So /v/ whose your vehicle-fu?
I love the helicopter controls in Bad Company 2, I don't know why they had to shit on them in Battlefield 3.
People can shit on Halo's ground combat, thats fine, its a slow as fuck console arena shooter.
But dat Warthog man, dat bouncy suspension, dat ability to take an explotion, flip 3x in the air, land and keep going. I fucking love it.
Its fine tuned to cause as much silly stupid bullshit as possible, have your friends giggling like retards, and get you from a to b.
In all Bf games my main vehicles were tanks.
my personal fav was this guy
you can change the controls so its like Bad company 2.
thats what i did
How to win infected gametypes:
>get in warthog
>repeat until all are splattered
Really? Was that a PC thing only or what? I played BF3 mainly on console.
I remember seeing this for BC and was hype as fuck we were going to get that missle launcher in mp and we didn't same for the blackhawk
I'm not sure if I have an overall fav but
BF:MC2 the bradly because it had that fucking gta missle rekting Hinds all day
BC: Apache nearly
BC2: same but with the lack of small arms being able to effect it you were nearly unstopable and it had rockets which made it better than the HIND-D ( 2x blackhawks with reps on islas was OP though yeah you remember that shit )
BC2:Vietnam Huey for anyone that played it obvious radio reasons and references to a certain movie about jarheads
BF3: Pre-nerf Mi-28 w/ xtra armor even if it was slow, patch glitched mi-28 with AC-130s 40mm
BF4: any attack jet 30mm is beastly now
ACE COMBAT: Su-37 armor AND maneuverability
ArmA: love the mini sub for some reason even though it doesn't blow shit up or does anything really but transport it's simple and fun I guess
Destiny: the pike I like that "dash" thing you can do with it to dodge incoming fire (sparrow honorable mention for obvious speeder bike ripoff DAT SOUND)
this little guy
I love taxiing teammates deep in enemy territory and providing close air support.
He's talking about the circle straffing probably Helis in BF3/4 don't allow it as easily as that did in BC you can still do it but it's much slower and if you pivot too much you crash
Tanks in general
Yeah that's what I was talking about, I loved doing the circle strafing mainly in the Black Hawk since you can let teammates spawn and have the gunners wreck shit while you dodge all the missiles by ascending and descending repeatedly.
>I love being a cheap piece of shit with two reps and being almost invincible and beating out attack choppers and jets (that i'm suppose to lose to btw) and infi with ease
there will never be another star wars game where you can fly this ;_;
Yeah I got used to it over time I just liked the simplicity of Bad Company 2 in all. I still remember the first time I played BF3.
>spawn at RU base
>get in heli
>wait for gunner
>gunner gets in
>immediately flip over
>kills both of us
>"never fly again, kid"
You should play Desert Combat.
That has the best helicopter physics of all BF related games.
BC2 was retarded, to console(babby) friendly, and you have to be a fucking retard to crash them.
BC2 was also where it was the most frustrating to fly due to helis never getting higher than a kite before the invisible rope held them down.
BC2 is almost as bad as BF Vietnam when it comes to flying.
Desert Combat is fully manual, let go of the throttle, you fall. Tilt to the left, you crash unless you manage to tilt it back because it's not gonna do it for you kid.
>teammates are battling rebel
>I show up in this
i miss star wars games
dropships make my dick hard.
always loved the pelican from CE
was pretty pissed that in none of the halo games you could fly them without the use of easter eggs or glitches.
you think bungie would have made a fucking level around the use of one.
This beautiful fucking machine beast right here. Just you try it, spandex.
Second place would be shared by the Blackhawk in almost any game and the Pelican (Bungie's version) from Halo.
Mah nigga. Dropships are best ships.
Yeah, but it was that hideous one with a fucking spartan laser taped to the side and didn't even have full flight controls like a real Pelican.
was flying in it today
Blackhawk down made me obsessed with everything you just mentioned. I wouldn't even mind being shot down in games because I'd get to have a dramatic last stand against overwhelming odds.
ArmA and Battlefield have always been good for those kind of moments.
always wanted to get into arma but im pretty intimidated.
I played the beta and the controls were pretty overwhelming.
if arma 3 worth getting or should i jsut play arma 2?
this fucker in ace combat
always get a raging stonk on when I see it in any other game, like World in Conflict.
