ITT: Spooky shit in vidya
Creepypasta, spreenshots, stories, bad personal memories, whatever.
Oddworld still gives me nightmares up to this day, I can't even manage to play the games because of it
>that depressing as fuck atmosphere
>playing with a guy who's race is used to make beer from their fucking bones
>sawn in eyes and mouths
>that fucking bad ending
I can laugh my ass off on most horror stories, but that Oddworld-style atmosphere just ticks something in me. A good example for that is this video
When I first played LOZ:OOT It was as child link with my friend when I was about 7. I thought it was pretty awesome, so I decided to rent it from blockbuster. Of course the game had profiles on it already so I played it, started as adult link and came out of the temple of time, scared myself shitless in the town. Became child link after my friend tells me what to do, nightfall in hyrule field caused me to shit a brick when the stal-children came out of the ground. Hated the game, got it for a birthday a couple years later and enjoyed the shit out of it.
I played Robinson's Requiem once when I was young. After I died the first time, I never touched the game again.
It started out good, but then it went typical creepypasta with "BEAT DA EVUL WIT LOOOOOOVE", not to mention the writer is kind of a dick, making a really stupid "alternate" ending because no one told him how to end it properly. Though if I remember people still prefer the fake ending to the real one.
>Jerusable received dead threats for KING KONG
I know the pasta is fake since "today we're all brits" shit has already past but still good imo
>typical powers down blah blah turn it back on
>lights flashing everywhere
>I'm playing it with tired eyes, it's 4 am
>go into small power room and flick on power
>turn around and that girl rises up from the floor outside the window
>staring at me
>"I know who you are"
I just froze and my stomach dropped. I just stated until I quit the game.
>that fucking ladder
spookiest moment in the history of video games
Can traps and tripwires remained intact even though the people in side were long dead
I think we are not talking about the same Killswitch
The story goes that the adventure game had a fairly limited run in the late '80s, releasing between 5,000-10,000 copies, and had players choosing between two different characters: a wounded, shape-changing woman, or a powerful, invisible demon. The story followed an uprising of miners, weird ancient evils, and other super strange stuff. Oh, and the game has a tendency to erase itself. Completely. Details are scattered over what triggers this (completion or death), but either way, there are no playable copies left. And no one ever beat it as the demon.
Apparently, one sealed copy of the game was found in 2005 and sold for $733,000 to a Japanese man named Yamamoto Ryuichi. He intended to post gameplay footage of the game in order to finally bring it to the world, but only one clip has reportedly surfaced: a video of a ragged-looking Ryuichi sitting in front of his computer and crying. That footage, too, has since vanished...
The game deleted itself before he could get any meaningful footage.
Because he spent $733k on the last copy of the video game and has an obligation to beat it with the impossibly hard invisible character to get the full story but he just can't do it.
TLDR Ryuchi is a casual bitch who needs to git gud
I bet you thought ravenholm was scary too anon
The demo is far more scary, there's a fucking screamer at the start. Scared the shit out of me the first time I tried it out.
As for creepy shit, that would be the SMT anti-piracy warning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhfZVd9N9ww
It's kind of hard to read, but the red text when the anti-piracy sets in at the end says
TURN IT OFF. TURN IT OFF. TURN IT OFF. TURN IT OFF. TURN IT OFF.
>playing Outlast on PS4 because free
>went into game knowing barely anything
>wide open room where you have to find the stairs, then jump onto ladder
>batteries are dead
>just frustrated because I can't find the stairs
>hear rattling behind me
>big-ass Hulk charging at me
>scream like a little girl
The rest of the game was easy as hell and didn't even make me jump. But that one moment. I think it was because I had absolutely no idea he was there, and the wide open space made it even worse.
When I was a pussyfuck 15 year old and got my hands on Doom 3, I got to the point where the womans head popped off and I couldn't play anymore.
I proceeded to have a nightmare about Satan taking over the world, and my dumbass christian self thought the game was connected to Satan and I shouldn't play it anymore.
