Why does /v/ CS:GO? Is it becasue you are all hipsters and CS:GO is popular?
The aiming is fucking retarded.
If you try to shoot while moving, you won't hit anything at all.
In order to have a chance at hitting anything at all you have to stand completely still.
How is this any different from having iron sights?
I don't get the appeal for CS:GO, it plays very clunky and the guns are RNG cannons where one lucky shot to the head is a guaranteed instant death.
I just don't understand why it has massive appeal, especially when it comes to Esports since I find it very boring to watch whether you watch it in-game or someone casting on a stream.
Not while jumping, but while even moving forwards or sideways your aiming is completely fucked.
Tell me how this is any different from having iron sights.
Aiming while moving is completely inaccurate, in order to hit anything you must stand completely still, which is basically like having ironsights but not actually having them.
csgo is the quake 4 of the series,
everyone will play it because it's the new thing and they think they need to "support" it for it to become ESPORTS when in reality 1.6 is still superior.
>Why does /v/ CS:GO?
Because I lurked the /vg/ threads for a few days and realized that the fanbase is full of high school kids, MOBA-tards, and tryhards
>kek git gud silvershitter, gg ez
I don't hate it.
Two things i find annoying though.
Random headshots occur way too frequently, i say this as someone who pulls random headshot kills out of my ass regularly.
Might just be me, but if i stop playing for a week i go from average to gutter trash and have to spend another week or two of near constant playing to get back to that point or higher than it, which burns me out and leads me to not play it for a while, which leads to the cycle continuing.
I doubt the second one is common or a fault of the game, but shit, i haven't played a battlefield game since bad company, but i picked battlefield 4 to play at a friends place and felt perfectly comfortable with it, same goes with most games, i don't know why it happens to me with CS:GO.
>I used to play CS Source and CS 1.6 back when Steam wasn't even a thing yet
Sure you did, Anon.
I enjoy it but without a team I don't have the motivation to keep playing MM and the skill level of pubs are just too low.
All other 'tactical' FPS just don't compare because they follow the more modern FPS strategy.
>I used to play CS Source and CS 1.6 back when Steam wasn't even a thing
>aiming at someones torso
>after a few shots i randomly get a headshot
This happens all the fucking time. I could be aiming at someones legs and I will sometimes randomly get a headshot. It's pure luck. Sometimes I could be aiming at someones torso and miss every single shot and sometimes my aim could be completely off and I get a random headshot out of nowhere.
this. It's essentially the same that it was in '99. I've moved on.
The droprates for this game are the most jewish they have ever been in a Valve game.
The best you can do (and what i do) is play heavily during the release of new chests. Because Valve don't sell the items in them in a store, their 'value' is high as shit because nerds pay 300 dollars for a gun skin.
You can make 5 bucks with a new chest within the first week. If you're lucky you will get 1-5 pumping in a few hours a day in that first week and make a tidy little nest egg for the next summer sale.
But as a general rule, playing this game to sell the drops is just flat out not worth it. But, gaming the system and trying to get lucky with box drops when they're new might net you a couple of bucks, if you're very lucky.
But yeah, this games drop rates are so bad, add to that they're usually on the low end in terms of quality and its probably going to be for a gun nobody wants / uses.
Valve are turbojews when it comes to drop rates.
You know what you're gonna hit on full auto?
For reals, hitting anything out past 30 meters on full auto is almost impossible if its the size of a human. Regardless of the weapon.
Unless its like, a p90.
Those things are easy to control.
>I used to play CS Source and CS 1.6 back when Steam wasn't even a thing yet
>i used to play CS:S and CS 1.6 back then when Steam wasn't even a thing
wow, you're fucking retarded.
CS:GO was a joke.
Then they added skins and had a few really cheap sales during summer. I would also assume Valve has put some money / advertising towards competitive games.
Also i'd imagine 'pros' would eventually move on from 1.6 and source.
>played csgo with friends
>knew it would end up killing the game or at the least the community
>faggots start coming in from tf2 etc. and shitting up comp
Dropped it right then, Valve is a fucking disgusting company with no integrity.
>comp match with a couple buddies
>enemy team consists of whiny teenagers
>one of them is hating on my friend using the p90
>"THERES A REASON THEYRE BANNED FROM TOURNAMENTS, DONT FUCKING US IT"
>naturally we all buy p90s
>the anal leakage is flooding the game, its glorious
>we win the game
>"WOW YOU GUYS ARE THE WORST FUCKING TEAM IVE EVER SEEN WOW"
>"git gud kiddo"
>unintelligible screaming as the match closes
I had a hat I scammed from kid using the hat-detector software that a certain BR used.
