>cuss like a sailor while representing game
>issue death threats against publisher
valve should screen indie devs in a more comprehensive fashion so that dumbass/unreliable devs don't get their games listed at all.
That describes everyone who has a Twitter. By virtue of having an account you will have a public bitchfit. There's no benefit to subscribe to an idiotic service like that, it can only harm you.
confirming PA is only good for dank jewing
Man Valve doesn't screen shit anymore. They used to actually deal with companies that wanted to put games on their service. These days it's just a fucking automated form with no human interaction. Just look at the garbage that's offered on Steam now. No content control at all.
It's not that bad. It's not very good, though. Guy probably didn't deserve this given that Steam fucked up his game's launch... but he was being a little bitch about it. The other devs working on the project have also lost their game despite the fact that they had nothing to do with this sperg's outburst.
>sperging out on Twitter because you don't like your front page banner
>game's been in early access
>game comes out of early access
>game gets put on the front page
>minor cockup results in it still having the early access label still
>dev sperges the fuck out on twitter and threatens to kill gaben
>game gets taken off steam
I wouldn't be saying that if Gabe did this shit all the time. Good thing he doesn't.
Steam labelled the game as early access when it was the game's launch, which I assume would put a hole in the profits since it's the only time it'll be on the front page like that. Guy got really mad and started shitting on Steam in his twitter until he finally said that he'd kill Gaben. Valve took it seriously and removed his game/ceased relations with him.
The industry is better off without these openly hostile cultural elitists. They constantly belittle and insult their audience and the mainstream gaming companies and are shocked when it comes back to bite them. They're like children who don't understand that they have to take responsibility for their actions.
What a fucking bitch baby holy shit this is gold.
God I hope he's not joking. The less entitled indie dev fucks we have the better.
Kotaku actually isn't stepping into defend anyone in this story. If anything they're clearly defending Valve by saying that this dumb Murderbeck tool is indeed a dumb tool for being an asshole to a business parter.
Do people not realize that websites don't instantly update? There are so many databases and servers that need to be contacted and authenticated before something like that goes through. How did this guy manage to make a game?
Steam used to be like the fucking big leagues. If you could get your indie game listed, that was it, you made it.
Now the early access program churns out a dozen rpgmaker games, shitty "ironic simulators", and retro pixel platformers with deep messages every week.
>which I assume would put a hole in the profits since it's the only time it'll be on the front page like that
Not like it wouldn't have been put back up fixed after if he'd simply pointed out the error and been professional to work with.
I don't use Twitter, but it seems a lot of people that use it don't act like people that realize they're putting their names to some really stupid comments.
I don't understand how some of them get/remained employed, in this age where some employers will screen Facebook before burning your resume.
Now if only Valve can get rid of all the other garbage cluttering Steam I'll be happy.
They won't though.
>mfw Steamfags defend Gabe's dictatorship
its not okay when Nintendo does it, but Gabe's fine since hes fat Jesus Christ
Valve's Doug Lombardi confirmed the news to Polygon. "Yes, we have removed the game's sales page and ceased relations with the developer after he threatened to kill one of our employees."
Sounds like they took it seriously. Probably both, though.
Now the indie cabal and their puppet mouthpiece are trying to spin this up. Let's hope Valve will hold its ground. Even if they were in the wrong ( I don't say theay are) backing up makes you look weak.
>Some Phil Fish-esque developer/auteur tries to play the diva on the owner of their distribution platform
>Gets fucked into the earth for their stupidity
This needs to happen more often.
If you ran a company, would you ensure the financial success of some autist who publicly stated that they would kill you in a fit of rage?
I have one in my town that is completely empty all of the time and has been for the three years I've lived in this town. I do not understand how the owner pays his bills to keep the place open.
When Hitler died he divided his soul into 666 pieces, these pieces took root within the heart and souls of men, and so in this way Indies have been born.
