Just because it has no priority attacks, is double weak to Bullet Punch, and almost every team has some kind of Steel move on it now to deal with Fairies, that doesn't mean it's completely useless.
Alright, I thought that was actually clever.
Gen VI has the best designs since Gen III in my opinion. They're more original and better looking than Gen V, at least.
Gen I= Good designs
Gen II= Better designs
Gen III= Acceptable designs
Gen IV= Mediocre designs
Gen V= Absolutely terrible designs
Gen VI= Good designs
Each generation has its gems though. Except V. Fuck that generation.
Unless you've actively went and looked up the designs since Gen I and saw what they looked like in their respective games and beyond, your opinion holds no weight.
Never base your opinions off of selective sampling.
>Lucha Libre Bird
>Grandpa Knight Chesnaught
Gen 6 had some bad designs but it also had some fucking great ones too. Just like, surprise, every gen.
How does one have an opinion so wrong?
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
Yeah I love the forgettable skiploom, mareep, bellossom, noctowl, and all those other boring pokemon everyone forgot about.
And you know what I love most about the gen that only gave us 100 Pokemon? How half of it was all babies like igglybuff, cleffa, and magby.
We had like 10 good Pokemon from that gen and most of them were the starters, evolutions of old Pokemon who were already good like Scyther to Scizor or Heracross.
It felt like an expansion to IV and only had very few decent designs. Also one of the worst plots in the franchise, right after VI, which has many more good features to make up for it.
Then you really have nostalgiagoggles on.
Gen I designs aren't much better than the rest, so if you like them more you probably don't like Pokemon to begin with and just played it as a child.
>mfw I got a Diggersby Shiny before reaching the town with the first gym on day 1
>could barely tell he was shiny aside from the eyes
>evolves into Bugs fucking Bunny when shiny
Shit if he had Huge Power he would've been my bro for life. Still, having a shiny HM Slave with Pickup was pretty legit.
>calling anything else a quarantine board
Oh my fucking god, the irony, kid. Even though this place sucks compared to 5 or so years ago, I still like it, but this is just too much.
Snow Warning (Secondary)
Power Gem (what the fuck where is it)
Signature move: Crystalize, does Rock and Ice damage and has a 10% chance to paralyze.
Yeah no. Also, calling the plot of VI better than V kinda proves you're talking out of your ass.
It also has the cutest damn bug type of all.
>Rock and Ice damage
Jesus christ that would make him good. Against Dragonite that would be *12 damage lol. Against Garchomp it'd be *2 though. Against any flying type it does x4 damage...
>We had like 10 good Pokemon from that gen and most of them were the starters, evolutions of old Pokemon who were already good like Scyther to Scizor or Heracross.
I didn't say there weren't great designs. All gens have some gems.
That's 5 Pokemon out of 100 introduced.
You're skimming over the shit we got like cleffa, pichu, tyrogue, hoppip, miltank, ledian, unown, stantler, I could go on.
The majority of the dex was awful.
It's like the exact opposite of how people see Gen 5. You see Garbodor and ice cream and call it a bad gen when the majority of the gen is generally agreed decent to good designs like Volcarona, Hydreigon, Bisharp, Golurk, Escavalier, Lilligant, Gigalith, Excadrill, Chandelure, Cofagrigus, and Zekrom.
And for good reason. Cutest niggas next to Furret.
Sounds perfect for this guy
>tfw you will never travel the world on your Torterra
Gen two starters are alright.
Chikorita looks like a pokemon you should just be able to catch in the wild though.
Most boring stats in the game though, no interesting gameplay for any of them.
>tuxedo made of steel-wearing emperor penguin
>son goku as a pokemon retaining all of his shit
>a tortoise with the goddamned world on his back
They're some of the best we've had since Gen 1 or 3.
Feraligatr is actually really fantastic in terms of gameplay
Dragon Dance by breeding, sheer force hidden ability makes it so Waterfall is 1.33x+1.5x+1.33x with recoil-less life orb, boosted 1.5x after dragon dance plus speed if you get that in.
That's a 320 base power attack alone.
Serperior was pretty cool.
It was just a bit boring since when it was revealed everyone was getting so hype over Smugleaf and a bit disappointed because it could've been a dragon or something.
>Terrible anything other than Legendaries, villain team and plot
>You will never have a serperior with a hidden ability.
What were wrong with the legendaries or plot/villain team?
They fixed the kamis by BW2, the muskadeers were pretty neat and we had fucking Metal Gear Ray: Thunder Dragon and a really neat burning ice fusion thing for Reshiram. Only disappointment was like, Keldeo and incarnate forms.
N was still right and half of plasma was still with him. It was only bad in BW2 because neo-plasma basically turned into Team Rocket 2.
The plot was over bearing, especially in BW2. They didn't even give a reason for most of the musketeers to be caught, they just sat there in your way. There was no need to find them or anything.
