What do you regret having bought?
I really, really, really want to sell my WiiU.
Only good 4-player game on PS3 is Crash team racing
Duke nukem forever collectors edition.
These are my 3 biggest regrets last gen. Anything else fails in comparison. 1 Shit game and two middle of the road empty feeling games.
In the past month I re-subbed to WoW, bought FFXIV and Archeage.
Paid full retail for both.
I don't think I will ever experience this kind of buyer's remorse again.
I bought a bunch of Playstation Move games when the PSMove came out
Playstation Move Heroes was the worst fucking thing ever, it was barely an actual game at all, it was just bait to buy the PSMove.
Not a lot, anything I have regretted I was able to return without hassle (with a receipt of course).
The last thing I can recall was Rage, which I returned to the store within about an hour. I don't buy games on a whim anymore.
Fable 2 and 3.
>Miss all hype for Fable, love the shit out of it.
>Fable 2 announced, hype as fuck, Follow it.
>Get burned, becuase it's shit. Wont follow hype again.
>Fable 3 announced, hope they learned from 2, but ignore all news.
>Pre order it.
i play mine.
but i just got done with lego city undercover, only got it 50% complete, i ain't going trough the autistic process of getting all those gold bricks to 100% it.
i got 13 other games, and i've completed 4 of them.
I still got more to play, and 5 more pre-ordered (2 which arrive next month)
>be a young idiot
>buy Conkers Bad Fur Day for £60 with no knowledge of the game
>literally just see "Rare" and cartoony platforming and throw money at it
>mind fucking BLOWN
>be older but not old enough to escape idiocy
>see a game I never heard of called Viewtiful Joe has just come out
>throw full price bongdollars at it because I share the same name as the protagonist
>loved the shit out of it
Upgrading my rig to play Battlefield 4. Ontop of BF4 being pretty bad I dont play enough modern games to warrant having a good PC to begin with. The last game I bought and played was Dragond Dogma:DA I dont think Im going to upgrade anymore or buy another console, Im done.
It's pretty shit in the state it is right now and will likely continue to be shit even after they add all that online connectivity junk. It looks cute but it's pretty much a farmville-esque waiting simulator that costs 20 bucks.
I don't think anyone has any idea what is up with that guy. The "game" has been out for a year and still doesn't have online connectivity and procedurally generated worlds.
Duke Nukem Forever
Gratuitous Space Battles (even though it was 2 dollars at the time)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Monday Night Combat (enjoyed it, but multiplayer died quickly)
Lead and Gold (enjoyed it, but multiplayer died quickly)
Shattered Horizon (enjoyed it, but multiplayer died quickly)
I know that feel
I mostly play on my Wii U these days
>tfw it got released in europe like a week later
>tfw the demo was aviable during that time
>tfw i cancled my pre-order on steam immeadetly after trying out the demo
>tfw i pre ordered Witcher 2 instead
>Sniper: Ghost Warrior
>Duke Nukem: Forever
>Deadly Premonition: Directors cut
Like seriously, what the fuck. I bought it for $5 and installed it on Steam and it always crashed on start-up. Then I come to find out it was a PS3 port. Fuck you Sony.
the witcher 1
Zelda Ocarina of time
the 4 heroes of light
KH dream drop distance
Legend of Grimrock
Natural Selection 2
It did have the best looking Cortana though.
My 3DS, thank god is a present of my sis.
I only have two games and I want to have more but I'm not okay paying more than 20 bucks for each.
Someday it will be pirateable, so I'll keep for now.
Good with friends
Better with friends
Better with friends
no idea, better with friends?
Wait what, this is b8
>Team Fortress 2
>First 2 stalker games (worst PC games I have ever played)
I'll never forget the look on my friend's faces the first time we played Brawl on release. That sinking feeling in our stomachs when we realized just how shit the game was, I had never been so disappointed in a video game until that day. I'm never buying anything from nintendo again.
>Think I'm going to get blu rays
>End up getting better internet and just downloading shows instead of playing a bunch for a boxed set
>Think I'm going to play my PS2 games on it
>Backwards compatability is removed and I end up just using an emu instead
>Think "Well at least I can install CFW
>Accidentally patched it to too high a firm ware
>Don't want to sell it
>Each year it dropped in value and gathered more dust
And that's when I stopped buying consoles even a year or two after launch.
Controls're like it's on ice, unclear objectives, really fucking strange bugs, suicidal AI
In one flying section early in I kept getting oneshotted by enemy pilots ramming me.
It's full of great ideas, though. Too bad the implementation really kills it all.
It was either this or Dragon Quest 8. I fucked up real hard.
Sega Genesis with Sonic 1 for 10.65 dollars.
It works, but it was probably owned by a bad kid who didn't care about his stuff. I have to play with the cable for almost a minute to get picture and sound working.
Animal Crossing New Leaf.
I fully aware that other people like it but it was simply not for me.
Also probably a bunch of PS3 games, and while I haven't "bought" some games for the PSP, I still feel ripped off and violated.