If I met my past self and listened to him I'd probably punch him in the face, very hard.
I see you like to go upstream, this is something I have never seen someone do, please teach me your ways.
>Sitting at home late at night
>Going to sit down with some SMT
>Volume up on the TV
>Turn on my SNES
>Suddenly the console starts acting up
>Atlus logo shows many times in a row.
????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ?????
nah, its in the original
its at the start of the second or third mission or some shit
you walk down some scaffolding, and as you turn to mount and go down the ladder your camera turns around and almas feet are right in your fucking face
then when you dismount the ladder and turn around again, fettel spooks the fuck out of you for a double whammy
>right after you meet those 2 naked niggas
>walking down a hall
>can see one just standing in the distance at the end of the hall
>slowly start backing up
>all of a sudden a machete just fucking explodes through your back and out your stomach because the other one was right behind you
god fucking shit that game
Really fucking good. One of the best platformers I've played. It's more humorous than scary or creepy, but the atmosphere in Rapture Farms (the factory) is creepy and shows how horrible it is there. The escape at the beginning of the game in the stockades makes shivers go down your spine.
But as mentioned, it's sort of a creepy-comedy with really good platforming. Not sure how well the remake that now comes out manages to keep up with the dark feeling of the original, but it'll probably be good.
This together with the quack or whatever the fuck it is and the creepy music. I guess you can't really call it a screamer like what they make today, but back in the 90s being 8 years old trying this shit out for the first time without really expecting anything and that pops up? I fucking died right there.
Remember Sonic.EXE? Someone took the concept of that and ran it through alternative interpretation.
Now you've got a (partially complete) hack of Sonic 1 that, every 13 seconds or so, the world changes into the dark world. During this world, you MUST find a monitor to return. If you're in the dark world and you reach the goal post, you MUST go back and hit a monitor in order to be able to finish the stage.
And while you're in the dark world, collecting rings reduces the rings you have. Enemies are also invincible...
If you fail, though... He comes.
>That picture of the terrorist attack hidden in Mario Kart GP
>That picture of the bloody pentagram hidden in Mario Sunshine
>That picture of the pineal gland hidden in Mario 64
I'm really glad you only have to go through this hallway once.
What was that hidden creepy game that /vr/ came across recently?
>play MGS3 from HD collection as i've been wanting to play it for a long time
>make it all the way till the sorrow part
>thought it was funny seeing all this spoopy dead people i've killed acting like ghosts
>sorrow shoots some fucking spooky ball
>get hit by it
I FUCKING DID NOT EXPECT THAT AND I NEARLY PISSED MYSELF FUCK.
I browse /x/ the same I browse /v/, quick glance at the fridge to see if there's a good thread going on.
You're right though nope threads there would quickly devolve into whose story is more skinwalker than whose
My brother and I used to play ATV Offroad Fury a lot, just screwing around for hours in the huge desert maps, seeing what kind of buildings there were to explore, etc. There was one map with a half-constructed building in the middle of the wilderness. Every once in a while, we'd see a weird dark shadow flutter around behind a corner or up the stairs and we'd drive in circles trying to find out where it went. We started calling it 'the witch'.
It was probably just a shadow or texture glitch.
Other 2 are fake
Was there ever a reason behind this? It's legitimately creepy as fuck.
While I'm moderately hyped for the remake, I'm not sure I'll enjoy it as much as the original. First because it's a remake of something I already played. Second because I have a thing for PSX era pre-rendered environments. This and Final Fantasy 7 have some of my favorite environments on vidya.
Legends 1 knew exactly how to spook the shit out of you.
>Oh god at least I'm safe on the high platforms, they can't get me up here
And then the next room has this massive fucking wall of water and these strange fish like reaverbots in there... that then jump out and can instantly kill you if you're not prepared.
this is the source of half my nightmares
I agree, Anon. I agree.
At least it'll be a
funexperience to replay in newer graphics, but will it be better than the original? Most likely not.
