Hey /v/, what was the most shocked by violence have you been in a vidya ??
for me (OP) it was getting reaped appart by the boomer in last of us
(the most recent at least)
RE5 when those clam things bite you in half. I was more surprised though than shocked. That was like the only really gory death in that game and I didn't think there really would be any.
Posidens bitch being used as a door prop for Kratos
Even for GoW I really didn't see that shit coming
that guy that plays the mountain can deadlift 1000lbs in real life
i dont even find it questionable in the slightest that he could crush a man's head into the ground in that fashion
I don't think you realise how strong the dude actually is.
A lot of gory games like Gears of War, the new Wolfenstein, etc aren't particularly shocking. Comical is more the word. And satisfying. I guess some of the deaths in the Dead Space games are kind of fucked up though (the eye scene in DS2, the acid spitter necromorphs, the one that rips off your head and attaches itself in it's place). The torture scene in GTA 5 was also kind of uncomfortable to play.
That's what happens when you crush something. Jesus, skull and brains go flying if someone's head gets caved in, nevermind pushed as to attempt to occupy the same space. Squash an grape. See what happens.
the bloke weighs 420lbs and was pushing oberyn's head into a stone floor with all his might
even a normal man can severely fracture a skull by smashing someone's head into the ground
That's another problem.
Call me autistic all you want but if you were able to squash a skull like a grape, the brain wouldn't come out through your head.It would come out through your nose simply because the skull is thinner there and it would be unnatural for the brain to go out a path of greater resistance.
He can lift 1000 pounds with his legs and hold it in his hands.
That's fucking impressive, yeah, but those are completely different muscle groups from the ones you use to squash something between your hands.
And unless he's doing a handstand on the guy's head, those 200kg are only going to apply a fraction of their weight.
as big as his hands are + the fact he had his fingers inside through the eye sockets applying pressure not only to the sides but the front would easily make it feasible.
slamming the head down onto the hard surface of the floor basically guaranteed it like cracking an egg open
while nowhere near the most shocked violence I've ever seen the harpoon to the head in Killzone 3 certainly was surprising
Do you love me anon?
Castrating a child in Crusader Kings 2
Some moments in Dwarf Fortress
Nothing graphical but damn .....
Those plant dudes, like, jeez.
Yeah that too.
Also stuff like killing prisoners taken when raiding some province as vikings, human sacrifice during Blot ...Ck 2 is full of moments like that
As a Viking, I look forward to every Blot. I keep the most prestigious or holy of prisoners years in advance for it. I haven't had a bloody good Blot in a while, come to think of it.
God of War 3's ripping that one guys head off his body kind of disgusted me a while back. Also the part in MW2 where you just walk around shooting civilians kind of bothered me.
Dunno about most shocked but recently I did find it pretty gruesome how that one guy in Dead Rising 3 was killed via insects erupting out of him
I felt that Ground Zeroes didn't have enough time to fully justify the events that happened during the game. Especially to Paz.
But, I still really enjoyed it. Even though /v/ shits on it, when The Phantom Pain is released /v/ will hail it as a masterpiece of gaming and storytelling, I can imagine it now;
"It's amazing how Kojima can tell such an effective story and successfully set up theme's for another game with such a limited amount of time!"
/v/ will forget that Ground Zeroes was nothing but a cash in.
Probably this part of Outlast: Whistleblower.
the first time this happened left me genuinely in awe
the animation is just slow enough to make you think that you're going to survive it
pound for pound I'd have to say God of War 3 takes the cake for most shocking violence.
