I just got back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy and Im in the mood for some space exploration games with aliens. What are some good ones?
>I just got back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy
Should I just start shitting on this now? Because I get the feeling you're going to be going on about this like Whedonites forever.
Don't follow guides, if you don't know what to do, buy Melnorme's information.
There are mods to stop the time limit.
The UI is the worst I've ever seen of any game, the combat is bad, you need a lot of third party programs to plan out your character, the economy is entirely controlled by jews
>in after "well I'm used to the UI"
>well that's just min/maxing!!!!
>well what game isn't controlled by the jews?
It's just a complex sandbox mmo. Most people play the trial and quit because it isn't just an action-based gear treadmill. It probably isn't the kind of game you're looking for, though.
If you want to stop the time limit, to explore shit.
If you are a graphic whore, It aso have the stop time limit option.
This game need savewhoring, a lot.
Ftl: Faster than Light. Space exploring alien thing with rouge-like elements. Also has a god tier soundtrack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiXWfxHHdAU
Stop trying to get my thread deleted.
Thats two people recommending FTL, so I guess Ill look into it.
Unless something has changed since I played it last, it's awfully hard to get into the exploration side of thing due to the time constraint.
Fun game though, would love to see it expanded. Like a lot.
Technically. The plot is that you're the remnants of the Federation and have to escape the human-supremacist rebel uprising before they catch up to you. The "time limit" is basically how many jumps from station to station you can make before the Rebel "wall" makes it impossible to progress without getting in a hard-to-win fight.
Thanks for being part of the reason studios unendingly churn out awful capeshit movies you manchild.
Even with the time constraint it always manages to feel like a living, breathing world to me that tons of fun to muck around in. Even if its not compleatly open, the feeling of discovery remains. Also I think there is a mod to remove the rebel fleet somewhere
>Getting mad over good movies
I bet you get mad at people who like Pacific Rim
Also I think Ive got enough recommendations to keep me occupied now. You can let the thread die. Or talk about fucking Rocket until a mod deletes the thread, I dont care.
I actually do it so that I have my favorite images at the top of the folder to easily find
Hope you enjoy the games OP
Peter looks like the Warlocks from Destiny
It's stalker but Sci Fi and in space and multiple planets and tons of shit
go from deserts to forests to jungles with tree top people tons of difference races crazy russians make the best games man
NONE knows how to draw raccoon even the OFFICIAL art is inconsistent as fucking shit about his looks. Seriously, it's like sometimes he's a cat-rat others a squirrel and somedays a weaver.
Fanart in general has that problem, furry fanart tends to get it worse. It's all "muh style" and circlejerking, so any attempts to better oneself and reflect the actual source is met with indifference more often than not.
There's modifications so that the federation fleet doesn't exist.
Play FTL op. Great game. Many people complain about the RNG but they're scrubs. There's ways to prepare for each and every event.
You mean this isnt what raccoons look like?
I should try one of those out myself.
But yes, op, definitely play it, don't be scared off by the timer. It's still a great game and I don't intend to suggest otherwise with my complaints.
Style means nothing if I can't tell your generic raccoon doughnut steel furry is supposed to be Rocket. Then again that may be hard with how inconsistent the furry guy is in the comics. Granted it's probably safe to assume all attempts at him from here out are using the movie as reference.
Of course not. They hate fun.
For half /tv/ it's mainstream shit an way "below their standards". For the other half, it's a movie that didn't spawn any meme like the "For you" shit, so it's worth nothing.
>Went to go see it with my dad
>Our faces when the beginning
His mom is dying of cancer.
Im more concerned about the art. Comics are allowed to have silly writing.
The new ones have acceptable art, at least.
Guardians of The Galaxy is basically the Mass Effect movie.
Except I actually liked it from start to end, unlike Mass Effect.
Guardians of the Galaxy made me feel how Star Wars was supposed to make me feel and I just want to consume everything relating to it and the overall MCU.
I always enjoy the thought of what nerds 20 years ago would think if they were told they would get to see the MCU exist.
And Mass Effect is like a shitty Star Control II.
Eh, Gaurdians had way more heart in it than 90% of sci fi out there, but it had way too much humor that fell flat for me to call it a classic on that level. I'd put it on the level of men in black maybe.
I don't think there was anything wrong with the humor. Obviously it was as basic as it gets and a lot of it, I'm sure, was meant as something to smile at rather than laugh. But some of it was pretty funny. They even did that cum stain joke.
