Fire Emblem thread. Waifufags
allowed, but please keep dumps to a minumum
Priscilla has a horsey and pretty good growths all around the board save for HP and Def. The difference is that you get Serra much earlier if you play Lyn's mode, so it may not be worth using Prissy if your Serra is already very good.
>wanted to buy any FE because I liked Awakening
>every game is fucking expensive, like 110 bucks for Radiant Dawn and 60 Euros for Fire Emblem
T-thanks. I should probably emulate them instead.
Ursula? There's no reason to kill her, and she won't kill anyone if you don't get in her range of Bolting, even then, she does so little damage that a simple Physic will get your units back to full.
Of course, if you want to go ham, use Canas with Luna, the ultimate boss killer
I don't know where the range is because it's pitch black and I can't bloody see her.
I have to get through that open bit to the prince's room which is hard enough, and there's six or seven enemies outside the second you get there
Basic units are exp fodder. There's no reason to find ursula other than if you want to kill her, which is not required and Jaffar handles the left side extremely well with his high dodge
>first time playthrough
>FE9 ch. 11
>Split my group up left and one go up
>doing fine as usual
>boss approaches the top bridge against Ike
>soren behind to backup Ike
>All of a sudden Black Knight out of fucking nowhere
>in range with Soren
>kills him in one hit
Anyone ever get a unit who was supposed to be bad, but ended up being good?
I'm clearly doing something very wrong that's not coming across. I'm not trying to find Ursula, I'm trying to get into the prince's room, but that whole area outside is a death trap
Are you saying I should just ignore the whole left side? Florina might be able to go down the right, get the prince and either defend him or rescue him, but every time I get around that point something fucks up, so I might get swarmed anyway if I try that
I'm trying it again now, I'll see how it goes
For some reason I can never get used to playing on an Emulator. It's a weird habit. I have to play it on a legitimate console or handheld for some odd reason. I'm still waiting for them to bring the FE7 and FE8 to the Wii U VC since FE7 is already out there and FE8 is in 2 days there.
Here's how you should do it. Set down a few guys that are very reliable/are good units eg Hector, Raven etc down the left wing to safeguard Jaffar just in case something goes wrong. Then, send your main attacking force down the right wing to join Nino. Destroy everything in the way to get to the prince. He should have killed the one fighter that managed to get into his room. After that, just stand your guard and let your thieves pick up the valuable items, including boots
Ursula's either on the bottom left side of the map or the bottom right (depending on if you're playing hard mode or hector, etc... don't remember exactly). Either way, send a larger force of units towards the prince's room via the side she isn't on. Have another group down the other side so you can rescue/recruit Jaffar and Nino. Bring Matthew if you can for extra view distance if you can.
Basically, approach the prince from the side ursula isn't on. I don't think you'll be in range; she doesn't move.
Alright, thanks. Taking these into account
I don't have any thieves worth anything so I'm trying to beat the enemy one to the chests, at least for the Delphi Shield. That generally goes pretty badly though
Keep going anon, make sure both Jaf and Nino live to access Night of Farewells
Assuming you've only played 13, 8 and 7 are good places to start before moving onto 9,10,6 and 4
Roy is nothing like his glorious and courageous father, and has no commitment. This is shown when Eliwood wields the fuckhueg Durandal with one hand and Roy has to wield the SoS with two
I hated that chapter so fucking much. That Berserk staff never missed.
>no grind playthrough in FE8
>that fucking Deathgoyle that appears
>annihilates all my prepromotes
I had to use Duessel for that map. Shit was annoying to kill
It lacks depth in the combat, but is actually quite deep in the eugenics section. Since that has never really existed in any other FE game aside from 4, it feels like a good breath of fresh air. They really need to bring back shit like Magic triangle and Light Magic though
Eugenics is fundamentally autistic, a lot like competitive Pokemon.
The game is easy enough that you really don't have to waste time meticulously planning that bullshit to kick the game's ass.
Nah, Pinnacle of Light is worse
>Berserk berserk berserk
Maybe you could use Spotpass Micaiah, bust her down to dark mage and run her through it up to sorcerer, which is what you'll probably end it on. She comes as an endgame worthy sage right out of the box.
She comes with Tomefaire, mageline skills and two rallies, and if you end in sorcerer DLC Micaiah's Shadowgift is vestigial. The raw power difference between Sage and Sorcerer is a few points of magic and speed(and obviously the sorcerer's considerably higher defense).
Started out beyond useless, with armor that was like a fucking kleenex. She was OK by the end of the game though.
