What music do you listen while playing videogames /v/?
j-core/hardcore and metal on rare occasions
But only if it's either a multiplayer game, a game who's music I'm sick of, or one of them sandbox/grindan games (M&B for example)
Depends on a game. I see no sense in playing online with ingame music.
And yes, I have no taste.
I only listen to it if it's something like TF2 and there's literally no soundtrack aside from the menu music. I don't listen to outside music unless it's a multiplayer game and I just want to chill.
This. The only acceptable time to listen to other music is when you're playing a multiplayer game and have already heard ALL of the tracks. I'll put on something like say when I'm playing monster hunter, but that's about the limit of that.
which kind of dnb? artist?
Anybody got some good 90es Drum and bass they want to share?
sorta like this
Whatever comes up
Here's a few of my personal favorites
what I was just listening too, call me a faggot if you want
>music threads on /v/
best thing ever. here is some a perfect circle
I'll listen to whatever but lately I've been checking out some Japanese prog rock bands to see if they have anything nice. Unkie was a pretty nice surprise didn't know what to expect.
Holy shit, that's fucking good. Gonna grab some more.
> ???????? ???? ?????
?????? ????? ?????? ? ???????? ??? ??????, ?? ?? ?????? ?? ??????????? ?????, ? ?? ?????? ?????.
I thought this was an +18 website?
The only reason I sometimes want to listen to music while playing videogames is that it creates this great associative memory with the music. Fatboy Slim reminds me of all the fun I had playing Pokemon Pearl because I used to listen to it all the time when I rode the bus. Now every time I listen to Fatboy Slim I get this really pleasant wave of nostalgia.
I usually don't, though. Because I care more about immersion nowadays.
> m-muh fridge noises
> m-muh mature rap
> m-muh indieshit
Underage b& pl0x
For when boozing with friends.
For solo adventures
Care to post some? I usually search for MP3s after a day of vidya when I'm listening to
DI's Epic Trance channel. I think Falcon is one of my favorite producers at the moment.
> there are people who don't listen to Fatboy Slim's big beat while kickin' ass in vidya
Mostly the Final Fantasy Piano Collections and some Orchestrated OST from some movies and games.
Not sure if this is what you're looking or but I felt like Unkie's album Devil's Ride was pretty rad. I liked the album Vital World as well.
The album View of Spiral Riverside by Demetori is pretty cool for prog rock Touhou stuff best versions of those songs I've heard in a while. Pochakaite Malko is pretty neat but I think it's more avant-prog then straight up Prog rock I reall like them though. Their first few albums weren't that great because it was just one guy with a keyboard, a drummer and a bassist. Once they added the violinist to the band I felt like it really came together. Other then that I'm not sure I'm still looking myself.
Been listening to a lot of Tom Waits recently.
Bone Machine works pretty well with New Vegas.
Only the best
this is all i've got that's similar-ish-esque
problem is it's all jungle-like but without any of them UH WHIGGIDUP BIGGIDUP BRING IT UP UH UH UH WE ROCKIN DA JUNGLE VIBE BRINGIN THE SEXY TIME SHOWING HOW WE FLY BRRRRRRRRUH vocals and all
>music in multiplayer games
>Games you've played several thousand times.
I seem to think there are several reasons to listen to anything else while playing.
In any case
> all these buttflustered teenagers who spew DADROCK and IMMATURE left and right
Why the fuck are you so insecure? Just isten to what the fuck you want.
I listen to some patriotic military-pop shit from my country and I have no regrets. They are good.
i listen to some Manowar song when i'm gonna fight a hard boss.
This is my favorite battle theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2TWhA1UFcI
do you love the egyptian/arabic/whatfuckingever you get my point-vibe from that hallucinogen song?
if so, check out goalien
also check out this album called goatronika
and if you REALLY dig that stuff then try to find and download Phototropic Record's entire discography
Are Huey Lewis and the News considered to be Dadrock? Can we get a tier list of their songs?
say what you want about about the show, but this soundtrack is fantastic
This is actually preddy gud. Thanks anon.
Well, there's also games with no music, which is why i mentioned multiplayer games.
You're welcome friendo. Someone on /v/ gave me the link to the youtube, i'm just passing it on
i only listen to music while playing a game if the game is multiplayer and doesnt have voice chat or is something like minecraft. minecraft is a pretty good game if you wanna listen to a podcast or a new album or something because its pretty mindless and relaxing. i just finished this cd i bought while playing minecraft and it ended up being really nice.
But I listen to the ingame music unless it's something like Mountian Blade or a multiplayer game.
If that's the case then I listen to my Japanese music
I listen to the actual game, like any non retarded person would.
> Japanese music
dude i love japanese music
Anything on this. I only have music on when I play FTL or other games like that, though.
Are you fucking with me or is that what you actually listen to?
its okay as long as you don't disagree with the fact that animals is their only 10/10 album
what old, pretentious men playing guitars and organs and sometimes a saxophone do you usually listen to?
Never mind, posted right at the top of the thread. . . .
>Well, there's also games with no music, which is why i mentioned multiplayer games.
The only game with no music I play is Hentaiverse, and I tend to listen to whatever I heard last in a game.
So, in this case it would be
thats some ice cream truck shit
thats pretty gud tactic when you're listening to shit like that. Love that track from mgs3, but it always brings up bad memories because i always have trouble with the fury
I like Van Morrison. Nice and light and happy. I'm very fragile, emotionally.
