Hey guys let's put Mario in Smash
Here's his moveset!!
throws out Bowser, his main enemy
throws out a Goomba, a common enemy
throws out two Koopa Troopas
Throws mushrooms and flowers and leafs and invincible stars
Shits out a triforce
Sounds shitty doesn't it?
BUT THIS IS HOW PACMAN IS DESIGNED
>pacfaggots will defend this
That's because Pac Man has nomoves. They had almost nothing to work with because all Pac Man does is eat dots.
If you want to see a third party character designed with love for which literally nothing was made up, I direct you to Mega Man.
I kinda agree. the bonus fruit is ok but the front smash should have been a chomp attack. Him shooting out ghosts maybe should have only been reserved for the down b. maybe they could have the slingshot from pacman 2. I don't get the relevance of the hydrant. maybe if they wanted him to be representative of classic namco arcade games and dig dug themed attack would have been cool.
>all Pac-Man does is eat dots
I swear it's like people ignore the fact that the Pac-Man World trilogy exists. There's several moves that could have been pulled from those games.
Pacman is supposed to represent Namco's arcade years ya dingus. His moveset is just fine.
>I wanted Ashley
You were better off letting people think you wanted Ridley.
Yeah, thank god we got Wii Fit Trainer, Dark Pit, Nameless dog and Nameless FE Tactician instead of Chrom, Black Knight, Mewtwo or Ashley.
>Why is that a thing?
It's a reference to Pac-Land, one of the first sidescrolling platformers before Mario made the genre super popular. Hell Pac-Land is even a stage in the Wii U version.
>not wanting retarded characters in the roster means you're a shill
Call me whatever you want, you're the one who wanted Ashley playable.
Wii Fit Trainer is one of Nintendo's most recognizable characters to the casual audience
Robin is the main character of FE:A and has a very unique moveset, Chrom would just be another swordsman
You call Duck Hunt Duo nameless yet you want characters like Ashely and Black Night
>instead of Chrom, Black Knight, Mewtwo or Ashley
Literally anybody else would have been better than those. Even sakurai thinks so, since none of them are in.
>I wanted Ashley
I'm sorry. sir. Retarded pedophiles are not welcome in this thread.
>people want a boring standard moveset for Pac-Man instead of the very unique and fun one we got
Hydrant and fruits are godlike.
There's not a whole lot Pac-Man can do, especially since apparently Namco only wanted shit from the arcade era. I admit, I don't like how the ghosts are suddenly on his side either, but considering the constraints they had to work with I'd say his moveset's pretty damn good.
Also the hydrants are from Pac-Land, you dumb fuck.
>minor character in a spinoff of a spinoff of a spinoff gets an AT
>main characters from other games get jack shit
>someone took the time to model a minor character in a spinoff of a spinoff from scratch
>just for this epic FYI troll
FUCK YOU SAKURAI I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE
Pac-Man gives other Namco games some needed some representation.
If the entirety of every notable Mario game was avoiding/defeating the four-man enemy team that is Bowser, Goomba, and two Koopa Troopas, it would be similar. Pac-Man is much more closely linked thematically to his enemies, because there are only four of them and they're always presentchasing you, than Mario is to goombas and koopas.
If Mario was a guest character in another company's game, having a move that tossed around Nintendo memorabillia wouldn't seem out of place either. Pac-Man is representing Namco in it's entirety.
>Shits out a triforce
Confirmed bait, keep moving everyone.
My point wasn't that his moveset would have been better than the one he has now, it was that those games show that Pac-Man has done more than just "eat dots" in the past.
The fuck do you mean Tomba 2? That was a playstation game.
that's not fucking 'trolling', you dipshit.
He wouldn't announce a newcomer in a pic of the day without giving them a fucking newcomer page. Anybody who got 'trolled' by that is a fucking dipshit.
And they did pull the Flip Kick animation from it as his up-Air. I'm just disappointed the Hip Drop is nowhere to be seen here.
I'm happy for what they did with him, except that his smashes don't feel very right.