Fire Emblem is an okay-tier RPG. That's all it'll ever be. Awakening was a step in the right direction, at least.
Though it could also be I'm spoiled after playing greater works, such as Star Ocean: Second Departure, Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei, and Eternal Sonata.
Holy fuck this stage is pissing me off.
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for that village to the right, which I need to spend the first few turns taking Marth over to in order to recruit Bantu and then return, because by the time I've done that the fortresses to the south have started spawning reinforcements and I can't go block them because I can't go near the Mercenaries, I don't think.
Should I just use Rescue to bring Marth over as soon as possible?
>Though it could also be I'm spoiled after playing greater works, Eternal Sonata
You can't be serious, Eternal Sonata's story gets completely stupid about quarter way through and doesn't stop.
You basically want to do the chapter in as few turns as possible, so yeah have a Staff User with Rescue get Marth somewhere near the top of the other bridge.
Bring Gordin as a Cavalier(if you aren't using him) and your dancer and when possible try to recruit Jeorge and have Marth sieze the castle during the same turn,
So I'm playing Radiant Dawn for the first time and holy shit, why is the Dawn Brigade so fucking shit? WHY IS THE MAIN CHARACTER SO BAD? The only units that have been good so far are Sothe, Ilyana, Tauroneo, Jill, Zi- wait a fucking minute, all the characters from Path of Radiance, and Volug I guess, but he just seems so overpowered and I feel like I shouldn't be using him.
Also I've read that this game changes perspectives and shit, so you don't even get to keep your units?
Who the fuck should I be using and who should I be kicking to the curb?
God I've never felt so stressed choosing characters when playing a Fire Emblem game, I always just picked who I liked but now I'm all worried about who's even going to be available to me and I don't know what the fuck
Who thought this was a good fucking idea
This is not a n enjoyable experience
>cramped confined area to move
>middle ship appears 3 turns in with 30+ units
>due to AI, enemies will rush any single dude and kill them
>enemies spawning every turn
>eyes and gargoyles fucking everywhere with ranged weapons that come from where you can't see
>a damn healer appears on the other side of the map with only dozla to protect her requiring you to rush over
>deathgoyle and several gargoyles all with ranged weapons appear fucking behind you
>fog of war to top it all off
That map can be such bullshit
Just keep leveling Micaiah and she'll max some of her stats. Then, use bonus exp to make sure she caps all her stats. Don't bother using new units if you don't want to, you can easily beat the game using only PoR units and the super cheap units when they aren't available.
>play SRW OG games on GBA
>it's better than FE
>find out the rest of the series isn't localized
You should try those out if you like FE
Use Nolan, Edward, aran, that healer chick, and maybe jill. Also sothe and Micaiah, you have to use them anyways. Sothe is good enough, and use Micaiah to thani bomb armors and do staff support.
Ilyana can be used but be aware that she leaves the group before the hardest chapters so don't rely on her too much
no idea, his timezones are sadly so diferent from mine, i have to use his pastebin to catch up.
You get Duessel before that map though, there's barely number of enemies on the map that can actually damage him even on hard mode (those Deathgoyle, Gargoyles, and Magic using eyes).
I like the idea of it a lot but its poorly implemented. The game just needed to be longer and better balanced to accommodate that amount of characters. After damn brigade you get elincia who only has like 5 chapters, although everyone is mostly good so its not as frustrating as Micaiahs section
I refuse to use men in fire emblem games. Any man I get is immediately stripped from his weapons, and never chosen for missions. The only privilege they have is act as meatwalls in the chapters they're recruited in, nothing more.
I think the main problem is that they allocated how strong characters would be mostly based on their role in the story rather than how long you have them available.
So you have characters who can be used in the most chapters like Haar, Ike and co. starting stronger and getting more EXP than everyone else.
Then I won't use him.
Eliwood's route, for example, can be completed without using Eliwood for fighting at all. You're forced to take him with you and seize shit with him, but that's all.
>Not saving the mine glitch for this chapter every playthrough
Yes. Female lords are also the best.
FE7 was quite annoying in some parts. At the start of Eliwood's route the only girl you have is Rebecca. Doing the first chapter without letting anyone die while using only a single archer for attacking wasn't particularly fun.
Finally got it, thanks guys.
Marth couldn't quite reach Jeorge so I had to inch my Warp user forward two tiles and then have Feena dance for her, leaving her in danger from the enemies on the right.
Fortunately Cain managed to tank an attack and survived and I seized the fortress the next turn.
