Could we have a creepy stuff in vidya thread?
Wether it's actual things, easter eggs, glitches or even rumours.
I remember exploring the SA world trying to find this shit
I remember trying to find Bigfoot and my friend and I seeing the pile of corpses in the wilderness
Fuck we need more games that has urban legends and shit
This was way too fucking intense for my younger self
>The wampas terrifying screams
>The junkyard level with the robot boss, the fucking sounds
>THE FUCKING SEWERS
>Going through the dark stairway leading to a sewer
>Out of oil for my lantern, hear a deceased voice tell it's tale
>Hear squirming crawling creatures below in the dark, along with a faint tune of some sort
>Kill the worm creatures, making my way through
>Fucking Death comes around a corner along with an Elder Ogre spawning shortly
I love you Dragon's Dogma:DA
>All that terrain that exists out of map in fallout:NV
This scares me a little, all that area, that vast area.
This one is more about a whole game, the infamous Sonic The Hedgehog 2006.
What the fuck happened to that game? At E3 2005 they showed off a bunch of features but then they mysteriously got scrapped and old data was left in that had no point (Sonic's energy bar, for example). And then all of the empty space, the water looking very eerie in the jungle and kingdom levels, the millions of mysterious bugs that randomly triggered. I think of /x/ shit when I'm reminded of Sonic 2006, its amazing how much went wrong with that development.
It didn't turn out to be true.
I've never seen this. I know there's 2 bodybags in the desert but I've never seen anything like this in the forest
You're scaring me man
>Be playing Spore
>Fucking around in the creature stage
>Walk down into the water
>Hey cool, I can swim
>All of a sudden this massive beast emerges with a huge sound and eats me, causing me to fly up out of my chair almost shit the chinese wall
Being afraid of water didn't make it better, I was not expecting it at all
>"It was there to serve as an abandoned location to find tech based materials, nothing official story wise. I figured there was probably at least one crazy person near Vegas who would have had their own pirate radio station. He was the Lone Wolf against the world/government/etc… The guy who always has some conspiracy theory going on that he has to share with the world. (The inspiration for it came from when I was at the University of Oregon, every Saturday there was a guy who stood on a corner of the campus where everyone walked by. He had a personal microphone and speaker and would just babble on and on about one government conspiracy theory or the other. The radio shack was what I imagined he would have put together if he upgraded from travel speaker to pirate radio)." - Dini Mcurry
The ambience in Minecraft. Thank you based Notch for putting a volume slider for it. Having read about herobrine didn't help either.
>inb4 autist for playing MC and getting scared by crappypasta
The Ocean Hotel in VtM:B. Fuck that stupid fucking building, I'm a goddamn vampire, why is Casper the friendly faggot scaring me?
the general uneasy feeling in Dishonored (might only apply to me, though)
in Misery for stalker CoP, when you're in Pripyat, the city speaks to you.
the ambiance in Zaton and Jupiter consists of mutant roars, HMG and rifle fire, anomaly sounds and some revving pretty standard, nothing spooky.
in Pripyat, there are occasionally mutant roars and gunfire still, but often (very often, but obviously not all the time) the city whispers to you. it's never intelligible. like the Monolith (which totally exists btw fuck Strelok) or the combine Psy-fields of the dead city are so strong that the city speaks.
when I first arrived in Pripyat with the squad and joined with the Military, it creeped me out big time.
I find it calming now. almost soothing. sometimes when I feel like it I'll travel to Pripyat, climb up to the apartment southwest of River Port where I keep a stash, and just sit alone and wait for the city to whisper. like it's telling me its secrets.
>sometimes i feel like i don't have a partner
>sometimes i feel like my only friend
>is the city i live in, the city of pripyat
>lonely as i am, together we cry
GTA IV: Ratman is one of two things, a literal rat man, who is described as being a tall, half-man half-rat creature who will attack the player, or a hobo that can run very quickly and likes to stay out of sight. Both types report the same actions. Running away into a tunnel or nearest station, sometimes shouting "I am Ratman!" to the player. The myth all started when a photo (shown here) was put on the internet what looked like a half rat half man. Some people believe the photo is fake and it is photoshopped or it is too blurry to tell what it is. But there is a lot of evidence that proves Ratman is real. If the player goes to the Easton Subway Service entrance in Easton, Algonquin, and heads downstairs, there will be a strange orange liquid on the floor that is rumored to be blood. In fact, several of these little orange pools of liquid can be found in various places nside the underground subway system. There is also more of this "Ratman Blood" on the Abandoned Hospital's roof. Some say it's old, dried-up blood from hospital victims that died on that specific area.
In the DLCs, if you watch TV, a Weazel News segment will say the mayor is going to flood the subways due to a rat infestation. Also if you use a computer and go on Craplist to the jobs section, there will be an ad for "Human Lab Rats".
It is said that Ratman appears when players least expect it, and is faster than a NRG900. He can also disappear whenever he wants, according to some reports. Also, somewhere on the map, there is some graffiti on the wall that happens to look like a man with a rat's head.
Many players have made connections between Darkel from GTA III, and Ratman, and they have even theorized that Ratman is actually Darkel, although this is impossible because GTA III and GTA IV take place in seperate alternate universes (GTA III is in the 3D universe, GTA IV is in the HD universe). People reported seeing Ratman in dark tunnels just like players from GTA 3 reported seeing Darkel.
The game in general spooked me a lot as a kid.
