>lords of the fallen: out for 25 days, no crack
>fifa 15: out for 63 days, no crack
>dragon age inquisition: out for 2 days, no crack
>all games normally take an hour to get cracked
When were you when piracy died?
It was a fun ride while it lasted, still not going to pay for games I don't want to pay for though.
>The shilling is strong with this one.
Are you Implying this is a bad thing that pirating is dying?
This actually might give pc gaming a second chance to attract developers like rockstar that are butthurt about their games being pirated.
Remember when they said psp was unhackable?
Sure, it took a few years, but it was done. This is just like the Cryptography/codevreakers race. On always catch up to the other, eventually. Until they come up with quantum computers, then shit hits the fan
Denuvo is a godsend for the industry. All those billions in losses due to piracy will disappear and cause the industry to flourish like never before. We are entering an unprecedented era of intellectual property integrity and social justice. Thieving white pigs will soon be removed from the face of the planet and capitalism will reign supreme and we will all be one race.
Most of the people who didn't buy games when they were kids have jobs now and just would either risk it or not bother to play it.
And new kids suck at learning anything. Good luck getting them to work on encrypting.
Every single pirated copy is a direct and total loss. Companies can barely hold on against the ravenous hordes of piracy. Thankfully Denuvo, like a knight in shining armor, is coming to save us from these defilers of IP.
You know, I would kinda care if I still played new generation games, but those days I only play old games and there is a lot of them to play. No fucks given.
Anyone else feeling the same way about it?
>Every single pirated copy is a direct and total loss
If only, I would have already killed bioware if that was true, if only I had that kind of power.
Besides Denuvo will get raped eventually, or it will not, makes no difference, games like dragon age inquisition will be free on psn plus or Origin soon enough. That just how bad they are.
Waiting a month or two for a crack is barely a heartbeat in the grand scheme of things.
Publishers get their first few weeks of piracy-free sales, which is all they care about anyway, and the only people who don't get to play the game immediately are the ones who don't think it's good enough to be worth paying for in the first place.
If it's true, are you happy with it?
Most games don't even have a demo version for you to test it for a bit before you buy it, this is just going to force you to buy something without really knowing how good it is since reviews nowadays are a fucking joke. Not to mention the rumours about how this new DRM can fuck with our SSDs.
25, which means it's 50, which means that half the time it's 25 and half the time it's 50 so it's something in between which means it's 0, which means its 25, repeat ad infinitum.
Are you really this retarded? Piracy is not "lost sales" because only 2 kinds of people pirate:
The large portion that pirates everything because fuck it they aren't gonna buy that shit anyway.
And the "try before you buy" crowd who might actually pay money for a pirate copy they enjoy.
Guess what, now the second group will never pay for anything if they can't try it first. Net loss, GG corporate dipshits.
>/v/ praising and defending intrusive DRM
>/v/ calling DRM the "Savior of Gaming"
>/v/ actually thinking piracy will die because 3 games use a new DRM that isn't SecuROM
Every time I think /v/ cannot get more retarded, they prove me wrong.
There are plenty of people who pirate because fuck it free game right there and they want to play it.
If they can't play it for a good month and a half or more a good portion of them will buy it out of impatience.
itll ruin your drives this bullshit. even if you SUPPORT drm, just having this on your system will rekt your drives
literal cancer. it literally causes your system to fail given enough time
Fun fact: Origin has a return policy that states you can get a full refund of a digital EA game within 24 hours of first launching it, or 7 days if you never launch it. You can buy Cisquisition and try it out for a day to see if it's all the paid off reviewers crack it up to be, then return it if it isn't.
There are reports that it repeatedly encrypts, decrypts, and reencrypts parts of the exe constantly while the game is running. All these read and writes wear out your drive.
There hasn't been any solid proof yet, but it's something to be cautious of. This is Sony DRM we're talking about. It's not to be trusted.
