>>254971315 >game starts out with those black hole things >go on some quest todo with glider or some shit >get side tracked doing stuff that leads into big plot >come back to home and theres a black hole thing
What was the point of all that crap. May as well not even have the whole black hole thing at all.
>>254971310 >Dragon's Dogma never explains how the Seneschal didn't kill himself out of boredom in 5 minutes like the rest of us.
He didn't have the Godsbane, did he? I think you had to beat him in order to use the one that was inside him or some shit, so that new Arisens could take his place if they wanted to, and then you had your own pocket one from beating Grigori that you used on yourself.
>>254970752 There are no games with plotholes because if there is something missing it's an artistic choice to make the experience more cinematic.
Anything from David Cage. I enjoyed Heavy Rain. It's fun to play but after playing it for the 2nd time or watching a playthrough, you realise that there are 10more plotholes that you thought there were.
>>254971025 Booker splits at the baptism. Either 1. He doesn't go through with the baptism, stays as himself, and has Anna/Elizabeth or 2. He goes through with the baptism, becomes Comstock, gets involved with Rosalind Lutece, and steals Anna/Elizabeth away from Booker
Killing him before he makes a choice means Elizabeth wouldn't be born. But, if you want to argue that she can be born somehow in a different universe because of CONSTANT ND VARIABLE or something like that, there's still Burial at Sea, which just ruins everything gameplay and story wise.
>>254971310 >Heavy Rain never explains the significance of Ethan's blackouts. They had this supernatural theme going like in Fahrenheit and Beyond, but then decided to cut it later in development, which fucked up the whole plot - "lo I saw your resolve when you tried to save your kid - something my father didn't have - and now we have this bond that makes you fold origami and see drowning bodies I AIN'T GONNA EXPLAIN SHIT". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxpdGB6Gbac
>>254971310 >Heavy Rain never explains the significance of Ethan's blackouts.
The original plan was that Ethan and the killer were psychically linked due to shared trauma, because the killer witnessed Jason dying and it reminded him of his own tragic childhood in turn. When Ethan blacked out, he was getting overwhelmed by the killer's mental state.
Someone apparently realized that this was too retarded, even for a David Cage game, and cut it out without removing it from the story entirely because they didn't give a shit.
>>254972208 Oh, it gets worst. The game have the idea of infinite variables, hence the name infinite. If there are infinite possibilities, then in one world Booker will just live with her daughter a happy man like any regular man.
>>254972651 >why doesn't the main character just body the bad guy >Why doesn't everyone just set a lunch date and talk things out instead of auto pressing the war button I swear to god it's either one or the other and everything would be better for everyone if they just talked instead of going "You don't understand" and then swinging their hunk of steel like a madman.
>>254972930 >I swear to god it's either one or the other and everything would be better for everyone if they just talked instead of going "You don't understand" and then swinging their hunk of steel like a madman. >But Dad! Why are you doing those evil things? >You wouldn't understand...now DIE! Fucking Bravely Default
>>254972635 But according to the game, the true story line is where Booker and Elizabeth fuck with anything, get involved with those revolutionaries in that dimension that they don't belong in where Suchond and Fink also happen to be exchanging ideas and Elizabeth from a different time also fucks with everything in Rapture and somehow sets up Bioshock 1.
Infinite should have just been adventures with some girl with huge tits that can open wormholes or something and you have to stop generic bad guy.
>>254973145 Motherfucker you already know what I'm going through. I love that game but god fucking dammit they're gonna pull some stupid shit to try to make me feel sympathetic for them and it's just terrible.
>>254972997 I forget the specifics but the original version of metroid prime implyed that the space pirates managed to get in to where the metroid prime was despite you needing those key things to do so.
>>254970752 >meteorite in russia >hole in russia >news mysteriously stopped >no footage of the team analyzing the hole >media is forbidden to cover it in detail >russian use ukranian excuse to move his military as needed to combat...something
>>254972973 it means thing happening that overlooks and/or contradicts the rest of the plot if the main dude is a badass why doesn't he just break the baddie's door down and shoot him if the main dude is a chump why doesn't he just walk away (because he's got the heart, kid) if cj kills cops, what made tenpenny special
really, anything has plot holes and it's not worth thinking about what ifs or whys
>>254973512 Infinite was actually my first. I thought the gameplay was nice, but the story should have been something much less complicated or better explained. Most I heard about the other games is that Bioshock 2 was awesome, from a friend.
