if only you werent forced to pay 50$ to chinese orb farmers and botters in order to get competetive 6l equipment.
and to think devs said this game will be botters free because of their shitty currency system that is the shittest shit ever
>farm 5000 currency orbs for a year
>use them to craft items
>RNG hates you, you lose all items
Almost all of the designs in this game are fucking amazing.
How is this amazing and not just a huge pile of shit?
I can't even tell anymore what is actual stupidity or mocking. Do you actually believe this is good enemy design or are you mocking Souls? I don't get it.
If you play in the 6 month leagues the race starts over, not to mention if you play in the short or long races as well.
There's nothing that can be done about the farmers they are in every online game with currency ever.
They've also been adding ways of making crafting less devastating if you get unlucky like the eternal orbs. Even in the new patch coming out they are adding ways to add your own modifiers to equipment and tasks to do for these master guys which you can get rep with.
So fuck you can't wait for it.
>Fucking B Team shits.
Yeah, Souls 1 were all so much better. Especially that huge sandbag in The Dephs.
Something's really wrong when you get suspicious that someone is shitposting when they praise a game. I think OP is just trying to piss people off because of how vague the thread topic is.
The idea is good but that image looks like shit.
As far as actual enemy design goes, Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter are excellent at it.
Even if most enemies in DD are classical monsters, the sheer amount of detail and quirks on how to defeat them makes them great.
Fromsoft wishes they could even get close to this level of design.
>The lion head is weak to magic
>The goat head is weak to physical
>the snake is balanced and can be sliced off
>If you disable the snake, the chimera losses balance, starts freaking out and becomes easier to know down
>If you disable the goat head, the chimera becomes full lion and start attacking almost exclusively on pounces
>if you disable the lion head, the chimera starts acting goatlike and gets a back kick attack
>if you disable both, it just hops around doing nothing
>The lion head is weak to magic
>The goat head is weak to physical
>the snake is balanced and can be sliced off
Really deep, mate.
This armor gives me fucking boners.
On PC you can see all the details, it's gorgeous.
feel free to contribute a design that you think is original.
I have to post it.
What is the first example of literature where motherfucking walking skeletons are mentioned?
That shit is like 99 cents, whoever came up with that was the smartest person alive.
>freezing the drake's mouth stops it from breathing fire
>cutting a saurian's tail changes it's behavior on top of lowering defenses
>You can rupture the cockatrice's gas sac as it's charging the petrifying breath
>Eliminators are more vulnerable to knockdown as they are charging
>Goblins panic if you kill the leader
>wolflike enemies stop, drop, and roll when they are burning
>Killing the Gold-Silver knights in different order nets different rewards
it's the little things.
I really loved the Mursaat from GW1 for some reason. Maybe because they were so mysterious and had a skill that blow up your party in 2 seconds if you didn't get infused armour.
While I'm sure Dragon's Dogma has it's fair share of great things, I really don't think "original designs" is one of them. The way you fight the chimera might be interesting, but "some parts of the body take more damage from different types of attacks" has been a thing for a long while, and enemies changing behavior depending on limb damage has been a thing since limb damage has been thing.
This of course not even talking about the actual art design of the enemy, which is the point of thread, since Demon of Song is a pretty original design but his fight is shit.
Mirror Knight really looks badass, checking the others now. I have the first dark souls on Steam but didn't touch it, I'm waiting until I buy a xbox controller to play it.
She is an ant queen. With a human body attached to an ant body for some reason.
motha fukkin shaman king
also maybe a ninja considering the scroll
The Choking Hand or Hand from Hell from Blood always scared the shit out of me as a kid.
>"They are small disembodied hands that attack by leaping up and choking the player until he asphyxiates."
That's not a demon, that's a Persona.
FOOLISH UNDEAD! YOU DARE ENTER THE DOMAIN OF THE GENERIC LARGE FIRE DEMON; THE LEADER OF GENERIC LAVA CASTLE
QUAKE IN FEAR AS I SLOWLY RAISE MY FISTS FOR THE BASIC SLAM ATTACK AND JUST TRY ATTACKING ME AS A REMAIN PERFECTLY MOTIONLESS WITH MY HAND IN FRONT OF YOU FOR 30 SECONDS
DON'T SHIT YOUR DRANGLEIC LEGGINGS JUST YET FOR I HAVE ANOTHER ATTACK WHERE I DO AN INCREDIBLY TELEGRAPHED SWIPE ATTACK BEFORE THE FIST SLAM! YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT COMING AS I SLOWLY MOVE MY ARM INTO POSITION TO THE SIDE OF THE PLATFORM
BEHOLD MY SECRET WEAPON! I WILL SLOWLY TURN MY HEAD WHILE BREATHING FIRE STARTING FROM THE OPPOSITE END OF THE PLATFORM FROM YOUR CURRENT LOCATION! YOU WILL NEVER THINK OF CASUALLY WALKING TO THE ONE OBVIOUS SAFE SPOT ON THE SIDE OF THE ARENA
NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU? IF YOU HAPPEN TO SURVIVE MY GRUELLING ONSLAUGHT OF RELENTLESS ATTACKS THEN I WILL HAVE TO BRING OUT THE BIGGER GUNS! I WILL SEND OUT A JET OF FLAME IN A STRAIGHT LINE WITH MY HEAD WELL WITHIN STRIKING RANGE OF YOUR SWORD! BEHOLD MY INTIMIDATING PERSEVERANCE AS I WILL CONTINUE TO BREATH FIRE AS YOU STAND TO MY SIDE BEATING MY HEAD SENSELESS
very interesting indeed
this one you can have as a pet even
terraria in 3d would be the best thing in the whole world.