>beating Posiden for a good 2 minutes, bitch slapping him into a rock head first, puttin his eyes out with your thumbs then breaking his neck and throwin him off the mountain
>ripping Helios head off with your bear hands
>cutting off one of Hermes legs, letting him crawl across the floor trying to get away, pick him up by the other remaining leg and slice it off as well
>bashing Hercules face in with his fists
>ripping Crono's finger nails off, allowing yourself to be swallowed then cutting him open from the inside having his guts fall out, then drive a giant nail up through his chin
>posidens female being squashed
Thank the gods it was before SJWs got in power
>King of Byzantine Emperor
Do you mean Basileus of Byzantine Empire ??
i always end up Bloting some poor teenage courtier kidnapped on one of my raids ...
salvador introduced the instant-kill factor in the game and it was achieved with cold efficiency
while the acid reflux death is more gruesome, it didn't shock me as much as the chainsaw death
Paradox games could be very creepy. When you realize, you just executed your kinsman, blinded some annoying noble, murdered several children, removed removed heretics and let thousands of your soldiers die for some petty claim. Without second thought. And worse, people really did and still do this stuff.
Don't suppose you have anything of ronda rousey do you?
it's still not how he killed him
he smashed his face repeatedly, knocking out his teeth and eyes in the process, before finally reaching his brain and splattering it everywhere
I have this image as well but i have no idea who this is..
Just saved coz shes hot.
Yeah pretty much this ...
As a duke of Aquitaine i once tortured to death almost 20 ppl including 6 year old girls ....
All he had to do was NOT absent-mindedly dance around the guy he was supposed to kill. Do you people also empathize with idiots in horror films who keep "splitting up" and "going back to solve the mystery"? All he had to do was kill a man who was already on the ground and he couldn't even do that. The writers made him deserving of death so I couldn't care less for him when he did die. They were so obviously setting him up for it I don't see how anyone could be surprised. The real tragedy is that they ruined a formerly cool character by making him a retard in his last living moments.
In the new Tomb Raider when you're getting tossed down the river and have to avoid stuff like pointy fucking logs/sticks everywhere, and if you don't dodge them... Watching Lara getting impaled from underneath her jaw into her head actually got a reaction from me.
Same goes for the part when you're jumping around on the shipwreck, and if you fall in the water, Lara flails a bit underwater for a second before the riptide forces her downwards, and she slams her head off a rock, blood trailing from her.
I'm sure I've seen worse, but that's just what I remember off the top of my head this very instant.
>The chainsaw sisters
>Panic and double back the moment they appear
>Make a stand in a corner with a clear view
>One sister appears
>Empty as much ammo into her as it takes
>Eventually register that the chainsaw noise hasn't stopped
>The other sister comes at me from the side
>Camera becomes stuck in the corner and the whole screen is painted in blood until Leon's head falls off
Is this game any good? The first one was an alright easy stealth game.
Also, jacked chicks are like my number 1 motivation to work out. Buh god do they look good.
>get a bullet through your eye
>then burned alive
But yeah, as much as I hate to say it modern warfare and mw2 were pretty good single player games. I didn't see that shit coming at all.
Then they made like 40 more of the same game and I stopped buying/renting them
>The audience's reactions
>you get a bullet through your eye
Actually, it's Ghost that gets the .44 round to the head. It looks like you/Roach take(s) it somewhere in the abdominal area before getting dragged off for cremation.
Did you miss the whole point of what he was trying to do? He needed Clegane to admit to being responsible for Elia's death and shed light on Tywin's involvement for Dorne. He got lost in his purpose and his anger over it, true, but he wasn't being a retard, he was just being true to his fatal flaw.
When I was 6 or 7, I played a game on NES or Megadrive, I'n not sure. It was a fun japanese platformer, you played as a loli magician in red, you could use magic with cards and shit.
Before the final boss, there was a cutscene. It showed your best friend (presumably, it was all in japanese), also a girl, all beat up and bloody. I was pretty shocked, I haven't seen any detailed violence in vidya before that.
So goddamn nuts.
Also the regenning necron in Dead Space when it kills you. Just how he implains you and swipes your limbs off while Issac just slowly moves his hand showing he's still alive. Gat dang.
The beginning is great, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The BDSM club is the high point of the game, then it starts to fall a part a bit. Some later levels are good, and some are really bad.