I think calling 2 a masterpiece is stretching it a bit.
....because the first one plays like ass? Like... i like it... but it is not a good shooter at all. And i don't even play a lot of shooters, and i could tell it wasn't a great one. Say what you will about the series, but the combat mechanics improved from the first one.
The core "game" still centered around the combat mechanics, which were REALLY not very good. Mass Effect 1 is a fine game, but the combat and classes were VASTLY inferior to Mass Effect 2's.
If the missions weren't obscenely short and easy in ME2 I'd potentially agree. As-is the first few missions I legitimately thought my game had some kind of bug that prematurely triggered the end cutscene before I realized I was going to be able to pretty much blitz through every linear corridor 'level' in about ten minutes.
Apparently it's Reddit: The Movie, which makes no fucking sense with a Hollywood that gladly churns out endless examples of something vaguely memorable and entertaining being overplayed and outstretched to nauseatingly obnoxious levels
Yes, it was a corridor shooter, but the first one was not much different either- the entire series was. Also, levels had varied length. The mechanics were improved regardless. Classes were more fleshed out and were their most unique in the entire series. If you had feelings on the difficulty, you could always increase it.
I'm not sure. I went in open minded but unsure and came out having felt a sense of 'fun' that movies rarely do for me.
I don't know at what point it got to me, but it sure did.
Maybe the movie will remind people what raccoons look like.
>2 is a masterpiece.
It's a decent game at best.
I don't know why Marvel decided to bring the writter fo Lillipop Chainsaw for this movie, but Gunn made an amazing job.
Plus the ending with Quill dancing like Kevin Bacon in front of the main villian was fucking amazing
>groot takes two hours to grow because he's pissed at rocket for apparently selling most of his body
>all those sound effects
I found my monthly dose of 2008 cosmic.
Nigger, that's like saying
>well yeah, it's a manga, most manga aren't that good
It's a wide fucking industry dude, it's like saying books aren't good.
Pic related, judging by the threads this is /tv/'s favorite film.
Would you want to explore the galaxy with a gun blasting raccoon as your sidekick?
I wouldn't call 2 a masterpiece, but I did enjoy it more than the first game.
The only good part of ME1 was the main story, everything else was mostly copy-pasted shit, and the planet exploration although fun at first, quickly became a, okay I need to go get these things over here.
2 was really great because everything was well polished, and most areas in the game, including sides missions had their own uniqueness to them and felt different from one another.
I was disappointed, even if it may have been to stay true with the comics or some shit, that a bunch of the aliens were just literally just humans but colored differently.
probably around the prison.
I love groups made up of people from all over.
I also fucking loved all the environments and shit.
Knowhere looked downright fucking cool and I liked the whole ancient architecture feeling the enemy ship had.
I did find the main planet to look pretty stupid when they do the initial zoom in on the pier thing and it's 90% bridges
Proles, the lots of you.
Do you have something to tell us, anon?
unfortunately I'm out of cute pictures of him to post, so here have an actual raccoon
Could always browse
Consortium might be something you're looking for, though your interactions are limited to the ship.
that's where I got all the ones I just posted I change the filenames so people don't yell at me
>I always enjoy the thought of what nerds 20 years ago would think if they were told they would get to see the MCU exist.
Hell, I keep thinking these things for all kinds of shit. For vidya, too.
It's a chin strap, not on his neck.
This is a neck beard.
That so reminds me of the images from the Stargate SG-1 game that was in development hell like forever and then died. I'm still kind of bitter about that so 'Precursors' looks like it could be the game that I want that never was. Thanks, anon.
That's not a neckbeard either, at least not in the way it's used as an insult.
THIS is a neckbeard. Notice the fag has almost no hair on his face.
>you will never be an eccentric, rich movie star who has enough money to pay people to make your autistic fantasies into videogames
Rocket>Groot>Big Dick Dave>Chris Pratt>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Green Bitch
To be fair, the Vin Diesel character fit the Riddick games since Riddick is him, and that the wheelman game was supposed to have a movie release with Vin Diesel playing his characters.
Whether Melkor will be him is to see.
Can't blame the guy for liking himself, he's a goddamn cool dude.
It's a scene after the credits end where
we cut back to the Collector's place where he lays in the destruction as Cosmo comes over to lick his face and then Howard the Duck comments on itso it's funny but it isn't foreshadowing
looking for some pics that could make awesome poster for my battlestation
I'm in the UK and I know who he is...
