A browser MMO in 2010 featuring only deast races, and set in a Camelot made entirely of creatures. Dogs cats birds bears squirrels maybe, mostly woodland creatures. No idea what the name was, but the quests were suprisingly not bugged to fuck, my class was balanced enough for the 3 days i played it, and the scenery was quite good. No idea what its called, but i remember hearing it shut down. Think i first saw it linked on /v/
Fuck, I don't remember Endless looking that shitty back when I played in 06
goddamn that game was so fucking bad
nigga that was one of the most popular free MMOs out for a long time.
I guess it was pretty popular for its time, but that beta was a blast.
The drop rates were so horrible and random that just finding any shitty high level weapon or armor meant you were rich, I kind of miss that in modern mmos
Shittiest mmo ever, had like 6 skills, needed thousands of mobs to level up, no quests but it was fun with friends.
Its called playdo. There was a playdo 2.0 which then turned into something called "spineworld"
Man Habbo was the shit. Djing for a UK based habbo radio station and having people recognize you when you were in random rooms was pretty cool. I miss being 13 sometimes, then I remember how shitty everything else was.
How come every arena fighter but Lost Saga is dead?
Let me tell you about RoM
I went and leveled as a knight/mage, the literal shittiest class in the game. I got to just below raid tier back when TT was the best dungeon. I swapped to knight/ranger and became a king tank. I got geared and raided well into that firelands place as the MT for my guild.
Let me tell you about RoM.
First off, new raid released? 50 bucks or you aren't keeping up. Flat out. New expansion? 50 more. The amount of money you'd need to spend on clean stones was fucking atrocious. Drop rates were horrible and for the longest time, back when you had... uh... the waves one, with medusa? Before a big patch you fucking had to keep those pay2win mana pots on you because knights seals sucked ass.
They nickled and dimed so hard that it made my head spin
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on /v/ that ever played dransik.
Aw fuck, that class was so horribly balanced you NEEDED to mana spam.
Best fucking class in the game, almost TOO OP in some cases (Knight + cleric) and their answer to balance rape was to give them low mana pools and super high costs.
It was supposed to "Make people think before spamming skills"
People just cashed out though.
Was definitely a great step towards the right direction for a sandbox mmo. Probably the best way I've seen it done since ultima online.
Unfortunately it was made by two guys in a shack in sweden, so it was severely lacking in content. And had a few balance issues. And although I understand it was the intent, there were way too little penalties for being a griefing outlaw.
Still, I was part of the /vg/ guild when we were building our guild house and whatnot. Was one of the best adventures I've ever had with /vg/
Knight/priest hit with so little power it was basically worthless. Knight/mage had some really neat aoe and anti-hit (shocked enemies on strike) but it just didn't generate aggro
knight/ranger or whatever it was had like 4 pure aggro skills and tons of aoe.
I was king for a while man. One of the top tanks on my server. Guildless, people called on me and 2 other dudes to go raiding all the time.
The one thing
the ONE THING that was good about RoM?
Fun as fuck
i just want to experience it all over again.
I still log on to watch the monthly PvP finals every so often.
It was a pretty decent game except for the fact that level like, 90+ was SUCH A BORE HOLY FUCK
The other stuff I can handle but jesus titty fucking christ anything above 90 was so boring
>Played this on a shitty Dell
>Infinite loading before a match starts.
Is there another MMO with a fantasy setting like this?
I was just about to post something about DOMO. Glad to know it's still remembered by some other folks.
I loved the hell out of this game. I played with a lot of random English players I met online in the Japanese version, then migrated to the global version when it came out. I think the artstyle had a lot to do with it, as I love cel-shading.
You could also fly, which at the time wasn't very common in MMOs.
I dunno man I remember I tried to get back to it too but just noped hard at the thought of doing even a level.
I was lvl 54 I think when I left, sorcerer on Katar, waht about you?
Rakion was so fucking good, holy shit.
I played a warrior and went... I want to say berserker? Something that used a 2h axe and had a myriad of charge moves and CC.
It was kind of a neat concept, and I liked the pet system, but everything else was ass
I just want
I just want somebody to pick it back up
develop a little content for it
and cut the P2W, sell it for like 15 bucks.
I played a grabmage. Ice block was so fucking broken let me tell you what
>ice line on somebody who's standing right at a ledge
Aw hell, I meant in PVP mainly. You basically couldn't kill them with the heals and debuffs and shit.