Gong are pretty good.
As are Egg.
ELP get shit on a lot, but I think that they've written a few good songs.
And even though they aren't from Tealand, The Mars Volta and Mastodon are pretty good in terms of new prog.
Listen to this while playing Borderlands. . .or any shooter really.
>mfw people who just listen to metal exclusively
Grow up kids.
Playing Dark Souls to this.
I usually only listen to non-ingame music while playing mmos or stuff like l4d2, payday2, etc.
pic related, its my shitty music taste.
If anyone can rec some vidya music to pad my folder with, since the total amount of 2hu songs takes up HALF THE GODDAMN FOLDER that would be cool
>Not listening to Dad rock
what can I say, I'm an ambience guy.
forgive me /v/, i have all the Houston groups in my music since i've lived here all my life
what kind of massive faggot do you have to be to call eno's work "creepy ambient music"
What is this genre of music called? I cannot get a clear answer? I've been listening to this guy's stuff as of late and even though I my exposure has been limited, it's grown on me.
And no, I'm not touching /mu/ with a 10 foot pole
The only good fucking dadrock.
Main music folder is under construction. I pulled everything from my floors network drive and there's a lot of shit in it.
>all these muscles not being flexed
JUST CAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON DON'T MEAN IT DON'T MAKE NO SENSE, AND JUST CAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T MEAN IT AIN'T NO GOOD! AND LET ME TELL YA SOMETHING: BEFORE YOU GO TAKING A WALK IN MY WORLD, YOU BETTER TAKE A LOOK AT THE REAL WORLD, CAUSE THIS AIN'T NO MR. ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD! CAN YOU SAY I FEEL LIKE SHIT? YEAH, MAYBE SOMETIMES I DO FEEL LIKE SHIT. I AIN'T HAPPY ABOUT IT BUT I'D RATHER FEEL LIKE SHIT THAN BE FULL OF SHIT. AND IF I OFFENDED YOU, OH I'M SORRY BUT MAYBE YOU NEED TO BE OFFENDED, SO HERE'S MY APOLOGY AND ONE MORE THING: FUCK YOU!
It depends: most of the time i'll have the game music, but if the soundtrack is bad and/or annoying I'll just put some Led Zeppelin.
Also if i really need to concentrate for a speedrun or something, I like to listen to songs I haven't heard in years, dunno why.
/mu/ here, someone new linked here but i just wanted to commend you all for having music discussion, which almost never happens
this is what I listen to btw:
Ma nigga. I don't even play anymore, but the music is godlike.
>Not listening to Bye Bye when playing DMC3
I want to fuck Jon Hallur.
I only play online multiplayer games so usually just my 80s playlist on SoundCloud
Fuck off back to your hugbox of niggersounds
pretty good for when I'm hunting a rare item in an RPG for hours
“Hipster” is a term co-opted for use as a meaningless pejorative in order to vaguely call someone else’s authenticity into question and, by extension, claim authenticity for yourself.
It serves no conversational function and imparts no information, save for indicating the opinions and preferences of the speaker.
Meanwhile, a market myth has sprung up around the term, as well as a cultural bogeyman consisting of elusive white 20-somethings who wear certain clothes (but no one will agree on what), listen to certain music (no one can agree on this either), and act a certain way (you’ve probably sensed the pattern on your own).
You can’t define what “that kind of behavior or fashion or lifestyle” actually is, nor will you ever be able to. That’s because you don’t use “hipster” to describe an actual group of people, but to describe a fictional stereotype that is an outlet for literally anything that annoys you.
The twist, of course, is that if it weren’t for your own insecurities, nothing that a “hipster” could do or wear would ever affect you emotionally. But you are insecure about your own authenticity - “Do I wear what I wear because I want to? Do I listen to my music because I truly like it? I’m certainly not like those filthy hipsters!” - so you project those feelings.
Suffice it to say, no one self-identifies as a hipster; the term is always applied to an Other, to separate the authentic Us from the inauthentic, “ironic” Them
Already posted in the thread.
I listen to Billy Talent's Red flag on a loop 24/7
My current jams
listening to future sound of london lately
I have a lot of shit in my library
>this is the guy singing in "Nuclear"
>mfw im gay now
Depending on the mood of the game it changes. Hotline miami soundtrack is great for other games sometimes. I like dueling to either this
or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6nHMkBQgJY&list=PL71214C9590D79C78
when I fight in the Dark souls 2 arena
Does anyone else like making appropriate soundtracks when playing games? In games where you can switch soundtracks fairly easy. I do it a lot playing GTA Online.
Whilst the Independence Day update was live I spent hours hunting down redcoats and doing jobs dressed in an eagle mask and Minuteman outfit, listening to this on repeat:
Or driving around in a bus running over players to the Speed OST, things like that.
I always listen to thematic music befitting of the game I'm playing.
It's hard to find music to play when playing samurai games because there aren't any playlists/hour-long mixes of japanessu war drums and YOOOOOOO crap.
Dat original guitar and bass sound.
When I'm playing strategy games?
The only sound track that matters.
Shit tier, even for metal, which is pretty shit.
I don't listen to music during playing that often, I normally watch TV. But if I do I listen to vocaloids or jpop/jrock and shit like that. I've been listening to ??????; ????? a bunch lately. If anyone knows of similar shit please let me know.
