Some ez-mode edited version of CoT RPG. It was still hard as fuck.
basics of map The Forest completed
trees need to be added
stairs need to be changed to normal paths
you can build rock now, even though it needs few fixes to perfect.
CURRENTLY WORKING ON -> transform Invoker into TRUE Elf.
Oh, I just checked this box and wondered why I didn't get any results.
This whole fucking custom map shit is still early in its life. People started playing with this stuff just the other week.
Troll Tribes didn't come out the same week WC3 did. And just the other week people were saying DOTA2 had no RTS functionality, which has already been worked around.
also if not add me on steam and lets play some mo fuckin games
>There will never be another game with RPing like Warcraft 3 custom maps
go to play
go to custom games
restart steam and download 5 gigs of dota2 update
go to workshop page
subscribe to custom game
now you are good to go to launch from dota2 client
>Dota 2 has no trolls or shitty trolls
>Dota 2 washed out fuckawful graphcis
>Troll Tribes will immediately be dogshit on it
Fuck Dota custom map scene. Warcraft 3 did it right, this thing is a pile of shit.
You can import custom models
The dota custom map scene is a week old. You do know the first week warcraft 3 out, no, the first whole month, all the custom maps were utter fucking dogshit, right? You don't know what the fuck you're talking about so please just stop posting.
You haven't even played with it at all have you?
You are fucking worthless. You don't have to even be a fan of DotA to recognize the potential of this thing you massive shit for brains faggot. I'm mad that shit like you exists.
>Tfw you'll never remember the name of a dead map that you used to love, back in the early days before Dota exploded.
It was some kind of team-based island defence thing. It used the space marine models and you were able to chose a certain element-based marine to defend with. The element you chose determined the marines abilities, obviously.
On a segment of the island, separated from the shops and healing fountains by a tiny land strip (in later versions the island was segregated and you teleported there) were a shitload of the monsters everyone had to kill to advance a round or something. That was the entirety of the game, and it was fucking god-tier.
It died out completely by around 2005, if I remember correctly, and was never ultra popular in the first place. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?
I remember there was a SC2 arcade game like this that used various terran units as different classes, and you had to clear out a bunch of strong as fuck zerg units.
It felt a bit like an MMO raid with the way you had to pull small groups of enemies and upgrading your unit
>That first slew of "custom" models
>All those shitty naruto character skins over Illidans model in those shitty Korean hero arenas
>Those awful, ugly, mismatched colors that looked spray-painted on
I do not miss those maps a whole lot. I preferred the maps that just used the stock models. Until the really well done low-poly models started coming out. Then shit got interesting.
I'm not sure either.
so yoiu can go to d2modd.in and people are posting the passwords to their lobbies
but i don't see how to find the lobby to put in the password in the first place
on d2modd.in they say you either need to be the host's friend or have the password.
but now that I have the password I don't know what to do with it!
i would like to see some new fucking maps instead of the same old uninspired copy and paste shit from warcraft 3, because even modders are fucking unoriginal they just want to make the same fucking shit over and over.
Hell, I remember that the most fun I had with these "anime arena" maps was with Anime Fight.
It used stock models and shit but, damn, it was fun as hell.
Gaara used a Lich model painted brown, Vash was a space marine and so on.
Shit was great.
Sounds exactly like how the game I'm talking about played. Especially the bit about segmenting enemies to manage them and pick them off.
Fuck I miss this shit so much.
Anyone remember Mt Olympus or whatever that game was called? You were a random God from the mythology and had to defend Mt Olympus from hordes of Hades forces along with your teammates. It was balls hard and amazing.
