>When you kill an enemy, the game randomly erases a file from your PC
>game deletes system32
Phantasy Star Online 2
>Come talk to me after you're done if you want your wallpaper changed back to normal
>DO NOT TURN OFF THE GAME before you do so
That kind of goes without saying.
Yes, it does warn you multiple times. If something fucks up that's completely on you.
I played some nip game from comiket that I could barely understand. Every life you lost it would delete a file from your desktop. I was still able to recover the files from my bin but I could of lost some important photos.
The game actually being unplayable after you finish is a pretty cool idea. Makes me feel like I actually made a decision instead of just playing a game.
I still want that other ending though.
>Makes me feel like I actually made a decision instead of just playing a game.
>I still want that other ending though.
There are easy ways of doing that, they just aren't very developer-friendly.
You can put a large part of the game AFTER that decision(s), so choosing something is a big investment, for example: starter pokemons
Well in Oneshot you're trying to get the MC Niko home because he's trapped in another world. When you get to your destination you can chose to save the world and possibly leave him trapped or just let him go home instead and not save the world.
I chose let him go since that was the original mission but I'm sure there was a lot on the other end. I'll just have to redownload the game.
>character walks out of the game window
Ah, shit, that's true.
My bad, I think I only got that ending once when I played it after the patch came out.
I'm playing it right now. Nothing scary at all as of yet.
I laughed at that bit with the computer at the start, because my username on my computer is simply ''user''. You'll know what I mean if you give it a try.
Yeah. It was possible to find it without the RAT, though.
Shit, when did this happen?
Because if I'm remembering right, that shit's the reason I decided to uninstall my computer's webcam and microphone drivers, and also why I've been paranoid as fuck about something like that happening to me.
Haha, a malware got me when a popup from pornhub opened.
My anti-virus got paralyzed and it covered my whole screen with no chance of control, not even task manager.
The screen said I'm under british police watch with my webcam on and broadcasting my face on one part of the screen.
It says that I need to send them my credit card details to get me off their watch.
I'm not even british nor was I aware that my built-in webcam is "operational," couldn't use it for some time.
Safe-mode is a godsend.
Popups, never again.
No, please. Not again. That game almost gave me a heart attack
Game deletes your saves and locks you out of said game
smash the bulbending
>Game is done and I'm locked out of playing again
>look in game files
>all this shit
How much of this game did I miss
Mine is "BLACKBART", I think I should play it just for laughs.
>open up steam chat, the game window goes out of focus
a shadowy portrait of irisu is staring at me with red eyes
Same thing happened occasionally when you got a game over. Also,
in one of the endings, she walked into the game window from the very edge of your computer screen
That game was a trip and a half.
I've gotten malware before (from a pirated game) that allowed the guy to take control of my computer, and we talked through Notepad for a while. I told him I'm doing school and such and I don't want some dude distracting me from school, so he let me off and since he seemed nice enough, I gave him my Skype.
We're online boyfriends now
>uninstall myth II
fucks over your whole hard drive
It's mostly unnerving. It doesn't really have a "SCREAMBESCAREDNOW" moment.
>be a fucking bitch
>be surprised and over react when you get left for someone else
fucking normies man
If you felt sorry for her then you are lower then a beta.
I dunno, whole plot is you romance yandere girl, you try to romance other girls but you end up with yandere, you try going off track a few more times, end up with yandere girl, once you get off track all together you got for the other slut, slut girl cucks you and you end in this path, Yandere girl is a goddamn memory card and she pretty much has a say on your save files, her memory isnt erased everytime you hit new game, and we end up here
I thought about making a game where your usual gun selection is supplemented by some hilariously OP magic stick that blows everything out of the water, but using that gradually corrupts everything. At first the game world goes to shit, and then the game itself starts falling apart, going from freezes and crashes to everything glitching out like mad and eventually culminating in a boss battle over a fake bluescreen
everygame does that for me now, soon it will kill it ;_;
>Scary music starts playing
>Can't close the window
Nope'd so hard, ended it via task manager.
>really like tonyhawk THUG2
>search for videos on youtube one day about it (just discovered it)
>my computer freezes
>THUG2 MODS ARE THE BEST! appears in the search bar
>computer shuts down
Back when I used a "gaming" laptop I had this problem where games what just go to power point tier frame rates at regular intervals after playing for 30 minutes or so. When I finally checked the temperatures when that happened it said my gpu was at 100 degrees Celsius.
It was sort of fun, no lie. It was just some guy looking to prank people on a forum I used to go to, and he wasn't intended to hurt anyone or keep anything going. Little did he know he'd make a friend, or more so!
Like, his trick was that if I tried to run the game, a window would open with an unclosable Rick Roll. So eventually I figured out it was a virus, and opened up a Notepad when my mouse started spazing out. I was like, "dude i'm doing school right now, fuck off" and we talked for an hour, he helped me fix the whole RAT virus thing, and we kept talking after that.