Oh man! DQ8 is fun as fuck and you had to settle on Shadow the Edgehog
got an xbox one for 35% off
because i worked for microsoftand i really want to sell the damn thing. i could easily sell it with the few games i have for $450 and if i have the urge to later on, i could get a kinectless bundle.
>buy picture related
>thought its an alright game
>6 months later
>finally have room for my SNES
>first game to replay is Yoshi's Island
>2 hours in
>loving the fuck out of it and instantly have buyer's remorse of picture related
I never really liked Sonic that much but I bought into the hype over it anyway thinking it might actually be really cool, but surprise surprise it's no fucking different than the others and I still hated it.
>DaS2 on PS3 and PC
I bought a 360, played Halo 3 for about two hours, and then packed the console away because I hated everything about the system and the game.
I bought a Wii, played Twilight Princess up until the wrestling thing with the faggot Goron, and decided that I didn't want to touch something with such shitty frustrating controls. Ended up giving it to my mother so that she could play Wii Fit with it.
I bought a PS3, modded it so that it could play pirated games, and never actually got down to playing anything on it because it was such a hassle to do. It's still sat on my desk, gathering fucking dust.
I bought a 3DS, played FE:A for about three days straight, but never reached the ending because I burnt myself out on grinding and eugenics. Haven't touched it since.
I bought a Vita, tried playing Disgaea 3 but I couldn't play for more than an hour without getting pissed at the rear pad and how unergonomic the whole system is. Wound up putting it inside a heavily packed box and strapping some helium-filled balloons to it, fuck knows where it is now.
I bought a whole bunch of games on Steam in the past few years but the only games I've actually played and enjoyed were dirt cheap Japanese doujin games. I nearly threw up when I used that "How much is your steam account worth" website, I honestly couldn't believe just how much I've wasted on shitty PC games that I'll never actually play.
i'll take it
what's it worth to you, OP?
>You're a retarded spoiled little bitch.
I didn't get shit as a kid, and I appreciated everything my parents did for me. The shit I'm complaining about I bought and earned for myself. Eat shit, you jealous fucking dork.
>friend convinced me to buy starbound
I told him yesterday that I'll never forgive him for it.
I respect your opinion and all but holy fucking fuck nigger, are you high?
I played based off the demo, I wanted it but never bought it until it was like 16 years later. I bought it and it was awesome, enjoyed every bit of it. But 6 hours for $60 wouldn't be worth it so I can hear where you are coming from.
I have a tendency of buying games RIGHT BEFORE improved ports or huge price-drops hit. As far as "I wish I could've stopped myself from even touching this" hatred is concerned, either Other M or Blue Dragon.
>bought FFXIV, resubbbed WoW and bought a Wii, a 500gb PS3 and a 3DS within the last 2 months
I regret buying the 3ds, I have big hands and it is uncomfortable and the resolution is horrible
there is no image that sums up how much of a faggot you are
I personalyl didnt regret buying it even though I didnt really like it, it was an MMO that didnt have a sub fee or a P2W cash shop. Could bounce on at any time.
Who am I kidding. The GW1 system is lost forever, I hate GW2 for this.
I pre ordered the digital deluxe edition.
> why did I do that
I played all three on release, Fable was the best one. 2 was forgettable, All I remember is lucien and the dog taking the bullet. 3 had better gameplay then all the others, despite not having the cool legendary weapons. 3 was better than 2 by a long shot, it was basically the same game with better gameplay and customization.
I bought it for the single player.
No regrets, have a PC worth over 1000 buckaroo's and can handle anything, I buy multiplayer titles I think I might enjoy after watching a few videos and simply pirate singleplayer titles, than if I enjoy them buy them. Why not give poor ass developers your money who create stuff you enjoy I think, I have enough money and I'd rather give a low sum to them instead of wasting it all partying / drinking waiting until I get korsakov. I've come to learn that vidya is better for the wallet if you just own a PC, I couldn't fix my PS3 / Xbox which both fucking died in a time period no less than 3 years, always kept them clean and took care of 'em, my ps2 still bloody works far after a decade, but hey that's a console for you.
Also every game costs $60 on the console platform, it's ridiculous. Not being able to play a few titles isn't enough reason to throw hundreds of dollars in the water either while a PC is a sure investment for the 6 years.
And not because it's bad or anything, I do enjoy it, it's just that I grew up on handhelds, love handhelds, and while I love my WiiU, my 3ds will just always get priority.
The WiiU was my first console experience since NES SNES. I wasn't disappoint, I'm just conditioned for handhelds.
I did the same shit, upgraded from an i3-530 + GT 320 when I mostly play low-demanding games.
Not that I give a shit, it's nice to be able to play the occasional demanding game, plus I don't feel any incentive to upgrade till my parts burn out.
3's gameplay was hardly different from all the others. At least, not enough for it to be very well worth mentioning.
Even then, it had the absolute worst quests, worst towns and villages, worst graphics, worst designs, worst world in general, worst story, and it was an example in How Not to Make a Tutorial.