He should compare his life to Gabe's and then kill himself
This is like insulting Santa Claus(or the closest thing to a jewish santa claus) and expecting people to not get mad at you.
Thanks for not linking directly, OP.
You're a pretty cool dude.
Because, in general, you only notice the occasional awful people and the occasional great people and then try to generalize based on a recent set of instances you've noticed an indie dev. Like notice how your view would imply that id was composed of the worst people on the planet.
I thought I recognized these fucks: they are the same people who tried to use Adult Swim to get past Steam Greenlight:
You know, if you worked this hard to get your game on steam, why in the EVERLOVING FUCK would you make a death threat on twitter/facebook/etc, even in a joking manner?
The thing I love most about this is he had a banner on steam.
You don't just GET a banner on steam. He was REALLY privileged to even fucking get that. I know SEVERAL people on steam and the only moderately successful person has had a banned on the steam frontpage.
What an entitled fuckwit.
Gee. I wonder what current events have been swirling lately that would cause so many people to call him a fucker for threatening to kill one of gaming's most beloved personalities.
This stupid motherfucker was probably an anti. He can go fuck himself.
his game its fucking horrible.
its like he just watched all the tutorials on unity and made his first ever fps or something
This is fucking golden. Thank you based gaben for these lulz
Yeah, nah. Fuck that. Shit's not even worth the piss I shoot out of my penis.
Indie developers think they're some kind of antidote for the poison that is killing the vidya industry. They take on a messiah complex and assume that their word is gospel when it comes to game design.
If someone does anything to slight their product, they instantly fly into a fit of rage and begin talking down to the offender like they're a piece of human trash.
In reality they're just a greedy and lazy as the AAA devs they claim to be fighting, with a personality complex to boot.
Their first response to any kind of criticism is to back into a corner and begin screaming "let's see YOU do any better."
Fuck those cunts.
AAA devs are greedy fucks, but unlike indie devs, they usually at least try and polish their games and patch them.
What the fuck, why are indie devs so entitled and retarded? You ever see that Phil Fish tweet where he says "compare your life to mine and kill yourself" and then five tweets down he complains his life is hard and unfair. lulz
>those people must be the most miserable
>the guy who is worshiped by the mustardrace despite owning one of the largest video game distribution platforms in the world must be miserable all the time
Give retards and kids like that a Twitter account and it is a recipe for disaster. I can't stand Twitter and those faggot using it, it completely destroyed the public discourse.
Steam was literally stealing money out of his pocket by agreeing to promote and sell his game, because of some CMS error. He knew it was best to sell zero copies than to sell even one less copy due to a bug or mistaken checkbox in an automated system.
They do. It was a simple mistake on Steam's part (game was updated before banner was updated) that could have been solved with a 5-minute phone call. Instead... Well, check the OP
>f you ran a company, would you ensure the financial success of some autist who publicly stated that they would kill you in a fit of rage?
well, when you put it that way i guess not, but i still feel kinda bad for the dude
at least phish made money off his game, this guy has nothing
Name one respectable business on this earth that would still keep doing business with another company that sent them public death threat.
Exactly. Smartass got what he deserved
>Paranautical Activity is available through other digital distribution means, like Desura and the Humble Store, but Maulbeck lamented that the game sold 12 copies on non-Steam platforms today.
Someone post the pic showing how youtube and Google used to have huge warning signs telling you to never post your real name and info and then slowly changed to now even try to force you to reveal your identity.
Many games have come and gone on Steam. There are publishers that have listed and delisted big name games over time. People who have already bought the game keep it even if no one else can buy it anymore.
just reading the headline alone made me laugh for like 5 minutes
Moron. He could have stated that he hated Gabe, valve, called them fuckers or whatever. Or he could have actually been a reasonable adult and get the situation fixed normally with a new banner.
Yeah man, they had a fucking front page banner and Valve would have probably extended their stay there as an apology. It would have paid for the kids education if his assbag partner didn't flip his shit and make public death threats to his distributors management.