Always feels good to fly a German fighter.
Yeah, but they knew the Fw-190 is my 2nd runner up German planefu so I had to have it. Comes out this Friday if all goes well.
P-40 is up there in my American planefu list. Devs haven't flat out said "no" to including lend-lease planes in the future so maybe we'll see it in the future.
Fw-190s are great
tfw games always use the shitty Abrams and not this beauty
My nigga that planes only second to the F15 MTD. Seriously though how can one plane be so based? Sexy fuselage, dat top speed, can fuck air and ground targets with ease. Shits perfect in all regards.
And I guess once it comes out there will never be a way to get it again. When will IL-2 be fun again, with mission editor, mods, and silly shit resulting from combinations of both, like the Air Pirates campaign?
It's 54 bucks right now if the La-5 also means nothing to you.
I think they're selling the Fw-190 and La-5 separately for the standard copy.
>I think they're selling the Fw-190 and La-5 separately for the standard copy.
I guess using the Rise of Flight engine also means going in full kike mode like the RoF devs. That said I really have to give that a try.
>Google destroyed challenger 2
>1 or 2 results, mostly mistaken m1 husks
>Google destroyed m1a2
>entire page covered with shit like this
It's ok anon. Not every tank can be a master crafted work of art with its own tea-making facilities to boot.
>not the T-64
Vehicle-fu sounds retarded OP, just like you
Pic related is my
Amour'd Personnel Carrier :3
>Abrams hit by rpg from the side
>crew cooks alive crying for the great lord of burgers to save them
>challenger hit by 8 RPGs and a Milan
>crew annihilates raghead scum, drives away, switches the boiling unit on and has a nice cup of tea
BC2 helicopter was effectively made of tissue paper though.
Also BC2 a shit.
Also mechs are my vehifu.
>best medium tank of the war
I'm sorry anon but it looks like you posted the wrong picture
Don't forget the drug.
I guess it reminds them of their childhood
The RAH-66 Commanche. Pity there were only a few games that featured it.
The controls in 3 were more precise and better laid out. My only complaint was the shitty free look controls, but that's ok.
>When they first rolled out the crew was so under trained they didn't knew how to use the radios, so they waved flags around to communicate with each other
And that's how Russia won the war by putting farmers inside tanks made out of surplus
>"One Challenger 2 operating near Basra survived being hit by 70 RPGs in another incident."
are you still crying about this?
there's a documentary about tanks the BBC did. they show WW2 footage of a Sherman being hit, catching fire, and one guy gets out, on fire and missing his lower leg. the other four guys died.
meanwhile a panzer iv was shown being hit. it stopped, and a fire started on the rear deck. five men got out of the tank and ran away. it's later confirmed they survived and got back to their lines
>I want also to add that the Sherman's armor was tough. There were cases on our T-34 when a round struck and did not penetrate. But the crew was wounded because pieces of armor flew off the inside wall and struck the crewmen in the hands and eyes. This never happened on the Sherman.
lel, the T-34-85 was a ghetto piece of shit that was only successful because it was available in large quantities
You are on the battlefield and this guy slaps your gf's ass.
What do you do?
>the crew probably laughed it off while bantering over a cup of tea
>it has it's own fucking tea making facility
H-how can a mere mechanical object be so classy yet so utterly manly, guys?
I always like using the BMP in games.
slavshit almost always serves me right, whether it be vehicles or guns.
Lol good. one
>the thing about the panzer 4 is, its weak point is its rear armor. Shermans had speed so we had to get round him and put one in his rear. By the time one of them did that, the panzer had knocked out 5 or 6 Shermans"
Source: US army mechanic who worked on Shermans throughout the war
Forever my vehiclefu. Close second is the T-72.
In the Sherman tank operator's manual, it specifically said that if the operator encountered a Panzer IV the operator was to retreat. It also says that if the operator encountered a Tiger, under no circumstances were they to engage unless the odds were better than 5:1
>implying this wasn't best tank that saw combat in WW2
It's a literal behemoth
My opinion is an objective fact,
all other opinions are wrong
Makes your arse pucker
>not flying your vehiclefu with your bro
I miss you bro :(
Bitches don't know about my Challenger 2's
That's one ugly mother
Literally the best fucking machine in the whole galaxy.