It loses a good 50% of the effect on me because graphically, it looks like shit. Aside from the occasional sterile-looking decapitation and bloodspray, there's no actual wounds on the model after shoving a giant fucking piece of glass into someone's eye, for example.
Im sorry but no.
He already KNOWED that Mountain killed Elia and he knowed that Tywin was the one giving orders.
And even if Mountain would confesed, what good would come from that ??
Is he going to drag the most powerfull man in Westeros to court ??
Face it - they made him stupid on purpose - so he can die a gruesome death to shock the audience.
Dwarf Fortress for me... some shit I done haunts me still...
It was the exact same in the books, so no, it wasn't done to shock they audience. And all he had was speculation. If he has a murder confession, and a conspiracy confession, in front of a whole crowd, then yes, Dorne would press to have Tywin pay for the crime. The crown's armies being stretched thin and in debt, that is literally the worst thing that could happen to Tywin. Tywin might be the "most powerful man in Westeros" but this series has been reinforcing how little that means.
Sorry , English is not my primary language.
He's supposed to be an agile fighter, and would be aware that the Mountain is both able and willing to knock him over.
Oberyn is just conveniently retarded in that scene to further the plot.
I was 12 years old when I watched Snake put his Arm back in place.
The cracking + sound he made made me cringe like nothing else.
I just don't understand why people are still going apeshit over this. It was an okay death. The character who died was also okay, but neither of it was anything fucking mindblowingly great. Please explain why you and the reddit fags wont shut the fuck up about it.
The scene of Wei getting tortured in Sleeping Dogs made me cringe. Mostly that fucking drill to the knee, holy christ
That part in saints row 2 where they chain your homie up behind a car and drive around until the skin has peeled off of his face. Then you shoot him to put him out of his misery.
He's a headstrong braggart getting more and more angry as the scene goes on. Would you expect a man you've stabbed in the stomach to have the strength to knock you off your feet?
That part in Skyrim where some assassin lady gets skinned surprised me. It wasn't the gruesomeness that surprised me but the fact they actually created a unique model and skin for that one moment even though the rest of the game was so shit. I wish I could get my time back.
Getting eaten in Abe's Odyssey always unnerved me as a kid though
Completely unnecessary. We're removing layers of intrigue in order to have monologues from characters who don't matter, diatribes on fucking sexuality at every turn and shitty plots with minor characters that did not need to happen. Seriously, Renly being gay was a good idea. Everything to do with sexuality beyond that makes me roll my eyes.
That certainly is part of the appeal. To be fair, the "shocking" things have massive ramifications in the plot and are also mostly based loosely on historical occurrences. So, you could say it was actually done in order to advance the Dornish plot.
since there's no Coldhands to guide them, they take a detour and get captured by the deserters from the Night's Watch
Jon shows up with other rangers (including Vargo Hoat!?) and kills them all, but Bran escapes before Jon finds him
seriously, they're making it weird
part of it is the people over the show trying to keep some of the lesser side plots/character to minimim.
Part of it is trying to stall for time so that maybe by some divine act of god fatarse manages to get off his ass and finish writing the books.
Part of it is Fatty McFat going back and changing shit personally.
Part of it is said people doing the show prefer certain characters over others so they're biased over them.
Oblivions has some serious torture/SM dungeon shit going on. Then there was that sidequest where you are lured into a house full of vampires, there were plenty of creepy scenes in Oblivion. But SWAT 4's serial killer and child killing cult still take the cake.
I get that it's hinted, but I mean the more overt inclusion of it was okay. Making it the defining point of his character and not his callow, boyish charisma was a giant misstep.
I know its not a pretty good game but I was honestly very unsettled by the killer questline in DragonAge 2.
You hear rumors of a psychopath that does his deeds in your hometown. I did not follow that questline immediately cause I thought it was just another shitty sidequest. Later it turns out that the killer is a psycho who basically assembles his long lost love out of several different bodyparts of other girls that remind him of his ex and then plans to revive that thing via blood magic.
your mom is kidnapped. I assumed I would find her and rescue her last minute and save the day. Turns out that he has already killed her and sewed off her had and put it on that abomination of different body parts. You have to kill her and the guy.