I've bought games that had cracks just because no seeders or leechers through the roof. If games can't be pirated there will be people who will buy it who wouldn't have before.
I bought Valkyria Chronicles on release for the same reason.
is piracy suddenly dead because it takes a little bit longer to crack these games than usual
need I remind you this kind of situation has happened before
you crack one of these games and soon all of them will be
They all are in their own way which is the joke.
There are four options so to randomly choose 1 of the 4 assuming one is correct is 25%. But 25% is listed twice so the chance would then raise to 50% because you have a 2/4 or 1/2 chance of randomly guessing the right answer. However 50% is listed as it's own option meaning that there is a 25% chance to select it and OP has a 0% chance of not being a faggot
why are we still talking about this when fifa 15, a denuvo whatever secured product, has been cracked?
the thread was wrong from the get go. it can be cracked. it has. all those points are completely moot
You have to buy all the games from now on, there are no demos so you won't get to try them to see if you like them or not, enjoy your 10/10 from bought reviewers everywhere
Truly the gaming industry is consumer friendly and GREAT.
Denuvo can't protect games on consoles right? So that means right now ps3 and xbox users are already pirating the game as they wish, the only ones being hurt by this are pc players.
Do people seriously NOT know whether or not they will enjoy a game after looking at it in motion and reading an explanation of the game mechanics?
Don't get me wrong, of course a demo is always better and it IS bullshit that a lot of people don't offer one, but seriously, how can people not get a good enough idea about a game just by looking at gameplay videos?
I was hyped as shit for Asura's Wrath until I saw gameplay videos. I'm not saying it's bad but I knew right away it was not going to be a game I would enjoy.
Plenty of non-professional game reviews are available as well.
remember when they put demos out to combat this and the demo scene thrived and vidya thrived as a result in general?
welp, time to go back to what we did when there was no demos
>Does Denuvo Anti-Tamper affect my SSD or any other type of hard drives in any way?
>No. As mentioned before, Denuvo Anti-Tamper does not constantly read or write any data to storage media.
Straight from the makers. Also pic related. Your SSD and performance excuses are null.
>WAHHHH THIS HURTS THE CONSUMER TOO, (not just me who wants to get it for free).
>WAHHHHH THIS HURTS THE COMPUTER (not just mine because i want it for free).
This is what pirates have become, hilarious.
loaded word. of course its not constant, or it would burn them out in fuckin days. does it does extra, additional heavy loads on the ssds occasionally? technically they just avoided the answer.
>trusting their own site
rumor was that the new denuvo DRM was read-writing over 50x per second between storage and memory, so if your games were stored on SSD, then it would eventually kill it
this is what I've heard and in no way should be taken as fact
>where were you when denuvo saved pc gaming?
>quality of games goes down because nobody can try before buying
>prices go up because no other avenues of acquisition
>finally reach a point where video games aren't worth the money or time
>start doing other things with life
>become better enriched in life skills and experiences
>get a great job with new skills and experience
>earn a great living
>settle down and have a family
>all because denuvo showed me that video games are a waste of time and money
THANK YOU BASED DENUVO
It can and was already cracked, the creators of denuvo themselves said the best the drm can do is hold back pirates for a month or two, after that the game will be cracked, at the best only the first month sales will be free of piracy.
actually its really easy to make an uncrackable game, its just that the systems they use to do it are unfeasible for modern games. the idea is that the ENTIRE game is serverside. so say, even in singleplayer, you must be online, and when you drive and shit, the values of physics and such are generated server side and sent to you. that way, you have no way of actually seeing what algorithim produces what value you receive, at all, and can not be emulated.
for any game in real time, that means everything you do singleplayer would be still effected by ping and lag. even if you retested the same thing a million times, all the dev has to do is add rng to some physics, and then its almost impossible to recreate.