Knight + Ranger was where all the damage was at.
I loved me some guild vs guild battles, commanding the newbies to stay at the back and collect crystals and shit, and watching them all panic and scatter when a rogue popped up.
>Some blacksmith goes chaos too
>On that map that's a small square surrounded by lava
>he tries to do a swing and places himself on the edge
>1 left click
>He's dead as the biggest hp soak ever
WHY IS THIS PAGE NOT IN ENGLISH
ANON TELL ME WHAT TO DO
HOW DO I MAKE MY DREAM A REALITY
9 Dragons had awesome as fuck female player models back in the day. Had many a good fap. Especially that female assassin faction, that whole faction was purely made to be eye candy.
Loved Tibia before the skulls system ruined PvP and before botting was entirely prevelant.
The page is in English, but I'll help anyways.
The game's been approved to be put on steam, but isn't on there yet. Keep checking the front page for the next month (best case scenario) and it'll pop up at some point.
I still consider Mabinogi to be almost the best MMO out there, if Nexon didn't have some bullshit shenanigans. Loved how you could enjoy the game just hanging out doing non-monster-grinding shit and still develop your character. And the combat was interesting too.
Is Exteel a MMO?
>tfw when you will never again come across a random portal again and take it and see what crazy hijinks it will lead you too
Holy crap, it's still being developed too.
Looks like they even have my old login account. Shame I don't have access to that email any more, and can't remember the password.
I'd find the greenlight page and give it a like or whatever you do with greenlight games, and I think you'll get a message saying when it's been added to the catalog
I bet no one has played this. This game was what taught me how to type. I'm a little surprised that it's still up and running (and charging 15/month, no less!)
I can't believe this piece of shit is still around.
you've got no other choice. sprite-based mmos have been dying out
maplestory and latale are the only ones rage come to kind. however the former is still run by jews and the latter is relatively dead
>MMOs only you played
>everyone on /v/ has played it
You guys are shit tier when it comes to niche MMOs. you'll never guess this one
After that me and my friends found out about Diablo 2 and we spent years and years on that. Was some good fun tho. Lots gankers as well.
>tfw christmas events
Tabula rasa,I miss it in retrospect.
Would play on private server.
That shit was bonkers in South America. Nowadays any kid with ports forwarded hosts a private server of that shit with 9999x exp, Bless bug and stores selling Box of Kundun.
>it's like GunBound but on 3D!
I checked back a year later and it was already dead.
I bought that ps2 expansion thing for this
I saw some footage of AC2, was instantly amazed by this MMO concept, which was new to me at the time, wanted to play it but never did it.I would love to time travel back and play AC, SWG and DAoC
Anyone play Terraworld online?
Baking, mining, and fishing forever, yo
slick as fuck controls, tense and chill soundtrack, simple yet full of customization with decals and whatnot
if there was a private server I'd be playing the living shit out of it any day of the week
The best part of Metin2, but not the most enjoyable, was the item upgrading system.
It was terribly luck based, and it prevented god-tier items from flooding the market, while making the great stuff pretty famous.
If only there was a way to make them without having to spend $100s on the cash shopfor Blessing Scrolls, it would be better.
Good idea, poorly implemented.
It wasn't even finished, or atleast it had really small area. But I still loved it.
>tfw so many friends back then
>tfw barely talk to the remaining couple I still have contact with
I wasted so many of my teenage days on this shit.
>tfw NEXON ruined Dungeon Fighter Online
this was the last day DFO was online
>have EO girlfriend
>says she loves me, and has to go
>never saw her online again
If I only had 2 guys that would play random shit with me.Like we would pick every month a random MMO and just do leveling.Call me autistic or not but I really love just venturing over yonder, do pointless questing, exploring the world, enjoying the atmosphere.
They brought it back a while ago. I can't remember the name of it but it was entirely dead. Soul Savior I think? Either way not worth the time unfortunately.
Dueling people on those tightropes above the main city as a claw rogue was a fucking blast in OBT though.
Wonderking took its place for me for a while until it died too, then I tried going back to maplestory but the updates had ruined it and nexon had gone beyond jew mode.
Really wish they'd make a good 2d PVP mmo again...
Only played for the focus on large scale battles, sieges, naval battles and whatnot
Completely forgot the image
Shitty grindfest pay to win bullshit.
