>two handed swords are swung like they are 100lbs tree trunks
It's hilarious. It takes way more strength to properly wield a rapier than a bastard sword. Yet, you always see the big strong guy using the two-hander and some skinny little girl with the rapier.
>Oversized weapons that weigh more than any human would ever wield is tossed around like a foam toy
I'd rather have exaggerated realism for a believable atmosphere than full retard tier weebshit.
No. Rapiers are made with the same amount of steel as a longsword. It's just extended into a longer, thinner blade. For that reason, they're not as well balanced, and there's no reasonable way to grip it with a second hand. So you need a fair bit of arm and shoulder strength to wield it properly.
You're thinking of fencing foils, which are light as fuck and have very little resemblance to a real dueling rapier.
Except in anime and weeb games it's the opposite.
The little girl effortlessly swings a two handed weapon because she's a 0382107-892370 year old dragon that only LOOKS like she's 8 years old.
Longswords and rapiers have generally similar weights.
It takes as much if not more strength to wield a rapier compared to a longsword not because its unbalanced, but because of how the rapier is wielded. The user's arm is extended far more and their body on a whole is more spread out. It's a lot easier to hold the same piece of metal closer to your body and swing it around than it is to have it an arm's reach away and swing it around.
2-3 kilos being the maximum weight. The average weight being 1.5-2 kilos.
Now, a fully grown man back in those days of manual labour, holding out 1.5 kilos with a bent arm is literally nothing.
>not being so old your age has hyphens
Do you even everloli?
Bonus points if the bitch looks physically prepubescent. Fucking Japan.
You tell me. What is easier? Slashing and swinging a broadsword (Longswords were heavier than 1.5 kilos) or thrusting a blade with a nice sized handle mostly using the power of your legs for momentum.
Technically, you're correct, but come on. The point that guy was making still stands. I see a broad with no muscle mass and I'm supposed to believe she can draw a longbow?
It's funny how people stumble on the little things when it comes to realism. Firebreathing dragons, and men shooting ice out of their hands are fine, but god forbid a weakling drawing a bow.
>Around 1000 years old
If she and I fucked, does that make me a pedophile, or her?
tfw There are still people in this day in age who don't know how to handle a sword.
I know, I just think it's funny.
A few years ago we discussed the Odyssey in class, and my teacher mentioned that it was unrealistic how long Odysseus' dog lived. Then a student said that this was a story with cyclopses, sirens and greek Gods, which weren't particulary realistic, and yet it was the dog's age that made the teacher react.