This is it. This is the proof. I would have sold it in person but the paypal/gift/TRADE-ITEM-FIRST thing became a huge ordeal
I do enjoy recycling keys for money dosh, though. The market really is a good place to do business but too back its stock is all done in steambux.
>leave voice chat off
>have fun with the game
I like it.
Oh, I forgot the tag the rest of the post.
The skins are nice little pick-me-ups from time to time and they're kinda cool when you get a nice collection of them. As long as you're not paying money DELIBERATELY for skins, you can enjoy the RNG factor the game. Especially recycling 10 shitty skins for a better upgrade.
HOW THE FUCK DID CS:GO BEAT LoL IN VIEWERSHIP
>played over 20 hours of competitive matches
>never got a single drop
>not even a shitty crate or a skin worth 10 cents
>never play again
Thanks for killing my boner for competitive FPS, Valve
That doesn't even sound like awful luck
I don't know, I find it hard to believe.
Stop playing competitive and play a few rounds of arms race or something. I've always gotten SOMETHING out of a few rounds o' that.
Indeed you have to be 18+ to go on this board. There's too much hidden hentai threads on /v/ that can't be seen by the eyes of a pure innocent virgin teenager.
Seen it before. I assume this is the reason everyone is so hesitant to play. If we do play, it'd be competitive, none of this deathmatch bullshit.
I can't find one, but goddamn the /csgog/ thread has some great info in the OP.
>tfw only person from /v/ you've played cs:go just called strats and enemy positions and sounded like a normal adult male
The "or" clause forbids those above the age 18 to view the site. The legal age isn't 18 everywhere, hence the addition. It's a pretty common addendum that's meant to account for various countries, which you'd know if you ever bothered to read rules on websites.
I got it for free from another /v/ loser for guessing a video game song correctly.
Might as well play it. It can be fun. I usually sell the shit I get on the market to keep the Russian scammers at bay.
That's pretty grey, though since there isn't an account-based system, it's only for show/so 4chan doesn't get shit for "allowing kids on a gore site" or some shit.
Seriously. MM isn't that bad, but goddamnit every once in a while you hear a 13 year old kid trying to get carried by is eagle friend and jesus christ.
I think the average person on GO is around my demographic though (20 year old American male), which is surprising for some reason to me.
It's each round. There was been like 100 rounds in the tournament.
I got a cobblestone one and a dust2 one. For having my laptop on for 4 days and twitch turned on and not even watching.
You probably live with your parents otherwise that would seem like a shitty idea. $20 for a few days of wasting electricity. You'd be better off mining buttcoins at the point in time.
I only play it for the zombie escape maps, just like with CS and CS:Source.
Unlike iron sights, it allows for advanced techniques such as taking a few steps to the side, stopping, and then shooting. Also, to contradict my statement mocking CS:GO, the guns still don't become laser accurate when you stop moving like most modern shooting games when using iron sights.
I sure hope you play casual, anon.
You're the worst type of person in competitive.
Are you kidding me? I love it.
>tfw I got a Nitro M4 as a drop
>comp match with a couple friends
>stuck with an 8-year-old on our team
>really loud, really annoying, REALLY dumb
>at one point, he's standing on the back of mid, and he's the last guy
>when we try to tell him where they are, he says "shut up, I'm trying to listen to them coming from cat"
>anyway, he pulls this bullshit the entire game
>last round, about to lose anyway
>one of my friends chases him as he goes to b
>traps him behind car with a molotov
>empties his m4 clip
>empties his usp clip
>reloads, shoots the m4 a few more times before killing him
>"sorry I thought you were a t"
Full auto, 1 shot headshot against armor, cheap as fuck. It'll undoubtedly be nerfed next patch.
Downsides are that it only has 24 bullets (12 in a clip, 12 in reserve), which it chews through very quickly. You also can't use it at the same time as the P250.
there are no iron sights because a) they weren't used in the original cs, and b) it would make the game far too easy. valve intended cs to be a game requiring skill and patience, and iron sights would likely turn it into a run-and-gun.
This happens a lot
Because its not crammed full of horseshit unlocks, perks, achievemnts and microtransactions.
It's a game that is fun on the merit of its gameplay, and nothing else. The same cant be said about many other games.
It's also very competitive.
They also dont remake it every 6 months, forcing you to buy the latest one, or get stuck with dead online multiplayer.
