Hey, remember that deal a year ago where the Dtoid journo got fired for exposing a fraudulent "life saving surgery" crowdfunding as a means to sex-change operation?
That Allistair guy?
Well, apparently the infamous "GameJournoPros" had a big part in it.
>But it was just a couple of friends talking about the profession!
Yeah nah, not when you collude to fire and blacklist a man from an entire industry.
Remember when you people said you were leaving 17 days ago?
guy makes some indie game
guy then starts a crowdfund for a life-saving surgery.
Dtoid journo reports on it, leading to spikes in funds.
Dtoid journo then finds out the surgery is not a life-saving one, it's just a sex change operation.
Reports on it and apologizes for misleading people before.
Gets blasted by trans people, fired from Dtoid, and blacklisted from any other vidya site. (Bossman of Dtoid colluded with other journos in the GameJournoPro about that part)
Well, his fault for covering a surgery in the first place without proper research. I'd be butt blasted as well if I was his the owner of the website he made the report. He actually made people throw money on something useless, no ammount of apologize can fix that
Imagine yourself covering a event in a huge newspaper that will sell water.
When people go to said event, they are selling sand.
You would get fired. Probably not able to work on a journalism career again.
Probably, but he probably had a problem with him covering something wrong.
No, the Bossman had a problem with him exposing the issue to gamers, he said so quite clearly.
He had no problem with the charity going on and people getting scammed out of their money.