It's like every media whore indie dev loses their shit on a regular basis.
Meanwhile other professional indie dev's get their IP's bought and laugh their shit to the bank.
It's some great form of justice that rewards you for not being dependent on social advertising.
Well, personally, I'm not a huge Gabe fanboym bvut Gabe has all the rights here. This guys wants to sell his game in Gabe's online store. The store has some rules, dev throws a fit cause of said store, the launch doesn't please the stupid dev, even though it's basic shit most devs that sell ON STEAM are completely aware off. Say shit in a public site like Twitter and is now banned from steam.
I'd feel more sorry for him if he didn't fly off the handle over something as minor as having his game marked as early access.
Shit like that could be sorted with a private email to Valve going something along the lines of:
"Dear Valve [or a personal name if provided],
Thank you for putting my game (Paranautical Activity) on Steam. However, I have noticed that my game has been labeled as Early Access. I'd just like to clarify that the game is in a publishable state so it isn't in Early Access now.
Please feel free to contact me if there are any issues,
As opposed to flying into a fit of rage on a public social media site and threatening to kill the head of the company.
He has the right to be angry... I guess. But the way he acted was just retarded and if he's going to act like that to such a minor thing, he deserves to have his career nipped in the bud.
Not all indie games are unfinished trash at least.
He should have contacted them about their mistake and gotten them to extend his front page banner time as an apology. He would have made a fucking fortune. Front page banner location is GOLD.
Where do all these indie "devs" that make games on some WYSISWYG editor or rpg maker shit while being such attention whores come from?
When i think about a real indie dev, i think about the dude that made Banished. He made the whole game from scratch by himself, and he has 0 drama. His blog is technical and informative.
Too bad Banished was kinda meh.
Come on Gabe.
Gabe should his bluff. Challenge him to a cage match in international waters. Gabe could actually make that happen. It would be nothing for him to rent a boat and buy or rent a ring and cage ect. Hell he could just buy a boat and name it after the dude's mom. He's rich as hell and large enough that almost no ground based predator would even consider fucking with him, some unnamed 20 year old kid has no chance in hell.
He could sell it on ppv on Steam. Millions upon millions of people would pay to watch a death match. And they'd want more.
Gabe is in a position to bring back the Colosseum, with Steam as it's distributor.
He'd almost be crazy to not challenge some kid that talked shit about him on twitter to a deathmatch in a cage on international waters.
They're hipsters who want to make an impact on an industry, but aren't talented enough to break into more established mediums such as literature or the fine arts. They have dreams of becoming pioneers and being lauded as visionaries. There's a reason indie devs are the ones making such a strong push for games to be seen as "art," and it's not because they care about the industry. They're narcissists in search of fame and admiration, never forget that, anon.
>Bought 3 of these for 89 cents before the hype went viral
Ooooh man this is the first time I've been ahead of the curve.
I think I remember the devs of Paranautical Activity talking on a podcast and criticizing the shit out of steam...
I like to think it wasn't just the death threat but rather that was the straw that broke the camel's back, and valve remembers their bullshit from last time.
>threaten the head of a company(jokingly or not)
>thinks its wrong that his product was removed
No one has a right to be on steam, and its pretty standard for to no longer be associated with a company after public threatening the head of it.
the :weed: item is STILL like 20 dollars and its almost a year later. Nothing safer than investing your steam dollars(which you can't turn into real cash anyway) into these now permanently scarce shop items. BUY THAT SHIT NOW.
this guy is probably right and people just don't realize it
Steam is pretty much the only way for a non-huge PC dev to make any money with their games and they basically get like 1 day to hit it big and if they don't its pretty much over for them and they just get lost and unnoticed in the sea of other games
this guy just lashed out about it whereas all those other devs just died quietly and unseen
its even worse now that Valve revamped the store to show "popular" new releases which is basically just code for games that got marketed or hyped in some way or another before they released
Jesus, how fucking unprofessional can you get? His game gets to the very front page of Steam and he flies off the fucking rails and rants on twitter. Why not sent emails out and be an adult?
games made in unity (and other stuff) aren't all shit, it's just that there are a greater quantity of shitty games made in unity since it's easier to get a mediocre "publishable" product than it would be coding from scratch.