>Haven't played in a while but are valve still so incompetent at balancing that there are weapons everyone agrees are OP that everyone uses like the aug/p250/p90
Ever competitive game ever
>Eco riflies Famas/Galil
I think I saw MP7 a few times and P90 a few times in ESL One
You can offset it a little bit to be more in the center of the screen so you don't have to move your eyes too far when you wanna look up at the radar.
when reflex comes out
Will they ever change the tick or do they just don't give a fuck? Also bots on ranked matches are a fucking joke.
you must be knew if you think valve are good at balancing.
>make the deagle a 2 hit kill to the chest for no reason
>nerf it so it's useless
>make the aug op as fuck for no reason
>people complain until it gets nerfed
They're never gonna change the tick. Their reasoning is that like 40% of the people playing MM doesn't even get above 60 FPS, so they decide to fuck over everyone else(while conveniently saving money).
>fog & blurr distract from gameplay, they cant be disabled
>map design is unintelligible, layouts favor fashion over function
>sound effects are a combination of annoying & boring, weapons sound like tin cans rattling
>T models are ragged/mundane, off-brand leet crew
>rag doll is lazy & looks horrid
>ugly m4 vs 20 bullet m4
>dota styled queue system does not encourage making or finding teams & practicing with them
>motion interpreting styled to accommodate 100+ ms (bad design)
>not made by valve, made by Hidden Path Entertainment (same as cs:s)
>off-brand/annoying radio chatter ("Easy peasy lemon squeezy!")
the list goes on, this game is a shadow of what its trying to imitate
community is full of tryhards, even worse than dota
Jesus fucking christ you fucking VICTIMS
GO OUT RIGHT NOW
CORNER OF YOUR STREET, PROVIDED YOU DON'T LIVE IN A WHITE SUBURB LIKE MOST OF /V/ DOES
SAME CLOTHES YOU'RE WEARING NOW, SWEATY, DIRTY, COVERED WITH CHEETOS AND ENERGY DRINK STAINS
JUST STAND THERE AND BEG FOR 15 MINUTES
10 FUCKING BUCKS AT LEAST
Less time and work than begging for the Gaben RNG machine to grant you drops you can exchange for worthless shovelware discount games.
FUCK VALVE AS A DEVELOPER, PUBLISHER AND A MOTHERFUCKING VENDOR
AND IF YOU WANT TO BE DOWN WITH VALVE
THEN FUCK YOU TOO
STEAM: FUCK YOU TOO
ALL YOU NECKBEARDS FUCK YOU TOO
Its not necessarily lies, I myself had a similar experience. first i played Kingpin: Life of Crime, and I liked the way it felt, but it wasn't enough for me, so I looked for a similar experience and found cs 1.6. first map I ever played on it was de_dust. I still have a very vivid memory of the round starting and all hell breaking lose. I'd never experienced anything like it before.
good times. heheh
Given how short range CS is, you actually would be able to hit your targets when moving at combat pace.
Not saying that makes it bad, but implying it;s realistic that your bullets start flying out of the barrel at weird angles when you move is retarded.
He was saying Steam wasn't popular back then. I kind of agree with that, and also, it's his opinion. i know you're a child, but you're going to have to accept some day that people experience life from different points of view so they will view life different and their opinions will vary
Yeah, fuck off already. Here's conclusions that a rational older than 15 human being comes to:
1) Dude forgot when 1.6 came out. He could have been playing since 1.1 and simply forgot when 1.5 upgraded to 1.6.
2) He played in LAN clubs like most Europeans did and didn't even know 1.6 shipped with Steam. Back when Steam came out, it was nothing but a DRM resource hog that came shipped with Half Life 2 and nobody gave half a fuck about it.
But since this is /v/, you dipshits immediately resort to googling the release date and jumping around like chimpmunks because for once in your life, you got to rek someone on the online internet.
Jesus christ you fucking dipshits. I played CS since 1.0 or 1.1, fuck if I remember and I had no fucking clue 1.6 came out at the same time Steam did. I didn't know it then, I didn't know it now. I didn't care.
Now before you whip your cock out again and start screaming samefag, consider getting a life instead.
Same thing here, I played CS from 1.5, and I didn't even know steam existed back then or that 1.6 came with it.
Well, I don't steam anyways nowadays too, so I still don't care for it.
>2) He played in LAN clubs like most Europeans did and didn't even know 1.6 shipped with Steam. Back when Steam came out, it was nothing but a DRM resource hog that came shipped with Half Life 2 and nobody gave half a fuck about it.
I played at netcafes when it came out and it was literally impossible to not know that Steam came out. Everything was such a hassle compared to just connecting to servers with wonID.