>Wound up putting it inside a heavily packed box and strapping some helium-filled balloons to it, fuck knows where it is now.
I'm currently playing Earthbound, Unepic, and Wonderful 101 on my gamepad while I sit here and wonder why others aren't doing the same. Nintendo has it together lately, and you're all a bunch of faggots.
If you own a nintendo system smash is pretty much the second coming of gaming for every console. Plus hyrule warriors, the new zelda, bayonetta 2, mario kart 8, and xenoblade x.
>buying a bethesda game
only reason i have oblivion or arena is because they're easy to pirate. also got nosteam skyrim, but my toaster really likes to play at 15fps. I need a better laptop at least
Absolutely beautiful! Not every AAA and sleeper hit appeals to every single gamer, nor should they.
You suffer from extreme ADHD.
The cool part about ADHD is that if you KEEP everything you become sick of, you will eventually develop a sudden interest in it later on, and have FUN.
Shantae Risky's Revenge (that's the second one, right?)
Damn, the level design is so damn dull. The music and graphics are pretty good (even though the text boxes are screaming for a graphic designer to look less dull) but it was so damn boring. I want my money back, /v/.
For that matter is Mighty Switch Force fun or it's as dull design wise?
3 was much more fluid. I can't even remember enough of 2 to talk about it, but only remember that the daichi was the only decent looking weapon in the game. And spells weren't even worth using.
Fable had a bit different gameplay than the other two, 2 and 3 was the same except 3 was better.
All the rest of your complaints are unfounded and biased. Noone thinks fable 2 is better than anything. I was the worst one.
Ac3 is good though. better than the side story games at least. People who hate on Conner are stupid. America was founded by free masons and they have ties with the templars. for most of the game, he is one Assassin in a sea of templars and red coats. He doesn't do certain things in the story because of how easily it would be to get caught. Hated the ships in 4, IMHO 2>3>1>4>spinoffs.
I just didn't like it.
>Far Cry 3
Atleast Blood Dragon was radical.
>Starcraft 2: WoL
Bought it at midnight launch for the custom maps potential, all I got was WC3 ports and half-assed map making support. Atleast it has some of the most enjoyable RTS campaign I've ever played. Still felt ripped off though.
Fucking devs abandoning their games as they find themselves in a stable financial situation...
>Wario Land: Shake It!
WL4 rehash with waggle gimmicks. Whoopedidoo.
I don't mind it in certain games (i.e. Super Mario Galaxy) but sometimes it feels tacked-on and just plain gimmicky.
If it doesn't compliment the action being done, it just doesn't feel right. Which is why SMG did it right.
>Notice how cheap the games are on Amazon
>Starter kit is $48
>Doesn't include the charger or a true navigational controller, which are sold separately for $9.59 and $14.89
It's still a massive scam.
This fucking pile of shit. The back cover promised so much but it's so fucking shit, everything from the characters to the backgrounds to the combat is all utter shit
It's what /v/ calls a troll.
I'll admit, all of those games do have massively annoying flaws. Yet they are also so old that most people have mentioned the downsides numerous times.
Murdered: Soul Suspect
I beat the game half-asleep for most of it. No joke. After I was done with the story, I had to restart the whole game just to collect everything else I missed.
I traded in for two games at gamestop so it wasn't all bad.
I used to be such a fan of oddworld that when I heard the first info about Munch's oddysee I went out and got my first job just to pay for it.
I followed a lot of info about through magazines but dropped of reading about it for a brief period before it's release.
I brought it day one.
The effects of that decision and thought process has haunted me to the point that I can't bring myself to buy games on release and I have to take steps to make sure I don't spoil games for myself while checking reviews to see if it's worth buying.
Even steam sales haven't brought me as much regret as that game alone has.
>now it starts getting games!
no it fucking doesn't . sonygger pretending vita has games incoming
I regret buying a 3DS. /v/ told me the games were good and I believed them. To be fair the WRPGs people recommend on here are pretty good and some overall positively discussed games are also great. But when it comes to the 3DS /v/ just has fucking shittaste.
I was thinking about getting one soon. Is it really that bad? I wasn't sure if I would rather get a Vita or a 3DS.
How are FE:A and Pokemon X & Y? I played Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones and my favorite pokemon game was Pokemon Black.
>want to catch up on old Wii games
>look up Xenoblade and Pandora's Tower online
>50 FUCKING QUID EACH
I bought parts to build a $2000 4chan shitposting machine.
I still can't fucking believe that I bought Skyrim at full price.
I tried playing it, I really did, but it's the most boring brown and grey walking simulator I've ever played.
My younger siblings make fun of me because of it, and it's been nearly 3 years.
I did. And it's still a shit game.
The only thing that helped was the stats and old character creation mod, but that's still not saving it.
>tfw /v/ says nothing but negative things about the game
>tfw it's already shipped
Ah well, I have a Wii-U, so I am used to children's games.