>tfw /x/ used to be God Tier spooky in 2008
>tfw you could find all sorts of scary threads every day
>tfw now it's all succubus/tarot/skinwalker meme shit
>tfw now you'll maybe find one good thread per month if you're lucky
FUCK, MY HEADSET WAS AT MAX, AND THAT FUCKING FACE, JESUS CHRIST
Anybody have the article about Secret of Evermore, with the magazine screenshots of dialogue that weren't in the game and the focus on how incomplete/strange the game felt?
>tfw all the creative writers that used to make 4chan good have left long ago
For some reason, the skyboxes in Mario 64 make me nervous.
>Devs that put out of place creepy stuff in unseen corners of a game
>Creepy Easter eggs
>Enemies/out of place stuff hidden out of bounds
>Anti-pirate spooky shit
Doing these & never commenting on them to the fans
I wish more devs were like this. Creepy shit in none creepy games are the best, it takes the player outside of their comfort zone. It also adds a new layer for fans to discuss
This has always been pretty unsettling to me
No, but there'd be publicity by game journalists all over the place and complaints from parents, especially if it was a Nintendo product.
Not to mention it would likely get a higher ESRB/Pegi score unless it was hidden like in the Pokemon games where it tells you to kill yourself if you've pirated it.
>have a fear of being followed
>play FEAR 2
>going around the pool
>hear glass break behind me
>tiny Alma slowly walking towards me
>she repeats this until the bomb drops
No. That's it. I'm done. Go fuck yourself you psychic brat.
>being chased by something
>turning around and it's right there in front of you
Literally the worse shit
i'm a newfag so would you mind explaining me what this shitstorm about donut man is about?
Some anon got his hands on it. You can ask /vr/. I remember seeing threads with the image files. Some one was doing a playthrough with translations too, but that was a while ago.
I remember hours spent getting up near the top of the wall around that one water level just to get a good look at that bottom left scene, and just staring at it in confusion as a kid. I only even recognize maybe two others, some of those are 2spoopy for what I remember
The image to the left (colloquially "The Donut Man" as it bears the resemblance even when viewed safely) is a reconstruction of Berriman and Turner's original "Logical Imaging Technique" image produced by Cambridge Computing Lab IV (now, obviously. defunct) at some point in 1983. This image. along with several others inadvertently produced most infamously 'Langford's Basilisk' and the imagery produced by a typographical error in Your Sinclair #23's Fun with Fractals" feature - generates patterns the Human Visual System cannot easily deal with. This so-called 'Godelian shock input' can, to put it crudely, crash the human brain. The image above does not usually produce any immediate effect (due to delayed neurochemical encoding of 'Godelian spoilers'). but is usually triggered several days later upon viewing any repetitive image that triggers the memory into recalling the original.
>invisible monsters that stalk you

>if you move to slow, their footsteps and/or breathing becomes louder due to the distance closing

I don't know if I was dreaming myself play LSD, or if I was actually playing it. Either way, that game is pretty disturbing.
>That fucking doll plushie that fucking follows you in the starting area.
>The endless hallway that either transports you to the black/white cube area or the wall opens up and you start falling.
>The giant fish flying in the sky
>The woman standing in the end of the street where, if you walk towards her, you will get locked in place while she turns around and walks towards you and her head falls off
>The city area with the dead bodies in the trash containers
>The fucking window in the desert area that transports you to the black/white cube area
>The girl that rarely appears in the black/white cube area, walking around aimlessly with the hula hoop
>The gray man who stalks you and makes the screen flash if he reaches you
>The rare bridge area where you walk into the sun's mouth, while it stares at you
I know I forgot a whole bunch
>tfw they left while we desperately try to hang on to what was
We're really here forever aren't we.
rainwoodworks blogspot c0m/2010/09/secret-of-evermore-was-one-of-my html
Here's the original blog that the picture was made from. It's longer than the pic and pretty interesting but it's all bullshit.