Pacman is less of his own character and more of a celebration of his arcade roots. He's an ambassador for all arcade games and his play style reflects that OP. if you have a problem with that, well I simply don't know what to say other than
SETTLE IT IN SMASH YOU COCKMUNCHER
These guys got 'trolled'
They all own Nintendo systems
Are they dipshits too?
>Are they dipshits too?
gee, i fucking wonder
>What a huge betrayal by Sakurai.
>I bet pacman is going to get in while good characters like Ashley rot.
What the fuck's the appeal behind Ashley? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see another WarioWare rep but even then Mona would be far more likely since she's more relevant.
>HINT: Nintendo is going bankrupt
>The 3DS version sold over a million copies in its first weekend on sale in Japan, and has sold more than 2.8 million copies worldwide as of October 7, 2014
Thats just for the watered down gimped 3ds version too. Nintendo isn't going anywhere child.
People expect her to have a unique moveset due to her being a witch/magician, which Smash lacked before 4.
With Palentua and Robin added, we have more magic now. The only reason to need her now is because you want more Warioware reps, which would better be filled by Mona or 9-volt.
She's a goth loli. That's it.
I love WarioWare, but adding anyone from it (besides Wario himself, of course) as a playable character is fucking stupid. Even in their own series, their presence is restricted to a few cutscenes.
At worst they'll withdraw from home consoles and just continue being the top dog when it comes to portable gaming
which means no ICs in Smash ever again :^)
Which is never. They'll always be the kings of handheld and with handheld games getting more and more popular in Japan Nintendo will always have enough money to stay afloat.
Wish i could say the same about Sony. :^)
>In the latest of a series of downgrades to its earnings outlook, Sony said it expected to post a loss of ¥230 billion ($2.15 billion)—almost five times what it forecast four months ago—for the current fiscal year as it wrote down the book value of its mobile communications unit.
You want this candy Timmy? YOU WANT IT YOU YOU YOU WANT IT FAGGOT?
FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU CAN'T HAVE IT! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I want my candy
I'd actually prefer that, since they'd probably stick to PCs and then I wouldn't have to buy any new consoles to play their games.
I think she got a fanbase because 1) she's a cute loli and 2) she really wants friends which allows neckbeards to fantasize about befriending her.
>corrected not even a minute later
haha wow sakurai's such a le epic troll where his reddit account so i can upvote him
>Namco is developing the game
>not putting Pac-Man in
I thought you already had a van-full of candy
like Ridley and Geno and others, she had a small but dedicated fanbase, then lots of other idiots latched onto that without realizing why anybody actually wanted the character in the first place
>Duck Hunt pulls out Mexicans from some other game unrelated to Duck Hunt
>Mega Man has le megaman through the generations #RETROGAMER for final smash
Along with Pac-Man, Duck Hunt should have never been in the game. Mega Man should have been altered.
I never asked for her, and I sure as hell wasn't expecting her
But making a FUCKING MODEL FROM FUCKING SCRATCH INSTEAD OF PORTING A MODEL FROM ANOTHER GAME LIKE MIDNA JUST FOR THAT FYI SHIT WAS BULLSHIT I HOPE YOU DIE SAKURAI I SERIOUSLY FUCKING HOPE YOU DIE
Honestly, I can see Duck Hunt, I can play as them, and I've been beaten by them. It still doesn't feel real. They don't look like they belong it the game at all. It just feels fake, like a weird dream.
Most of the models were made from scratch, and I'm sure Midna's was as well. I'm pretty sure the exceptions would have just been the sprite characters, things like Andross, and the Kid Icarus assist trophies, but those last ones will probably at least be improved for the Wii U version.
>ICs cut because of 3DS hardware limitations
>Snake cut because of a strained business relationship between Konami and Nintendo
>Squirtle and Ivysaur cut because the transforming mechanic was cut and neither of them have Mega Evolutions
>Wolf cut because he was a clone character of an overrepresented franchise, and he lacked the tenure that Falco had
>Lucas cut because reasons
Before you say BUT MUH RELEVANCE or BUT MUH CLONES, I will remind you that Duck Hunt, Dark Pit, Lucina, and Dr. Mario are all on the roster.