Reshiram and Zekrom were pretty sweet, but Kyurem, on top of being ugly as shit, I feel could have been done better. The Kami got strange animal forms, for no real reason, or at least I don't fucking know what. And that little Pony thing got a new form, which is fine, but its form changed literally nothing about it.
Victini and Meloetta are really cool, and Genesect wasn't even fucking relevant in the game. It was just hinted at and then handed out a generation later.
And N's pretty fucking unbearable. When the game puts your "ideals" on the line at least once before every gym, it kinda loses its impact. And Neo Plasma was neat, but Corless was really fucking boring. And the story always seemed like a chore. In just about every gen the plot was usually where you were going anyway, but in gen 5 you'd usually have to go out of your way to do something that felt like a sidequest to deal with something that hardly seemed like it mattered.
go to /vp/
dont you think youll get more better responses from vp, a board devoted to pokemon
i think general pokemon thread about games as wholes are fine, but specific thread about specific pokemon makes no sense
You can have one in Gen V at least.
I don't play it for the story, that's why I love gen 5 so much. I pretty much ignored all the worthless plot and legendaries and enjoyed the sweet music, scenery and really cool pokemon.
I'm still on offense of calling BW2 bad as a game, but good as a stepping stone for later gens to use shit from it (seriously PWT2 when), so you're sorta preaching to the choir on that.
The whole of his design was being "incomplete" though. He was doing his job as an ugly 1/3 of a dragon that didn't even get assigned to truths or ideals. It's a dried husk and to be honest, White Kyurem is the only reason I can stand Reshiram with his goat features on a chicken body with a feather penis.
Mostly they're throwbacks to nostalgia, Tornadus is like a legendary bird and Landorus is a legendary beast
Like Mew, Celebi, Deoxys
N only meets you like 3 times before the whole legendary ordeal at like the 7th gym. And he's working as both a rival and main antagonist. Gen 5 was trying to incorporate characters into the story besides you, they had shit going on too, they could help you with your shit, that was the whole idea.
Really glad Reshiram+Kyurem got assigned to White 2 and Zekrom alone was assigned to White 1.
Honestly Black Kyurem looks like some sort of bulky cave beast and also this sounds oddly racy thinking about it.
I get Kyurem's role, like him being Ice type because he's lost all his energy into Zekrom and Reshiram. I just don't like his looks. Its more personal distaste, than a burning hatred.
>The Kami were throwbacks to previous legendary trios
But why did cloud genies turn into birds and beasts?
I'll give you Mew, but Deoxys and Celibi were released in their generations, were they not?
>Black Kyurem looks like some sort of bulky cave beast
probably because it is
>But why did cloud genies turn into birds and beasts?
Because nostalgiafags can only dream of everything being like Gens 1 and 2.
>I'll give you Mew, but Deoxys and Celibi were released in their generations, were they not?
They were pretty much the same situation as Genesect. No in-game event or anything for Deoxys until FR/LG. Even using that, Jirachi never got anything and was distributed the same way as Mew, Celebi, Arceus, Arceus, Genesect, and Diancie.
Just handed to you, pick it up from the Pokemart with no applause or anything, just shows up in your party level 15 or 50 or something.
I think the only event that's actually had a location in the past long time is Victini, since they had to stop the glitches in D/P.
Fuck that's too much work
>Modern site design
>Admins aren't assholes
>Can't post ____ here!
Depending on your art site, pick 1-3, christ.
I love this stupid fuck, but man, he's only good if you totally ignore his strong jaw ability.
Man, gen 3 was fucking fun. Shame it's gonna be a cake walk when its remade.
You can describe a lot of pokemon as "just" something.
>raticate is just a rat
>pidgey is just a pigeon
>ledyba is just a ladybug
>murkrow is just a crow with a hat
>tropius is just a flying banana dinosaur
>chimecho is just a bell
>galvantula is just a tarantula
>scolipede is just a centipede
Honestly, people forget two major things about Pokemon and their designs
1) Lots of pokemon particularly early on, were drawn and created before they were even put into the games. For instance Girafarig existed before Gen 2 was even in development.
2) Earlier games had simpler designs because of lower visual quality. Meaning you had less detail on pokemon, and why later pokemon have more spikes and stripes and segmented colors.
Ice in general needs to be revamped as a type
Make it resistant to Water and Ground, and maybe one other type (Bug?) and then it'll at least be somewhat more viable as a type.
Avalugg and Cloyster are good defensively DESPITE their type, not because of it. It takes some of the highest base defenses in the game for a pokemon of that type to not be obliterated. Regice is the same way.
Ice was designed with so many weaknesses because it has so much offense. It is mean't to be glass cannon.
If anything it's ground typing that breaks the game, way too much defense and offensive coverage and too many high attack-high accuracy moves.
I don't have a really substantial argument against it nor should I really give so much of a shit, but it just bugs me.
Well Rock is one of the best offensive types in the game but every rock pokemon is stated like a shitty tank.
Poison has the same problem with being a great tank type but every poison type is offensive.