>Spooky atmospheric music
>Sharks and jellyfish and shit trying to kill you
>Jumpscare when you jump out of the water in the first level
>The constant chance of drowning
>"It is said that Ratman appears when players least expect it, and is faster than a NRG900. He can also disappear whenever he wants, according to some reports. Also, somewhere on the map, there is some graffiti on the wall that happens to look like a man with a rat's head."
That sucks, that screenshot is /x/ tier shit of wonderment and insanity. The thought of a deformed human/rat guy murdering in sewers and lurking around dirty places is nightmare fuel
I know it's a horror game, but still:
>Silent Hill 2
>Go into women's restroom
>Knock on bathroom stall
>Start approaching the door
>Suddenly hear a loud as fuck scream from the stall
>NOPE my way out of there
What was in there, /v/? I went back in there and it just did the same thing, but god damn.
Gross exaggeration, man.
They just have landmarks from prior games, like Red Mountain and the White Gold Tower.
There is quite some land outside boundaries, but not nearly "all of Tamriel."
FUCK THE TRAINS
FUCK THAT ROBOT BOSS
HOW DID I EVEN PLAY THIS
All I can literally remember is the confusing fucking levels and THOUSANDS of times I fell to my fucking death. How the fuck did I play this shit when I was a child
Since we're on the topic, I'd like to say that The NES Godzilla Creepy pasta is one of the most fucking retarded things I've ever read. I saw a list on some other creepy vidya thread that listed it pretty high, except you were suppose to ignore the ending. But the idea of Godzilla being chased by a monster is fucking retarded. Why would they pick this game to make this pasta out of.
fuck san andreas' myth kept me up at nights
i remember me and my friend would set on the perma midnight cheat because we were told we had to and we'd go bigfoot hunting. it made the game a horror game in itself, always on edge.
even after i realized it was all bullshit i never let on and even lied just so we could keep doing it
If you find her dirty little secret, it tells of
her working at an orphanage that burned down, and she is haunted by the terrorizing screams and voices of those children, along with their ghosts in the flames watching you in the caged area
we talking about xilla here right?
>go search for the ghost on the mountain
>gather clues on where to find it
>hear that it only appears at night
>camp out at the spot where it is supposed to appear
>sun already set, only a few more minutes
>suddenly I'm dead
fucking cougars man. I still jumped a little
It only happened once, but I remember a robber came over the same night after one of those calls. That freaked me the fuck out for a long time.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Shadow of Chernobyl for example, labs with poltergeist, and when something starts pounding on the door from the other side when you approach.
Then you open it, and turns out it's nothing.
Also, in Call of Pripyat there was a door behind which you could hear a child crying,
if you open it, you get attacked by a Burer who was mimicking it.
I actually figured out what ratman was by accident. While dicking around in the subway, I discovered some creepy fucking homeless man crouch walking around. Only once did this happen, and I played a lot of this fucking game. Every ratman video I have seen is just some silhouette of a crouch walking asshole. I am fucking confident it's just some random nigger.
>once find a sewer system in Fallout 3 full of raiders
>none of them attack me or even move, they're all frozen as if they were already fighting something when I came in
>if I go up to them I can search them as if they're already dead
>if I hit any part of them that part falls away, already detached but just suspended in midair until my interaction
>there are no other enemies around
>one of those spastic black glitched ragdolls right above my head, lording over its preserved victims as it twitches like something out of Jacob's Ladder
I actually stumbled onto this nigga one time, I was bored and riding my motorbike into the tunnels and saw this crouching asshole but he took off like a rocket and I tried to chase him down but he vanished when I turned a corner
it's really sad to think the days of vidya rumors are over.
if there was a rumor for something spooky, it would either be confirmed by eight bazillion forums or it would be shown to not exist anywhere in the files.
bums me out.
Stand name: Freewheel Burning
This stand manifests as an image of it's user doing everyday things, mostly it is eating a doughnut. Whoever looks upon the stand, be it another stand even, will be plagued by horrifying visions. These visions can even touch, scream and hurt you severely. Freewheel Burning can and will attack the target also directly after possessing the victim's mind.
>That's funny how all of those are in GTA V.
They took all the fun and mystery away from them, though. They just fucking handed us those things instead of leaving them to be found.
Yeah something about brain crashing after few days when you see something similar.
Which is fucking retarded because I experienced nothing of the sorts even though I remember seeing the same picture some time ago.
I didn't even think that was the scariest part of that game.
What freaked me out was climbing the asylum. Freakish architecture, those fucking rats coming out of nowhere, and the way Sheegor would keep popping up in the corner of my eye.
These fuckers right here. The janky way they moved and their metal screeching.
im here for gamer gate. we are here for you 4Chan
My guess is a little from column A and a little from column B.
It probably was some abandoned content, but it probably didn't involve child killing.
As for why it was abandoned? Probably the usual reasons. Lack of time, maybe it wasn't fun. Interfered with other things, totally bugged or too much work.
Do people seriously not recognize this fucking series? Jesus christ, it even says "BLACKJACK" in the bottom left; even if you hadn't played this shit you would have heard half of /v/ mocking the reboot last year.
I swear the voice of one of the combines is the guy who makes that furry game with the fighting rabbits "if you'd like to preorder blabla", you know, work of one who consorts with beasts? It is him isnt it? Has to be.
Probably not, it is not far off from the starting area of Goodsprings, meaning that it would have been incredibly easy to stumble upon it upon the first hour of the game, and getting a perk or a reward for such a thing would probably throw a wrench into the gameflow.
You had to kill them twice. Don't even pretend you saw that coming the first time around.
I honestly don't know which would be worse, seeing one reform in front of you or not seeing it come back until it was tearing out your spine.