A long time ago I hopped on some sven coop server, and while little edits that fucked with your controls like pressing fire to suicide were pretty common, one time a guy was like "hey anon look down at your CD drive lol"
so I looked down and it opened up. I immediately unplugged my router and shat bricks.
That's not cute. That'd scare the shit out of me. One time I was playing TF2 and suddenly the game starting typing in messages into the chat window, but I obviously wasn't typing them. Asking things like "Is it normal for your cum to be yellow" and stupid shit like that.
this whole fucking thread
anyways, I kind of want to play Irisu Syndrome and I have heard of that before but I don't like spooky shit.
>you could have a screamer on your computer that could pop up when you least expect it
How often do you clean it? Because, you need to clean it at least every year dude...
DAMNIT IRISU WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR FOCUS
>This fucking thread I swear
We should make a game like this ya know.
I can do the 2d shitty drawings
always go for chains, remember breaking blocks recovers health but letting hit the "ground" part makes you lose a big chunk, You can also push active blocks into the outside area before they gray out and you will only lose a little bit of health
Active blocks will active other blocks they hit but blocks of the same color that have touched will not activate other colored blocks, only same colored blocks
It did originally, I played a portion of the game (the part after I talked to the robot), and then I f12'd and was sent back to the menu only to find no one in bed and playing scary music. Eventually I got a popup saying I killed Niko.
I can just redownload the game and start all over,
Oh right. Yeah that's why it tells you not to quit. Though I did quit once after starting the game but I was able to continue again with no repercussions. I was still in the starting area though.
>cheating away what you caused
Have you no shame?
By now I've conditioned myself from screamers
Even the ones where you least expect them
Hey, but one day I could click on donut man and fuck up
I'd probably piss myself to no end
Nowadays though, I'm sure that I'm not a pussy
Danger lurks around the entire, remember that
You'll just one day be playing Rebirth
One second you feel a bad gut feeling
Under the covers you'll go
I suck dong at this
Oh that would make sense.
I just remembered I still had the zipped folder and tried to extract it from there in order to start over. It didn't work.
I better be able to download this shit and have it work after shredding all the files.
>Game has drink holder option
>It opens my fucking CD/DVD drive
I just played this.
With a defined sense of directions, it's no surprise it's a lot of hints in this game.
Also I gave the KYUTCHIE called Niko a sleep, and that means I'll sustain myself from playing this game until a certain point.
Trust me, would you think I would leave my friend behind?
>games turns your computer off
>tfw can't play any fucking thing made in recent years without overheating ;_;
You may see what resembles an abandoned train transport(remember FFVII when you had to get back to Shinra just to rescue Aerith?), then you get in after diary reading, recieving information from someone, and after that you'll find the "same" spot where you got out of that house.
Then when you press "Yes", he goes to sleep and the game automatically closes itself. Nonsensical, isn't it?
Forgot to add details:
There's an entirely toxic place that it is only accessible when you equipped gas mask and those rubber gloves. And... yeah, that direction takes you to some different spot and you'll find yourself getting inside an abandoned train. You'll see a bed in there.
Correct me if I can't make my English coherent, or you can just point me so that it can somehow make sense of it.
I know what you're talking about. You don't have to go through the poison area to get there, just go straight upwards until you find another trailer from where you first come out after the beginning area.
>closing the same will kill niko
>like, WHAT'S THE POINT OF PLAYING THROUGH THE REST OF THE GAME?
Looks like I found another hint.
Well here I go.
>five or six years ago I was fucking around on a shitty laptop
>google image search "Geore Lopez" for whatever reason
>click on one of the pictures to enlarge it
>opens in a new window
>look at it and close it
>it opens again
>suddenly opens dozens of itself at the same time
>frantically clicking to get rid of George Lopez
>every time I close out one of the pictures, two more come back in its place
>panic and shut down the laptop to escape the Lopez Hydra
>reboot and everything seems fine
>get a bluescreen three weeks later trying to make my own Pokemon cards online
I remember some guy put a video of him playing
worlds.comand the guy started freaking out cause text box typed out some religous bullshit that he didn't write. I would have just shat bricks if I saw that...
Stuff like that happens. Once at school in the computer lab this guy sitting next to me was looking up pictures for a powerpoint or whatever and when he opened one it started downloading porn and shit to his computer.
Google is a scary place sometimes.
Sounds like the page youareanidiot.
It opens a single plage with a smily and the voice "You are an idiot! Ha haha hahaha ha!" and closing it would open 2+ more over and over again.