>Valve's team made an honest mistake (posted as early access when it had left early access a few days ago)
>instead of trying to get it changed he freaks out screaming on Twitter
>when game gets taken off steam he "quits game devving" and says it sucked the whole way
If you didn't fucking like it, why did you do it? You aren't going to get fucking angry birds money you piece of shit.
>ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME STEAM? WE JUST RELEASED OUT OF EARLY ACCESS AND THIS IS OUR FRONT PAGE BANNER?
>Steam is the most incompetent piece of fucking shit.
>fucking steam is just fucking taking money out of my pocket. misinforming people that my game is in fucking early access.
>I am going to kill gabe newell
>He is going to die.
That's not really true. There's always desura and if you're really struggling you can organize some sort of distribution yourself or even use GoG. or
Then there's humble bundles to get the game out there or if you're part of the corrupt inside you could get articles written about your game. If your game is actually good though then advertising wont be that big of an issue.
This is exactly why we're seeing a wave of feminist critics attacking videogames. Other industries have established critics and would laugh them off, videogames are still young and vulnerable. They're picking on the easiest target in the room in order to make their mark, and it's working
What if, hear me out on this one,
What if we rounded up all those big name asshole indie devs, put them on a huge ass boat or deserted island and made them fight each other in a indie dev version of Battle Royale.
>He'd almost be crazy to not challenge some kid that talked shit about him on twitter to a deathmatch in a cage on international waters.
This is probably the best line I'm gonna read all day.
Threatening to kill somebody over a minor and easily correctable mistake is never right.
His grievance was not over any of that. It was just his shitty indie game was mislabeled.
Blessed with a fantastic set of breasts.
There's a way to behave when being entering a contract (which no doubt included rules of conduct). This is not the way to behave.
Act like a business person, not a fucking child. Can you imagine if other developers spoke like this? What an idiot.
>I have noticed that my game has been labeled as Early Access. I'd just like to clarify that the game is in a publishable state so it isn't in Early Access now.
This is what the problem was? Fucking really? The Xenonauts devs faced the EXACT same problem and Xenonaut's still available on Steam.
The game wasn't even GOOD either. I pirated that shit ages ago because it looked interesting. Shit was FULL of fucking bugs, controls were terrible and half of the fucking triggers for bosses spawning, doors opening, weapon picks and more didn't even fucking work.
Hell looking at the changelogs almost none of these were fixed at all. People on the steam forums were getting banned left and right for asking when x would get fixed. This was a timebomb waiting to happen.
No, build a big-ass stadium on the island and hold an indie dev Dark Tournament.
>calls their own forums a shitshow
>straight up not delivering on half the game
This is unacceptable behavior, a tone no one in a business deal with another should take. They were right to take it off the store. I wouldn't want my service associated with people that act like this.
The whole reason he is freaking out is his frontpage banner (these are very hard to get, not everyone gets this, and is almost guaranteed success because it's free advertisement that millions of people will see) said it was in early access instead of released.
>get your game on steam
>think your hot shit
>throw a hissy fit and "threaten" to murder someone because of a small problem
>get your game taken from steam
>continue to throw a hissy fit
>ruin your potential career
Good job man. you handled that really well.
Yup that was the problem, and all he had to do was act calm and speak to them about the issue, a simple mistake could have been resolved within a few hours, a few minutes, or a day.
The special snow flake took to twitter and cried his little eyes out trying to strong arm somebody like special snow flakes do.
You see these same people screaming in their youth "MUH DADDY WILL GET YOU" or some other boggy man.
I feel worse for the artist who worked his ass off to support his family only to have it all pissed away by a small, insignificant little cunt.
but there is a silver lining.
