last vidya figure I bought is Alter Aegis
waiting on Peach amiibo
I literally just bought that Figuarts Mario at the DisneyWorld World Showcase Japan giftshop a few days ago.
Posability is pretty weak, but I love the shit out of it.
All of the shopkeepers were actual cute japanese women.
I was dropping my spaghetti all over the fucking place and even said "arigato" in reply to her thank you.
I'm half cringing half proud of myself.
I said arigato gozaimasu to the middle-aged Japanese lady at my University bookstore.
She saw I was learning Japanese based on the books I was getting and she said
>You know the best way to learn Japanese!?
>Get a Japanese girlfriend
I dreamed about fucking her that night.
Thank you guys, up until now I thought I was fairly unsociable and weird but you guys have given me hope that I'm not anywhere as much of a sperglord as /v/ makes me think I am.
It's entirely about the delivery.
If you're stuttering, avoiding eye contact, etc. then it's gonna be weird regardless.
You can basically say anything if you're being assertive.
>not having a smash collection started
D-Arts Charizard (And Venusaur and Blastoise, just because)
Jakks new 6" Bowser and Dong
yes. Although I will be getting rid of my Nendoroid Luigi. Probably give it to my sister.
Jakk's site says September, there is also a 5" line coming out in November, and I think the Diddy (and maybe the Ganon) will work for the Figma/Smash though, Ganon being smaller than Link might not work (Figma Link is 5.5" high)
They really need alternate faces. Luigi's expressionless stare is unnerving.
I started on the slope a long time ago. And while I don't really regret, my collection just keeps growing, so there are a few purchases that I regret or will regret. Like figma Samus is great, but eventually someone else is going to get the license and give us a better suit design.
I have a lot of Revoltech and Play Arts Kai Metal Gear Solid figures. I'm at work, but I have this picture of my most recent addition.
I would love to but I decided that it is too much of a goddamn slipperly slope. I almost went video game collector, but then I thought, "this is just stuff, I buy games to play them, not collect them." and as awesome as figures are, it would just turn into an obession for me.
I do. I can't bring myself to throw the boxes out. My house is a nightmare.
>tfw I have most likely spent more than $20,000 on figures at my local hobby shop
Had no idea there was an upcoming articulated DK. I'm excited for that. How expensive are Jakks? And are they best ordered online or found in stores?
I wish I had enough money to own the fuct of Pepsi Pepsiman
I got one loose actually.
Just keep your eye on ebay and you'll get him sooner or later.
Are your gunpla shit, anon?
MGS characters in general have muscular legs.
as a guy with big thighs myself it is nice to see characters that aren't just huge upper body/chicken legs like most character designs.
I just ordered some Touhou and Metal Gear Solid stuff.
I'm pretty new to /toy/ buisness, probably bought shit overpriced and from wrong sellers, but I don't mind.
Also, Daft Punk figurines.
I personally like a mix of both. It's funny when one thing clashes with another.
Ya, I'm waiting for this to launch so I can finally pay for my pre order, I also have some nendos coming next month
I can't seem to find a place where's its not a 100$
>imagine the figure being sticky for a month
I only ever buy Type-Moon figures but I'm a completionist. I probably have close to a 100 Saber figures alone.
Fuck, with the F/sn 2014 coming around the corner, I'm gonna have some fucking work to do.
online shopping. Amiami is my main.
Waiting for payment request, also trying to decide between GSC or Koto Nero.
>tfw collect Rider and magical girl toys
considering how companies make limited runs all the time, they can't restock it and their discounts are fucking amazing. Can't blame them really.
I bought a couple of Halo Reach figures. They're pretty well made but a bit loose in some joints. I really wish I had kept them mint- fucking Emile goes for like $80 if not more in the box.