There's literally no way you wouldn't notice any difference between 1.5 and 1.6 unless you were completely braindead.
>WonID? What the fuck is that
>We played cracked CS in LAN like everyone else.
Nearly all netcafes had special deals for CD keys since they were so easy to get, so you must be from some piss poor 3rd world country.
You got that right, I'm from Serbia. They eventually got legal CS copies once ADSL was introduced as a mainstream internet option so LAN clubs followed suit. Before that, we strictly LAN'd.
>game full of weapon skins
>player movement is retarded and slowish
>horrible and autism giving weapons sounds
>retarded main menu and interface
>matchmaking (1.6 had nothing like that and it was great)
>valve tryharding for graphics
>retarded shooting and recoil
>shit designed maps
>cancer giving voices (im throwing flashbang etc.)
>you can actually watch retarded matches in-fucking-game
>player skins (models) are horrible
>everyone with their fucking weapon skins making off tons of money and not giving a shit about game itself
>attracts huge amounts of kids
1.6 is fucking superior to this shit tier game GO. everyone plays GO instead of 1.6, because "new game" and "muh graphics". the fun in 1.6 and GO is fucking uncomparable.
Bought this game in the summer sale - immediately ran into the infamous CS community you see in the youtube videos.
I managed to get two lucky kills and I was screamed at for the rest of the game that I was hacking - they checked my profile and saw that I had only played 2 hours and assumed that someone with 2 hours played couldn't possibly, under any circumstances, luck or not; get two kills.
Fucking toxic - I've not touched it since.
its not a fucking bait. pretty sure some people want to know opinions. that why i came here, to tell my opinion.
pretty sure you havent even played 1.6, have you? in 1.6 its was all about game experience and knowledge (weapons, map tricks, jump tricks, greande tricks). 1.6 had no fucking matchmaking and that was amazing, since no one was bitching about his rank. oh and those weapon sounds, that AK, that M4A1. and what ive heard in GO? cancerous sounds, my ears are just bleeding. guess why valve pumped up their game by adding retarded trading system? because this game would go to complete utter shit. skins and trading is their only way to get profit. back when 1.6 was popular, it had almost 0 updates, 0 patches, 0 new ingame items, and guess what? it was a god tier FPS game, even is up to this day, no one even gave a shit about updates. the bugs made the game fun to play.
>implying 1.6 wasn't muddy as fuck with 2 colors
People talk about GO as if it's not meant to be a successor to an already established game. People are pointing out it's the same shit but slightly more retarded. People go on to scream "I HAVE MY RIGHT TO PLAY THE RETARDED VERSION". Well go fucking ahead, don't expect us not to call you out on it on fucking 4chan because that's the whole point of this cesspool.
twitch.tv wasnt a thing in those days you fucktard. the streaming required great internet speed back in 1.6 days and i doubt a lot people had great internet.
>caring for viewers
having a big amount of viewers doesnt mean it is a good game.
Got it on last Winter Sale and shit is fun as hell so duh fuck what /v/ says.
More than 500k watching NiP vs Fnatic so i guess CSGO competitive scene is evolving (In part due to betting but whtvr huh?)
The CS part is fine, it's the GO part that I have qualms with. It runs VERY poorly on modest hardware compared to every other Source game, the item drop system is confusing and conflicts greatly with traditional CS gameplay, and the visual quality has little improvement, featuring the same herky jerky animations we're used to in CS:S.
The worst part, though, is the RNG. If you lose at CS:S, you suck, you can see why you suck, and gitting gud is straightforward
and a lot of fun. If you lose at CS:GO, you can't fucking tell if you suck or are just unlucky. You might as well just equip a goddamn Negev and hold M1 until you get headshots.
It's too difficult for casuals, too boring for veterans and too randomized for tourneyfags. It just makes me want to play CS:S more.
>comp match with random players
>first few rounds we dominate
>Enemy suddenly goes all in for AWPs
>They start killing us
>Total bro starts giving us great advice and tactics
>We start winning again
>They keep buying AWPs and run out of money
>They come at us with SMGs
>We all AWP
>Over voice chat we can hear their fury
Who the fuck ever said hitboxes were affected by resolution? The point is that playing at 4:3 eliminates a lot of perceived distance, which makes heads look bigger, which makes them easier to click on.
>opinions, internet community is just as shit as its always been, just new faces
>what's wrong with that? Purely cosmetic, why not?
>It's always been in CS, outside of bhopping, which was a bug that they took out intentionally. You're not supposed to be jumping around the map at 95 mph.