its a shitty meme about how IF YOU CLICK ON DONUT MAN THEN THE IMAGE WILL DOWNLOAD A VIRUS ONTO YOUR COMPUTER AND WILL ACTIVATE A SCREAMER RANDOMLY IN THE FUTURE
it doesnt even make sense
this fucking game also
>Play the Sims 3, haven't played it in a while
>Make a villain character
>Nefario Smith, profesional villain
>Rise my way up the ranks of the villain career branch
>Life wish is to become the Emperor of evil
>Marry a fat chick from my work
>Move into her huge ass house (need to live with some others, but whatever)
>Become a super villain
>Just one promotion away from becoming the Emperor of Evil
>I know I'm becoming old though
>I'm going to need an heir
>By this point in the game, I'm almost always happy
>Don't need to shit, hardly need to eat, attractive, buff, intelligent, have money, live in a good house, have a good wife.
>I have become the Emperor of Evil, which allowed me to gain all of these benefits through happy points (or whatever they're called)
>But the most important thing is that I've had my son
>My beautiful son Brutus
>I'm starting to age, I can feel it in my bones
>Invite all my villain friends to a party
>Every day, I work on becoming more intelligent so that I can do a better job at being the Emperor of Evil
>My wife and her 3 friends raise my son
>My son has two traits
>The first trait is artistic (inherited from my wife)
>The second is evil (inherited from me, I plan on having my son take over as Emperor of Evil when I die)
>Life is going pretty sweet
Now I need to go a little off story for a bit, and it probably sounds like I'm trying to bullshit you, but this part is important.
>Sims 3, years ago
>I make a cop character
>Meet a lady, start getting into her
>Learn almost all of her traits, except one
>After some time, I finally figure it out
>She's a klepto maniac
>I contemplate if a cop could ever love a thief
>Decide to give it a shot
>We start to make out on the bed
>And we keep going
>I start to see my sim's stats go down
>Command him to stop
>Command him to stop again
>He needs to go to the bathroom
It's been confirmed left and right that if the cartridge is in fact pirated, it will display this message at S.S Anne.
Google: Pokemon Fire Red Leaf Green anti-piracy.
>mfw i jumped off the ladder on my first playthrough so I never got spooked
>I tell him to go to the bathroom, but he won't stop making out with this woman
>The bathroom stat is in the red
>A piss puddle forms in front of the bed
>I keep telling him to stop
>He won't respond
>But he won't stop
>I notice something odd about the female sim
>Her animations have seemed to stop
>I zoom in to check this out
>Her eyes are all white
>Quit the game right then and there, play a new file about a fat chief, but get bored and quit.
Now back to the main story.
>My baby Brutus becomes a toddler
>I throw him a small party, invite a few old friends to come
>At this point in the game, you need to teach your toddler how to walk, speak, ect.
>Nefario hopes to see Brutus become a genius like him, the wife wants to teach him how to talk
>I decide to teach him how to talk
>I do it with both the mother and Nefario, but we don't finish teaching him do to needing to sleep
>While the baby is in the crib, it starts crying (hungry, I think)
>I send one of the 3 girls to take care of him
>She needs to eat and go to the bathroom, but I don't this will take too long
>She feeds my child
>Send her off on her way
>Brutus begins to throw a fit, shaking the crib and such
>Send the girl back to spend time with him
>Decide it might be good to have her continue teaching him how to talk
>Nefario and the wife wake up
>I see that Brutus has almost learned how to talk
>I don't want the girl to finish teaching him, I want to make sure that my wife teaches the kid so she gets those happy points
>Command the girl to stop teaching him how to talk
>I'm given a message that Brutus has learned how to talk
>The command to teach Brutus is crossed out, but it won't go away
>Baby Brutus continues to do the baby talk when learning how to speak
>The girl won't sit up
>I already feel like something's not right here
>The girl's phone is ringing
>Command her to answer it
>all these youtube links
God dammit, I just uninstalled the shit Google app because they fucked with the quality in the last update and now this happens.
Anybody know of a good alternative app for Youtube?
I don't care how bad it gets, I'm going down with this ship.