I have Venasaur, Blastoise, and Lucario. Two of those are great nostalgia figures, and I get what you mean, but Lucario is a fun figure. I'm kinda assuming more "humanoid" pokemon make for better figures, and Mewtwo looks great. I'm just shocked Charizard is going for like 200+
>only nintendo club members in japan can get this
Looks like somebody doesn't understand this hobby. You should look into mandarake.
It's pretty nice, but this shit drives me up the wall.
and the prototypes. I don't know how they fucked it up so badly.
Anyone else on the kancolle ship?
I have a couple more but I've not taken pictures yet
>I'll have no more than 10 though.
As soon as you buy that first weeb figure your fate is set in stone. You will be slip sliding away with the rest of us.
I have no room for more than ten in my apartment. I'd have to buy another shelf. I mean I'll probably end up buying another shelf in the future anyways but not to solely store figures.
Anyone got any good Berserk figures? I want to get a good one of Guts
NECA, ladies and gentlemen.
At Least they're better with there movie licenced stuff.
I bought this a couple weeks ago.
Best cash ive spent on a plastic ass.
Well it does have a number of LN, manga, an upcoming anime and vita game.
I've been wanting to know how to paint garage kits for awhile now just so I can have this workout paying for a pre painted one, I know I'm just gonna cave soon though
I want to get some, but I don't like any series or show enough to spend money on it.
I think a little lewd is ok, line this is the cutoff point, but I don't want a small plastic naked girl masturbating on my shelf
I swear looking in the R-18 section of amiami can be a hilarious experience
Will be picking this up soon.
Waiting for the latest Guts figma from Good Smile.
A good chunk of my vidya figures are MH related.
I wish they'd reissue this guy.
It's interesting to see how my collection has evolved over time.
I've got a dude willing to give way for $120 which is far cheaper than the high end of 150+
Does anybody have news on this fig?
This hobby is actually what got me into Kamen Rider. I discovered OOO by stumbling into an SIC general. This is an old photo from the before times, about a year ago. Rider really blew the powder keg on this hobby.
Sometimes I think about how I haven't done anything significant in the past few years, but then I realize I've done TONS of stuff that is not significant and I feel better.
You're all faggots. I can actually give these to my kids one day. The fuck are you gonna do with your plastic figurines?
It's the reverse for me, for figuarts anyway.
I just overheard some friends talking about Kamen Rider and marathoned a bunch of the original series. To bad the youtuber I relyed on for my fix of Rider got shut down recently.
It's a Revoltech. Not a figma.
Lrn 2 japanese toy brands.
>Does /v/ collect toys/figures?
The better question is
Does /v/ play with toys/figures?
I kind of want a lot of amiibos
Thank god I have low income and bills to pay to keep me from burying myself in collectables
not awful but not cheap either. Josef's mouth opens though so it's worth it.
I like posing them in random scenarios.
I tried to stay away from collecting videogame figures, but my girl would sneak on the computer and order more toys or plush of Mario and Pokemon stuff.
But then I saw the Amiibo, and that made me want to get toys like that.
Soon after, my room is filled with Nintendo and Pokemon junk and it feels awesome.
I've got a few kamen rider belts.
>OOO with all the medals
>W with the gaia memories
>Gaim with just orange, banana, sunflower, kachidoki and kiwami
I can't decide which other lockseeds to get. Apple set is in the mail though.
I personally don't care for statues at all, but I can understand the appeal. I think the benefits of joints out-weight their detriment, but some people feel the opposite is true
>Seriously buying toys despite being an adult
There's being a manchild in the buzzword sense and then there's being an actual manchild. Some of these pics look like what you'd find in a kid's bedroom.
I only have it because I saw it at a garage sale and thought "I have an Elsie nendo, I need this."
I think it was four bucks? Had a bunch of stickers on I yanked that shit off since they were ugly and faded anyway./
>seriously being on 4chan despite being a normalfag
There's being a normie in the buzzword sense and then there's being an actual normalfag. Some of these posts look like what you'd find on Reddit.
and here's my pokemon junk. My girl got me that D-Art Vensuar and those shiny NFC Pokemon Rumble figures to start off my Amiibo collection . Then she tells me not to worry how much she spend on them. Should I be worry? nah
Hey! I'll put some proper shelves one day!
