made this today, tried to make something effective using little space/resources
I'd upload more but I've never used wemb before and they always end up choppy and have huge filezize.
Maybe I'm just using crappy tools.
Speaking of choppy, the game has some real issues with more complex creations.
Here's a simple battering ram.
Depends how you defined 'shilled' since it's not the devs or their PR guy that's been making all these threads.
If you just take 'shilled' to mean 'talked about and loved by users' then, yeah I guess it might be.
There's levels you have to complete, and a sandbox mode with moving platforms, smashers, grinders, etc to test your stuff.
Plus a lot more content, physics, and ways to build shit than Nuts & Bolts.
It'a early access and there's 15 levels or so.
It's pretty impressive what you can do in this early version already.
The only real issue are the frameate drops when your machine is too complicated.
It can be solved by slowing down ingame speed though.
I also think that gears don't work as they should, but maybe I just haven't figured it out yet.
>I also think that gears don't work as they should, but maybe I just haven't figured it out yet
The problem with gears is that you can't choose the size.
Having gears all the same size is pointless, because the whole point of gears is not to transfer mechanical energy, but to change its quantity.
>in early threads people actually predicted /v/ would quickly start to turn on the game as soon as it got more popular
Ah, no, the image was made before this guy showed up. He spent a few hours yesterday calling everyone autistic retards because when we told him how to fix his shitty plane he didn't take our advice and failed harder.
It'd be nice if we got spears, the wood blocks throw off the aim a ton.
Actually here's what happened according to the research done by the "out of my ass" university
>/v/ is composed of people who shitpost and people who like videogames
You already know which is the majority, so let's just continue with this
>people who like videogames, let's call them V, like a new game
>people who shitpost, let's call them S, are shitposting in threads of popular stuff
>S is ignoring V's new liked game, because it is not popular
>the game V is talking about becomes popular exactly because it is being left alone by S
>S gets all over it
>V attacks itself thinking it is S
>the cycle continues
We can indeed talk about videogames here, but only if they're not popular and only for a short while.
Well if you weren't around for that guy you'd have to read the archives to properly get a feeling for his ridiculousness so I wouldn't bother if I were you anyway.
But that aside, fuck the haters, most people loved your work. Certainly the people more involved did since they definitely got all the jokes.
Was not fake man, was some funny shit.
His egotistic Im an engineer attitude.
Made a super compact variation on a chaos engine for when you want to draw power from both ends of it at the same time in the same rotational direction (for example, driving a pair of wheels). The middle two sawblades are connected to each other by a brace. It's power output is about the same, while being half the size.
So how about those webms
What settings do you use for yours?
>that fucking swastika that just pops up
You have to balance them properly.
For my crossbow I added a spike in front and a metal plate in the back and they fly straight 9/10 time.
much of /v/ stopped playing after a week or so since there is no content beyond a basic creator.
but most people here didn't even buy it to begin with for good reason.
Keep pretending it's getting more popular though.
wish the game ran better when lots of physics, probably will in the future
I've yet to actually do something useful with CEs.
That said, how the hell does Superposing work? I get the whole "Place A, delete A, place B while you Undo the deletion of A" but Undo has no key bind and my mouse can't be in two places at once..?
I'm broke as fuck so all I have is 0.02
its just very hype right now is all. The threads will trickle down as updates slow down. As it stands the game is very fresh, and there are a lot things you can do with it. Its
How can I use the swastika engine? How to make it more stable? Is this a metaphor that buddhism is condemned to die?
Is there a sort of "Getting Started" or basic construction guide? I've finished the one island but I haven't figured out how to make shit like flying machines or anything that moves very well.
You need to balance out the rotational force of the blades by have an equal amount of force spin the opposite direction relative to the center of mass. Ala 2 more motors on the bottom.
As entertaining as this is, what the hell is going on here?
This is what I was referring to. Why does this happen?
I made a tutorial video about flying things like rockets and shit
And here's the other one about basics for newer players.
I hope this helps some people, especially that retard who was bitching about his unbalanced drone yesterday. Like holy shit, you can't just put the center of mass at the head of the plane and expect it to work.
See the three bars next to "sandbox"? Click on them and then the bottom option to see where your centre of gravity is located.
Protip: Your thing is too heavy on the back end and has nothing to propel it forward, a lot of thrust in the back though.
i am so bad at this game. or stupid
when i try to make a simple wheel using the steering block (not hinge) it rubs against the wood block attached to it. and if i only use a brace it doesn't turn. How to use steering blocks for wheels?
It's actually pretty cramped since the hull looks so fancy.
I have a bigger one that carries 12.
Place single long wood blocks, delete inbetween.
Place bomb on the bottom block, remove the block.
Place grabber on the other side, tada, once you press space to start, the grabber will instantly take it
Because they're not for hitting infantry.
They're for broadsiding other airships.