>Send Nefario to take Brutus away and put him in his crib
>He walks his way up, and by the time he gets up there the girl is still doing the teaching action
>Nefario stands by Brutus, but won't pick him up
>The girl's head just follows Nefario as he walks
>By now I'm pretty sure I know what's going on
>A message pops up saying that an opportunity for the girl has opened up
>No effect on her
>I have the strong feeling that whatever happened with my cop is now happening to this girl
>Stats are still reacting normally, going down
>I actually find the idea of the girl slowly starving to death to be kind of fitting, since she's living with an evil person
>But then the realization hits me like a brick
>My son Brutus will die too
>activate cheat codes
>resetSim [insert girls name]
>The command is gone
>My child is saved
The real horror was that I was telling this story to /v/ as it happened, during a dark and stormy night, and my power went out.
Isn't that just a photograph of Araki, the creator of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? The real secret there is that Araki hasn't aged a day, has possibly been getting younger, and is the spitting image of people from like 150 years ago.
>Music cuts out
Speaking of them, A tale.
>be playing OG RE4 when it first came out
>get to part with first Regenerator
>Not knowing of the spots you have to shoot
>unload everything I have into it
>run out of room and sprint down the hall
>there's another and I run into his chest
that feel of hair on the back your neck stand up? I never would have believed it was true if I didn't feel it myself that moment.
I love that game so much
Anybody have similar feels?
>The end is near. Make preparations.
>You have been chosen. They will come soon.
>They're coming soon. Maybe you should think twice about opening the door.
>The drop off has been made. You've been warned.
>and is the spitting image of people from like 150 years ago.
jesus christ you're right, he looks like a noh mask or a feudal woodcut
in fact he looks like the guy in that painting used to compare japanese art to rennaisance art
No, probably not, but I'll never forget the first time I entered Latria. Damn bellringing, couldn't see what was doing it until I got hit by it's magic and was stuck with prisoners on either side of me.
Far Cry 3 story
>The side missions in Far Cry 3 are pretty shitty
>Doing them anyway because why not
>In one of them, people are mysteriously disappearing whenever they jump into this underwater cave thing
>Asked to go into it and see what happened to them
>Told to return to the guy who gave the mission
>I know that they can't possibly have my just go in and get out, there has to be something
>Get all tense
>Slowly attempting to swim out of the cave
>Huh...I guess there's nothing-
>ALLIGATOR OUT OF NOWHERE
>STAB THE FUCKER TO DEATH
>HOLY SHIT AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
>Obvious implication being that the alligator was killing the people in the cave
I gotta admit, I got pretty startled.
The flashing light was just a test. You'll have plenty of warning next time.
So what's best: having spooky build up & letting the player's paranoia get to them, using jump scares to keep them on guard, using monsters to chase & panic them, or leaving it all to the atmosphere?
>tfw animate thumbnails on 4chan X
It still fucking got me
I would say the first, but I just finished that among the sleep game the other and was pretty disappointed that you only ever run into something that will chase you like once, and it was easy as hell. Games with paranoia have to have at least something to back that paranoia up or else the player will catch on eventually that nothing will happen.
I think making players paranoid is best, while jump scares are easy to scare people with, they are cheap and the fear only lasts a couple seconds. I think paranoia over a long period of time is better. I don't play many horror games though
>/v/ is playing pretend mind game again
I was more scared when fumbling through chase sequence than listening to droning ambient noise for hours.
Good examples including the Spiderman exploding building one. Any chase sequence from Crash Bandicoot or that one Scooby Doo game.
The suicide forest in Cry of Fear was perfect because you have to find needle in a haystack plus the manually opening door to your escape while being chased by one hit kill enemy
Spooky paranoia build up is shit like a noise in the next room or seeing a monster that hasn't seen you, atmosphere is a "natural" unease from the environment, not from an entity in game.
I'm opening it and there's nothing you can do to stop me.
In Black & White 2, they've recorded like say 300 voice clips of a scary whisper of someone's name that would match the name of the player, like Ben or Cody, and it would play at random intervals if you're playing at night.