>>254974065 Metroid Primes weapons and armor were mechanical.
Originally, the explanation was that it took them from the Space Pirates but they way into his lair is lock with those keys so that couldn't have happened, so they got rid of that explanation but never put in any sort of replacement.
>"It's for the good of everyone" >Forcing people to work 20 hours >Making a group lose touch with their roots and give them highly toxic hair dyes/poached animals/grind them up into perfume >Never ending civil war >Everyone that's not the obvious traitor is insane and evil
>>254973809 >gameplay was nice I hated it, but if you njoyed that, you will love bioshock 2. Bioshock 1 is still a good game, but it aged a little more, it goes like a fetch quest and you either hold yor gun or your power, can´t do both. Bioshock 2 has the drill, the drill and the motherfcking drill, plus now you can use plasmids and guns at the same time.
>>254974429 metroid prime got to the core after the space pirates creater her and after she escaped. Basically, within months/weeks before you arrived is when she got in the core, meanwhile the asteroid arrived years before you
>>254971310 >Any JRPG ever that has UWWWAAAAAAAAAA!! main character power boost retardation, or some out of fucking nowhere "real" main villain But he is so angry he can't die because his lust for vengeance is so great it bends the laws of the universe

"Test subject Z-d, hereafter referred to as Metroid Prime, was recently discovered in a cavern by mining crews. It quickly dispatched the miners, but was eventually contained by security units and drones. Once contained, we were able to begin studies upon Metroid Prime. The results have been astonishing. It is genetically similar to a Metroid, albeit on a high evolved level. It displays a limitless capacity for Phazon infusion and shows no Phazon-based degeneration whatsoever. It continues to grow in size, and while it has manifested some psychotic behavior, the cold field we use to pacify remain effective. Authorization for advanced studies on Metroid Prime have been approved." cont
>>254975984 "Metroid Prime continues to feed and grow ever larger in the impact crater caves. Its hunger knows no bounds, and it has begun to manifest unusual mutations since its breach. These include armor plating on its epidermis and mechanical outgrowths that generate defense screens. These screens render it invulnerable to most weapon systems, but a flaw in the mutation leads to increased vulnerability to certain weapons. It compensates for this by shifting the screens quickly. This latest development concerns Security units greatly: they feel it's a matter of time before Metroid Prime corrects this defect and renders itself invulnerable to all weaponry. Containment would be nigh impossible if this were to occur." Prime Breach "Subject Metroid Prime's breach has been contained. Reports indicate that it sensed a large batch of raw Phazon in the lab from within its stasis tank and broke through the glass, using previously unsuspected strength. Besides consuming all of the Phazon, Metroid Prime assimilated several weapons and defense systems from fallen security units. It has suffered no ill effect from said assimilation: indeed, it began to use its newly acquired weapons against us. Once we pacified it, we were unable to remove the assimilated gear without threat to Metroid Prime — the gear is now an integral part of its body. Command is intrigued by this newfound ability, and has ordered further study to commence at once."

>>254977834 There's nothing tactically unsound about a bipedal robot. The terrain it could cover would be terrifying. The only real physical problem with it would be severe motion sickness. Every other mechanical problem could be solved by better technology.
>>254977371 mmm, unless it is explained in a book, it looks like they only where under the earth living their lives and the imulsion problem made them think "Hey, the imulsion is fucking killing our planet, and those faggot Serans aren't doing nothing, let's kill them so we can try to survive on the surface, this planet is ours!" Some real life wars where started with more stupid motivations,
>>254978590 there's no point to a giant bipedal robot, its slow, easy to topple and its weight would cause it to sink into most forms of difficult terrain and pretty much everything it could step over a tank can easily drive over to begin with
and don't bother bringing "jumping" into it, if you can make a 200 ton robot jump you can damn well make a 50 ton tank jump. Would even be better at it than the robot because its legs wouldn't snap from the forces when landing
>>254972208 >Killing him before he makes a choice means Elizabeth wouldn't be born. But, if you want to argue that she can be born somehow in a different universe because of CONSTANT ND VARIABLE or something like that, there's still Burial at Sea, which just ruins everything gameplay and story wise.