Minecraft has no magic to it. Enemies are shit and the design of everything sucks. Meanwhile you have all this fucked up shit and godly weapons of doom in Terraria that make you love the game a lot more.
Well, as long as we're enabling a waifufag, might as well tell him about the little girl partners that alchemists can get. Almost useless, by the by.
The official server is still up, in classic and modern flavors, and there's tons of private servers. Most would suggest private servers for dicking around and also they're afraid to play official.
Here's a fun little game: count all the different prehensile tongues growing from his various spore-filled growths and tumors.
Pretty much. Y-17 trauma harnesses have all the originality of the skeletons from Jason & The Argonauts, mixed in with a liberal interpretation of the pilot zombies from Heavy Metal. Oh, wait, except THIS TIME they've got lasers and machine guns!
I'm not sure where to even begin. I suppose the best advice would be to start by making a character that'll change jobs to acolyte, for healing and teleports.
Also, changing jobs is one-way; once you go aco, you really only have two options for much later. You have multiple character slots, though.
to whoever shares this IP and keeps getting us banned on /sp/
i'll stop getting banned when you do
It's a korean MMO, which means grinding permeates the game: leveling, getting better equipment, dropping cards. You won't have a great time unless you leave those goals on the back of your head and just explore the world and all the dungeons with friends. You can go on a high-rate server, which means the grinding is much less severe than in official servers, if you just want some casual fun.
Overall the game has an incredible attribute/skill/class/item system that offers great customization with plenty of viable builds and playstyles. The War of the Emperium (think castle siege pvp) is unmatched to this day as one of the greatest PvP experiences I've ever had, but only in official servers, since they were much more competitive to my experience. The art assets and music are the top notch part of the game though, it really makes the game stand out among other MMO's.
If you play RO and find it interesting, stay tuned for the spiritual sucessor in the works right now: Tree of Savior.
Also a piece of the OST:
hell yeah i love oddworld monsters.
>absurdly well-funded government research team makes a suit of armor that is somehow as defensive as fucking T-45d power armor while looking like a generic space suit and can become autonomous
>absurdly well-funded government also makes it capable of learning from its wearer, meaning it can operate complex weapons
>absurdly well-funded government completely fails to put in any safety features to disable the onboard super-AI in this ultimate armor
>people wearing it decide to pick up weapons and die while standing around the testing area, the onboard AI turns on
>onboard AI starts killing people
The harness suit goes autopilot when the wearer suffers enough injuries, but programming oversights essentially made them walking berserk coffins that learned how to imitate the wearer's movements.
This guy actually gave me more trouble than any other boss in DaS2. This fucker knocked me into the lava every time, mostly when he only had a pinch of health left.
I remember one time I tried fighting him with a phantom, we had him down to a sliver of health, and he managed to knock me into the lava just as my phantom finished him off. I don't think I'd ever been that frustrated over a video game in a long time.
Say what you want about Mabinogi, they did one thing right. They designed this guy.
Can't beat crooked mexican santa when it comes to originality.
guess what's moving inside the sack
I don't want to get into that discussion; let's just agree to disagree.
I played the game for about five years starting at G3 release, and I pretty much quit because it just became so shitty
Okami had both great art style and original character designs.
I do. I also remember when FPS's had interesting enemies that all did almost the same exact thing. I prefer my games to have thematically-similar but distinct enemies.
I agree with that, Iria was a great addition. But sometime after that it went down the shitter.
Honestly, people abusing certain skills was part of it. I remember when the whole meta was to max out Windmill and have 10 people use it to cheese everything.
Also the whole European Mabi debacle. I'll never forgive them for that.
>tfw making it punch itself in the face and making it punch the guy controlling it
Every single brother could go in this thread.
Necromorphs in general
Dead Space 3 doesn't exists
I like the first one more because of the challenge towers, and that every fight felt heavy like it would was boss fight, especially when there was a heavy, OR when you really were fighting with a boss.
>the Corwids of the Free do what they want, whenever they want
>all of them spontaneously decide at the same time that they want a piece of Ghat
>EXCEPT the bro that just wants to go in one direction
>The big one wanted piece of ghat because he eats humans.
>The crow one wanted a piece of ghat because he wanted to be invisible, but he couldn't so he would want to pluck out the eyes that everyone he came across.
>The female one attack you in the cage because she wanted to be let getting eaten, and since you wanted to break out, she attacked you.
There were several normal goons whose agressiveness was unexplained, but i'm sure that they could explain them too.
most of the Bayonetta enemies/bosses looked pretty neat
Scratch that, it was an SMT game.
No, overwatch only triggers if you move more than one tile while in range of the enemy. He could have moved one of his men around the heavy cover car, since heavy cover offers visual concealment, and he probably would have had vision of the cyber disk from there. If not, next turn he could have moved one tile around the cover until the cyber disk was visible.
My nigga. Dragoon had some great boss designs.
Well, yes, but all of this assumes that he knew it was there. For all we knew, he thought the 'disk was on the other side of the car. And then the disk gets a free movement turn after you've inched your way along - so you're fucked either way.