but it makes the game shit, unbearably so. it really only works on turn based games where lag and ping can be sidestepped
The funny thing is the "holding pirates back for a month or two" is only a one time deal. It'll only work for one or two games, because once it gets cracked, all the rest will be cracked within a day just like with every other DRM.
eventually itll be feasible, and itll be done. and that day will suck. even singleplayer games will be forced online
the ONLY bonus i can see is that downloads for base game should be small, and all vital calcs and stuff will be kept serverside.
but your internet requirements to be online will massively increase. even for singleplayer
>new games are shit
>old games are great and already been cracked
>after the rage
>"o-oh it was a technical mistake, we didnt MEAN to release it for a cost, and leave it that way afor a few weeks, h-have some game time for our m-mistake"
trying to search for the original image gives me dmca takedown notices
top fuckin lel
Feels good to play good games knowing that poorfags can't get them.
I really hope denuvo remains uncracked. That way when they see that sales are just the same as usual on PC, they can finally shut the fuck up about "MUH PIRACY IS KILLING PC GAMING!!!"
But you know that won't happen. They'll find a way to blame piracy for all their problems even on games that aren't yet piratable
Btw, how do you guys feel about LoF?
Personally I liked the game and I'm sad that nobody on /v/ wants to talk about it.
Online only sever/client DRM is the only way to effectively stop piracy. Good thing not many people are stupid enough to tolerate that shit. It's an effective way to stop legitimate sales as well.
loooool. the denial and asshurt is incredible. so a professional public company is now blatantly lying about their product (a criminal and punishable offense by the way) but some random troll post you read on an anonymous message board saying it destroys SSDs is gospel
the kids on this site are so clueless its hilarious
>dat dog memory
>listing days uncracked
Let me tell you about Starforce son.
>people who still believe this denuvo kills ssd
Uhh you people realize this is a myth right and literally unproven
I'm sure 20mb over 3 hours is very difficult on your SSD
I'm pretty sure they'll fuck you over somehow. They're not going to give you your money back after buying a shit game from them. They'd go bankrupt if they did that.
if all they are doing is using a bunch of quasi-marketing jargon, they can literally say anyhting they want
wtf does "performance non-critical game functions" mean anyways?
wtf is a "genuine executable"?
wtf is a "legitimate consumer"?
wtf does "completely transparent" mean?
these are all meaningless jargon with no legal basis whatsoever
Lets forget piracy for a second. Does denuvo also block shit like cheat engine and mods from being used?
Because not that I do use those things very often, but it would be unacceptable to me for them to be arbitrarily blocked.
He doesnt have one because it didnt happen.
>Sim city is uncrackable guise
>cracked a month after release
>Yeah ok guise but assassins creed 2 is uncrackable
>cracked after 2 months
>GUISE ITS OBERR DA:I IS UNCRACKABLE
why would i pose a counter argument to something that is completely false?
show me proof that denuvo obstructs of negatively affects a PCs performance in anyway and then when can talk about them lying
until then shut up and stop believing everything you read on /v/
Pretty much all denuvo does is it is a check that is embedded inside the game that prevents people from editing the exe
If you can't edit the exe, you can create a crack for it unless you emulate the anti tamper
the poster I replied to asked why they would blatantly lie and open themselves up to legal challenges
I replied that everything they said was meaningless, thus couldn't be legally challenged
I made no claim as to whether their DRM does what they say it does, or if they are lying
I only said that pretty much everything they said is so hedged with jargon it is effectively meaningless
This is pretty basic rhetorical analysis
I owe you no proof of the DRM functionality at all
Just as you owe me no proof
but just as you caution me not to believe random shit said on /v/, I caution you not to believe everything you read in a carefully crafted PR statement
There's two times 25% so saying 25% is the correct answer means you have 50% to get it right, etc.
It has no answer. There isn't really a question either. Not sure what the word is in english but I guess paradox would fit? The answer influences "the question".
Denuvo people desperately don't want their shit cracked. It's like they're trying to demoralize people with this or something.