>He can sue the ever living shit out of this cunt for destroying or damaging both his reputation, and his work which was contributed to it and still get paid the dosh he was entitled to.
you're forgetting who the true king is
They have been acting like faggots since the beginning.
Looks like he was another lazy indie dev who put fuck all effort into his piece of shit game.
Part of me likes this. The game itself was mediocre at best, and its nice to see that an Indie Dev got his shit smack for being unprofessional and having the maturity level of a high school kid. But at the same time there were some pretty decent people who worked on that project who are now getting fucked hard over this. Its a mixture of conflicting emotions.
>WOOOOOW NO ONE TOLD ME I COULDN'T PUBLICLY THREATEN THE LIFE OF A CEO
what kind of mentality is that? I make games because I like playing them and want to enjoy sharing my own game with people. why would you work on something you hate that much?
If you get the wrong food in a restaurant, do you toss the plate across the room and flip the table or call one of the staff order and ask for the mistake to be fixed?
Guess which one solves your issue and which one gets you thrown out.
I just feel bad for the others that worked on the game. Hopefully things turn out okay for them.
>mfw I got this in an old groupees bundle for $5
Time to afk for a few hours
>He basically says he hates making games
Image verification? That'd be hilarious if true. And no I can't stand looking through 900 pages of indie dev rantings to find it myself
I know this has no relation to the thread at hand but can someone please post some Burch collages? My bro doesn't belive me about how big of a faggot he is and is threatening to be the new Borderlands.
No. Here it is again. Blame moot.
I also meant to say over, not order. My mistake.
What is google
If done right, it can be pretty
Man, I love the rush Gabe must have got when he flipped the switch on this shuddering autist.
I work a bar in a fancy nightclub and there's nothing more satisfying than hitting the silent alarm and getting the bouncers to forcibly remove some fucking nobody who thinks they're a big deal because their dad gave them a Ferrari for Christmas.
>people are making a third of the two weeks paycheck I just recieved because of a virtual trading card booster pack linked to a video game designed by a twat
I do need to get a better job, but FUCK this gay earth
Instead you get a screamer fact that what your brain is showing you is not really true. Quite disturbing. We are humans but yet we are not really alive. Whatever dies was not alive
He could have tried to handle this professionally. He could have talked to Valve, explain his problem and ask them to fix it.
Instead he chose to bitch about it on Twitter and going as far as issuing a death threat.
I'm not even defending Valve, I'm being
euphoricfrom seeing a indie dev learn why you don't act like a bitch.
>He could have talked to Valve, explain his problem and ask them to fix it.
Pretty sure that avenue was already tried you cockslurp. Valve didn't even give him the time of day.
Bitch baby throws a shit fit on twitter and threatens to kill a man who has done more in his life than the faggots entire blood line has ever done and then proceeds to play "woe is me, pitty me".
Autists need to learn how to work in society. You don't get to scream shit and not have repercussions. This might hopefully have a positive impact on the way devs, and people in general act on twitter now.
>Making your precious vidyamagames is shitty work
If these people don't enjoy programming, they probably shouldn't have picked a profession that pretty much exclusively requires it
Man, Id kiiiiiiinda understand if he was 14 or something.
But by 16 its already time to stop being a little bitch. If he got to 20 like that, I hope this changes him, or he is in for a rough ride in life.
A lot of devs enjoy programming, but don't enjoy needy users, so they like being shielded from users by middle management and large corporations. Being in contract developer, or independent, is actual hell.
>that avenue was already tried
Promo went up today and he launched into his twitter tirade @ 3pm. So he didn't exactly give them much time to respond before going full autist on twitter. Do you really think Valve is going to drop everything because some shitty indie game was misclassified in a free promotion?