>Using Yellow Meme Ball
>Not using the Robot Lemon-shooter Man
>Still mad about Duck Hunt
Ice Climbers being cut is bullshit but don't you even dare put Duck Hunt on the same level as Dark Pit.
The mexicans are from Hogan's Alley, another Zapper game. Duck Hunt's supposed to represent the Zapper as a whole. Plus he's a really retro rep like Ice Climbers, G&W, Pit, and ROB, so there's precedence for him. I'm not even sure what you're saying is wrong with Mega Man's final smash. Try using less buzzwords.
Well Mario has a fuckton of powerups that he can pull out and use. You could probably give him like three different movesets entirely. But he's supposed to be the archetypical basic character that's easy to play ala Ryu, so he's made to be boring.
If Star Fox was overrepresented with three reps, then I find it hard to believe that Earthbound deserved two. It has three total games, the creator is done with the series, the last one was years ago, only one of the games was ever localized, and it's ultimately a cult series with a substantial amount of its popularity coming from Ness's inclusion in Smash Bros.
I wanted Lucas back to, but it's understandable that they'd consider it not important. He wouldn't have even been as easy to make as the three other clones because 90% of his A moves were unique. A Lucas costume for Ness would have been nice, though, considering you can already give Ness Lucas's specials.
He could stare blankly at you and then walk off in the wrong direction.
To be honest, I'd rather haver Chrom than Lucina. I mean, Sakurai's argument for not putting Chrom was like "we didn't want another swordsman, so we put Robin instead."
That makes sense, right? But then why add Lucina? A complete clone of Marth? That's hypocrisy
>There are people in this world who don't like Pacman's moves
Pacman serves as a namco showcase, if he didn't he'd probably just play like a mix of kirby and sonic.
That being said, the one move that makes no sense to me is his fire hydrant, just because it's too obscure to be considered a cameo. Fire hydrants were a common obstacle in Pacland and they had very minor significance in Pacman 2 The New Adventures. It seems more like an inside joke than an actual cameo.
The Mappy up B and the boss galaga grab make sense to me. The jelly and yellow galaxian thing are definitely the most obscure. Ultimately I like how Pacman plays because it's unique to the rest of the cast. He has as much variety as Game & Watch except it's all procedural and nothing's random.
They didn't want to invest SUBSTANTIAL dev time on another blue haired swordsman from Fire Emblem, so they made Robin. Lucina was going to be a Marth costume, but they decided to alter her slightly or something ended up happening, and Sakurai's policy was that if they would end up even a little different, they get their own space on the roster.
Why Lucina over Chrom, though, well, it should be obvious why they'd select Lucina as a Marth costume/clone over Chrom, and by the time they decided to make Lucina, Chrom was probably already a part of Robin's final smash
Lucina practically is Marth, it's even implied that she's his reincarnation IIRC. It's one thing to add a Lucina model, but entirely another to design a unique moveset for Chrom, basically wasting time designing another "guy with sword" moveset.
PCs have been gaining popularity as an actual gaming platform again in Japan, so in some hypothetical future where NIntendo goes third-party, I would imagine that'd be their platform of choice. Granted anything can happen
I know that. My point is that he is an hypocrite by saying "this is the reason we didn't add X kind of character" but then, in the same inteverview he said "also we added X kind of character".
Instead of giving dumb excuses, just like his reason for not adding subspace emissary
people upload the cinematics on youtube? really?, why not just shut up?
>Not putting in the most recognizable video game character of all time
He's a hyporite if you have absolutely no contextual awareness. It's obvious from what he said and from circumstance that fleshed out characters and clones are considered differently. He only talked about Chrom with regards to Robin, as a unique character. Lucina, a clone who took no time to develop, is irrelevant.
Damn, you guys are 2fast for me. Anyway, my real problem with Sakurai is this >>268291041
Not that he added Lucina instead of Chrom, but his dumb justification of adding Robin because he didn't want another swordsman, but then adds Lucina, the most swordsman out there.