>The muffled 1.6 sounds weren't better by any margin. They were muffled and low quality.
>the main menu is literally moved to the top of the screen. You can disable the CSGO updates/text on the screen by changing some configs.
>Matchmaking is bad for some reason? Getting matched with people near your skill level is worse than randomly joining a server and having no idea how good the people on your team or the other team are?
>Tryharding for graphics... the game isn't crazy graphically, and you can turn a lot of it down. Opinion, while also being shallow.
>The patterns have stayed nearly the same as 1.6, which was done on purpose due to the backlash of CSS spray "patterns"
>Sorry you got headshotted, but that's the game buddy. You would know that since you played 1.6, right?
>The maps are the same basic layout as their 1.6 or Source counterparts.
>They added more voices specific to the nation/faction the characters were from... and that's bad? Relax, you can turn them off if you don't like them.
>Spectating friends' or pros' games is now a bad thing? ...what?
>Opinion. Have you actually looked at the models from 1.6? Awfully rectangular.
>You're mad that other people are making money off of the game/other people, which, is all cosmetic, mind you. Has no affect on you either.
>implying I didn't start playing CS 1.6 when I was 12
Am I missing anything else? Because literally everybody else from 1.6 has moved on, including the pros, to CSGO. It's simply the better game, hate to break it to you.
I stopped playing CSGO because it runs like shit, looks like shit, and is pretty poorly made. On ranked servers hits have a tendency to not count and hit registry in general is off.
This whole E-Sports bullshit is the same crap as real sports. They don't matter but people waste time caring about this stuff instead of caring about more important things like how badly they are getting fucked by the govt.
That said theres a relatively low skill ceiling in CSGO compared to past CS games and honestly its stagnent. Until Valve makes CSGO hardcore again instead of casual boringness and fixes their netcode or servers or whatevers fucking the hit reg up, I have no intention to play it again.
>replying seriously to obvious bait
You're right, but still. No one seriously thinks that having a matchmaking system ALONG with >muh 128 tick community servers is bad. It would take serious brain damage to believe such a thing.
>it runs like shit, looks like shit
Get rid of your toaster. You can't blame the game for you being poorfag slavshit.
>muh ticks, muh netcode and no-reg shit
Same bullshit argument as always. No matter how perfect it was, you would still cry about it
git gud fgt
>This whole E-Sports bullshit is the same crap as real sports
Sure, but who gives a fuck. It doesn't affect the game negatively.
>CSGO runs more poorly but still looks like shit on higher settings
GET GUD PC
>hit reg has a tendency to not work or have shots not hitting other players hitboxes when they should
>E-Sports and most of the interest in CS and similiar games is pointless and mindless when better competitive games exist. Games that might have actual tactics instead of run this way or throw a flash bang here.
I DONT CARE GIVE ME MY MIND CONTROL!!!!!!
I can't even play CSGO after 321 hours in the game and dealing with the same issues game after game I just stopped caring about its flawed designs. Its way to easy to get lucky kills and to much emphasis is put on twitch shooting. The game has regressed instead of taken the natural move towards a SWAT style game that it would have taken had not the massive E-Sports cancer hijacked it and made it impossible for the game to change in a meaningful way that made it better for tactical operations.
Playing without friends and the games hit reg and lack of significant designs of CS 1.6 makes the game very......shallow feeling when compared to 1.6 and when its not shallow certain aspects including hit reg just feel like shit in general.
If people actually looked at CSGO without yellow tinted goggles I doubt they would actually like the game much outside of casual interest.
It's whatever. Shit's anonymous so it doesn't really bother me. If I gave you my Steam name we could probably be best friends and play games together all night and stomp scrubs in matchmaking, but anonymous.
Could you try any harder? I've heard the same fucking arguments about hitreg for the past god knows how many years. It doesn't matter what game, some idiot without any knowledge of game programming will come in and bitch about >muh netcode.
>watch almost all the matches
>friend watches 3 matches
>gets 2 cases
>feeling like a boss very confident etc
>running/walking but turning to look at every corner
>look the the corner while running, see the enemy, look back to nowhere and then turn around again realising the shit and get rekt
CS in a nutshell
>playing Counter Strike at all
>It's the CoD of it's time
>a casual piece of shit
>babbies have nostalgia over it
>nostalgia over fucking CS
If I didn't know any better, I'd call this a bait thread. But I'm guessing OP really does enjoy playing that putrid piece of shit.
You people are no better then the 12 year olds and dudebros who fawn over the newest CoD release and buy every Ass Creed that comes out.
