How come we never got a sequel?
You'd think Bioware would jump at the chance to promote such a diverse game.
Seeing Bioware's current works, I'd rather this just stay as a single game.
>ugly as fuck women
>terrible writing for the sake of trying to be Japanese
>combat replaced with shitty MMO turn-based garbage
>unique side quests are just obnoxious boring fetch quests
It'll be one of their few games that wasn't completely bastardized and ruined by EA Bioware.
I don't want a sequel anymore, can you imagine if modern Bioware made a new Jade Empire game
>Explore ancient China with a diverse cast of different races, genders, and creeds, on a quest to stop the white settlers that have enslaved your people so the spirits may rest at ease
Wouldnt that pretty much just be the same damn thing as Jade empire? only difference would be swapping out the main antagonist, european invaders were already present in Jade empire.
How is it railroading if people act like you're a dick when you're a dick?
Besides, I can't recall many negative cconsequences from closed fist. Ffs, you can avoid losing party members by mindraping them into submission
with their actual line up, they would fuck the sequel so hard that i would shit blood for days.
i'm actually healin from my DA wounds.
please, be comprehensive.
>Everyone is from fantasy China/Korea except John Cleese and the Mongolian ghosts
I get what you mean, but please God no. Jade Empire is my favourite Bioware game and I don't need EAware/SJWare touching it.
it sold like shit
this might come as a surprise, but unlike you and most of /v/, most people aren't weebs and don't automatically give anything to do with niponland/china/korea 10/10s
What? It was explained that there is no good or evil, just doing for others and doing for yourself.
Obviously when you're in a group full of world savers and Black Whirlwind, when you decide to be greedy and call for making decisions that only benefit yourself within the group, you're gonna get some mean stares back. Like when you say who gives a shit about the school and how worthless it was to train there right in front of Dawn Star.
>Intrigue is an expression of market forces
>Even by that logic, Dynasty Warriors doesn't sell
>b8ing this hard
>Discounting an entire era of history from making good games, forgetting RDR
9/10 I mad
I really liked the game, the setting and the combat style were very fresh. I did not like that it was even more heavy on conversations and shit than other BW games though. The ending twist was extremely well done and the decision on the end was pretty cool.
and whatever you may say about the game, the soundtrack was simply amazing.
listening to this gives much such an 'epic feel* it acutally makes me wanna replay the game.
feed the people only shit and they will start liking shit because it is all they know and it is what they are used too. shit, they will say, I like it, I eat it all the time. I don't want this other thing there because I don't know it, I just want my shit.
I liked the setting and I liked a lot about the game, but at the same time I disliked a lot of stuff about it as well, it felt really rushed and some of it felt really boring and sluggish, like the first part after you escape your village in that other village felt long as fuck, that creepy forest had a nice vibe to it, but it as well as a bit too "annoying" to do, everything sorta picks up after that though.
>tfw you will never assault the imperial palace again
God that was an awesome moment
>it's not poorly done
but it is. it doesn't have the right chinese-y feel. everything about it says "white people made this" like when you go to a chinese restaurant and the cook is some blond guy named frank and the spicy pork isn't acutally spick.
Thanks for all those examples from Jade Empire, champ.
It's actually quite a good fantasy version of Ming China. There's a lot of liberties and generalizations made in European fantasy, too, but we're used to them.
>tfw one of my favourite game off all time
>tfw /v/ hates it
Both are shit, 3 is better gameplay wise but they're both rubbish TPSes. The 1st was janky as fuck but was forgiven by being a decent RPG with an actually pretty good story with a lot of promise and great world building.
I remember playing a pirate version of this game which was "localized" with an automatic translator. Shit was hilarious. For example, the spirit plane was called "Land of Howling Alcohol".