If you actually think "FYI" was Sakurai taunting you and rubbing it in your face, your butthurt has clouded your perception. You want to see Sakurai being an asshole to justify your anger. He realized after posting that all the Miiverse kiddies would think she's a playable character if he didn't clarify. Same goes for Takamaru.
Because he didn't want another swordsman who would take time and effort to create over a more interesting character with a more unique moveset. He then adds Lucina, who takes no time and effort to create and does not at all contradict his desire to not have their resources being put toward a tehnically unique character who has nothing new to offer to the roster
Meme's have been around since before the internet, you fucking autistic fucking shit.
Can't like Megaman now, since he's the meme that inspired Gutsman's ass
Can't like Mario since he's the meme who started Youtube Poops.
Can't like Sonic because he meme's PINGAS.
Someone from Famicom. Tamagon? Takamaru? Kid Goku? Donbe?
This is like the fifth thread you've made in the past two days hating Pac-Man, you might want to reconsider your life goals and submit to the Pac.
I'm actually okay with the roster but
>get rid of a clone
>put in another Metroid rep
>Dark Samus but with unique moveset
>get rid of Ganondorf
>put in Ganondorf with unique moveset
>get rid of Lucario
>put in a better Pokemon that I'm not sure on yet
>remove Dark Pit
>add Toon Ganondorf or Pig Ganon
What the fuck is wrong with Duck Hunt to you people?
Lucina, Dr. Mario, and fucking Dark Pit I get, but Duck Hunt?
I'm still wondering why fucking Tetris isn't in the Smash series yet. It IS a Nintendo game.
Jesus fucking christ are you stupid?
Nobody is saying pac-man is shit because he has a shitty cartoon. They're just saying he has a shitty cartoon.
You're fucking ridiculous, anon. Please stop posting.,
Just stop posting, you're reading way too much into what people are saying
>one guy implies that the pac-man cartoon is shit based on one scene
>you take this to mean he thinks Pac-man is completely terrible in every way but that every other character with a cartoon is okay
People only wanted Ashley when they realized she existed via Brawl's "Ashley" song (which was a horrible cover and I hate everything about it, why didn't Mike's theme get into SSB4 over it).
Loli-shitters don't actually play Wario Ware, it was literally just the acknowledgement of her existence that made people want her. Like if they were actual Wario Ware fans they'd want someone like Jimmy T, 9-Volt, or Mona. Wario Ware doesn't even NEED another character really, I'd prefer Captain Syrup from Wario Land but that's never gonna happen.
Anyway the point is you loli faggots are literally cancerous and you're lucky Ashley even has an assist trophy. She is in no way as big of a deal as you make her. Fuck you and everything you stand for, iconography is the ultimate reason for Smash characters to be IN Smash. Literally every one of them maybe barring Lucina and Dark Pit are some sort of well known representation of a certain era or piece of Nintendo.
easy to add (literally just recolor pit, record some new voice lines and add one new move), and because of Sakurai's bias
He's shitty but it's not like his being in the game actually makes it worse
don't forget Pit/Dark Pit players
>both of them are comprised in no small part of fujoshi and creepy shotafags
>many Dark Pit players play him because other people don't like him
But the music was catchy as shit and surprisingly well done. Maybe that's not enough to call it great but it's certainly helped me remember it more than the others.
>I'd prefer Captain Syrup from Wario Land
People who like Ashley also ship Waluigi and Ashley together.
>Sakurai will never re-invent the comedy trio with the token hot girl leader with Wario, Waluigi and Syrup for a Smash storyline.
trophies aren't really the same thing as actual playable characters, and I'm hardly making any great criticism of Sakurai over this.
Anybody in charge of a crossover game is bound to be biased in some way, especially towards their own characters.
>Yatterman-2 still works her way into the montage
MS PAC-MAN IS A BETTER GAME THAN VANILLA PAC-MAN
I dunno about Waluigi. I sort of get the perverse pleasure from knowing he'll literally never be in a mainline Wario title.