And I loved every second of it.
Did they change the way combat works in mabinogi? I had played it a few years ago and just tried it again a few weeks ago and it seemed really different.. more skill spammy.. but maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Also: Neosteam and Uncharted Waters Online.
Darkages was really awesome for a `14 year old with no friends, GG.
Me, my ex, his brother, and another friend used to play different mmos every few weeks. We'd usually quit because most of them suck and at higher levels you have to pay to win. But it was ok, we had fun trying them out together.
That was the best time of my life. All over with now since he dumped me. :(
back when it was owned by outspark, i wasted a lot of time on this, its on steam now
I don't know why but Metin 2 was super popular where I live. Everyone of my friends and their grandma played it. I honestly don't want to know how many hours I put into this game.
The game itself was utter shit, but the community made up for it.
Had best ... everything? Graphics was my own imagination - just like playing the book.
The combat was fun as hell, better than terra and mabinogi.
Too bad it had a shitty publisher.
Flyff was THE SHIT
And that amazing music too
There is a 0% chance of anyone in this thread having ever played Talisman Online but I will still ask: HAS ANYONE IN HERE EVER PLAYED TALISMAN ONLINE?
It's called Soul Saver Online now. Haven't played this version, but the forums seem to be in a sad state. Barely anyone posts on the forums, all posts are about people whining about getting banned and the updates/news articles on the website seem half assed/bad. It's probably just a matter of time before they close that game as well because of a lack of players.
A game made by a company that runs the most retardedly P2W MUD in existence. Korea has nothing on these guys.
Anyone else expecting Neople to pull a "Dungeon Fighter Online is back with a brand new Arad!", especially how mixed the Arad revamp was?
you can't download RYL 2 without your computer thinking its a trojan any more rip.
>game was slowly dying thanks to cash items being OP and shitty servers
>company gets disbanded and assimilated
>suddenly even more OP cash items, shitty new weapons, shitty new maps and just half-assed content
Goodnight sweet prince...
My ten year old self produced a lot of shitty music on this. It was still pretty fun though for what basically amounted to a huge advertisement for Coke.
Just logged in again. Fuck I was stronk.
Well, its for the best at this point...
Fuck ignited games
Mortal Online early beta or whatever the fuck it was. I played it for a lot longer than I probably should have
I sucked so much at it but because dreadnought naval warfare gives em the most raging of boners I had to play it
They 'fixed' this game, which is what caused me to stop playing.
It used to be that you could level up your 'skill level' mostly independently of your 'character level' by fighting very low-level enemies while unarmed. What that means is that you were able to get skills and upgrades for your character that were intended to be unlocked at a much higher character level. So you could be level 7 or 8, and have the health, mana, and skills of a level 100+ character.
It was built in unreal engine I think. Not entirely sure why they added visible feet as a feature
>YOU WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THE SUBWAY EVER AGAIN
>YOU WILL NEVER SEE TWO LEVEL 126 PvPERS DUKE IT OUTSIDE THE SUBWAY PORTAL
>YOU WILL NEVER SEE RETARDED LOWBIES PICKING UP EVERYTHING SOMEONE WILL BE DROP TRAINING
Fuck, I'm depressing
Morningthaw reporting in.
I'll suck the dick of anyone that played this beautiful master piece.
Good times... was just listening to the soundtrack the other day
>tfw DJMax and S4 League are dead
I'm actually surprised this game has survived almost 20 years, with all the botting, the pvp now being pretty much a potion chugging contest instead of being actually fun and bots everywhere, hell, some servers are ruled by them and turned into botters goldmines (Trimera and Ocera)
And what does Cipsoft does to control this? in-game premium accounts and more microtransactions including exclusive mounts instead of dealing with all this shit, seriously, they is the perfect example of how not to deal with bot players.
>How come every arena fighter but Lost Saga is dead?
Lost Saga might as well be dead. Shit got really bad over the years, no one even fights anymore they just sit in rooms, grinding up points.
Medium mode Ys Online.
MUDs really are superior to MMOs in almost every regard save controls. I think this one would be the best one I've played. It's not my favourite, but it's the biggest one out of my favourites. I prefer the mechanics of some other MUDs (Shadows of Isildur, AtonementRPI/ParallelRPI, the cyberpunk one), but it's not much off a game when you know every player personally.