After that shit I had to turn off my xbox. I have seen more brutal shit but this freaked me, particularly because I really did not expect this terrible outcome. I mean
he even put her in a brides gown that sick fuck. I could not save her..
the sex thing is really something of a problem for all the premium channels when it comes to their shows.
Almost every show on HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Stars tends to go over board on sex.
you could probably make a drinking game outta the shit
>one shot for every man ass you see
>one shot for every penis you see
>2 shots for every tits you see
>shot if you manage to see the pussy
>shot for every time you spot a woman moaning
>shot for every time you spot the man with a straight if bored face on rocking back and forth imitating humping
>3 shots if its a gay sex scene OUTTA FUCKING NOWHERE (looking at you Penny Dreadful)
>shot if you spot the shit they place between the males and female genitals to make sure balls aren't touching and nothing accidentally penetrates anything
>chug the whole bottle if by some miracle you see actual penetration
wut. Imprison those niggas and execute them. Kill your wife and deal with the ensuing rebellion. Great way to weed out disloyal nobles.
Unless you're running an agnatic succession, in which case you're fucked.
It's the female heir I was worried about. In that king's lifetime, I had conquered two kings. I could keep them at bay, keep them sweet, but a female ruler would've easily pushed them into an independance rebellion or, worse, supporting someone else in the family.
For some reason the scene that shocked the most was not graphical at all neither from a horror game or something.
It was seeing what Yuna did to Elina, and then the frustration of not being able to do anything about that made it worse. Caught me complete off guard.
That fucking torture scene in GTA.
Man, I don't know it's just something about Torture that puts me off, that one bit where Trevor smashes that guys knee cap and all you see is a pool of blood is still in my mind right now.
I felt a little shocked going through that hotel of body parts in Max Payne 3. I don't know why either because looking back it seemed a bit tame compared to other stuff I've played in games before hand.
nothings had quite the impact like the battle scenes in The Animatrix.
BUT HE'S THE MOUNTAIN
No, but seriously, the mountain is stronger than anyone irl and he was on top so he could push down onto the hard ground. Also, in the books the mountain's fist is covered in thick steel and he punches oberyn two or three times, which makes more sense for crushing his skull.
The mountain weighs 420 pounds in the books, and Hafthor Bjornnson weighs 419; on top of that he has heavy armor on. The moutain in the books has unrealistic strength, and show mountain just won 2nd strongest man in tghe world earlier this year. He was pushing down on Oberyn's head while his fingers were in his eye sockets. I was just saying that it's easier to beleive in the books.
No, there hasn't, that's why you can't think of an example. There is no pussy shot in any TV program ever. You're like those Basic Instinct faggots who want to keep believing that you can spot more than darkness and or panties between Sharon Stone's legs. Pretending you saw something != you saw something.
Screencap or confirmed bullshit.
>granted its only slightly less elusive than a drunken bigfoot
In Devil Survivor, a boss appears and kills Keisuke.
In my playthrough, I had battled Keisuke a couple of times, trying to save him from his own bullshit, but then that boss (Pazuzu I think) showed up behind him, grabbed his head, lifted him up, and instantly fried the guy with electricity. Afterwards, he just slumps lifelessly to the ground.
Despite it being sprites on a DS screen, that horrified me.
Not shocked but what really fucks me off is seeing my PC from a first or third person view getting royally fucked up. Too a point in where you see them getting fucked up and being unable to do anything to stop it. RE4 with Doc Salvodor with his fucking chainsaw still makes me cringe and rage. AvP also had its moments, especially as a human going up against a Xenomorph.
For showfags - The Hound is left to die by Arya and then later on there's a huge guy on an island in Brienne chapters with some connections to the Hound so it seems pretty likely that he's the Hound. He has a wound in the same place the Hound did even.