Like something about Waluigi being a random fuck Wario plays Tennis with is infinitely amusing to me. He's just this guy. This enigma.
Giving him too much spotlight would tarnish the mystery of the Waa.
I'm trying to make a point here. Wario Waluigi and Syrup would be a fucking throw back to old villian teams like that.
And then you can have them cross pathes with the only people still doing the comedic trio of villains.
>THERE ARE STILL RETARDS CRYING ABOUT CLONES
Holy FUCK I knew you guys were retarded but this is just too much. The fact that they're hardly different from their original characters means they didn't take any fucking time to make, so there's no way they're taking up the "slot" of a better character.
That is true, the Pits are probably around Sonic's level.
Though I think everyone can agree that Rosalina, on top of being lame as a general character, is overpowered waifu faggotry.
None of those are like Ice Climbers. Duck Hunt Duo aren't separate from each other. Luma's AI is far less complex since it uses the exact same inputs as Rosalina. Olimar has less Pikmin and they're sprites instead of models, so yes they did get affected by the 3DS.
They're children, it cannot be helped.
>have all these choices
>Lucina, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit.
>mfw hardly anybody played Mappy and recognizes his Up B
I giggled like a god damn schoolgirl, shit.
The duck is nothing more than a weapon, retard. Duck Hunt dog and duck don't do anything disjointed. Pikmin are just throwable items that follow behind you, and Luma has no AI at all besides drifting back to Rosalina.
I like the way you put it, but him bro-ing it up with Wario needs to happen. I'm still mad that they made the game about being a greedy motherfucker getting coins feature Mario.
Also, DAMN. It's just Dark Pit that most have a big problem with.
> Dr. Mario gets a free pass because he was in Melee
> Lucina was actually discussed logically by /v/
I don't know what's going on, but I'm glad we can all agree on something.
To an extent but Nana would often times act on her own, ie if you grab someone then she would start beating on them immediately. And if she got separated from you the AI would take over and she'd act on her own. She's not a total puppet like Luma.
They probably could've simplified her AI but at that point their gimmick is neutered and they weren't ever relevant anyways so not much of a point in making them a priority.
The second Ice Climber is essentially an entire extra CPU controlled player who follows and mimics the player, and can even act independently in some cases and become desynced. Much more complex.
I'm more mad that Nintendo's hardware is so shit it can't handle something the Gamecube could 13 years ago, and the idea of leaving them off the console version because of the 3DS's limitations is simply baffling.
There are just so many reasons to hate him. He's literally a palette swapped character in a game where every character gets palette swaps. He's a clone, both in Smash and in Kid Icarus. He's essentially the Shadow of his franchise. Sakurai seems to get off on shoving his own stuff into the game, etc. etc...
It feels good to be united on this.
Basically how Smash selection goes is, you need to either be made by Nintendo's EAD team, you're a break out hit, or a beloved retro character that hasn't had a follow up in awhile.
I like a lot of choices here actually, like if I could just list a few right now I could make a big case for all of them.
Meowth is way more relevant than someone like Jigglypuff, I say this as a Jigglypuff main too. I love the little creampuff but between the two I'd think Meowth is a better representation of pokemon as a whole.
Takamaru really sort of got a raw deal I think. He's the sister series protag of the original LoZ. The thing is too ... The mysterious Murusame Castle is actually a legit good game. Like very good actually, I love it way more than Zelda one in terms of mechanics. It'd sort of complete that quartet of "1986 characters that had sister series". Your Samus and Pit's, your Link's. Hell, Kid Icarus got in on one game. The original Kid Icarus is horribly dated and plays like ass. I mean I love Uprising but based on the original KI's merits I'm really surprised he's in when his first game was so bad. I can even think how Takamaru would play too, he's a lot about range and survival since his life bar only has three hits and there's always so many enemies onscreen. But the cool thing is he's powerful up close to combat that, he can deflect those bullet hell projectiles and he has sneaky ways of avoiding foes. I think as another "anime swordsman" Takamaru has a lot of potential and I hope his game does well on the Eshop maybe enough to bring back some interest into the series, like maybe just another game. I could live with that and not a Smash roster spot, though I would like one.