Oh man, I goddamn love the S4/DJMAX soundtrack.
>follow the game's 3D modeler
>says he would love to work on a sequel to S4 and keeps talking about how no company just lets him make what he wants to make
>follow S4's original artist
>he's a starving artist constantly depressed
They drove this game so far into the ground but, I miss it a lot.
This shit right here, i really hope someone here knows what game is this.
Impossible mode Ferentus (English) / Herrcot (German) / Xiones (Korean).
I remember playing this briefly.
I also played Rift and some other MMO I forget the name of, but got pretty bored of both fairly quickly.
I remember playing with /v/ and /m/ so not necessarily related to this thread but still mostly related
I know, but this game was so fucking good, the battle system was fucking great, that fucking snake way, fuck, everything was perfect, i tried finding the game again some years later but i was unsuccessful.
I really like it too.
Maybe it can rebound, but I think they missed their window to make a mark. It needed more time in the oven. Basically where its supposed to be with the new "Big patch" is where it shouldv'e been at launch.
Theres only like 3 high pop servers. They SAID they have something coming, maybe a megaserver or like a server merge but I don't know.
Bums me out, man.
That shit is only alive whenever you can get overpowered Moebots easily and whenever Bazaar happens.
>mfw getting the Katalina and Resha cards with 1x rolls
I think i was just a retarded child but I could NEVER figure out how to get past like the first tileset.
I remember doing the same thing over, and over, and over, and NOTHING CHANGING EVER.
Did I have to put money in it or something?
Never seen this game mentioned before. It was perfect for me until Nexon ruined it.
You probably know about this already, but it should be one of these: http://www.topmudsites.com/forums/mudlist.html?do=main&mudname=dragonball
Chances are it's either empty or offline now. What was the combat system like? Maybe I can recommend you something similar.
I remember playing on some OT which claimed to have balanced additional vocations, but turned out to have a voc that gained more mana per level than sorcerer, more health per level than knight and had like 10 mana cheap heal with infinite potency, ie. healed you fully every time.
I got banned later for throwing out something in the depot and the invisible admin saw it.
>tfw I literally became a PvP legend just so I can get that stupid rule 63 version of Jikun with the panda hat from the sexbot gachapon
Her rates were ridiculous back then
>PK all over the place
>epilepsy inducing beautiful spells
>The best pve/pvp event in any mmo 4 times a day
>Half action half/tab targeting
>Sweet knockback system based on hp pool/damage
>battlegrounds and arena in my korean MMO
Ruined by Nexon.
I remember trying to get Lab Rouche, but I only got China Jikun and School Elisalotte
>School Elisalotte doesn't have full AURA parts
I miss this so much. Please come back.
I wish there were more people who had played it so I could gush about how much I loved this piece of shit.
probably literally no one in this thread i guarantee.
Lawolf and Aibatt is nowadays Tanuki. You can get max level in a day if you know what you are doing, and giant/dungeon hunting is almost pointless.
There's few players that uses at least 1k$ month to this piece of shit
Honestly never heard of this anywhere outside of it's website.
It does so much right, man. All it did was prove that people don't actually wanna have to grind for their shit, they want to see all the content easily.
Luckily they're pretty much removing raid attunement so that will be the case.
But if there was no attunement at launch? Game would still be booming.
I played that. I liked how the abilities weren't heavily restricted to cds and mana, but there was a serious lack of variety in abilities and the game got just as grindy as any other korean mmo.
I was always on Unholy Nation. Too bad that's basically dead and it's now a facebook game for kids to dates or whatever.
I'm litterally the only person that ever played this.
Shame it went to P2W bullshit.
Dungeons and Dragons Online
I started playing with coworkers and it was fun. Eventually we drifted apart, one worked overseas for 6-months straight, real life came around, etc... and they stopped showing up and wanting to play.
I started dating a woman and said once "I can't play tonight, I'm going to meet someone" and then it was "oh, anon has better stuff to do than hang out with us"
Pretty hypocritical of them in my book but the game was still fun and I thought it was improving. I jump into the F2P account just for the nostalgia but someday I might resume my paid account to check out my characters.
Fuck i fucking loved requiem, then S2 came and fucking dumbed the whole game down so hard it was fucking retarded. Classes went from having like 30+ skills to like 15 at the max
Argentum Online. Argentinian MMO filled with tons of different classes. Overall is shit
Played Dransik too, it was neat as fuck.