>Implying the same thing happens every time a tank gets hit
>implying the panzer IV doesnt have an extremely vulnerable ammo rack behind the driver
The sherman does too, however that was partially fixed with introduction of wet stowage
>implying the panzer iv didnt catch fire just as much as the sherman due to having the transmission in the front
Thats the panther you retard, also >implying belton cooper wasnt full of shit
Great tank tovarisch ))))
My tankfu, leave it to the Brits to improve upon our tanks and make them equal to the enemy's thanks to that glorious 17lber they put in.
You call that a gun?
Oh I do mean these glorious hovering arsenals of democracy.
No dumbass the reason is they are cheaper and went into development before stoner got his system mass produced
in the period of time though A TON of countries took up the M16/M4 platform and many have modeled their weapons from those platforms
quality > quantity
Russki helos are downright ugly, and they all look fat and bloated.
burden of proof is on you
btw I don't need the manual, the Panzer IV has pathetic frontal armor (80mm RHA unsloped) even the sherman with the short 75mm cannon could penetrate it frontaly from up to 500 meters
I have a fetish for fictional tanks
Even the Swedes have good taste in helos, too bad they will never use them in anger because they would surrender at the first sign of conflict.
i love my humveefu and her sisters too!
gets you around relatively fast and can pack a punch too
not to mention all the not shown models
>almost identical to the Tiger B
you still have shit taste though
there's a book called Panzer Commander by Col. Hans von Luck
He took part in the invasion of Poland and stated that as the POWs were marched past the rows of panzers, almost all of them knocked on the armour and looked shocked
The Poles had been told the panzers had to be made of cardboard because something made of that much iron couldn't possibly move
I know the exact video you are talking about and you are so fucking wrong. Nearly all of the panzer crew was killed in that incident by a Pershing that engaged them. The E2 and E8 models of the Sherman were pure rape machines. With the slope in mind their armor was almost as thick as a tiger's and their upgraded 76mm had better armor penetration than the 88 with the better American ammunition. Combine that with superior reliability, mobility, speed, communications, and ease of logistics and you have a clear winner... faggot
>playing janes f18
>have nobody to play with
>dad rushes in
>places chair behind mine
>"anon, I'm your copilot!"
>he puts sheet over our heads! it's like a mothafucking canopy
>play entire missions with him giving tips and writing down radio data
Superior parenting skills.
tfw Russians build this monstrosity for nothing but bragging rights
Fuck yes, about the only other military game I know of where you can ride bikes.
Too bad the AI in Arma 2 can't ride them, they just stay there.
>desert combat SCUD launchers
>bf1942 artillery in general
>muh poles were dumb myths
You probably believe the "cavalry against tanks" charge myth too don't you.
Holy shit, same. One day, in brand new packaging, he slaps USAF straight on the table.
"Have fun, kiddo."
Insta-install, and then this motherfucking intro played:
There is a reason why they upped the armor and gun with the "easy eight" and eventually crapped out the Pershing
Couldn't hurt a tiger at ANY range, and a panzer IV would be more than enough to kill one
Shit even the tankers at the time pretty much if asked would tell you that those things were death traps
Motherfucking Nelson class
We will never have something both as useless and awe inspiring as this thing again
Only a 17 pounder anti tank EMPLACEMENT had a on-paper chance of hurting it from the front
If the bastard came out before the end of the war I think it would have been a big difference(likewise with the Elefant)
The sad truth is that the late german tanks where over developed, too expensive and it took too long to ensemble, maybe there where the best tanks around, but not the ones that won the war
>nobody will ever build enormous weapons simply for the sake having them again
>you will never fire an artillery piece the size of a skyscraper
I have now reached the conclusion that life simply is no longer worth living.
>Only a 17 pounder anti tank EMPLACEMENT
I got just the thing. Here's a Firefly emplacement in defilade, that good enough?
I am the bringer of pain and justice.
Is that some Twisted Metal 1? I think I just came a little.
So wait, that's a fucking helicopter?
I haven't a clue really and I've run out of Nelson pics so heres a KGV
>giant bipedal mechs with ARMA's engine
>using a picture of the much shittier british apache
>not my god of the skies molten rain death machine from the U.S. OF A.
no it was panzer 4 you fucking retard. Also
>the guy who was there, in charge of maintaining the tanks and worked on the tanks himself is full yet you, the fat autist who knows nothing is correct
Yeah no you're full of shit. Typical /v/irgin
You dont need that many, Were they over designed and outrageous considering their industry?
