>>258469829 I think this whole, you're defenseless while in the most hostile place imaginable Idea should have stopped at penumbra, anything beyond that feels like beating a dead horse like even amnesia was not that great man.
>>258468486 >>258469829 >small minority jump on it quickly and enjoy it >fanbase grows and grows >people ignore it on the catalog for the most part >becomes multiple threads at once >people take an interest >because the majority weren't enthusiastic enough to be on board from the start they're obviously less biased in how they receive the game >overall opinion is now mixed >"Oh my god I fucking knew you guys would hate it now that it's popular!" /v/ isn't one person. /v/ does not hate video games. Just because you had one small community surrounding a game and now that the game has gotten attention and those new people don't like it doesn't mean those original people have turned on it.
>>258471924 no one dislikes the game because of drawfags or fetishists. It just got more attention as it got more threads and people who are late to the party were less inclined to circlejerk around it in order to feel a part of something. I remember seeing the bear's face on the catalog many times before I finally ended up seeing what the hell it was supposed to be. Is my disliking of the game invalidated because I played it a week later than the people who liked it? Is the opinion of a person who bought a game during steam sales worth less than the opinion of the person who preordered it? If you don't like mixed opinions on video games, this isn't the place for you.
It was exciting at first because everything was a surprise. Nobody had beaten all the nights yet. Now that it's been beaten and everyone who has lurked at least 3 of the threads when the game was just beaten has seen every single piece of content content in the game without even playing the game.
Since it's greenlight and the dev doesn't seem like a total fag there will be more content and /v/ will turn on itself once more just so they can get excited.
>>258472859 I would list some multiplayer horror mods, but so few are active these days. Each of them managed to find the perfect balance between player power and player powerlessness, by having TWO teams of players with their own powers.
I can't wait for Routine to come out and, in spite of /v/ having hyped it up for well over a year and given it more exposure than any mainstream gaming site, it immediately being dismissed as "youtuber bait" the second popular LPers start to play it
Like with everything here, we enjoy for a little bit, then we get tired/something/someone ruins it for us, and we disown it. Then shortly after /v/ forgets it's fad/OC exists, you start seeing it show up on other places like reddit, 9gag, youtube long after it's relevancy. Then about a year later, you start seeing it monetized by the jews on t-shirts and such, and eventually the average 12-year-old on the street will get the maymay you're referencing. However, it's more rare to see this happen nowadays because /v/ rarely creates any OC anymore because we've caught on to reddit. Like when you see a face you may have made in a comic for /v/ 6 years ago suddenly end up jpeg artifcated to hell and vectorized in a maymay comic on funnyjunk or 9gag, with a little trademark at the bottom. Those kids upboating it have no idea you had anything to do with it, and neither did that maymay comic creator. Like tears in the rain, no one will no you made it, and everything will fade away. There is nothing worse than that feeling. Th feeling of knowing your OC that was once cherished by a small community is now dead, with it's body being molested and admired by a bunch of 9-year-olds that have no idea of it's origin. Sorry, this really has nothing to do with FNAF, but I'm just venting. I just saw all of the nice OC to come out of it here (which really hasn't happened in a long while), and almost half of it is already uploaded to KYM. It's the same shit over and over again, and I want off this ride.
>>258473709 >the game doesn't jump scare you just to fuck you over Then what do you call pretty much everything on Day 5? You know, Freddy appearing on the TV screaming IT'S ME!!!, the sudden loud screams at random, and most importantly the fact that the Golden/Empty Freddy can appear at pretty much any time?
>>258473874 It sends foxy night guard welcoming committee your way. Said committee also moves very fast. It also can just randomly decide to drop by and say hello without you looking at the cove so better still check it just in case
>>258473874 No, Pirate Cove is where Foxy is at. There are 4 stages. 1st there's nothing there. 2nd is when Foxy opens the curtains and stares at the camera. 3rd Is when Foxy's outside of the curtain. And the 4th stage of Pirate cove is when he's gone. When he's gone, you better act fast to close the door because he's running straight towards you and you can see him running in the hallway towards you. You have the smallest window of reaction time when he's running towards you. Not necessarily an auto death.
The rumor is if you don't look at pirate cove he doesn't come out of the curtain. This isn't true however.
>>258475124 He has a point, you know. The only scares in the game are from either the jump scares, or anticipating them. You're going to get jumped on your first (MAYBE second) night, and dread them for the rest of the game. Not because they're scary, though that helps. No, it's because they're so damn ANNOYING.
>>258470678 I'm less concerned with youtubers and more with other game developers. I feel like they're going to look at it, go, "I wonder how much I can copy" and flood the market with cheap knockoffs. The game works so well because it feels personal. Take a look at the creator's previous work and this falls oddly in line with it. I don't know, I don't want to see a game like this suffer an undignified death.
>/v/ likes a game 9/10 its unique like totally different from the same bullshit slender clones >game becomes popular god damn mainstream youtubers, the game is ruined even though nothing has changed about the game but more people know about it so i hate it now
>>258475271 this guy is a little more sensible, but the jump scares are icing on the cake, you just don't want this mucus blood corpse filled jerky creepy robot things to get in your tiny little room with the doors open and the lights outside off.
