Long story short, mate is in Japan, took some pics and vids from the local thrift shop, some of the game finds are hella good (like the Xenosaga plushie guy game), rest is kinda shit, but it's a buck a pop, all complete with manuals etc.
What else is good to get from Japan?
What do you reckon I should cop and tell him to get me?
>game with pantsu 700yen
>all other games 100yen,
>to make things worse pantsu game is simple2000 which is an el cheapo thing
>HEY GUYS! I JUST GOT BACK FROM JAPAN AND I TOOK SOME PICTURES OF A VIDEOGAME STORE!
>THAT'S PRETTY CUH-RAZEE!
I'm surprised they haven't harpooned your fatass and made soup out of you. Shame, really.
It's like that in America as well. Older AAA titles sell for around $20 or less depending on how old they are, while games like Neptunia and Atelier sell for around $27 - $30+
Unless you have a Japanese PS2 don't buy PS2 games. The ps2 is region locked. Look for Sega saturn games and then either buy the memory card or do the swap trick. Also you can buy Sega Saturns fairly cheap there.
>tfw lived there for 7 years and just recently moved back to chicago for waifus job.
We'll probably go back there someday but for now it's easier here.
I think that's why he took the picture, since I'm a very big Conan fan too. It's some typing thing though I think.
I have a modded PS2.
Ok. This is where he should check out
Super Potato: It's an amazing as fuck back ally store that has all of the greatest shit you could ever find and has an arcade on the top floor. It's right near the Hirosei Entertainment Yard (HEY) arcade down one of the side streets so it's really tucked away. If he's going down the side street and he passes Hirosei Entertainment Yard he went too far.
TRADER 1,2,3: The trader carry a variety of everything from old games to new games. TRADER 1 will have your oldest games, TRADER 2 will have your PS2 era games and TRADER 3 will have the newest games. Also If he was going to buy hentai all three of them have a melonbooks in them in the basement. I think they also just opened up a TRADER 4 but I'm not sure so that might be worth checking out as well.
The last place he should check out is AKIHABARA GAMERS: It's a smaller store along the main strip but that's the place that had the cheapest copies of Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean for the SNES.
If he wants to check out Arcades tell him to check out Hirosei Entertainment Yard. The first floor is nothing but the second floor is Rhythm games and Bullet Hells and the third floor is almost every fighting game you can think of. It's also the place that I met Daigo the first time and apparently Tokido goes through there on occasion as well.
I hope that list isn't too messy and helps out anon.
this. We don't care about your whether your friend or your gay lover from Thailand stopped by to check out a videogame store in Japan.
But since he's there, tell him to check out "book-off", you can grab preowned(practically fucking new over there) games from there too at great prices.
you're a poof
where the fuck is the fun in that? You might as well draw a fucking diagram while you're at. OP tell you're mate to fend for himself. He's a man, right? He's a big boy! Big boys loves adventures!
Thanks, told him about that.
Thanks for that too, do you know where the place is specifically?
Is it good? Might be bothered to get it since all seems cheap as fuck too.
Maybe the mate has better shit to do on his vacation then go fucking around weeb-city searching for games he doesn't really care all that much about.
He'll just take pics and vids, dropbox them and I'll tell them what's good, ocassionally make a thread here.
Feels bad man. I have almost all of those due to buying a Japanese PS2 back in the day, but my games are scratched up to all hell due to letting friends borrow my system and games.
I didn't tell him the exact location of any of these stores. That nigga will still probably get lost trying to find Super Potato because everyone gets lost trying to find Super Potato their first time even with directions. Also what if he doesn't have a lot of time.
>thanks for that too, do you know where the place is specifically?
Shouldn't be too hard to find. They're chain-stores so a little walking around or quick stop at an internet cafe can help him.
The SRW series is mainly turn-based strategy (Think Fire Emblem), featuring popular Mecha anime such as Gundam and Mazinger Z. If you don't know moon runes, then it's still playable, but you just need to figure out which action does what ingame.
TL;DR, go ahead and buy them.
But that's the point mein nigger! This is a videogame in itself! Shame on you. His gay lover from thailand is up for a crack'in good time and you just wanna spoil it! Jesus these children and their baby mode. I bet your mumma plays videogames for you.
>Maybe the mate has better shit to do on his vacation then go fucking around weeb-city
Well your mate is probably better off at weeb-city then being mauled and raped by annoying nigerians riddled with STD's. Hell he's probably cheating on you right now!
>I wish my mumma played vidya with me when I was younger. We barely talk anymore
And I can see why. You always look for validation and approval.
>mummy, mummy, I wanna hug
She can only look at you with sore and sheer disappointment.
And now you're here. With us. In the rings of hell. There is nothing between you and the abyss. Fall. I say. FALL
>let me wipe your ass for you anon
>ahh thanks a little to the left
Tales of Phantasia X for the PSP. It's the best version of Tales of Phantasia and it comes with Narikiri dungeon. It's too bad no one is translating Tales of Phantasia and only doing narikiri dungeon though.
Saw that too, might go ahead and tell him to get the cheapest Tales games.
And a copy of Valkyria Chronicles or w/e the game is for the PSP, second one, 5$ only
He's currently uploading more vids, probably be done soon I guess I'll make a new thread when it happens.
2000yen (20$) games, budget titles that are fun.
Also, second video for the conan fan!
It's a typing game like typing of the dead or something, google tells me.
Not worth it now that I look at it, it's a typing game for PC/Mac, dual bundle, one of them is for kids to learn english alphabet or something, second one is a case you get to solve yourself or something.
Really don't know what it is.
Also, this one actually has some shit I'll cop.
The first game definitely.
>Magical girl game
>Complete in box
Stay the fuck away from The Simple Series.
Get a PS3 if you don't have one yet (Beware the 3DS has region locked games) or a Vita if you like moe games.
I'm going to assume you know japanese:
You could get a Super Robot Taisen game or Sentimental Prelude if you're a huge waifufag.
If you have or are planning on getting a PS3 or a Vita, ask your friend to look for a normal game shop and take pictures of their respective sections. You'll find more interesting and japan only games than the ones on display on these pictures.
Or if you're interested in retro gaming, ask him to visit a specialized retro shop. Don't forget you could also purchase arcade goodies such as japan only PCB shooters or something from NEO GEO.
In fact, you'd be better off not limiting yourself to a single website's opinion, and go look for yourself in various websites and youtube channels looking for Japan Only games.
Retro gaming is full of them, and could mean a nice pool of games if you know japanese:
PC Engine games (anime games)
Sega Saturn games (Princess Crown for example and anime games)
PSX games (jrpgs)
Snes games (jrpgs)
Or if you can get them delivered without hassle, maybe Alice Soft games and other eroge.
If i were in your shoes i'd research the shit out of the internet to make the best possible use of this opportunity (even looking games by japanese developer and publisher on wikipedia), but then again, my taste is not your taste so you should do it yourself and see what you find amusing.