>mfw my friend sent me the link
>last level is just you on a blank level with the credits scrolling
>can only kill yourself
>only option is to quit
>immediately quits to desktop
you move your mouse and suddenly you're still in the game, surrounded by pictures of your desktop until you look behind you and find the real ending
Oneshot is a prime example of me wanting more. There's so much not explained. Pretty much nothing is explained. Why does Niko say he's not a cat? What's his world like? Why can't I fight the spirit of the world. I need MORE.
"Anon your games are slowing down the computer!"
shut it mom you don't know shit
>Game begins to glitch out badly
>Character begins to see and react to them in a horrified manner
>the glitches weren't scripted
>game puzzles create outside-game archives to solve them
Thinking that he lies would mean you don't smash the bulb. Everybody knows the world is going to die anyway. No reason not to send Niko home. You don't want him to be trapped in that shithole world do you?
>hear all this shit bout some game called irisu syndrome in this thread
whats so spooky bout it /v/?
>inb4 go play it
cant play it my computers to shit
cant even handle youtube videos on this shit
reasons why I partially want to build a gaminig pc
I'll know I'll barely touch all the games, but when I play something as basic as terraria I don't want to worry about my computer crashing
>Play Titanfall on my toaster
>It literally loads so long that by the time it finishes I am either kicked from the game or the level changes
>inherited a shitty pc with no antivirus software but the default shit
>browsing one of the popular torrent sites a few years ago
>suddenly a popup,installs a fake anti-virus software
>starts a "scan" "Scanning Computer! Found child-porn-1.jpg...
>unplug computer, completely wipe it, get a new one soon after with actual defense
antivirus is very useful for a shady pirating man like me, it's one of the few programs i actually pay for
>brother brings computers from work
>finally brings a usable laptop
>no antivirus at all
>torrent some shit
>install one automatically
>computer is locked until I pay for antivirus with credit card
>don't use it for months
>it goes away
>playing spooky game
>get too scared
>finally back in comfy desktop
opens itself back up with a screamer
I remember something similar. Back in the day I was a shitty little kid and I knew the dangers of malware but when traversing the net on a public computer sometimes I'd have fun downloading shitty little programs and messing with my friends' computers.
>Sitting in class one day
>We have a substitute so we all hop on the computers (we were in a "computer lab")
>Some kids are playing Flash games or what-have-you
>I go online into some Geocities webpage or something similar to it while looking up "viruses" and crap
>Find a couple of executable files that I could download onto a USB I had
>I download a couple onto the USB and open them up on different computers in the lab
>One of them, which was particularly annoying, was a program that made your mouse pointer go errant at odd intervals of intensity when you tried to move it
Good times. No wonder school systems nowadays force kids to sign what is essentially legally binding limited-use forms.
oh eternal darkness. that game started it all really
>screen would turn off
>volume would mute/change
>you'd turn into a monster
>your body parts would fall off one by one
>the game would tell you your memory card was reformatted
>to be continue after opening a door
I LOVE THIS GAME
Also one of the reasons the Psycho Mantis battle in MGS will be one of the best in history. And the battle in Twin Snakes was neat too.
>"YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE HAVEN'T YOU?"
>Begone cursed devil cube! You and your ilk!
>mfw I can pull that off on PC by checking if a folder exists
Time to spook people.
Well, apparently it was disqualified from the beginning, but they didn't actually tell them about it until after the voting was over and they got all the way up to first place. On that note, they didn't actually *tell* them it got disqualified, a mutual friend mentioned it was gonna get canned since they were using an "illegal" copy of rpgmaker. A good portion of the highest ranking entries were disqualified for the same reason.
All of the winning games were shit, too. Not /v/ shit, but actual "shit" shit. Took them like, three months to judge them? God damn.
Night's been busy with life lately, and mathew is still working on that Dream vs Dream fighting game. I haven't kept up with it recently, but I hear that it's making alright progress.
Seems like I got my desktop background back.
I was expecting the replacement picture to be creepier, but it was just a puzzle solution.
>go the yandere route
>then go back to the other girl
>the yandere kills her then deletes your save file so you can only go on her route forever
im playing irisu syndrome
got a game over at level 16
but nothing bad happened
just some text documents in my folder and a new picture. saw 'the end' appear a few times with a metal clang but thats it
im assuming level 16 isnt good enough to continue the story?
>playing CS 1.6
>Didn't realize I left a music CD in my computer
>Music starts playing from it during loading times
>Playing Baldur's Gate
>Gather my party and venture forth
>CD tray automatically opens by itself
>finish the level
>back to firefox
>hear a giggle
"Oh shit the ride never ends--"
>GAME FUCKING OPENS BACK UP IN FULL SCREEN WITH A SCREAMER
FUCK YOU WHITE FACE
Eh, he's not that scary. He just wants a friend.
>it does that just for the sake of it
>doesn't delete files
>doesn't lock files
>doesn't make your computer inoperable
>can be safely and easily deleted afterwards
gee I guess I shouldn't play scary games