>>258475687 >retards actually believe this it started out as a small circlejerk and then you went and made multiple threads at a time and caught the attention of different people. Those new people didn't like your shitty game. Fucking cry about it.
>>258476215 >anon discussing sensibly and clearly Is this bizzaro /v/ again? Anyway, yeah he probably could have, I'm not sure what exactly he could have done though. Hopefully we'll see some better stuff in the >sequel
>>258468486 Are you surprised? /v/ is fucking filled to the brim with hipsters. As soon as this started getting popular, more and more shitposting went on in the threads. Now that this is reaching Slender levels of popularity, they're acting like it's a pile of shit.
>>258476215 Apparently they're already working on a sequel. Hopefully, they'll learn from their mistakes and make it less jumpscare-based. I mean, it's not like they could do the same exact thing with a sequel.
They could, but I like to tell myself they wouldn't.
can people just shut the fuck up? It's not a flash game, it's a horror experience and it's more immersive than any other horror experience. Also it's not furry you're so fucking dumb it's not even fur on the costumes they're animatronic. I bet you don't even know the lore, you just come on here and hate on shit just because we found it first.
>>258473657 Unfortunately that's basically how everything happens and has happened years before the internet. GI ask your parents, its literally the same thing. X catches wind, gets across to bigger people, and suddenly they're selling X t-shirts to nine year old's.
>>258477524 >Derrick I swear to god if you are sneaking up behind me I am going to punch you in the eye >Dunno what you're talking about bro >I swear to fucking god, if I turn around after flipping this switch and I see your wack ass monster face all up in my space I am going to hit you >Nah bro nah I wouldn't do you like that >Fucking great, so you aren't there, now I gotta wait for you to do some other bullshit ju- >YOU DIDN'T CHECK THE CEILING BRO >GOD FUCKING DAMMIT DERRICK
>>258473314 Do the humans actually have a way of fighting the monsters in this? because that sure looked like they didn't with just their crowbars, and if they don't then what's to stop the monsters from just going ham on everyone since there's nothing they can do about it
>>258477790 >literal retard of an employee sticks around for seven nights as animatronic animals come to life and try to kill him >gets 120$ for seven shifts, payed 4$~ an hour for this shitty job >the owners of the place keep these things 'on' after multiple child murders because it prevents them from locking up >IMMERSIVE
>game where you wait in a room >and can't move >but can look at cameras >while you wait for the animals to pop out >that you know are going to pop out >and there are only 4 possible animals >and you know it's either the animation is going to happen or nothing will happen >and you just wait for the game to finish while closing doors and turning on the lights when you need to >this is scary to people >this is fun to people it's like winding up a jack in the box to try and shock yourself when it bursts out.
>>258478472 >it's okay, all other horror games are like that I swear >besides Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Call of Cthulu, Penumbra, Alone in the Dark, Clocktower, Dark Seed and most horror games that weren't indie first person stuff developed in the last 3 years
>>258479838 Not that fag, but man, fuck this retarded ass mentality. >Everyone on /v/ is mah bros or should I say /v/ros! Most of this shit started with the DS and Wii and just went even further to shit after that. Fuck that. I'd post a modified version of the yoshinoya pasta, but I'm sure jewt has probably put it on auto-ban by now.
>>258480190 "/v/ Mentality" is the worst thing to happen to this board. The idea that /v/ is a Sony board, or a Microsoft, or a Nintendo, or Portable, or even a PC board fucks everything up. /v/ isn't anybodies personal army, and if you come here for a back rub and hot cocoa while you talk about how great ____ is, you're on the wrong fucking board.
>>258467415 Is this one of those things where /v/ likes it until it gets to be more popular and well known and shuns it? Shit either way It looks cool but seems like the gameplay is too limited you could say for me. Like Killing Floor is a godly 8/10 game but man those limited waves everytime and shit just get old fast. For what it is rated with other indies i'd say it is pretty upper tier if not top tier as of currently with what else is to be chosen from. Just fuck man I'd kill for being able to wonder the place in first person and just have to run away from them back to my safe place and drain up power and repeat.
>>258480502 >/v/ isn't anybodies personal army, and if you come here for a back rub and hot cocoa while you talk about how great ____ is, you're on the wrong fucking board. Goddamn this. >w-w-w-we shud all make zelda williams a card and send it to her! All of these shitty card threads were fucking terrible and anyone who supports them deserves to be shot in the fucking balls. To further continue with what >>258479838 was talking about, I fucking hate the fact that the overwhelming amount of bullshit posters here can't even grasp the fact that there are always going to be people that disagree on games, but that doesn't fucking mean that they fucking hate talking about them, that they have shit taste (technically), or that their findings of actual flaws in games are lies or insignificant.
To those people, I say: Nobody has any fucking obligation to spoonfeed your ass. Yes, I fucking went there, because that's exactly what it is. If you can't research games based on your own interests or even lurk threads on /v/, then that's your own goddamn problem, you spineless cunts.
>>258481665 >There aren't even that many recommendation threads either. There's one every hour of every fucking day practically. >Being this edgy Thanks for proving our point about paper-skinned crybabies.
