Why didn't I listen to you, /v/? You warned me about the tutorials, but I thought it wouldn't be that bad. When does it end?
So, when will they let you switch between playing as Mario or Luigi on the overworld like in Superstar Saga?
I wasn't being serious. Can't you read the fucking picture?
On the subject of Partners in Time, I'm actually on the final area right now. Only M&L game I have yet to complete
Popple being in DT means Wario & Waluigi in M&L5, it's happening
>You will never see Bros. Moves again
>You will never get level ups for your special moves like in SSS again
>You will never be able to switch between Mario and Luigi in the overworld again
>You will never go to a fun kingdom like BeanBean Kingdom ever again
How they knock it out of the park inone game and just completely miss the point in the following games?
Wow. You really do have brain problems eh?
First you take a facetious statement and read into literally, and then you misunderstand a clear explanation of the situation as me pretending to be a troll?
Step back and examine the situation.
You're a retard
I got it the other day and made it to the end, didn't feel like grinding to beat Dreamy Bowser so I just kinda stopped playing, maybe I'll beat it soon.
Honestly, the game kind of feels slow for a Mario and Luigi game, there are tutorials fucking everywhere, Dream World battles are a total drag, and the platforming sections just feel tacked on, and really, less enjoyable than Bowser's Inside Story.
Still, the Boss Music is the best in the series, the Giant Battles are super great, and the throwbacks to the last couple games are pretty sweet. I'd say it's the worst in the series, but that isn't saying much, it's still a good game, just maybe not $35 good.
Fuck the battle achievements, it flares up my OCD trying to beat them and I begin to enjoy the game a whole lot less.
>You're all too casual to do the baby enhanced attacks.
Yes, I am.
The game had way more problems than that though.
>implying M&L1 had handholding
I don't think I'll ever recover from the horrific disappointment of M&L2.
I think that was the first game sequel I ever felt seriously burned by. Oh, except maybe Lego Island 2.
>mfw the final boss took three goddamn hours
I don't know you guys, I absolutely love these games but I'd say PiT isn't that bad. Sure, it's obviously not as good as SSS or BiS but's definitely a good enough game to stand in its own right.
I'll never be okay.
I live in a world where people like Ico
I live in a world where people hate on Dark Souls 2 for faults you can find in every souls game
I live in a world where PiT is the least beloved Mario and Luigi RPG
>Still talking shit about Partners in Time
Had the best writing and the best plot and best villain
Cackletta died half way
Fawful is way too silly to be taken seriously
Antasma had arguably the best concept except he did fucking nothing, he just wanted to be free and personally wanted to be Bowser's Lacky
>a followup game has to surpass it's predecessor.
This is your first mistake. It would only ahve to do that if it was a directly followup with very little mechanical growth or changes. Like... Tales of Xillia 1 compared to 2
but PiT added the time traveling, changed up the combat and tried a totally different tone for the story and setting. If you enjoyed the changes it made to a sufficient degree... it's a good sequel.
Official Mario and Luigi Wiggler fight Tier List

Partners in Time
Will I be disappointed with this game as much as I was with Sticker Star? I just beaten Sticker Star, and I need something to get that bad taste in my mouth.
Personally, it doesn't have to surpass its sequels, or even be equal, it just has to be a decent game in its own right.
Which if you ask me PiT wasn't in the least bit.
Oh fuck no
Compared to Sticker Star, Dream Team is fucking heaven, its still a Mario and Luigi game
Dream Team isnt bad anon, literally the only thing wrong with it is the amount of tutorials, the game is still hard as shit despite the handholding
How do you guys not have fun playing Sticker Star? It's a fun game. If you're playing it in 2014, you should be fully aware of what kind of game it is and what to expect out of it so if you don't think you're going to enjoy it, why play it?
It's not that point, but I don't like to be treated like a retard.
>Oh look, a new Luigi icon! I bet I gotta use that now
>Suddendly "OH GEEZ LOOKS GUYS, A NEW ICON, I BET IF YOU PRESS R, THEN B, LUIGI COULD DO SOMETHING AMAZING, WHY NOT PRESS R NOW AND THEN B SO YOU CAN DO SOMETHING AMAZING NOW?"
And that's not the main problem, the problem is they remind you how use the powers every now and then. It was hilarious how the first badge shop didn't teach you anything but there's a full blown tutorial in the second shop, and guess what, at that point, I've already bought all the badges from the first store and used them several times.
The game still good, the giant battles are fun, the music is great, the spritework is quality at its finest, the new guys looks interesting and everything looks congruent, but guess what, it can be a bit irritating when the game think you're retarded.
Still better than PiT.
No anon, you will not be.
Dream Team is good, damn good, but the game treats you as an alzheimers patient when you are in the dreamworld and you get tutorials out the ass.
It's still very good, with some of the best level music in the series.
I like Dream Team more than Bowser's Inside Story just because I don't have to play as or walk around in that fat hunk of shit Bowser.
That slab of beefshit made the game world flat and boring, it was horrible, especially when you went back as Mario and Luigi.
Also Fawful wasn't the end boss, NO, HE GOT EATEN BY FUCKING DARK BOWSER. DARK BOWSER. WHY.
Ah, well. I like long bosses, it feels much better opposed to bosses you kill randomly and don't expect it.
I've been playing FF6 and it's kind of a letdown to kill a boss quickly.
>The two cranes
Then again I just gained control of the airship...
That's because Sticker Star is a fucking Puzzle Game
The fucking Bosses are all puzzles
your supposed to be fight them by finding their weakness, LIKE A FUCKING PUZZLE
THE FINAL BOWSER FIGHT IS LITERALLY A GIANT PUZZLE SEGMENT
why the fuck is a Chomp living in the sewer waters
why the fuck does it make me go through this padded crap to hit blocks to beat it
why is this castle so much longer than every area in the game
I beat him on my first try. With that said I'm level 41 and Mario takes two turns and gets to swing his hammer twice or jump three times per turn so I may have been a bit over leveled for it
I played it as a kid and didn't like it as much as SS, but liked it. I replayed it since then and realized just why I didn't like it and so many more issues about it.
Innocence and nostalgia as a pair make a fucking hell of a drug.
>5.5 world size
>need to use specific items to beat bosses and the game scolds you if you try not to
>the entire puzzle portions involving special stickers
>the constant backtracking
>the entire sticker system
If they just fixed the sticker system just a bit like making special stickers into key items are something, the game would be bearable. That was the biggest problem for me. I ended up just looking up a guide to check which special stickers I needed to save up for puzzles and bosses, because I didn't want to waste them and backtrack all the way back to town to get them back. Everything else was just icing on the cake.
>not balancing them out into two powerhouses of POW, SPD, DEF, and STACHE
>need to use specific items to beat bosses and the game scolds you if you try not to
I never understood the problem with this. Kersti just says you're dumb for not finishing the battle faster when you could, does that actually bother people? It's not like the game actually scolds you by giving you some sort of penalty or something.
It bothers me because the game is basically telling you to play the way it wants you to play or else you are going to get fucked on bowser for not using the required stickers to beat him.
All of the games have good osts because the composer is actually really good, knows the themes and tones of each game and the series and composes tracks to fit them perfectly.
It's part of the game. My worst experience was in PiT when I kept getting 1s in every single level up. I considered restarting at several points.
I agree. SS had so much story and creativity. It's one of favourite games of all-time, I'd replay it over and over again.
Except the underwater levels fuck those