>mfw hearing my name when I dozed off waiting for my city to build
>open up le donut man one time
>find out about it in the same thread
>think it's bullshit, but a part of me believes it
>run malware bytes just to be certain
>threats detected: 1
And I'll never open it again.
Fucking this. The spooky and alien stuff added so much character to the games. The Sims had great art direction and humor. It was so quirky and weird. Also it had great music.
Man, Will Wright should make a new Sims game. Sims 3 was an abomination.
Something similar, but less creepy happens in Mother 3. In the beginning of a game, there's a minor instance where you have to input your real name. At the very end, the protagonists congratulate you by name for helping them on their journey.
>mfw I thought he was originally talking about Pokemon
>original deus ex
>you input your real name at the beginning and forget about it immediately
>referred to as JC throughout the game
>digging through people's emails
>they're talking about you before you transferred to UNATCO
>refer to you by your name
idk if it was even supposed to, but that spooped me out. had genuinely forgot I had input a name after being called JC and Denton so often.
So spooky. Not that I didn't love RE4, but this version is just so unsettling and cool-looking. Except for the fixed camera and ugh shooting mechanics.
Oh fuck, I'm crying.
Holy shit. The nightmare sequences in Max Payne were already fucking spooky enough.
oh fck this colossus i realy2 hate it
damn those fckin eyes
That really does ruin the experience over there. I don't really believe on ghosts, but I love suspending my disbelieve for a bit and hearing crazy ass stories, and then you get some assholes in who wholeheartedly believe everything and take it real seriously, and it's a complete buzzkill.
It's quite a read, but here's a pasta about one that I thought was pretty goddamned creepy.
They're basically a shapeshifting demon type of thing.
The honest reason he's crying is because of the weight of the choice.
Either select the beatable route, beat the game and maybe learn something new in the process - but at least beat it.
Or select the route he likely has no chance of winning, waste his opportunity to perhaps discover something via the beatable route - all for sake of maybe discovering the truth.
It's not a spooky story, just an interesting one. The story isn't intended to be scary, people just interpret it that way because they don't understand the crying part
>Hidden western damn that's fully textured but you go no where near it
>OoB structures in the N-East
>The arenas in debug with no activity
Looking out while climbing #16
SotC was spoopy
>the sims 1 music
That game had a god tier ost. All the happy nostalgia i get when i hear most of the sims 1 music make me feel like a happy old man remembering happy stuff from his past.
What the shit.
Jesus christ those loading screens scared the fuck outta me. I remember my friend having this game when it came out and he'd call me a bitch cause I'd have to leave the room when he started playing it.
>All the diary entries with the unsettling music, backgrounds and text
>Get super interested
>It's creepypasta meme faggotry
>However, the manual hints at a possible backstory (the Postal Dude believes the town's population has been infected by a madness plague), and in-between levels, players are given a chance to delve into the Postal Dude's psychosis with ominous diary entries containing phrases like "The earth is hungry. It's heart throbs and demands cleansing. The earth is also thirsty...". The game ends with the Postal Dude attempting to massacre an elementary school, but failing due to having a mental breakdown and ending up getting captured by the government and incarcerated in an asylum.
Jesus fucking christ.
I was joking, friend. It's pretty obvious.
Holy shit. Postal 1 & 2 might as well be different series with such a harsh tone shift
That's fucking dark.
Kinda reminds me of the Columbine RPG.
Is this kind of stuff being made anymore? It seems like all the shootings and post-9/11 paranoia have scared everyone away from making really fucked up edgelord games. I miss them.
What would the explanation for all that shit be though? RE had zombies and mutant creatures created by viruses, not ghosts. That kind of atmosphere, while spooky, would have been totally out of place in RE.
