New blog is up (with a new video)
Q) Are there day and night cycles?
A) There is no day/night cycle in ToS.
Q) I heard you can jump on objects. Is it possible to find new stuff or do random things with it? I'd like to find a hidden dungeon or items.
A) There are some things located where it can not be seen normally.
Q) Is there a marriage system?
A) No, but if it's on high demand we might add it later.
Q) What really is the 'costume'? Is it kind of a uniform? A collection? Just an option?
A) In ToS, 'costume' is for your character's appearance and it's independent from 'armors' that have defensive stats. It won't influence any of your characters stats. The costume of each class can be obtained from each class master NPCs once you unlock the class.
Q) I've seen the time-reversing ability by a Chronomancer... Would it revive a dead ally? What about the items I've obtained earlier? How about the dead monsters?
A) First of all, it is on long cooldown so it can not be used that often. However, it will revive enemies and allies. Items will be kept. Think of a character in a SF movie doing the time-travel but still having objects in his pocket.
Thaumaturge, is a class that controls elements.
You may convert an enemy's trap to yours, or grow or shrink the size of the enemy. Some classes have abilities that depend on the size of the target object so it will influence the situation in combat. You can also grow a part of the body, so if you grow the hand/arm that's holding a weapon, it will give bonus to attack; The hand/arm with a shield, defense.
Archer, is a basic class for ranged combat classes.
The damage depends on the distance to the target. You may also switch stance to increase range, but you won't be able to move. Monsters attacked by strong/heavy arrow attacks sometimes get 'threaded' together. You can attack them like treating one target. It is a class that can attack while moving so it has upperhand in dealing boss monsters.
Pyromancer, is a class that uses fire.
Fire attacks do a lot of damage over time so it's favorable when fighting against a lot of enemies. You can use move keys while channeling 'Fire wall' to draw the shape of it. Fireball can be placed and moved by melee attacks so it can be used for several functions in party play.
Centurion, is a class that can lead other characters.
Players who joined the 'formation' will yield the control of their characters to the centurion. Each formation has its own unique passive. For example, 'Winged Formation' that's used to surround the enemy is efficient against boss monsters. 'Phalanx Formation' will transfer 'blocking stats' from rear side characters to the frontline so it is efficient in attacking a lot of enemies.
Don't you have a wow nostalgia thread to shitpost in?
Still wondering how centurions will work, the whole autowalk thing seems weird.
>That baseball fireball.
I don't want to get hyped, but so far it really seems to be ragnarok online 2, at least on class design.
Just hoping everything interesting doesn't have xbox huge cooldowns
It sure does look like they're going with ROs style were all the classes are unique.
Makes it even tougher to choose what class you want to play as
Also. The warrior class that can fight while moving + while being mounted was great in the last video
>these "dead inside" eyes
will i be able to make a souless crossdressing trap maiden?
Original RO was like that before Valkyrie, so I guess it's just a minor disappointment because I -wanted- it to be free, but I'll pay the monthly fee if there is one instead of flocking to a private server.
>these interesting classes
Taking into account you can change between classes, I bet some will be balanced for solo, other for group content, other for pvp, etc.
For example a cleric would go bokor to solo shit, monk for pvp, and priest/sadhu for parties.
All classes had their uses in RO since they were all unique.
But sure some of the classes will be the type of class that you can always have more of in your party while some classes will just be there for the one unique buff or similar they give.
>Can't aim with mouse
Just think for a second how retarded that is for a skill based game, worse yet you actually aim skills with the movement keys, and so far there isn't a focused healing skill, only healing traps. So it should also be clear anyone who thinks this will actually be the spiritual successor to Ragnarok is wrong, the developers are the same ones that created Granado Espada and they use a system where each class has it's own stat systems, so for your own good, don't fool yourself.
So far I'm extremely disappointed, it's like they had a good idea and simply decided to shit on it.
Nope, it simply allows you to use the mouse for UI stuff like inventory and putting up points, it has come to a situation where some of the developers are actually thinking about implementing a support for gamepads.
In other words, they have no idea what they are doing.
No they are not, they're consumer goods. There's a difference. MMOs are just systems to keep the player occupied while the game company continually makes money from them. They're like gambling machines with a more complex algorithim.
>that ranged gameplay
>that slowpaced combat
>that awful targeting system
This shit is atrocious, who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
Here I found the quote
>When you move or control your character, only keyboard is used, but when you click on UIs, you can use mouse. We had a version of the game which you can move your character using mouse, but it was rather hard to play the game using mouse so we gave up on using mouse. Nothing happens even if you click on the ground.
>fast paced is too hard
Can someone explain to me what the fuck is this bullshit?
>formation allow you to yield control of your character and allowing the centurion to control it
>sadhu spirits away
>still no negromancer with army of cutesy skeletons
obviously, the first button if for the normal attack the second one varies depending on what you equip, the problem is that for aiming, targeting and and even combos a mouse if much more useful that that retarded thing they came up with, specially for AoE spells.
It's clear that on all those situations I mentioned aiming trough the mouse would be more intuitive, but there's more, using a shield would also be easier making it possible for them to increase the animation speed of monsters and making the skill ceiling of the game higher. Spiral Knights made this perfectly, but apparently those developers are too retarded to grasp that concept.
>slower is less skill
The game is focusing on combining class abilities together. We also have no idea how fast things will get later on. Look at RO shit's all slow as molasses to start
Anons, will you support the Queen in her quest to find the Goddess and the great Tree of Savior
so that she can claim the power of the Goddess for herself and become our eternal Queen?
Or will you join with the filthy republicans who want to destroy our great nation and use the power of the Goddess and the Tree of Savior for their own illegitimate means?
The Magician -> Necromancer:
Summon a Skeleton and create a Golem through compiling bodies together.
The Priest -> Bokor:
Use the voodoo magic you learned from the old Gypsy in the swamps to raise a horde of the dead as your slaves.
If you didn't like Ragnarok online it ain't for you chief.
I'd appreciate it if you'd recognize this game is being made to appeal towards fans of ragnarok online.
It's the spirtual successor after all.
Ragnarok Online 2 was a joke, it was made to appeal to people like you.
>mfw centurion can use skeletons and zombies on formations
P2P, at least at first. Might by F2P if it crashes and burns. It's by the creator of RO and Granado Espada, and he has stated, multiple times, that he never creates a game and hopes for it to become Free to Play.
I think a properly done day/night cycle adds a lot to a game.
Having different spawns at night, certain dungeons that only open under the light of a full moon, dealing with darkness; these are some of the things that can make a game much more varied while still preserving a certain amount of status quo.
Of course, if it is shit like World of Warcraft's day night cycle then you're better off not wasting resources and leaving things at a light level dependent on thearea.