Indie devs are not the cold, sociopathic businessmen. Indie devs are real people. Since over half the population of the US is mentally insane in some manner, a good deal of indie devs will be insane. Some of them can just hide it better than others. What you see on TV, in newspapers or in business: these are the illusions. Humans acting with no emotion, purely driven by profit. These are not humans. They are robots. This man is a true human. He is like the vikings of old. When wronged he lashes out. When slighted, he wants to deliver in kind.
>why would you work on something you hate that much?
Because people know it sells good and, due to its image, see it as an easy field to work with.
It's almost the same case with Anita.
CD key bought from the russians was legit, price - 1 dollar. The cards still drop. Go make some serious money, thank me later.
>You don't get to scream shit and not have repercussions.
We developed evolutionarily to not understand this, because in nature sometimes there would be no repercussions if you were good enough at defending yourself
And going on Twitter and being a massive bitch was the proper response to that?
>This man is a true human
True humans are able to transcend their base emotions and throw off the shackles of our biological urges. That's what makes us human, something more than a beast.
You are clearly not in touch with real human emotions. Humans have emotional highs and lows, they do totally irrational things. If you're always "mellow" all the time you're not a human.
i think it was pretty justifyed
not because it was a threat or anything
but because dude's PR was atrocious
i mean he is representing something now and should act in a more civilized manner
>because in nature sometimes there would be no repercussions if you were good enough at defending yourself
No, in nature if you pick a fight you can't win, you get swatted down like the bug you are. Oh wait, that's pretty much what happened. So looks like natural selection played out.
>True humans are able to transcend their base emotions and throw off the shackles of our biological urges. That's what makes us human, something more than a beast.
No, humans are not more than beasts. Humans are the most evil, deprived and insane form of beasts. Beasts don't kill for fun -- except Dolphins and humans. Humans are degenerate and defective.
This guy really needs to get a grip on how much of a huge break having your game put on Steam is.
I'm currently in the process of writing my first book (a history book on the use of religious-- primarily focusing on Crusade-- rhetoric during the English Civil Wars). I'm in a conflict with my publisher over the fact that the argument I'm trying to put forward is not cynical enough about religious justification and belief during the war (their words are that my argument "does not fit into the current historiographical trends"). As a result, I have been locked in a two month long war of attrition which has involved emails, meetings, extensive editing sessions etc. to try and preserve my argument.
There have been times when I have been tempted to go nuclear and rant to them about how this is my work and my conclusions, but I haven't. I've been polite, and I've tried to find compromises to ensure I maintain my integrity as a historian whilst still getting my work published.
At no point have I taken to Twitter to call for their blood. It's so frustrating seeing these fucking cunts go on rampages over minor issues when they've basically had their work put out to the masses.
Did he have to pay for the banner or something?
if not, even an early access banner will attract eyes. And once corrected its all good.
If he did, I'm sure a compromise could have been reached to compensate him.
Fucking good. Paranautical Activity promised a ton of shit that didn't make it into the game, like multiplayer. I'm glad this dev got fucked over and I'm glad he's out of the business. Fuck everything about Code Avarice.
Spooky Ghost, if you're out there, I hope you're as happy as I am.
When DLC become the norm, intelligent people foresaw that it wouldn't be long before important segments and the extra bonuses that were free in the last gen would start being cut out and sold back to the customer, while the idiots cried "tinfoil hat". Guess what?
Then smart people said that online passes were a prelude to further attempts to kill used games. What did Microsoft try at the XBone's release?
Sony's streaming service is testing the waters. They want to see how tolerant consumers are to not even having the games in their houses.
Companies like Activision, EA, and Microsoft have been talking about "games as a service" (as opposed to the current model of games as a product) for years.
The scenario that they want is very clear: They want the consumer to buy the console, buy the subscription, buy the game, play it on their servers, and pay for additional content. And in 2025 when the game isn't on their servers anymore? Tough.
You also have to know how little respect the industry publishers have for the industry consumers. Their response to the consumer expecting a quality product is to start pissing on the consumers.
The game industry is growing up at the worst possible time. Music and movies are safe because they're established. When people buy a movie, they expect to get the full movie, and to be able to watch that movie whenever they want from that day forward, whether their internet is connected or not. Same with music.