Ice would be fine if it had really fast, really strong offensive sweepers.
But Game Freaks thinks ice STAB is somehow horribly game breaking.
>tfw your favorite pokemon is shit at battling
The fuck did you say
>Gains Tough Claws
tfw your favorite pokemon is top 10 worst pokemon of all time for no good fucking reason
Seriously, fucking baby and joke pokemon are better than him
>Nuclear reactor pokemon
The fan one from Pokemon Sage or the Fire Water type legendary in X and Y?
Also Pokemon Sage has some terrible wasted potential.
It barely did any unique typing combinations outside of fire grass and poison electric.
Stealth rocks are the dumbest addition to the games ever. They make so many pokemon fucking worthless in battle.
It would have been fine if it was a non-stackable spikes where the first(and only) layer does more damage.
It would have been fine if it didn't hurt flying pokemon, like spikes. But no. Gamefreak went full retard.
This one. There's a whole evo line, but this is the final form.
Which is ironic considering its theme and type.
It should work more like pokemon only take damage from entry hazards if they have switched out before, so that way pokemon don't loose their health without even doing anything
>froakie and frogadier have two bubbles on their nose
>greninja has nothing
This flairs my autism up so much, they missed the perfect chance for a kickass moustache
And the english localization, I hope?
It feels like watching a completely different anime when you watch the original japanese version. Like the people actually take their roles seriously.
Ash manned the fuck up in X/Y
Frogs lose their protective foam as they mature, that's their thing.
>Still no Bug ro Ghost Eveevolution
>You will never get stuffed inside a macro, chubby pokemon's cockhole
Having an ice move is a blessing.
Having on an ice type is a massive gamble, most of them are so fucking fragile they break so easily. Like, give it resist to dragon and maybe grass or something. Give actual ice type pokemon some sort of bulk against other types.
Mamoswine sees a ton of use and Kyurem has three different tiers it's in
Yeah, so it's those and Dragon that are all special types and the heuristic is that everything that isn't an eeveelution or dragon is physical.
It's 90% of why I wanted a dragon eeveelution aside to Sylveon in Gen 6.
Thanks, though. I appreciate it.
Neither am I. Normally I'm glad when I don't have to read subtitles. But in this case, the difference really is day and night. I guess that's because kids series have lower budgets than adult animes or something.
>starters lines except meganium
Hating on Noctowl and Amphaross is unacceptable, anon. Come on. Also there were only 6 babies.
If you're gonna give us example of bad Pokemon give us examples of bad Pokemon. It's not that hard.
Its not about the VAs, it's the music. Apparently it's cheaper to make your own music than to license the OST, and the dub fucking ruins it with persistent, shit sounding background noise. It's a totally different experience with the original audio.
Also, this Ash hate is fucking stupid. He was an idiot in gen 1 because he was a beginner. He got progressively better until it took a cheating legendary user to beat him in gen 4. They rebooted him into an idiot in gen 5 which is why we all ignore it. In gen 6 he's pretty fucking based.
best gym leader, best town, best eeveelution, best type
They can afford it, they just choose not to, because they're a bunch of cheap cunts.
My least favorite thing about X/Y is how forgettable all the gym leaders and towns are.
I can't name any leaders or E4 off the top of my head. I vaguely remember the designs. I also can't name any of the towns. The music is forgettable too. It's probably because, with no postgame, what the fuck is the point of revisting things?
Here and last one as I'm going to get stronk at my gym now.
Well there's Electro-Wave Human Tackle.
>Go genetically engineer a tyrantrum for me so it can have its way with both of us
That takes time and effort though
>Gen 6's E4
>Gen 5's End game
>Gen 4's champion
if only we got something that fused all of these.
I don't know what that is, but it's not from Sage.
THIS is supposed to be the nuclear reactor mon. Ice/Poison.
>Gen 5's End game
Say what you will about gen 5, everything about the Pokemon league turning into N's Castle was fucking amazing. That shit gave me goosebumps when I first played it
Do not avert your gaze.
>Clearly doesn't want to be caught
>Does its absolute best to fight back
>Not only breaks out of the ball once, but is obviously struggling the second time since the ball shakes twice
Why is this allowed
>it wants to be caught
Explain why it's fighting so hard
Explain why it makes that face when it sees it's about to lose
Explain why it's crying as it falls to the ground
Explain why it screams when the ball hits it
Explain why it struggles hard both times it gets caught
Now explain to its family why they'll never see it again
The reason why Digimon bombed and is shit now is because they had they super edgy non-sensical designs of animals wearing guns and rockets and shooting lava out of their nostrils.
Pokemon is still a fucking success by keeping simple designs.
It was a different time.
Pokemon had things even a ten year old wanted to fuck.
can someone take his place and do purrloin
In the original Pokemon green sprites it was far more frog like and different from Poliwhirl.
What's more daunting is the fact that game freaks and the anime don't know where it's mouth is.
So he can stand out more with the white Kaloseans.