Blood and gore in games have never particularly shocked me, but I've recently been replaying GUN and never remembered how brutal and gritty it is.
>dat dismemberment that keeps your enemies alive
>go to scalp a still living enemy
>"Not my top knot! Aaaaah!!"
>everyone, even the fucking main villain, gets along and fix their shit just to stop you
>you proceed to kill them all
Not a single game has a better evil path, or hell, a better villain.
This game had its moments, surprised now at how much I used to enjoy doing it for shits and giggles. Glad I don't have that game anymore.
You mean a giant bush blocking the view to the point where she might aswell be wearing underwear, right? Again, without a screencap you could claim any bullshit you like. It has never ever happened. Pussy doesn't go on TV.
do you not understand that saying "muh" in front of something usually entails that it's facetious?
you know what, nevermind, it's obvious school has just let out for you, I've got better things to do than argue
>only one mention of prey
the scene where you
fight against your girlfriend-monster-crossovergave me so many feels.
I didn't even get a boner, taht's how disturbing it was.
I don't remember the name of the game because I was at a friends place.
He was playing some zombie game, probably a resident evil or a clone, and a guy mutated into a HUEG zombie fuck. His ribcage split open and a head (I think?) grew out.
Also State of Emergency, that game where you can pretty much beat a person to death with their leg. It wasn't really "shocking" but I remembered how over the top that shit was.
No I think it was straight to DVD. Came out around the time of Matrix Reloaded I think. I just remember being 15 and seeing this late at night. back then it was depressing as shit, and still unsettling to this day. However it was damn effective.
We watched this during my first tour and even guys who routinely have to clean little afghanny child blood off humvee grills cringed a bit at that part.
Everything about the Xenomorph makes me cringe and rage at the same time. Fuck those little bastards.
>Getting jabbed in the side of the torso by a bayonet wielder mutant.
>Urge to purge rising
My rage could not be contained when that happened.
>Play AvP2 multiplayer as a Marine
>Have a fucking blast
>Killing aliens left and right
>Not flinching if a Facehugger snags me
>Always top scoreboards
>Play AvP2 singleplayer
>Shitting my pants constantly because I'm completely afraid of facehuggers
I don't know what it is.
Ah thought so, because I thought it was a cartoon the sort you would see on Adult Swim. Also I saw that scene you mentioned about the marine in the mech, fuck that is depressing as shit. Those pleas for help, fuck that shit.
obiviously manhunt. was 16 when it came out and got from a friend who bought it during the few hours where it wasn't banned in germany. couldn't imagine what the fuzz was about. shooters had been around quite a while. but holy shit. i was not prepared. not at all.
>These fuckers right here deserve what they get.
If you had played through the entire thing you will know of what I mean. A swift sickle to the balls or across the torso.
I think the one moment that was really emotionally jarring for me and incredibly intense was the start of chapter 7 in Kane & Lynch Dead Men, where
you're digging your own grave and they kill your wife in front of you, leading to you bashing the head of one of those guys in with your shovel
you don't know that in the beginning. for all you knew, you were having a good time on the green mile for god knows what you did, and now you're out again. didn't seem righteous at all
All the gangs save for the Hoods and the cops are up for morale pandering. Everyone else is in there for kicks. As far as I can guess the Babyfaces are a bunch of retards and the Skullz are a bunch MS13 beaners.
Gore never shocked me,but some scenes where people struggle for the life like trying to limp away or pulling a blade just before dying are uncomfortable as fuck.
That game contained some seriously fucked up shit.
>Seeing the earth far in the distance as you wake up being loaded onto the ship.
>Watching your father getting impaled by that processing machine.
>The fucking school kids.
I had completely forgotten about this.
I picked it up mostly because Meada worked on it, and I honestly just expected some cheesy action with little takes on it here and there. In no way did I expect the retelling of humanity vs machine. That utter sense of helplessness and cries for help as that guy is ripped from his mech is still just haunting.