Yes, but assuming you had them on the front (even in limited numbers) prior to barbossa being commanded by greats like rommel and it might have done some considerable damage
Remember, the Tiger was a feared monster that raped whatever it wanted to, a big'in version of that used as a defensive tank or shit even a shield would have made the already very strong panzer groups seemingly unstoppable.
Roll the dice, if you dont kill it in 1-3 shots its going to kill you
It can move and the emplacement cant, It wasn't a super tank, lets be realistic. But being in something that the only feasable thing that can kill it is fuckin airplanes and you got a pretty good tank
And it was pretty fucking quick and with a 80 percent working order at the end of the war(where all the factories were bombed to hell) thats pretty impressive
>when a fish hits a BB
Twaddlecock, nothing can penetrate British steel
>tfw no Wiesel to cuddle with
>Couldn't hurt a tiger at ANY range
>M61 had a muzzle velocity of 617 m/s (2024.28 ft/s) and was credited with the ability to penetrate 3.3 inches (84 mm) of Rolled Homogeneous Armor plate(0° from vertical)at 500 yards range
The AP rounds for the 75mm penetrate 84mm of rha @ 500yards you say? A bit closer or on the side/rear armor it would turn a tiger into swiss cheese. Now take into account the E2, E8, and firefly shermans with their far superior armament not to mention their heavily upgraded armor and better everything else. Stop watching the history channel for your information.
Why would a sherman need to flank a panzer iv when it has the penetration to kill it from the front?
And then there is the fact that i am well aware of what this mechanic, Belton Cooper, wrote in his book. The 5:1 ratio was specifically in reference to the Panther
>the guy who was there, in charge of maintaining the tanks and worked on the tanks himself is full yet you, the fat autist who knows nothing is correct
>Implying someone working a tank has had any education on how to operate a tank, especially in the 1940s
They work completely fine, handling takes some time to get used to but it's solid, they're based off tanks.
They kinda fuck up if you collide them though and they go flying which is hilarious but you know. No full scenarios for them yet either, but VR Battle Royaling them is fun
It was up to the gills full in open beta, now its on steam and even more filled
Pretty fucking good, as they have a retarded amount of tanks and weapons. Though they have yet to add new factions(coming next build apparently) and potentially the east front(captured russian weapons are around, but very few in number)
Well fuck me, I never noticed the resemblance before.
Jumbo, Easy Eight, and Firefly are all produced models of the Sherman, so yes I am. If you are talking about the Panzer 4 you sure as hell aren't going to be referring to the early models with their paper armor and shit gun. Those things can't hold a candle to hardly any Soviet, U.S., or British design.
What's the mod name?
I'm fucking playing with mechs tonight.
sometimes i'll see a ferret for sale and i kinda wanna pick it up
Technically both. Only the late war pzIVs(ausf g and onwards) had 80mm of armor(50mm + 30mm spaced). The earlier variants had 50mm or less and thus not protected from the 75mm shermans
What is this, Russia's answer to the M3 Bradley?
Well of course other shells can hit.
Ah the Hood, a fine ship with a tragic end.
I wish you could use this car against the last boss.
That's a mighty fine ship you have there. It would be a shame if something were to happen to her.
Something around the keel, near her Achilles heel, eh.
This baby. What's that? You think a bridge and some water is gonna keep me from flanking you? Please.
Enjoy your thin armor and shitey bullets.
tfw I've only ever seen the Fox and the Ferret in Arma 2 mods
it's an answer to the tunguska and shilka having insufficient armor for clearing cities of chechens
Why are light tanks and recce's so kawhy.
This thing can probably run circles around a Chally, Leop or Abrams
Now with bonus pic
>play a lot of ArmA
>a LOT of ArmA
>can spend like 6 hours simply ferrying people to and from an AO
>spam Flight of the Valkyries for my own amusement in the vehicle channel whenever I have passengers
I also really like the twin rotors.
>you will never team up with two other bros to crew a BMPT or BMPT-72 and cleanse the city of snackbars
Fuck this cruel world and fuck stupid ass game devs for always castrating ground vehicles.