>Enemies that are screaming/apologizing/asking for help while they're charging towards you or attacking you
>Enemies with unnatural walking patterns
>Enemies with unpredictable movement who mostly stand in place and are looking at you
>Little sister is hiding and trembling uncontrollably in my room at 2 AM because she thinks she's suddenly going to hear S.T.A.R.S. and Nemesis will burst into her room
>Super strong creepy as fuck enemy that will wreck your shit in 2 seconds
>It won't attack you unless you attack it
>Just watches you
>In order to advance you have to attack it
What games do this??
There was that one Sandy Hook flash game that came out after that happened that caused a shitload of controversy.
It says it in the video description. It was most likely hallucinations brought on by being infected by the progenitor virus.
>????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ?????

>Number nine, number nine, number nine.
>Incredibly bizarre looking creatures in a hostile environment that look like enemies
>They never attack you
I really liked it. It was interesting attempt to humanize the shooters and dig into what they may have been thinking without being outright sympathetic.
I played that, it was a little too shallow and seemed kinda rushed. I think one of the guys at /vg/ actually made it
>No music is playing
>Enemies lack sound effects entirely or only play certain ones
>Nightmare tier: Their animations are glitched and they're just in a frozen animation floating towards you
Google translate isn't especially good at translating it. Sugu ni kese which that translates into is basically "Turn it off now!".
If it was "As soon as indelible as soon as Lucchese immidately soon soon soon" then there would probably be Japanese people sitting day and night to find what it might mean and why it was inserted.
when I started playing the game I noticed how "on rails" the ladder climbing was so I thought to myself "gee in such a game this a perfect opertunity to put something scary right infront of your face".
I am pretty proud of myself
>173 glitching through walls/doors and killing me.
>Also a startling as fuck music cue.
that shit was fucked up yo, and I never got a proper explanation, not sure if one exists.
>see that shit for the first time
>quickly beat the little fucker off his head to save him
>his head is completely fucked and he keeps attacking me anyway
I played this with a friend while high, worst decision ever. It didn't help that he kept falling off the trail over and over so the scream turned into this endless soul searing nightmare.
Easily the main reason why I don't play Max Payne 1.
oh boy, sure it was fun to play all night breaking my high scores with the richard mask after all
I can't believe nobody's mentioned Garage: A bad dream adventure. It was actually completely lost until someone bought it not too long ago and uploaded a rip. I actually have it downloaded, but it's all in Japanese so I can't play it worth fuck.
Somebody pls respond.
I originally saw this story on Twitter, so maybe it was modified to be sp00kier for le general audiences, but I could have sworn it ended with him unplugging his computer and the demon character from the game still on the screen.
Damn shame too, there were some neat urban exploration threads and creative writing projects. 'The Holders' and SCP stuff finally killed it. Nowadays it's all just
>I am a satanic alien wizard ghost from the future ask me anything
>Guys I just saw something at my window, here's a picture I totally didn't just grab off google
>Hey dump some spooky stuff
I'd assume so, it's sort of an edge of the world scenario I guess, but what I question is this: wasn't the sacred lands entirely walled off in some way? Unless that drop off is the end of the continent & therefore a "wall" then there's a lot of valley land there
When i was a kid i had the demo of Medievil and the game scared the shit out of me, with the zombies and the skeleton player, i never played it, it just saw the minivideo on the side of the menu screen where you choose the demo and now i am really scared of skeletons
Here's one of my personal scares.
>In a hallway, or maybe a room that's all quiet and shit
>Run to the end of the hallway or the back of the room, pick up a key item needed to progress
>Suddenly monster appears nearby from where I was
>Run back to the exit, but the door is blocked by some mystic shit, can't leave till I kill the monster
And that'd be about when I'd shut off the game and never touch it again. Jesus, it seems like there's more games that have horror moments in them, but aren't of the horror genre...
man, I remember playing the first one and loving it, but I had to return the rental before I beat it, and something else came out so I forgot about it. Would it be worth getting them off PSN?
Those where good times
I know /v/ abuses of it, which really bothers me because i really hate skeletons
I don't get scared with skeleton pics or that kind of stuff, just mummified like skeletons or skeletons used for teaching