I can't recall, are you forced to sit through your character twitching in pain as the chestbuster smashes his ribcage? Or are you considered "dead" the moment the facehugger gets you?
The buildup with just running around for like 10 or so minutes, finding skinned humans hanging around, your teammates idle banter.
Shame I was too much of a pussy to play more than 1 or 2 missions.
Oberyn was pretty cool. But I don't see why it's so shocking even for people who read the book.
Here's a denial version of the scene.
But that makes sense. When your opponent has superior reach you need to compensate with a longer weapon. What else was he going to do? The spear isn't why he got rekt any way so how did you come to that conclusion?
It's got some annoyances (no cover button, just automatic sticky cover) but it's good overall. The devs also brought their command system over from Freedom Fighters, so if you've ever played that game, it's a bit like that but you're criminals pulling jobs.
"Well that wasn't so bad"
>and this is what happens when you screw up
Yeah i agree that this is the only part that i didn't expect in that game. It was decent, but only the shock. That level was shit, hunting for the murdered was shit, everything was shit.
I was sure i'll be able to revive her or do something but nope. Probably last time that Bioware made something decent, even if it's 10 seconds long.
I was a little disturbed the first few times I saw Sheeva's skin rip fatality in MK9. I don't know, skin being ripped off is one of the few gory things that consistently makes me cringe, and the screams didn't hurt.
It's not very easy to understand. My brother read the books way before the idea for a show was even conceived. I talked to him about this specific scene from the book during season 1 and he didn't really get it either how Oberyn died exactly.
How i imagined it is he got in Gregor's face and Gregor grabbed his head and stuck his gloved fist in his mouth, killing him instantly.
Probably just part of the overall theme/art direction, then again.. that Pain guy from Narutu has a path called Asura Path which allows how to grow mechanical arms that shoot lasers and shit.
>/v/ in charge of knowing what the fuck a wyvern is
If it has more than two legs, wings attached to those or not, it's not a wyvern.
>token helmeted soldier actually lasted longer than Tai
not video game but
2 things come to mind:
The game Technocop on the genesis. A lot of blood, dead bodies twitch & the ability to murder children.
In the beginning, you witness a dream of how everyone in the game is going to die. One character's corpse looks like she had an ALIENS moment. Later in the game, she's raped by a monster (the word rape is actually used) & explodes off screen. That means in the beginning, you saw her exploded uterus corpse.
How do you not die of blood loss nearly instantly from getting your legs cut off and a giant hole stabbed into your chest? I know they're plugged up within a few minutes but I mean the time inbetween then should've killed you.
It's important to note that deadlifting requires strength from your back. The Mountain is clearly using his back as well as his hands when he's pressing down on Oberyn.
Also note how he's gouging Oberyn's eyes. That means he's pressing through those orbital bones, basically meaning he's literally in Oberyn's head, where the skull is a lot more fragile (not to mention the firm grip on his temples)
tl;dr it is not nonsensical for a man of the Mountain's size, weight, and strength, who also might be buffed by adrenaline, to crush a man's skull when said man is under his hands and all the weight of his back and forearm muscles is being pressed down on him.
>all these people talking about anatomy as if they know anything about it
Your skull has small sections of bone behind your eye sockets, with enough physical exertion you could break these easily (especially given how heavy the Mountain is) and once that is broken, the integrity of the bone surrounding it is tarnished, meaning even more force would lead to him being able to apply more weight and crush through the now weakened bone.
The only cheesy part of it was when his head exploded, but considering the Mountain was pushing with all his weight til he got past the bone, it's pretty likely that by the time his gigantic hands had finished their momentum, they completely crushed his brain.
First time I played Fallout 1 demo, I was 12, I took a critical hit from a gatling gun and my character exploded while screaming. I wasn't expecting this and I was really shocked.
Next week after that I bought Fallout 1 and it's the best fucking video game ever.
Silent hill 4,
the kids the cult held imprisoned in the water tower were starved to death and the ones who were still alive were fed the corpses of the dead kids
I'ts still the most revolting thing I've ever experienced.