Excite Bike is super iconic, and I think adding a "mounted" character would be a super interesting mechanic for Smash. You can say the same for Mach Rider too, he's awesome. I just think Excitebiker is the better choice "image" wise.
Gonna continue these thoughts.
I mean, I don't care. One of my mains is
Lucinabut even I got to admit that Sakurai had some sort of bias for Kid Icarus. Look at the amount of songs and trophies the game has. EVEN THE SONGS ARE CLONES.
I wanted K.Rool and Mach Rider or Excite Bike so much
the bike riders were a really out there wish, but k. rool wasn't so far-fetched, it's just too bad
>Extra resources that could've been put to a clone character people cared about,
That's what's wrong with you Dark Pit whiners.
>i'd prefer my character to get in as a 90% clone and let it be ruined forever instead of letting it pass and inserting it as an original in the sequel
How else do you design a moveset for a guy who eats pellets and ghosts?
He represents Namco as a whole, just like Duck Hunt represents light gun games in general, not just Duck Hunt.
Hey guys let's put OP in Smash
Here's his moveset!!
throws out a heterosexual, his main enemy
throws out a bar of soap, a common enemy
throws out two sets of clean clothes
Throws pizzas and cheetos and mountain dews and doritos
Shits out a prehotglued weeaboo figurine
Sounds faggoty doesn't it?
BUT THIS IS HOW OP IS DESIGNED
>OPfaggots will defend this
Really Dark Pit is just a small part of the greater issue of Kid Icarus bias in the game, Dark Pit is just the easiest part to hate. The Kid Icarus content in the game should have been, at least, cut in half, so that the content could be more evenly distributed.
Reminder if you like Lucina or Dr.Mario and hate Dark Pit, you are a hypocrite.
I understand your pain, OP. But at the same time, I believe he's fine the way he is. There's no use complaining about shit like this.
now if some one could tell that to the sword troopers the world may be a happy place.
>all these clones in the roster
>people complain about fucking pac-man
And after that, likely due to the backlash against Femtwo, it was shoved to the side in favor of promoting Charizard and Lucario.
Mewtwo served its purpose in introducing the audience to Mega Evolutions. Charizard and Lucario are the posterboys for it.
In Brawl it was just Pit and one stage. Got about as much as Ice Climbers did in Melee. Now KI has three characters, six items, two assists, a new stage on both versions, including the biggest stage in Smash history, and more enemies in Smash Run than any other franchise.
The only thing that's changed with the franchise since Brawl is Sakurai made a KI game.
>removing any gen 1 pokemon
Fuck Lucario. He sucks, he's gay. He's furbait. Why is he still in the game he's just a gimmicky/sluggish version of Mewtwo. Mewtwo was way more fun to play as gameplay wise.
Lucario isn't even relevant to anything. He's not even a legendary or fucking viable unless he's in his megaform which isn't all that great either.
The biggest slap in the face is that Mewtwo was removed despite him having a completely unique a fleshed out moveset. I understand taking out Roy and Pichu because they were nearly identical clones, but fucking MEWTWO WAS FUCKING FINE. WHY SAKURAI?
WHY AM I STILL TORMENTED BY THIS BLUE PIECE OF SHIT?
yfw sakurai adds another blue piece of shit just to add insult to injury. Greninja that fucking nobody of a pokemon.
>Lucario isn't even relevant to anything
...Until X/Y came out and he basically became the mascot of mega-evolution, furthering his popularity. That probably gave him the excuse to leave him in.
Greninja is in because muh ninjas.
He has 2 mega evolutions you clown.
And he was in the first few seconds of the Pokemon intro, served as the "hidden boss" in Pokemon Red & Blue, had Mcdonalds toys, had his own movie, appeared in Melee, was a trophy in brawl, and appeared in the Pokemon Origins animes, and he was in X&Y.
Fucking Mewtwo is more relevant to Pokemon than Metaknight is to Kirby.