However, games are new(ish), as is modern technology, and the big boys are experimenting to see just how much they can exploit the combination.
Impulse control never works 100% of the time. Everyone has emotional outbursts. Especially over money, and this guy was getting fucked out of money.
Not when the planet runs out of resources =3
>lel guise i'm so craisy
Shut the fuck up, you do nothing but harm people who have genuine mental health issues by even saying this. Just shut the fuck up, the nat get smashed by our lords massive meaty paw
Come to the US or get out of the north east and you'll see ;_;
This ain't Europe bra.
>this guy was getting fucked out of money
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Steam threw his game onto the front page FOR FREE. Yeah, Valve fucked up by calling it early access instead of a full release, but I guarantee he was still getting more sales than he would have otherwise had if they hadn't run the promo. And this wasn't costing him anything.
Nah, fuck this guy.
The game is called 3D Dot Game Heroes, it's for the PS3.
It is a top down adventure game like the original Zelda.
>Take off the depth of field and bloom and see how "pretty" it looks
As I said, if done correctly
No, normal is only defined by the average human. In reality it is the outlier who can completely control him or herself for an entire lifetime. Almost everyone has outbursts. Only sociopaths can resist.
No, these are people who hold separate beliefs and societal norms than what you learned from your chinese cartoons and you weeb shit games.
50% of the US is not insane, 40 isn't, 30 isn't, 20, 10, 5% isn't. Shut the fuck up
He's greedier than that. He wants ALL the money, and he knew Steam blew his chance for him by that EA error. A lot of people will not buy EA games. The greater the greed, the greater the outburst when money is stolen from him.
Context is key. Someone runs over your daughter you have an outburst.
Steam classifies your game, but still generates >15 sales a minute, you send them an email and get shit sorted, maybe negotiating in an extension on the banner because of their mistake.
it seemed like a pretty niche game to begin with. I think the people who WOULD HAVE bought it would have either ignored the label knowing it was wrong, or just not noticed anyway
>Only sociopaths can resist the urge to not threaten the life of a CEO
Lay off the ganja, m8.
Dude I never even was able to watch a Chinese cartoon until I was basically an adult since I would have to buy them from a store and that was socially unacceptable. I was raised in murika. I know what murika is like, and so many people here are sexually repressed nutjobs
>but Steam threw his game onto the front page FOR FREE
According to quite a few indie devs, being on the front page of Steam is the least Valve can do for a game launching because the store browser is so fucking awful nobody ever uses it. Unless you make the front page of Steam nobody will know your game exists.
Nature is pretty fucked up ever hear of the emerald jewel wasp?
Also what so bad about bettering ourselves and condemning actions that don't benefit the advancement of society or maintain it.
It depends on your values. This man values money more than a human life, so of course he will have an outburst over it. Did you see his tweets before this? He only cares about making games to get tons of money, so of course if Valve screws him out of max amount of sales, he will react extremely.
Repression is not insanity or psychosis. Go back to reading that community college psych 200 book. Maybe if you do more than skim you can know a little more than how to sound like a pseudo retarded freud
So you set him up for this glorious fall. You are responsible for all that happened to him for the rest of his life. Think about that. If you had never turned him on to indie games, he'd have a normal job out there somewhere and have a happy wife and 2.1 kids.
> Paranautical Activity is available through other digital distribution means, like Desura and the Humble Store, but Maulbeck lamented that the game sold 12 copies on non-Steam platforms today.
what a child, he deserves it
This guy is an even bigger idiot that Phil Fish. Even Phil wasn't a big enough moron to openly threaten and/or mock the distributor. It's like he's trying to one-up Fish in some kind of "world's biggest douche" contest. 10's all around from the judges.
>mfw just found a new fetish
>mfw the realization that it will never exist
>Valuing the life of a screaming nutjob on Twitter over Lord Gaben