I'm not a baby
Even if I was, a month or two on 4chan desynthesizes people
The only thing that tazes me is rape. Not the 2d porn kind, but realistic depiction
Let me fix this post for you, Anon.
>No, I'm not a baby. Even if I was, a month or two on 4chan desensitizes people.
>The only thing that fazes me is rape. Not the 2D porn kind, but realistic depictions.
Violence? Unless you're talking about the fact that he hits like a truck and will 1-hit kill most characters, no. The real shock of this scene was seeing him hollowed after hearing about how strong he was, and realizing that you're helpess to the same fate. The music starting as you wander into his arena was so damn atmospheric. I nearly cried, like with Gwyn.
Soldier of Fortune 2, when I saw cartel thug holding his own guts, after beign shot with M590.
Honestly, in that game death animations and sounds were even more impressive than gore itself.
Tomb Raider reboot was pretty much nothing but murder scenario after murder scenario.
>Fall off a cliff and into the water
>Think I am gonna have to swim back to the start
>The current smashes me into a rock and Lara just drifts slowly in the water
Worst one by far.
if you're paying attention in the scene he has a whole bunch of them, too, and his squire tosses him a fresh one after the first gets cut in half. the only mistake he made was going too far and trying to get a confession out of the mountain that would be good enough to implicate tywin; if anything, he went into battle knowing he would die and was shocked he had seemingly won so easily without having more time to hear him say the words.
that said I don't think either he (or the viewers) expected him to die in quite so awful a fashion. sliced up bit by bit, or just straight up cleaved in half? sure, that honestly wouldn't have been as bad. it's the screams, the helplessness, the [spoilers]SPLORCH[/spoilers], and ellaria's absolute horror that really make it over the top
1 minute is pretty long.
I am nowhere as big as Mountain guy (although i am pretty big).
To kill someone that is that much smaller would take 10-20 seconds.
Imagine you trying to kill a 10 year old , just a stomp on his head would be enough.
Seriously 1 minute is pretty long.
But that's most likely what would happen if some kind of advanced civilization were to find us. I doubt humans would be all that friendly to other races if they ever were to find other races. We'd just invade their solar systems and put down our shit, take their shit and if they don't like it, well.. look at the Indians.
In The Walking Dead, that one part where the guy gets mad and shoots that other guy a couple times even when hes dead. I felt kinda shocked or something, was the only time I felt something from vidya.
I really don't think he thought he was going to die in that fight at any time. He was pretty deadset on getting revenge on every Lannister in King's Landing.
I think you're reaching pretty hard by saying he expected to die because he had multiple spears and he was trying to wring a confession out of him.
I don't know if the show will go that route or not, but he poisoned his spears so that the Mountain would be in agonizing pain, to make him suffer for what the Mountain did to Oberyn's sister. He just got killed because he was too invested in getting a confession/making him suffer rather than actually killing him.
This is what pisses me off about it. HE WAS FIGHTING TO THE DEATH WITH SOMEONE! The Mountain has been in since the first series, and Oberyn has been in since the beginnning of this season, and was going to be leaving once he killed the mountain anyway. You'd have to be fucking retarded to not see it coming from a mile off, or at the very least expect that he might die!
And the point is , when there is SUCH a big difference in size (mountain + obyern) there would be nothing the little guy could do besides run (disregarding any form of weapons).
That's why i compared it would be like a grown man vs a 10 year old.
>inb4 some retarded faggot comes say that he can win against someone twice his size because of "quickness and agility" this ain't no fucking video game , there is a reason why they have weight classes in martial arts.
We might have to if we don't think of alternative ways to produce power in space. Nuclear is too risky, so is anti-matter. Maybe if we invented a material better than graphene with 99.997% solar panel efficiency and had batteries with enormous capacities..
>what was the most shocked by violence have you been in a vidya
Some of the shit that you can do in Dwarf Fortress is pretty gruesome.