I haven't even finished the game because I don't want it to end ;_:
I have Darth Revan and Malak minibusts from Gentle Giant on my desk. I used to collect the Final Fantasy play arts figures, but they're locked away now. Had a really good collection at one point.
I still haven't picked him up even though he's been rereleased for the 10th time?
I should though.
One of these days I need to get an Aigis figure.
I fell in love with her after Persona 3
some statues I own but they're mostly Marvel statues.
and one more.
Damn it first pic only has image sideway.
>I kind of want to get that galactus and have him fight a bunch of those lego guys.
The fucker is like 800 bucks and stands about 37 inches tall. It also has it's eyes, chest and base light up.
I rarely have vidya related figures, also got to make room for Shimakaze, Ryuko figmas, and a reissued Alucard Revoltech. I wish Revoltech would continue making normal figures, not the scaled down ones.
Have you put in your preorder yet /v/?
I wish I had more desk space to put everything up. This guy up there guards my shit though. Had him for a long time.
You're trying to show off. Have some self respect. It's one thing to just do it quick and simple if the thread was asking you to post your collection but that's not really the case.
>You die in a sudden accident, or become a suspect in a neighborhood crime, or god forbid, someone who isn't your fat mom visits your house
>One way or another they find their way to your room
Just what the hell do you think is gonna go through sombody's mind when they see all these babby toys in an adult's room? Having a game console is one thing, but this shit is just gay. Wasting money on shit just to hoard it and embarass yourself if anyone finds out. I guess having one of your favorite non weeb character is acceptable, but come the fuck on
I can get over how shit those Pokemon Rumble figures are.
If they actually looked like the Pokemon, and not like low poly paper craft versions of Pokemon, kids would have gone crazy for them. I would have gone crazy for them.
>better suit design
as a Samusfag, I hate to say the other M design is official ala Smash 4. Since that one is least favorite, I've spent some time obtaining the Sammies I know will never be made again.
I hate Other M but I really kinda like the suit design. At least, the way it is in smash. My problem comes from when she gets any other suit and it's just a change in colors on the outlines or whatever. That's garbage.
Also waiting for Amazon to release hopefully next month.
I'm missing Shredder, Foot Soldier, Krang, and Casey Jones from the TMNT 25th Anniversary collection they released a few years ago
Didn't see all of them in stores, now they're like $30 each
I have a few. I made a regretful purchase so I'm giving up. Last things I want to get are the MG 1/100 Turn X gunpla and an HGUC Baund Doc if they ever make one of those. I really don't have the shelf spaces to do it.
Got it a the swap meet for like 3$
you can get them pretty cheap on ebay
Just tell them straight, that's basically what I did. I wouldn't bother with the "several months of light use" part though. They're probably more inclined to help if the figure was more recently purchased.
no, I'm implying that being embarrassed about something like that makes you an insecure faggot.
And you are
Be honest and polite with them, they'll be more likely to replace it.
Any specific one you are looking for? Here's a pikachu
Good God anon get bigger shelfs. That RAH Unit 01 is going to fall from the slightest bump ant's going to take that shelf and your monitor with it
Don't worry they each have stands holding their waists, no way for them to fall. You just can't see it really well in the picture. But yeah I need to clear off a lot of stuff so it's not such a clusterfuck.
I collect art books more than i do figures. only have 1 figure really, and i'm only really interested in the street fighter ones.
>walking purple bringer of genocide
>walking suit of god armor, her chest brings light to the darkness.
Will light suit never get any figure love? Its the most original design goddam it!
Oh I thought I had my settings for sorting only buy it now, my bad. My friend got the one he wanted for $6 on an auction with obo, but I guess it depends on which one you want since he got Togepi
i have no where to put it so untill i build some new shelves, it'l have to stay in the box.
my art books fell on top of the figure when i first had it out and i almost had a heart attack
I await the day figuarts makes a DK.