>...Until X/Y came out
Even before then, really. His rise back to prominence started towards the end of Gen 5.
Zoroark failed at replacing him, so Lucario had to step back in to clean up the mess.
I'm entirely convinced that people who want Ashley in are just a really dedicated group of trolls. I didn't see anyone say word one about her before her Assist Trophy was announced. What game is she even from, Wario?
>He has 2 mega evolutions you clown
>yfw Lucario doesn't even appear in the game he debut in unless you go fucking looking for him and do his gay sidequest and evolve Rolo into Lucario.
4th gen pokefags will defend this.
He (or rather she, since it was a different Mewtwo) was a leading character in a recent Pokemon movie, and Mewtwo got TWO mega evolutions in X and Y, so no, Mewtwo isn't irrelevant.
That being said, while I'm a bit disappointed that Mewtwo didn't return for Smash 4, I'm not losing sleep over it and I think Greninja is a good addition as a Pokemon rep.
Even with that in mind, six is still an absolutely ludicrous number. That's practically rivaling the amount of Zelda items. Not to mention one of them is just another Dragoon, anyway.
I understand your pain, sword troopers. But at the same time, I believe it's fine the way it is. There's no use complaining about shit like this.
That was just an introduction to Mega Evolution. It could have been any Pokemon and nothing would change.
It's not pushing, though.
They tried to stop pushing him and push Zoroark instead, but that failed, so they had to go back to Lucario.
Lucario has been around for nearly 10 years now. It's not pushing anymore. He's simply become just as iconic as Pikachu and Charizard.
Tauros is more iconic than fucking Lucario.
You're either terribly underage or not very good at making bait.
I wish I still had Player 1's comics about new characters in Brawl.
>B: WALUIGI LASER
>SIDE B: WALUIGI FLASH
>UP B: FIRE WALUIGI
>DOWN B: WALUIGI REFLECTOR
>FINAL SMASH: LANDMASTER
Then where are all the little kids who love Tauros?
Where's all the Tauros merchandise?
Who cares if he's used those moves in-game? His abilities in Pac-World are generic as fuck and the rest of the Pac-Man series is arcadey shit that doesn't lend itself to fighting games.
He's a fun character to play with a quirky style that brings more to the franchise than all his specials being groundpounds and chomps. It's also a cute throwback to the arcade titles, which are way more fucking memorable than Pac-World of all fucking things.
Do you cry about how Ness utilizes Paula's PSI abilities when her elemental moves are way more fitting for how Smash plays than Lifeup, Offense Up and Hypnosis? Or how Donkey Kong works like a grappler instead of throwing barrels, riding Rambi and firing a coconut gun?
Playstyle should take priority over the canon of fucking 80's arcade games and Nintendo platformers.
To be fair, I think Project M's Lucas is fucking neat to play, partly thanks to Offense Up, but he does still retain two of the elemental moves.
I also think using Starstorm as Ness' Final Smash was a missed opportunity to include his signature move.
Good on you, anon. Woah man, you crack me up real good.
I'll even play Hard Mode and not swap a clone for an original character:
Remove Shulk, insert K. Rool
As it happens, I have no problem with Shulk and actually think he's interesting to play due to Muh Nadoarts. However, I question how relevant he'll be in another 6-8 years, especially since Xenoblade Chronciles X has nothing to with him. K. Rool on the other hand adds more heavy characters, more villains, and you could probably work in some cool gimmick with him (one of my favorite minor ones I hear was while he wears his crown, trying to footstool jump him causes damage)
Rockin and Love would be awkward to depict properly, since in-game theyre a bunch of abstract shapes and screen filters.
I personally wish they tried to make it work, but since Starstorm is much easier to adapt I can see why they went for that instead.
The only reason I use Lucario at all is because I own a pharaoh hound in real life.
Even then, steel fighting is a wack-ass typing that would be ANNIHILATED by Mewtwo. All things considered.
>one of the strongest Fighting types
Bitch, I was in ubers even without a Mega. What does Lucario have compared to that?