Some day we'll be able to pluck crossbow bolts straight out of the air and throw them right back at the marksman who fired them.
>people keep saying that Paz shit.
I haven't played any metal gear since 4, but I played through GZ at a buddy's house the other day, and after all that hooplah I was a little underwhelmed. The whole scene came off as pretty cheesy. Dude cuts her open, digs around her intestines like hes tossing a salad, then just pulls out a package and throws it away. No internal bleeding, no complications. It was kind of fucking retarded.
The torture scenes in previous entries in the games were worse than that.
Don't see it happening. Oberyn died during Trial By Combat, a custom widely practiced in the Seven Kingdoms. It's not exactly like Dorne's got casus belli to go try to fuck up the Lannister controlled Westerlands and The Reach. That and you've got to remember that the Heir of Dorne is married to the Lannister girl.
But eating humans is a waste of ressources. Human beings reproduce slowly, grow up slowly, need a lot of food and can be used for other stuff. If you want a source food, those already commonly used here would still be the best way
I think long-distance space travel will only be possible through succesive colonizations and terraforming of every planet between Earth and the goal
Yeah but then things start to get excessively violent.
It's not so much the violence, it's that a character well-loved meets an unfortunate and brutal death, all the while having his fate turned in less than a minute.
We've seen many others in the show get worse deaths (I mean, c'mon; in the same episode a guy gets skinned and gouged, but we didn't know him well so we didn't care much), but it's when a major character gets the bucket that we cringe.
One thing that shocked me in State of Decay is what happends if the zombies manage to kill a human: The special zombies just rips them in two and the regular zombies gang up on them while on the ground and drags them apart.
To be fair, pretty much everyone has a reason to fuck up the Lannisters because they are a bunch of baby back bitches who illegally occupy the throne and treat everyone like ass. I really hope they milk Tywin's death because I hate that fucker so goddamned much.
Eating meat at all is less biologically efficient than if everyone was a vegetarian, but that ain't gonna stop anyone.
I'm pretty okay with gore and shit, but the thought of eye damage has always been uncomfortable to me and the scene where snake losses his eye in MGS3 fucked me up for a bit when I was younger.
Also at one point while playing Bayonetta and fighting Fortitudo, I realized how fucking brutally you mutilate the bosses before killing them
>I really hope they milk Tywin's death because I hate that fucker so goddamned much.
I actually pity Tywin. I don't think he'd be half as much of an asshole if Aerys The Mad didn't intentionally fuck him over by naming his first son and heir to the King's Guard.
Tywin's had a lot of personal loss, and a lot of personal betrayals. Honestly Roose Bolton is more of an asshole than Tywin Lannister. Walder Frey beats them both out on the Asshole O'Meter
Not that guy, and don't know anything about game of thrones, but according to Google the mountain is 420 pounds of "nearly all muscle", not to mention I'm assuming the fight in question is nothing like a boxing match where you are only allowed to throw cushioned punches to the upper body. In other words, your analogy wildly dumb (as most analogies are).
>MUH ONLY SON
>Hey dad, I took this shitty job you gave me and worked really hard
>also I single handedly saved your entire city you know, because I wanted to help the family
>LEL GET FUKT DWARF FAGGIT
>IMPLYING I WOULD EVER EVEN PRETEND TO LOVE YOU
Yeah no, fuck him. I get it. His wife died, and his good looking son got taken from him as an heir. Personal loss doesn't excuse an entire life of being a cunt to everyone. At least Roose is a deliciously cartoon type of villain like in a poorly written Bioware game.
i would say most of jericho. especially those impaled people at the river of blood
plus the eternal prison in blood omen 2 where the prisoners had their eyes taken out and eyesockets and mouthes sewn shut
also postal 2 and i believe also quake 2 where they throw people in meatgrinders
Manhunt has some really disturbing kills.
I also felt really bad about using that girl as a doorstop in God of War 3, it seemed a bit over the top even for Kratos.
The best looking violence is in the God of War Series.