>Dual cannon turret
Good god, I haven't seen that on a modern armored vehicle since WWII
Chally2 is faster can shoot further, is more accurate and has better armour
in a fight chally2 wins but abrams has a lot of infantry suppression and has 10 miles extra range. Good for infantry support, which is the role tanks are filling now since we dont have tank battles anymore, but in pretty much every area there isnt a great deal in it
chally2, m1a2 and the leopard 2 are the 3 best tanks in the world
The constant rotation of the main rotor provides a direct current (reffered to by Nikola Tesla, the inventor) that stabilizes their body's essentially, it's constantly pushing back on them keeping them stable even when the helo goes in for the Delta Force special 180 degrees helo insertion. Then the main rotor is spun less and the tail rotor spins twice as fast to balance out the discrepancies and the Delta Force can repel off of it easily
But sometimes it doesn't go according to plan like when the tail rotor got hit by an RPG in Black Hawk Down and the littlebird crashed and the whole status of the mission changed.
The BMPT concept is based on SPAAGs, which usually sport multiple cannons as to throw as many rounds at enemy aircraft.
Except the BMPT is based on a tank-chassis and up-armored as to fuck up infantry trying to hid in buildings.
I fucking love A-10s
>Dem dual 30mm cannons
Imagine that thing shooting at you
I mean holy shit
It would be like watching a girl take her clothes off
This plucky little thing, with a full loaf of sappers armed with PIAT's.
So fun in CoH
A contender for my favorite vehicle but still not my favorite.
>Pentagon wants to nix this glorious motherfucker for the F-35
>F-35 ever being used in a CAS role
>F-35 ever being allowed to go lower than 15,000 ft with a full wing of 4 additional F-18's around it ready to intercept any enemy AA directed at the F-35 with their planes
>glass cannon senate flight system ever being able to match up to the A-10
What the fuck are they thinking
russia gets scary when you start talking chechens
I like to think getting turned into fine red mist by a BMPT would be like having my intestines ripped from my abdomen and having it chewed on by the most mucho kawaii girl of my dreams.
> this is basically a ballistic flamethrower capable of literally wiping out city blocks because thermobaric rockets and shockwave interference
Man, russians sure are fucking nuts.
I would like the F-35 if the Airforce was retarded and wanted to axe the a-10 (one of the best CAS planes of all time) and put a fucking jet fighter with less munitions that costs way more in its place.
>Join deathmatch on Airport
>get in the heli
>mowing niggas down
>kill other helis trying to kill you
>king of the sky
>"noob in heli"
>mfw they all suck in the heli and rage at me for it
>that feel when they changed how it looks
>that feel when it will likely never look as badass as in halo 3 again
>that feel when halo 4 was shit compared to all the other games
>that feel when you can't change your map vote last second to piss off the kiddies who voted for the other map
>that feel when you will never have as much
funas you did in halo 3 and reach again
There's no way in hell the F-35 will ever be used in a CAS role like the A-10. Not only because it would stall at speeds that the A-10 comfortably cruises in, but no commander wants to be the first one to lose an F-35 in combat.
You could buy like 4 A-10's + GAU-8 ammo for the cost of one fucking F-35
>that feel when it will never look as badass as in Halo 3
>mfw a brittooth and ameribulb was fighting over who had the most useless MBT
Anyone else fucking love tank camo/netting?
>dat horrible acting
>dat terrible CG
>"they don't even see us coming" loud as prop and no stealth what so fucking ever and like 20 of them clustered as fuck
>30mm on a prop plane
>forward firing 30mm on a glorified "drop ship"
>having enough room for troops AND internal munitions
nah I can't watch anymore made it to like the 2min mark
>mfw some years back having Wiki as a source was laughable
>mfw everyone now uses Wiki as their primary source
I don't need weapons. Fighting accomplishes nothing. All I need is my truck and I can deliver goods to the world.
>lack of actually taking the time to get credible citations
Or is it just the fact that nowadays anon usually doesn't even know where to look, beyond wiki?
>it'd be hard to find them on instant notice
/k/ is tripfag central nowadays, so just searching by their name or trip would be enough.
>all this real-life pleb shit
I bet your tanks can't even jump, faglords.