Except they didn't kill him before he made a choice.
>>254972318 >The original plan was that Ethan and the killer were psychically linked due to shared trauma, because the killer witnessed Jason dying and it reminded him of his own tragic childhood in turn. When Ethan blacked out, he was getting overwhelmed by the killer's mental state.
If the killer was so sympathetic to Ethan's plight why did he choose Ethan's child for his stupid little "test."
>>254979550 Why can't devs get this right? My biggest problem with Bioshock infinite (appart from the shitty "only 2 weapons" thing and constantly running out of salt and losing powers) was that the ending made no sense.
Great looking game, but shit mechanics and storyline.
>>254975270 The Prime actually took Chozo weaponry before they sealed it in. Hence the fission metroids and its resistance to Samus' weaponry. There are actually lore pieces strewn about that explain this.
Female cop in Farenheit fucks the zombie protagonist when there's literally zero reason for her to do so, because for most of the story he's a murderer and the times they're shown together have nothing in the way of establishing a relationship.
The only way I can see it making sense is if she wanted a good hard dicking before probably dying, and Mr. Protagonist was the only dick not attached to a hobo.
As for the other part, I'm referencing Star Wars Episode 2, where Padme/Anakin fall madly in love (and eventually marry) when every moment we see them together is some form of walking, idle chatter, complaining, or murder/megalomaniacal ranting.
>>254972265 Apparently what they cut was that Ethan and the killer (that fat detective whose name I don't remember) had a psychic bond for NO RASIN. Which was the cause of his blackouts and the origami, literally even in the deleted bits where the explain the bond their is no reason given for its existence. Fuck the David Cage Rage Gauge.
>>254984712 And look how well that AI worked out for them. Every vehicle with an AI was destroyed by a single soldier. Now imagine what'd happen if you had a manned vehicle with a same-tier soldier inside.
Actual spoiler ahead: In the end Letho tells you he got into the La Valette castle by pretending to be a monk that needed to be rescues, when Geralt asks him about his lack of scars he tell him he bribed (and then killed) the person treating him to keep it a secret. Now.. How the FUCK would ANYONE think that Letho is a monk, I mean look at him, he's the fucking Hulk, even Geralt says to Roche that "he's the biggest man I've ever seen" and yet the La Valettes took him in??
>>254989640 It has been a long time since I watched it, but I think it was the spider saving him, THEN asura decided to climb back to life because her daughter was still in danger. It was not about asura "being so angry he resurrects", but about chackravatin manipulating him to continue his test and recreate the universe. Why did he decide to fight asura in a physical form and not simply outbullshit him with universal allmighty powers is beyond me though. But hey, its a plothole thread!
>>254984842 They have your dad right there and he literally says THERES A BUNCH OF STUFF BEHIND ALL OF THIS BUT THERES NO TIME TO EXPLAIN then he immediately dies as expected in the next fight so that they don't have to explain the locust queen.
>>254982640 >>254984274 I really love the series, but there are a lot of plotholes here and there, even confined to a single game, that are never explained. Like Liquid pulling off the whole "I was Miller all the time, you were working for me" but he sent anyway all his best man against you killing them in the process, and he even captured you for the lulz.
>>254980080 >the nuke delivery railgun would be significantly more effective if placed ontop of a submarine Like Arsenal Ge-- I mean, Outer Haven?
I think that the Metal Gear idea was a bipedal tank that could cover any kind of terrain (I think there was even a Peace Walker cutscene that proved the concept right) and (in case of REX) it would be invisible to radars, so they could fire a nuke from wherever they wanted.
>>254980080 I like R.A.D. justification Theres some lethal radiation in space that kills any life form on Earth. The earth is protected by the atmosphere, but humanity is doomed to never leave the Earth. So they build the Meganites. They arent simple robots for war, they are avatars of humanity, to represent them outside Earth Obviously this is just so they can have giant robots fighting each other, but still. not too bad for a justification.
>>254980080 If you go with that line of reasoning, even the ICB-railgun itself is beyond retarded. At least the original MG1-2 bipedal-with nuclear warhead tank idea is physically possible and more believable than that. You just need to loosen your disbelief for those parts of the game.
