitive and I'll probably not replay it. How's the multiplayer?
Fallout 4 seems interesting but the game looks and runs like shit from what I've seen. I'm kind of a fan of the huge open world games though.
or should I just get Overwatch
Doom is seriously fun. Nonstop action. The death metal starts playing, demons come screaming into view and time to fucking go! Fallout has more substance, but on the sheer badass action sense. Not as good as doom. Honestly fallout 4 wasnt as good as 3 or new vegas. Buy doom. Its cheaper anyway. The multiplayer feels like the comfy days of quake arena.
Both of those games are well worth a purchase. If you're determined to only buy one, Fallout. You'll get many many more hours out of that, unless you wanna replay Doom multiple times (which you said you don't) or fuck around with snapmap.
Now look at this Nep

What was the first video game you ever played? Who was the first character you played as?
My cousin gave me his playstation and Super Puzzle Fighter was my first. I liked cute things when I was five, so when I saw Felicia I picked her.
I want a nice comfy horror indie pixelshit PC game for tonight. What should I buy?
Didn't like Lakeview Cabin, Lone Survivor was kinda boring.
This is a PS4 game.
This is Kanon Daiba, a god eater wirkinh for Fenrir, say something nice about her!
Save me from this QTE hell. How did we fall this low? Is FFXV the FF with the most of QTE? Does it actually beat FFXIII-2 in that field?
Does it have more than seven QTEs? If you don't count the monsters of course. Besides XIII-2's QTEs were telegraphed, optional and humorous, if you failed them.
Use your vidya knowledge to fight the boss

Is this the comfiest Final Fantasy yet?
Can a Fighting Game like Tekken actually be considered a true "3D" fighter?
Considering 99% of the Fighting actually take place in 2 dimensions as height barely plays a role in the movement (well, now with Akuma it actually has more relevance, but if you consider jumping as simply move with a lowcrush property, the actual height of the animation doesn't much of a role other than hitbox/hurtbox interaction)
When no actual movement does take place in the 3rd dimension, is it fair to call it a 3D fighter?
Fighting games are built from arbitrary design conventions, nothing about any fighting game is realistic at all. Even the very name "fighting" game is wrong.
So of course they are not "3D".