YOU COULD PLANT BANANA TREES
Tried finding it later on because back then i couldnt read english and it changed name to Ashen Empires.
Looks like shit these days though, but back then, damn
Anyone? Made by NCSoft, but then got shut down (along with exteel, tabula rasa, city of heroes ffs...)
I kind of miss it.
The Matrix Online had a great atmosphere, it was a very immersive game.
Btw, a bunch of people are working on a server emulator for several years, maybe I'll be able to play it again soon.
Holy fuck we do live in the matrix
u gota be shitting in my ass it's still alive
Thanks, i'm gonna take a look later.
It was "reaction based"? You had 4 attack and 6 defenses, you typed the hotkey for the attack you wanted, for example, low kick, the opponent had 1 second, kinda, to choose the right defense, in this case jump or low block, or he would take damage, jump would easily evade if i'm not wrong but timed right blocks could parry shit, i think it was different for each attack, and do a counter, it was pretty intense and the game being open PvP was fucking great.
Way too lazy to search the thread, but I hope some of you fuckers played this.
Griefing was so fun since people lost their shit on death and "peace zone" was not a real thing
If you were into super strict roleplaying rules , this game was the shit.
Did anyone play Astonia III? I love the art style, too bad the game was already dead when I started playing it.
fuck, I loved rift but I left when the devs went batshit insane with their balance patches
>the entire point of the game is mixing and matching talent trees to make cool shit
>devs decide to systematically nerf fucking everything on every class until there's only 1 viable spec for each class/role combination.
I don't know what possessed them to do it or if they ever went back and fixed it later but I couldn't deal.
>at a time when even the forums agree that mages are the weakest class, no reason to bring a mage to a raid except for buffs
>patch comes out, everyone's expecting buffs
>nerfs mages EVEN MORE
shit was baffling
I remember playing this some time ago
Yeah, it's dead. Rhialto said that he was going to be coding a new one, but Arilou says that he's dropped it. I don't know what to believe.
I just want my favorite game back.
>choosing to be the scum that held back XI
Not sure how many people here played SWG before it turned to shit with the updates and expansions but it was the most amazing experience. I get sad when I think of what happened to it. SOE would have been still making good money if they just left it alone.
I really fucking loved having a Pran. Even shilled over some money for some outfits and shit for it.
everything about the base game in Rift was amazing. I don't know if they changed devs or the starting devs just lost their minds or what, but I loved how the game started out and hated every patch pretty much across the board.
>doing dps as assassin
>oh fuck this dungeon run's over
>EXCEPT WAIT A MINUTE
>respec to bard
>LET ME SING YOU THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE
I think it's still playable. If you don't ragequit from warfront because of Stormcallers and their annoying channels that brings you to 0 hp in 3 seconds. I play beastmaster/warlord but hate being a support. I'd like to be able to stand toe to toe against clerics (druid/paladin).
Puzzle Pirates, anyone?
Aw man, some of my favorite game memories were in Wyvern. I remember going to jail for attacking a butterfly, using the camera to take photos of the jail, and subsequently begging fuckers to bail me out. It was pretty much my first experience with saying the wrong shit in tightly knit communities, oh the drama was unreal. I remember grinding in the beehive with my dwarf buddy. Dodging everything as a Rakshasa, then getting rekt by a Pixie in the arena who leveled nothing but whips and the the skill that you use to summon a whip. Oh man, I remember getting together with four buddies to try to maul a shopkeeper to death, all the pro players respected me for my super suped up fire sword. One even said I was the best of the four there.
I didn't play exactly at release. My friend did who is a huge star wars nerd. He said it was really buggy and you were able to do things like kill the npc vendors in peoples' houses. Also you would be able to own like 3 rancors as a creature handler and wreck havoc on people. It was fine when I got it 6 months after release though. No complaints.
There was a short period in my life where I played Rubies of Eventide with a friend. It was my first MMO experience outside of pseudo-MMOs like PSO. I think I only played the thing for maybe two months at most before dropping it.
I bet no one here played Earth & Beyond. It was basically Everquest in space.
me and my brother would use the exploit to make a shit ton of money in the mornings before school. was fucking hilarious cause we bought everything that people sold and got them mad.
played a muscleman and killed the Paoxiao King by spamming wolf. so many dead bodies in that cave it was awesome.