I forgot I had Mirai
>Does /v/ collect toys/figures?
My two newest ones.
Awaiting the Amazon and the new Megahouse Sorc from Dragon's Crown in the next two months.
One time, I was buying a strike witches artbook at a japanese bookstore. The cashier was a young asian guy.
He says "Oh strike witches is great!"
I say "O-okay.." and leave
I dreamed about fucking him that night.
In college, all my roommates were normal fags but I still put up my figures and slept with my dakimakura. I was really nervous at first but after awhile I just stopped caring. Had girls in the room too but they were friends that liked anime too so dunno if that counts.
Ah, good. I was a bit hesitant to post my Rex since there was Gunpla/Plamo in the background.
I have a lot of those, but I'll keep it short by posting only my absolute favorite part, so here's my pikmin stuff.
The pikmin wiki tells me that it's not the case, so I don't think so.
I would have got them if it had been the case, though.
They did some keychains with them that were given at some store in the US, but as a french dude I couldn't find them to save my life.
Might get them someday on ebay.
>spending this much time on the internet, and think people with money are wired
People have been Collecting toys for a long time, this is nothing new.
You on the other hand have nothing to show for but nothing ignorance
He looks more poseable than the average nendo.
Of course I've never owned a nendo so I wouldn't know for sure.
I got Elizabeth so far, she's pretty fucking perfect all around. The horror stories about Mitsuru keep me from getting her, though.
>250 word essay due tomorrow
>haven't even started
>surfing websites about video game figures
/v/ you need to stop derailing my attention span
Nice Metabee m8, where did you get it?
At the time she was pretty expensive. As far as the build goes, there's those huge hair splits you're going to notice, the fur coat looking like crap, and the sword's blade tends to be tilted instead of straight with the hilt.
I literally have a Froakie plush and that's it as far as vidya goes.
I mean, I have an imported Snoopy Christmas figurine with real-time Christmas tree action, d-does that count?
>tfw no Drossel
> imported Snoopy Christmas figurine
> with real-time Christmas three action
Slap shit all you want, this was worth EVERY penny for real-time Christmas tree action. You can even wiggle the ornaments.
I bet even your most expensive animu vidya figurine doesn't let you do that.
It's okay, anon, we all have some shit in our closets.
Drossel von Flugel in cute clothes, obviously.
>You can even wiggle the ornaments
Well shit anon why didn't you just say so? I totally get you now.
hey those are neat i wou-
>Speigal in the background
i like you anon
>can only afford $5 2 inch figures of debatable quality from Amazon
yeah its called a slippery slope for a reason
my 1st fig was aigis
Figmas are honestly the nicest figures you can buy.
PAK is all around garbage
Figurarts have horrid QC and hideous joints
Revoltingtech is just gross with their weird as fuck sculpts (although the ones that are closer to their source material are GOAT)
All around Figmas have the best sculpts without compromising poseability. Although the back of the knee joints often look awful. That and they make too much animeshit
I bought this. Also planning on getting the Catatonic, Guido and Polly when they come out.
Just my Phoenix Wright statue.
Toon Link Nendo in November
Funny coincidence, I just happen to be watching Martymer81's rebuttals of Spirit Science right now.
Should I get the Mario Figurarts?
I have the Vile and Mega Man Bandai figures but I find the quality not that great and Vile's foot fell off and it took fucking ages to get back in due to the double joint in it
Sorta. I started at this years Anime Expo. So far only little stuff.
This UC Damashii is the most expensive thing yet at $30. I got a lot to learn about posing these fuckers. I'm still contemplating about dropping $90 on Tiki from Dragon's Crown, or $60 for the Ryuuko figma.
>implying my desk can be guarded
Even yotsuba and jehuty cannot guard all this mess and dust.
